The Baltimore Ravens will take the field Wednesday morning for their first practice of the 2026 training camp, beginning a new era at the Under Armour Performance Center.
The opening session will provide the first extended look at head coach Jesse Minter's team and Declan Doyle's new offense. Lamar Jackson enters camp healthy and confident after an injury-plagued 2025 season, while Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews return as the offense's established playmakers.
Early focus will also center on first-round guard Vega Ioane and Baltimore's rebuilt interior offensive line. Ethan Pocic's late addition changes the competition at center, while John Simpson and Andrew Vorhees are among the candidates for significant roles at guard. Defensively, Trey Hendrickson will make his training camp debut with Baltimore. Nnamdi Madubuike will open camp on the active/PUP list after receiving medical clearance to resume football activities, creating early opportunities for the Ravens' other defensive linemen.
Rookies Zion Young, Ja'Kobi Lane, Elijah Sarratt and Ryan Eckley will also begin competing for roles on a roster built to return to the postseason. Follow along on the Ravens Wire liveblog that will be updated throughout the morning with photos, videos, observations and more.

The coaching world is a small one, and as the days go by, it continues to get smaller.
Every single guy is on a one-man mission to get to the top of the sport and become a head coach somewhere. For some, the grind is too much, but for others, they make a life out of it. Now, as the NFL is in a little bit of a transition phase to the young, braniac coaches, there is another layer of the coaching world that is getting exposed. The perfect example of this is with Todd Monken and the two guys the Ravens hired as their head coach and offensive coordinator.
Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken was on the Ryan Ripken Show and was asked what his actual thoughts are about the Ravens' decision. In typical Monken fashion, he told the truth and nothing but the truth.
"It's bulls---," Monken exclaimed. " I don't know if everyone knows this. My first year as a GA at Notre Dame... in '91, I GA'd with Declan Doyle's dad, Chris Doyle... My second year at Notre Dame, I moved to defense, and I was a GA for Rick Minter, Jessie Minter's dad. It really just means my a-- is old. But, the reality is, I've got a ton of respect for those guys. They are fantastic coaches."
"They are fantastic coaches and it's bullshit they're with the Ravens and we gotta play them twice a year. All this **** I talked to Declan about taking the job and now we're in the same **** division. I should've talked his **** out of it."

Walsall head coach Lee Grant says he is "not there yet" as far as strengthening the squad to his satisfaction before the start of the new season.
The Saddlers have brought in nine players with defenders Ryan Leak and Declan Skura the latest to arrive at the Pallet-Track Stadium this week.
Both started Tuesday's friendly defeat by Aston Villa, along with goalkeeper Jed Ward, midfielders Sven Sprangler and Isaac Moore and striker Andrew Dallas.
Grant is preparing for his first campaign in charge after replacing Mat Sadler in May and has promised Walsall will approach League Two with positive, attacking football.
As for how his squad was shaping up personnel-wise, Grant said there was still work to do.

Morgan Rogers is set to start for England in their colossal World Cup semi-final against Argentina in Atlanta tonight.
The Aston Villa midfielder, 23, has started just once so far the tournament, in the final group game against Panama, but impressed off the bench against Norway in the quarter-finals.
He is set to play on England's right, taking the place of Noni Madueke, which means Bukayo Saka once again starts on the bench.
England v Argentina LIVE: Latest team news ahead of World Cup semi-final

Declan Rice joined the England squad for the 2026 World Cup carrying an injury and has publicly admitted that he is experiencing so much pain that it can affect him even while sitting still.
Despite the injury, Rice has continued to start matches for England at the World Cup and has delivered solid performances in midfield throughout the tournament.
Thomas Tuchel appears to believe that England cannot do without the ***** nal midfielder, and his importance to the team is clear. However, Rice has not been performing at his usual high standard, with his fitness issues seemingly limiting his influence on the pitch.
Against Norway, Rice produced his quietest display of the tournament so far, as England came close to suffering an upset. Tuchel eventually opted to replace the ***** nal midfielder, a decision that helped refresh the midfield during a difficult contest.
Rice has shown his commitment by continuing to play despite his physical condition, but the demands of the tournament make managing his fitness increasingly important. With every match carrying greater significance, balancing his availability with his long-term fitness has become a major consideration.

