Olivia Colman joined her Wicker co-star Alexander Skarsgård on the red carpet for the film's screening at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival this evening, returning to the festival after attending opening night yesterday.
Courtesy of Celine
Wearing her hair down this time, Olivia opted for a black Celine gown with asymmetrical draping that gives the otherwise simple design an interesting twist. The contrast between the matte upper half and the sheen of the skirt is another detail I appreciate, preventing the look from falling flat.
But I just can't ignore the length.
There's far too much fabric gathering at the bottom. The structured hemline only adds to the heaviness, making the skirt look unnecessarily bulky when the rest of the gown has such a beautiful flow.

Penélope Cruz continued her La Bola Negra press tour at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival, held at the Royal Festival Hall this evening.
Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/WireImage
The Chanel ambassador has been having plenty of fun experimenting with different styles and labels throughout this press tour. We saw it at TIFF and San Sebastián, and now London has given us another welcome change of direction.
This time, Penélope dipped into the archives for a Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2014 suit.
The tailoring is impeccable, but it's the pattern play that really sells this look to me. The contrasting checks of the shirt and tie, alongside the dominate cuffs, add plenty of charm and personality to the classic black suit without making the combination feel too busy.

President Donald Trump's portfolio managers bought as much as $30 million in Meta stock and ******* eX debt in August as purchases made in his name continue to be highly active.
A newly released financial disclosure shows more than 500 securities transactions in August, including up to $25 million in Meta stock and $5 million in ******* eX debt. His portfolio also invested in AT&T, Netflix and Chevron. In contrast, he sold shares of Advanced Micro Devices, T-Mobile, Dell Technologies and Nvidia.
Democrats have criticized moves made by the president's portfolio managers in the past. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Robert Garcia sent a lengthy letter to Trump in August, saying they want to know who are the money managers in charge of his investments.
"One ******* ysis estimates that you reported more than 14,000 stock trades, worth up to $1.06 billion during your first year in office. The total is likely higher as these reports don't even include transactions worth less than one thousand dollars," reads a passage of the letter.
"The sheer volume of this trading activity and the timing of a number of transactions, raise questions about whether you are using your knowledge of government activities, your official authority, or the vast megaphone provided by the Presidency to make investments or move markets to your personal benefit—and about whether you have been making decisions that boost your portfolio at the expense of taxpayers, the economy, and national security," it adds.

Halle Bailey was a sight to behold in a sculpted black Alex Perry gown, which featured asymmetric jersey draping and a thigh-high slit. The Grammy-nominated singer stepped out in New York City for the premiere of The Debut at the 64th New York Film Festival. She was wearing an all-black ensemble that perfectly blended structure with sultry elegance.

Halle Bailey flaunts toned legs in sleek black Alex Perry leather and jersey gown at the NYFF. For the premiere, Bailey wore a black one-shoulder gown from Alex Perry's Pre-Fall 2026 collection. The floor-length design featured a soft leather bodice with a straight neckline, paired with a contrasting jersey drape that cascaded diagonally across her body. The jersey moved fluidly with her, while the leather added structure to the bodice. The actress embraced one of Perry's more dramatic looks for the occasion.
The asymmetric strap gave the silhouette a modern edge, while the gown itself retails for $2,800 USD. The Australian label is known for sleek, body-conscious evening wear, and this gown fit right in.

Julianne Moore attended the premiere of The Debut during the 2026 New York Film Festival on Wednesday night.
Sonia Moskowitz
The actress wore one of her go-to labels, Bottega Veneta, but surprisingly, not her go-to colour.
Julianne and black have become almost synonymous on the red carpet, so I love that she decided to brighten things up in this cream organza embroidered top and ivory silk trousers, complemented by matching Bottega Veneta Allegra pumps.
The volume and texture of the top immediately made me think of Tracee Ellis Ross, who would absolutely embrace a look like this. But it works just as well for Julianne, with the fluid trousers providing a lovely contrast to all that feather-like texture. It's a refreshing change from the more streamlined silhouettes we've become accustomed to seeing Julianne wear.

Caitríona Balfe joined her co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones for the Sense and Sensibility LA premiere, held at The United Theater on Wednesday.
Earl Gibson III/Deadline via Getty Images
The Irish actress wore a custom Prada pearl-grey silk-wool column dress with an embroidered carré extending into a geometric train in black cotton organza, a detail drawn from the Fall 2026 collection.
The column silhouette and fabric are classic Prada, but it's the embroidered carré cascading into that black train that introduces a romantic element, making this an appropriate choice for a Jane Austen adaptation. I particularly love the contrast between the grey dress and the sheer black overlay.
We could be nitpicky and say the dress needed to be half an inch shorter to avoid that slight break at the hem. We could also question the visible darts, although they're a familiar Prada detail. But despite those minor issues, Caitríona is selling this look to me.