Declan Rice is expected to start for England against Argentina, although it remains unclear whether the ******* nal midfielder will be able to play the full 90 minutes, let alone extra time if the World Cup semi-final goes the distance.
Rice has endured a demanding season, to say the least, and arrived at this tournament stuck together with tape.
He has been managing hamstring and back problems throughout the World Cup and, just before England's quarter-final against Norway, was also struck down by illness.
The midfielder started that match but was well below his usual standards before being substituted at half-time.

England face Argentina at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday evening in the World Cup semi-finals, one win from their first World Cup final appearance since 1966.
Thomas Tuchel's side beat Norway 2–1 after extra time in Miami on Saturday, Bellingham equalising just before half-time before completing his brace in the third minute of extra time to send England into only their fourth World Cup semi-final. The reigning world champions are the last obstacle between England and Sunday's final against European champions Spain, to whom they lost in the 2024 final.
Jarell Quansah serves the second and final match of his two-game suspension for the red card received against Mexico. Jordan Henderson remains out for the tournament with a broken wrist. Otherwise, Tuchel has a fully fit squad available, as he confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
Declan Rice has recovered from the stomach illness that restricted him to 45 minutes against Norway and is confirmed to start. He trained fully on Monday in Kansas City — his first full session since the quarter-final.
Reece James returned from a hamstring injury as a substitute in Miami and is expected to start at right back, with Tuchel satisfied with his recovery. Ezri Konsa continues at centre-back alongside John Stones, with Nico O'Reilly at left back.

England coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed Tuesday that Declan Rice is fit to start in the World Cup semi-final against reigning champions Argentina.
"Everyone is fit to start and everyone was in training except for Jarell (Quansah) who is suspended and Jordan Henderson," Tuchel told reporters in Atlanta on the eve of Wednesday's showdown.
Henderson is out after breaking his arm in a freak accident at the end of England's win over co-hosts Mexico in the last 16. Rice has been struggling with illness and came off at half-time in the quarter-final victory over Norway.
"Rice is ready to start and as well recovered as possible," said Tuchel, who was excited by the prospect of seeing England renew their long-standing rivalry with Argentina.
"It is a big rivalry, two big football nations, everyone who loves football and follows the World Cup knows about this and about what it brings," said the German.

Thomas Tuchel is confident of Declan Rice‘s ability to start England’s World Cup semi-final after he trained on the eve of their last-four clash with Argentina in a huge fitness boost.
England take on Lionel Messi and co in Atlanta on Wednesday seeking to seal a place in Sunday’s MetLife Stadium showpiece.
The Three Lions secured their place in the semi-finals with a narrow 2-1 extra-time victory against Norway in Miami, where the unusually ineffective Rice was withdrawn at half-time.
Tuchel revealed after the quarter-final that the **** nal star had been bedbound for three days in the build-up to the tie having fallen unwell after the last-16 trip to Mexico.
Rice has also been dealing with nagging hamstring pain since Christmas but he trained with his team-mates at their Kansas City base before flying to Georgia on Tuesday.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Ravens fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Ravens embraced change this offseason. Since January, Baltimore has a new head coach, new play-callers on both sides of the ball, an entirely rebuilt interior offensive line, and a significantly improved defensive line. And in this week’s Ravens Reacts survey, we want to know which change will make the biggest impact this year! Here’s an argument for each option in the survey:
Jesse Minter: This one is pretty simple. The Chargers fielded a top-10 defense in both of Minter’s years as DC, and putting a top-10 defense opposite a Lamar Jackson-led offense will only lead to success. At a higher level, Minter is preaching accountability and standards as he installs a new culture in Baltimore that will hopefully reverse a trend of blown leads and disappointing playoff losses. This change at the top affects every single part of the team, and it will take a strong effort from Minter to bring the Ravens back to Super Bowl contention right away.
Declan Doyle: On the other side of the ball, the Ravens’ new 29-year-old offensive coordinator will be looking to bring Jackson and Baltimore’s offense to new heights. The two-time MVP is working with a young, innovative offensive mind for the first time in his career, and the results could be explosive. If Doyle can quickly conjure the same success as his mentors Sean Payton and Ben Johnson, the Ravens offense should be among the best in the league and Jackson could take home his third MVP.
Trey Hendrickson: The Ravens made an uncharacteristically aggressive pursuit of elite edge rushing talent this offseason. They nearly sent two first-round picks to the Raiders for Maxx Crosby before pivoting to a four-year, $112 million deal for Hendrickson. The former Bengal is coming off a down year due to injury, but he put up 17.5 sacks in both 2023 and 2024, more than any Raven has logged in a single season. Post-injury and crossing into his 30s, he may not return to those heights, but he could still be the team’s most effective pass rusher in at least a decade.