Fresh off the plane from Paris, Emma Stone stepped onto the New York Film Festival red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming film, The Debut.
Theo Wargo/Getty Images for FLC
We were blown away by the bright blue Louis Vuitton tailored look she wore in the front row of the Spring 2027 show, and I was hopeful it would signal a run of bolder fashion choices. But seeing Emma back on the red carpet in this fresh-off-the-runway Louis Vuitton Spring 2027 slip dress, I feel like we're right back where we started.
My main issue is the top half of the dress. The draped neckline and contrasting panel feel awkward, while the pale grey and beige tones wash her out, especially after seeing how well she wore that vivid blue in Paris.
Looking at the runway, I would have much preferred the original yellow version. We already know how good Emma looks in yellow. Her 2014 Atelier Versace dress, 2026 Golden Globes look, Bugonia London premiere look and that iconic La La Land dress are all reminders of how well the colour works for her.

A joke about an old romance has put Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson back in the headlines. The comedian is looking back on it with humor, while she, according to a source, is still sensitive about the subject. The source also says she has taken a firm stance on how she deals with Davidson, and it is not a "chapter of her life she's willing to discuss."
Pete Davidson, 32, recently spoke about his past with Kim Kardashian, calling himself "one of the survivors — the few and the proud." He went on to add, "We're like the Marines." The comedian also maintained that he still has "a lot of love" for the Skims founder, 45. Davidson also added that Kardashian respected his privacy, but the constant cameras were still too much for him. "I knew what I was getting into," he said.
Following his remarks on their brief relationship, a source close to Kardashian spoke to In Touch. The source said Kim remains "hyper sensitive" about Davidson. She has reportedly told people she won't discuss that chapter of her life and "would prefer if they didn't bring it up." The source drew a contrast with her marriage to Kanye West. Leaving West brought relief and freedom, the source said. Davidson ending their relationship, by comparison, brought "rejection and devastation."
According to the source, Davidson knows he hurt Kardashian and feels terrible about it. The source also claimed he is "genuinely happy" that she has moved on with someone else. He would nonetheless "love to build a friendship" with his ex, the source said. Kardashian, however, sees things differently. The source said she has chosen to "draw a firm line under the past" and has essentially banished Pete Davidson from her personal universe. "She wishes him the best," adds the source, "but doesn't need his apologies or friendship."
The source also described how deeply the breakup affected her. It reportedly "crushed her ego" and took a long time to process. The 45-year-old was said to be "madly in love" and convinced they had a future, even if the relationship was short.

Taylor Swift is reportedly generating nearly twice as much jersey search demand as her husband, Travis Kelce. This is according to a new study conducted across the US. The findings highlight how strongly Swift's connection to the NFL star continues to influence interest in football merchandise.
A new ******* ysis by Casino.guru found that searches for a "Taylor Swift jersey" account for around 77% of the search demand recorded for the most-searched NFL player jersey in the country. The figure would place Taylor Swift among the five most in-demand jersey searches if her name were compared directly with NFL players, the study said.
The research also found a notable gap between Swift and Travis Kelce. Searches for Swift's jersey were nearly twice as high as searches for Kelce's jersey across the US. "Search demand for Taylor Swift jerseys is also nearly twice as high as it is for husband Travis Kelce jerseys across the U.S.," Casino.guru data ******* yst Max Barlow wrote in the study. He added that the search volume would "place her inside the top five most in-demand jerseys if compared directly with NFL players."
According to the ******* ysis, Swift also generated more than twice the jersey interest of the state's leading NFL player, Jaxson Dart. However, the study measured online search volume to estimate potential sales interest rather than using audited retail sales figures.
The latest figures contrast sharply with the surge in Kelce's jersey sales after Swift attended one of his games in 2023. Swift watched Kelce play from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, 2023. After her appearance, Fanatics told the ******* ociated Press that Kelce entered the NFL's top five jersey sellers. His merchandise sales jumped nearly 400% across Fanatics' sites, according to NPR. Before the surge, Kelce ranked around 19th among NFL jersey sellers.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's latest appearance has sparked fresh relationship speculation. Body language expert Inbaal Honigman said the couple appeared out of sync during their first joint U.K. outing since returning. The Duke and ******* ss of Sussex were photographed holding hands while walking to a Cotswolds pub. However, their relaxed appearance contrasted with the expert's interpretation of their body language.
According to News24, body language expert Inbaal Honigman ******* yzed photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arriving at The Falkland Arms in the Cotswolds. The images, first published by The Sun, marked the couple's first public appearance together since relocating to Britain.
"They appear out of sync with each other during their first public outing, which could point to a potential clash," Honigman claimed. She alleged the couple displayed "very different body language cues" throughout their walk. The expert pointed to several moments in the photographs. She claimed Harry often looked straight ahead while Meghan focused elsewhere. She also noted that Meghan appeared guarded with one hand across her body, while Harry walked with a more relaxed stride.
According to the report, Honigman also highlighted a moment when Harry touched his ear, describing it as a sign of discomfort. "Their mismatched body language communicates a period of disharmony within their household," she alleged. She further claimed Harry walking several paces behind Meghan as they approached the pub "could be another sign of potential friction."
However, people at the venue reportedly described a very different scene. The Sun quoted a pub insider who said the couple "just acted like locals" during lunch. Meghan reportedly ordered gluten-free beer-battered haddock and chips, while Harry chose a chicken, ham and leek pie.

Paris Hilton turned up the drama for a glamorous night out in Paris. The socialite joined the fashion crowd for the BoF500 Gala, delivering another head-turning moment during Fashion Week. For the occasion, Hilton went all in on sheer dressing with an intricate all-black look.
Hilton wore Annie's Theodora Gown, a floor-length creation constructed almost entirely from delicate black lace. The braless sheer lace dress featured a high neckline, long sleeves, and strategically placed opaque lace panels that contrasted against the transparent fabric.
The gown's sheer construction put plenty of skin on display, with Hilton not wearing anything underneath. Scalloped lace and curved detailing framed her chest and midriff, while a more opaque section provided coverage through the center. Below the hips, the delicate floral lace became completely sheer again, extending all the way down to the floor.
The fitted silhouette hugged Hilton's figure before subtly flaring toward the hem. She kept the all-black theme going with pointed heels visible beneath the transparent skirt.
Paris Hilton's look also received a futuristic styling touch courtesy of narrow black sunglasses. She swept her blonde hair into a high, tousled updo, leaving curled strands loose around her face. Rather than loading up on jewelry, Hilton allowed the elaborate lacework to remain the focus.

Michael Burry called the market's mood "denial," comparing it with 2000 and 2008 and suggesting that phase could last six to nine months.
Ray Dalio warned of a possible U.S. debt crisis within three years as rising interest costs crowd out spending.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent offered a contrasting outlook, saying growth and spending restraint would help the government start "bending the curve."
"The Big Short" investor Michael Burry warned on Tuesday that investors were in "denial" reminiscent of 2000 and 2008, hours after the Nasdaq closed at a record, while Ray Dalio separately cautioned that mounting debt could push the U.S. into a crisis within three years.
"The stock market is quite obviously in its first stage of grief, denial. Per 2000 and 2008, this stage lasts 6-9 months," Burry said on X.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly at odds over work, according to a royal insider. One of them has been busy on the charity circuit and engagements in London and New York, while the other has been enjoying a slower pace. Now, a royal insider says the contrast has become a sore point, and money could be the factor.
Since returning to the UK, Prince Harry has been out and about. Meghan Markle's schedule, by comparison, sounds far gentler. New Idea reports that Markle's days are a mix of business calls for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, going to Pilates or yoga with friends, and school runs for Archie and Lilibet.
A royal insider speaking to the outlet claims Harry would like that to change. "Harry wants Meghan to work," the source says. They add that "while he was at that WellChild event and being offered radio gigs for Meghan, she was having a jolly in a pub with Ellen and Portia."
Money appears to be at the heart of it, as the insider says the couple's funds are shrinking. Keeping their Montecito home is estimated to cost about $1 million. Meghan is said to want it as a safety net if life in the UK does not work out.
Meanwhile, her acting plans have hit obstacles too. In August, a rumor spread that she was in talks with Guy Ritchie's team regarding a role in "The Gentlemen," which streams on Netflix. Series star Theo James dismissed these rumors soon after.