The 2026 World Cup is down to its last four, meaning teams will be praying not to suffer any untimely injury setbacks in their quest for global glory.
Some of the big injury sagas heading into the tournament have come to happy endings, with Lamine Yamal now a regular fixture for Spain after returning to full fitness, while injury-ridden Neymar was able to get some minutes in what will be his final World Cup, before Brazil’s elimination at the hands of Norway.
However, many nations are still sweating over major concerns to top players. England have been dealing with a defensive injury crisis for much of the tournament and while that appeared to easing with Reece James closing in on a return, Declan Rice‘s fitness is now up in the air after being struck down with illness before the quarter-final clash with Norway.
France will be sweating over the fitness of Kylian Mbappe after he was brought off with a knock against Morocco. Spain, meanwhile, have seen their winger options limited since the end of the group stage, with Yeremy Pino and Victor Munoz still out. And in a potential concern for Newcastle fans hoping to see one of their top targets in action, Switzerland will be without star man Johan Manzambi for their last-eight tie with Argentina.

England will make a late decision on whether Declan Rice is fit to start the World Cup semi-final against Argentina.
But there remains optimism the ****** nal midfielder can shake off the effects of an illness to play on Wednesday.
Rice, who suffered with a sickness bug in the lead-up to Saturday's quarter-final victory over Norway in Miami, was substituted at half-time.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel admitted afterwards that Rice had spent three days in bed before the match, which England won 2-1 after extra time.
It is understood Rice still has not recovered fully from the illness - picked up in Mexico, where England beat the co-hosts 3-2 in the last 16 - but his condition has improved markedly over the past 48 hours.

Alan Pardew believes players should not be selected when they are not fully fit, regardless of their importance to the team, as he reflected on Declan Rice’s recent involvement with England at the World Cup.
Rice has been carrying an injury since the end of last season and has continued to feature for England throughout the tournament despite concerns over his fitness. Even with those issues, the midfielder has remained a regular starter under Thomas Tuchel because of his importance to the Three Lions.
Before England’s quarter-final against Norway, there were also reports that Rice may have been affected by illness, with a sickness bug circulating within the squad. Despite those concerns, Tuchel selected the midfielder in the starting line-up for the crucial fixture.
Rice was unable to produce his usual level of performance and was substituted during the match as England eventually secured victory in extra time. Jude Bellingham delivered an impressive display to help the Three Lions progress, but Rice’s performance attracted criticism after another difficult outing.
Discussing the decision to start Rice, Pardew said, as reported by Talk Sport:

The second day of the 2026 MLB draft is underway, and this is where the Tigers can get some good value. Remember, Tarik Skubal went in the ninth round, and Kerry Carpenter was a 19th-rounder, so some of these guys have a chance to make big impacts in Detroit.
It's rare to see players picked in the first 10 rounds not sign, but the second half of the draft is a bit different. Slot values go away, and teams are allowed to offer $150,000 that doesn't work against the bonus pool. Anything over that number comes out of any underslot-signing savings in the first 10 rounds. Usually, you'll see a Hail Mary type pick in the final four or five rounds, and those players don't always end up being signed.
For a refresher, Detroit selected Coastal Carolina right-handed pitcher Cameron Flukey in the first round, Kansas shortstop Tyson LeBlanc in the second round, Florida Gulf Coast two-way Evan Dempsey as a right-handed pitcher in the competitive balance round B and high school shortstop Dominic Pellegrin (Holy Cross HS, LA) in the fourth round. The Tigers did not have a third-round pick due to the signing of Framber Valdez.
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-hander out of Louisiana Tech, Declan Dahl is an interesting developmental pickup for Detroit.
He spent two seasons with Seminole State (Okla.) at the JUCO level, compiling a 13-6 record, 3.36 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 128.2 innings and 26 appearances (21 starts). Dahl threw four complete games in that time and had a 10.00 K/9 over that time, too.

Baltimore Beatdown readers gave Jesse Minter and the new-look Ravens a substantial vote of confidence in this week’s SB Nations Reacts survey. A whopping 92% of respondents answered that the team would reach double-digit victories, including a group of 37% who believe Baltimore will win at least 12 games.
Between the coaching overhaul and major roster additions like All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and first-round guard Olaivavega Ioane, the Ravens seem primed to bounce back from their disappointing 8-9 record in 2025.
There may still be some ***** ps for Minter and his new coaching staff, especially first-time offensive play-caller Declan Doyle. The 29-year-old’s presence and attention to detail stood out at spring practices, but it will be impossible to know if he is truly ready for the job until the season begins. The Ravens also have an uncertain outlook at center after Tyler Linderbaum’s departure in free agency, and Nnamdi Madubuike’s return to the defensive line remains up in the air.
Double-digit wins, especially with a relatively easy schedule, seems well within grasp for Minter’s first year in charge, especially if two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson can avoid the injuries that plagued him last season. The Ravens’ offseason retool is centered around the concept that Jackson plus a top-10 defense – which Minter fielded in both of his years as the Chargers’ DC – is a winning formula that few teams can stop.
Fan expectations largely align with betting markets’ rosy outlook on the Ravens’ 2026 season. Their current regular seasons wins over/under is set at 11.5 (via FanDuel Sportsbook), and they are also favored to win more games than every other team except the Rams.

On paper, the match between Norway and England is probably the most exciting of all the World Cup quarter-finals. And that applies not only to the duel on the pitch.
The fan camps of both nations have already had one or two run-ins well before kick-off — completely peacefully, mind you.
Since both the Norwegians and the English have descended on Miami in their tens of thousands, direct encounters are hard to avoid.
The Scandinavians found that out the hard way in front of the hotel "The Fritz." As the Northern Europeans began their famous Viking Row, they were disrupted by loud English supporters on the balconies.
The islanders at least managed to break the rhythm of the Norwegian rowing formation. Declan Rice and Co. will be hoping to do the same on the pitch on Saturday evening (11 p.m.).

Norway and England meet in a quarterfinal that pits one of the tournament's most battle-tested sides against a squad enjoying the best World Cup run in program history.
England ground out a wild 3-2 win over Mexico at the Azteca, holding on after a second-half red card thanks to a first-half Jude Bellingham brace and a Harry Kane penalty in the 60th minute. Norway punched its ticket to the final eight by upending Brazil, powered by a second-half Erling Haaland double that keeps him in the thick of the Golden Boot chase alongside Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi.
England is chasing its first World Cup **** le since 1966, having reached the quarterfinals in 2022 and the semifinals in 2018. Norway, appearing in just its fourth World Cup, has never advanced this far before.
The strikers headline the matchup, but both sides run deep — England leans on Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon, while Norway pairs Martin Ødegaard and Alexander Sørloth with Haaland up top.