President Donald Trump has appointed far more federal judges who are under 40 than his predecessors — ensuring that his imprint on the judiciary will last for decades.
Over the course of his two terms to date, Trump has appointed 31 people in their 30s to federal judgeships, and at least two more are pending in the Senate, according to a POLITICO ***** ysis of government data. By contrast, President Joe Biden appointed 13 people in their 30s. President Barack Obama appointed just nine judges younger than 40 during his two terms.
A judge in his or her 30s can remain in place for as long as 60 years — there are multiple sitting judges in their 90s and one who is 102 — allowing the president who appointed them to leave a particularly long-lasting imprint on the courts.
"President Trump selects highly-qualified and credentialed judicial nominees who have passed the White House's rigorous vetting process. Wherever there are judicial vacancies, President Trump will select highly qualified nominees with great respect for our Constitution and rule of law to be confirmed expeditiously," White House spokesperson Lauren Bis said.
Trump's young nominees include Samuel Adkisson, an ***** ociate in the White House Counsel's Office who was 33 when Trump nominated him — making him one of the youngest people ever nominated to the federal bench. In his social media post announcing Adkisson's nomination, which is currently pending in the Senate, Trump praised his work on a case that resulted in the Supreme Court widening the president's power to control executive branch agencies.

A quiet pub lunch for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has created considerably more noise online. The Duke and ****** ss of Sussex were photographed holding hands while walking to a historic Cotswolds pub during their latest stay in Britain. Black may be one of the safest colors in formal fashion, but the 2026 Venice Film Festival showed how unpredictable it can become in the right hands. Across premieres and ceremonies, stars embraced lace, velvet, satin, sculptural tailoring and elaborate draping. Instead of relying on color to create impact, designers used texture and silhouette to give each outfit a distinctive personality. Laura Dern, Susan Sarandon, Amal Clooney, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rooney Mara all approached the classic shade differently. Together, their appearances demonstrated why black continues to have such staying power on major red carpets.
Laura Dern embraced intricate detailing for the premiere of Wild Horse Nine. Her sleeveless black Dior gown featured a V neckline, delicate lace and floral embroidery across the upper section. The design transitioned into a fuller shimmering skirt, giving the monochrome look depth through contrasting textures. Black Dior pumps maintained the restrained palette, while a Cartier necklace provided a polished finishing touch.
Susan Sarandon chose a more streamlined interpretation at the premiere of The Echo Chamber. Her black Fendi dress featured long sleeves and an off the shoulder neckline, with a fluid silhouette that followed the body without requiring elaborate embellishment. Statement jewelry, sunglasses and bright red lipstick added personality, demonstrating how accessories can completely change the mood of an otherwise minimalist black dress.
For the festival's opening ceremony, Amal Clooney turned to Tom Ford. Her floor length column gown used rippled fabric panels and subtle leather detailing to create movement and texture. Pointed pumps and a coordinating clutch continued the sleek approach. The result demonstrated how carefully constructed fabric can make a single color visually interesting without overwhelming the overall silhouette.
Maggie Gyllenhaal brought archival fashion into the conversation with an Armani Privé velvet gown originally created in 2015. The design combined sharply defined shoulders, long sleeves and a plunging embellished neckline. Its return more than a decade later also highlighted the growing red carpet practice of revisiting existing fashion rather than treating older couture as something that belongs permanently in an archive.

Léa Seydoux has turned her relationship with Louis Vuitton into one of the most recognizable partnerships on the red carpet. The French actress became an ambassador for the fashion house in 2016, and its designs have accompanied her to film festivals, premieres and major awards ceremonies ever since. Her wardrobe can move from sharp tailoring to elaborate crystal covered gowns without losing its distinctive character. Classic French elegance remains at the center, but unexpected shapes, textures and details keep the looks contemporary. Over the years, Seydoux has shown just how versatile a long term relationship between an actress and a fashion house can become.
At the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Seydoux demonstrated that versatility through several contrasting looks. For the premiere of Under the Silver Lake, she selected an off the shoulder Louis Vuitton column gown featuring a bold geometric pattern. At the screening of Girls of the Sun, she wore another fitted design with a high slit and dramatic neckline. That appearance carried additional significance as Seydoux joined dozens of women on the Cannes steps in a demonstration calling attention to gender inequality within the film industry.
Returning to Cannes in 2019 for Oh Mercy!, Seydoux moved away from the traditional evening gown. Tailored blue trousers, a fitted printed top and a defined waist created a polished alternative to conventional premiere dressing. Red lipstick and Chopard jewelry completed a look that felt sophisticated without relying on elaborate volume.
Her formalwear became increasingly dramatic at subsequent events. At the 2020 Academy Awards, Seydoux appeared in a sculptural white Louis Vuitton gown with a plunging neckline and heavily pleated skirt. For the Vanity Fair celebration afterward, she changed into a flowing red dress. At the 2021 premiere of No Time to Die, she embraced even greater spectacle in a shimmering silver Louis Vuitton cape gown covered with crystals.
The 2022 BAFTA Awards produced another intricate creation. Seydoux wore a strapless black velvet Louis Vuitton gown with a sparkling embellished skirt, continuing her preference for silhouettes that combine simple lines with labor intensive detailing.

Ines de Ramon made a fashion statement at the Chloé spring 2027 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on Thursday in France. The jewelry designer floated to the front row in a Chloé ruffle dress in a striking blue shade, and she paired the feminine design with a pair of Western boots. In the end, Kevin Warsh's Federal Reserve acquitted itself well. For all the uncertainty he had sparked at the previous meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, when he refused to provide any indication of what he was prepared to do to tame stubborn inflation, the chair on Wednesday presided over a unanimous decision to raise interest rates for the first time in three years.
"Today's action starts to show that we're serious about this," he said at the press conference after the meeting, with "this" meaning inflation in excess of the Fed's 2% target for over five years. Welcome though it was, his embrace of economic orthodoxy nonetheless did little to dispel the Keystone Cops quality of governance in Donald Trump's US.
Warsh's resolve – raising rates just a few weeks before elections that will determine whether Republicans retain control of Congress – appeared even more resolute in the face of a veiled threat from White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett, who pointed out to his chums on Fox that "if you want an independent Fed, then one thing the Fed does is it stays out of the way of elections".
The central bankers' parsimonious comments in the press conference following the meeting made a sharp contrast with the more unhinged commentary from other members of the administration, including the president himself, who earlier this month celebrated the resilience of the labor market with a mind-boggling threat to "STOP TRADING WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH WE HAVE A DEFICIT" unless the Fed cut interest rates.
Trump has yet to turn on Warsh in the way he did on his predecessor, Jerome "numbskull" Powell. But the signs are ominous. After the rate hike, Trump went ballistic – spewing more of the random, incoherent thoughts that have become his trademark. "Interest Rates in the United States should be 1%, or less, because we are the Best Credit in the World," he wrote on social media, despite recalcitrant inflation and a budget deficit that is likely to exceed $2tn this year. He again demanded the powers that be to "LOWER THE INTEREST RATES FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND FAST!"

Sept 18 (Reuters) - US equity funds recorded outflows for a fourth consecutive week in the week to September ‌18, as rising crude oil prices heightened inflation ‌concerns and expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike added to investor caution ahead of its policy decision.
US equity funds recorded net redemptions of $31.44 billion during the week, largely matching the $32 billion withdrawn a week earlier, LSEG Lipper data showed.
Crude oil prices rose to ‌four-month highs during the week, fueling inflation concerns and lifting Treasury yields, which weighed on growth-oriented funds.
The Fed raised interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday and signaled that further tightening may be needed to curb inflation fueled by higher energy costs linked to the war in Iran.
Investors withdrew $28.71 billion, $1.73 billion ‌and $3.16 billion from US large-cap, mid-cap and multi-cap funds, respectively. In contrast, small-cap funds attracted $568 million in weekly inflows.

With a dividend yield of 4.3%, Ford (F) is among the highest-yielding constituents of the S&P 500 Index ($SPX). That number would look even more compelling considering Ford's dividend yield is over four times what an average S&P 500 Index constituent pays.
However, a bit of number-crunching tells a different picture. Dividend yield is basically a function of the per-share dividend, which is the numerator in the equation, and the stock price, which is the denominator. Dividend yield rises when the company raises its dividends or the share price falls. More often than not, the latter is true for companies that have a very high dividend yield.

The S&P 500's dividend yield is near its historical lows. Two factors can be blamed for the dip in the world's most popular index's dividend yield. First, tech companies' share in the market-cap-weighted index has soared amid the artificial intelligence (AI) driven rally. Mega-cap tech companies are known to be frugal with dividends, and their rising weightage in the index pulls down its dividend yield. Second, while the annualized dividend per share of the S&P 500 has continued to rise over the years, the increase has been much lower compared to the surge in stock prices.
In contrast, Ford's quarterly dividend has been static since July 2022, when the company raised the payout by 50% to $0.15. Notably, while Ford paid special dividends in the preceding three years to reach its payout targets, it hasn't raised its payout for over four years. Its dividend yield is still high because of its underperforming stock, which has essentially gone nowhere in the last five years and trades 46% below its October 2022 highs.