England midfielder Declan Rice and defenders Reece James and Marc Guehi trained on Friday, July 10, ahead of the team's World Cup quarterfinal match against Norway on Saturday, July 11.
"We had everyone available and training, which we of course like," head coach Thomas Tuchel said. "We have the full choice except for our suspended player, Jarell Quansah. That's the good news."
Rice had been ill for several days leading up to the match. The England midfielder was isolated from the team by FIFA in an attempt to prevent an outbreak.
James hasn't played since England's June 23 match against Ghana. He has been dealing with hamstring issues since then. Guehi has also dealt with hamstring issues since the Three Lions played Mexico on July 5, working through tightness.
Though the update on Rice, James and Guehi sounds promising, England is still dealing with an injury to midfielder Jordan Henderson.

England received a boost on the eve of their World Cup quarter-final against Norway after Declan Rice, Marc Guehi and Reece James all returned to training on Friday.
James has missed the last three games after picking up a hamstring injury, causing coach Thomas Tuchel a headache at right-back given his lack of other options in that position.
Chelsea captain James looks set to return to the starting line-up on Saturday with Jarell Quansah suspended after the red card he received in a memorable 3-2 win over Mexico in the last 16.
Guehi and Rice both played the full match in Mexico City.
However, they both missed training, alongside James, on Wednesday.

England midfielder Declan Rice and defenders Marc Guehi and Reece James all took part in training on the eve of Saturday's World Cup quarter-final against Norway.
Jordan Henderson is the only squad player who missed out after having surgery on a broken arm.
Manchester City's Guehi complained of a slight hamstring injury following England's 3-2 victory over Mexico in the last 16 at the Azteca Stadium, but he trained at Fort Lauderdale under the watchful eye of former England captain Sir David Beckham.
Right-back James has missed three games but returned to training as expected on Thursday and featured again on Friday, putting him in contention to face Norway (22:00 BST kick-off) at Miami Stadium.
The return of Rice, after a sickness bug, is also a boost for Thomas Tuchel as the England head coach attempts to secure a semi-final spot.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is being isolated from England teammates after he got sick, according to the Daily Mail. The Gunners star played through the injury barrier for the Emirates Stadium last term and is currently suffering with a hamstring and lower back issue. Rice is set to report late for pre-season with ******* nal due to his World Cup engagement, and manager Mikel Arteta will hope the North London club can hit the ground running next season. The England international has recently gone down with a bug, and FA officials have taken steps to isolate him from the main group.
It is an attempt to contain what could be a potentially damaging outbreak as the Three Lions prepare to take on Norway in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Rice has missed two days of training in a row due to the sickness. It remains to be seen whether he will be available to feature against Norway but those in the England camp are confident the illness has been contained. ******* nal will begin their summer preparation in Girona on August 1 and are set to be without Rice, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke. Players involved in the World Cup will begin a three-week holiday after they get eliminated from the competition. As a result, the Gunners quartet will not be available for their club’s opening game of pre-season and will almost certainly miss the second pre-season game on August 5 in Dublin against Real Betis if England advance to the semi-finals.

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — An injury crisis in Australia's flyhalf ranks has resulted in Declan Meredith being selected to make his test debut for the Wallabies in the Nations Championship test against Six Nations **** list France on Saturday.
Meredith, a 27-year-old playmaker from Cairns in far north Australia who linked up with the Canberra-based Brumbies in 2023, will be the sixth different player to start a rugby test at No. 10 for Australia since July of last year.
Injuries to Carter Gordon, who started in last week's 33-31 loss to Ireland, and Ben Donaldson, who went on as a replacement and missed a late penalty goal that could have won the game, mean Meredith will join Brumbies teammate Ryan Lonergan in yet another halves pairing for the Wallabies.
In the last 12 months, Noah Lolesio, Tom Lynagh, James O'Connor, Tane Edmed and Gordon have been the starting playmaker for Australia.
Jock Campbell, who started at fullback last week in his first test in four years, will move to the bench as cover for Nos. 10 and 15, with Tom Wright returning at fullback in the only other change to the Wallabies' starting XV.
