Chrissy Metz is opening up about her decision to start taking a GLP-1.
In a new interview with People, the This Is Us alum, 45, said that after years of trying different diets and fitness routines that didn't work, she opted for weight loss medication.
"I just wanted to take care of myself," Metz said.
"I'm not getting any younger. I'm in perimenopause, and there were obesity issues within my family and with my father, and I felt like I've tried so many modalities, whether it was diets or therapy, and none of it really worked for me," she continued.
Metz was skeptical at first, however, about starting a GLP-1, which, per the Cleveland Clinic, are "medications that help lower blood sugar levels and promote weight loss." In addition to being worried that the popular weight loss drugs wouldn't work for her, Metz was scared she would experience some of the horrible side effects often **** ociated with taking the medication, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, per Harvard Health.

CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians were forced to go to their bullpens after rain caused a 2-hour, 23-minute delay just ahead of the second inning on Sunday at Rate Field.
When the game resumed, the Sox turned to 2024 first-round draft pick Hagen Smith.
The lefty struck out three and walked four over two scoreless innings in his major-league debut, aiding the Sox in a 5-3 victory in front of 31,263.
Colson Montgomery hit a tiebreaking, three-run home run during a four-run third inning for the Sox, who won two of three in the important series. With the victory, the first-place Sox (61-56) hold a 3 1/2 game lead over the second-place Detroit Tigers (58-60) in the American League Central. The Guardians (58-61) and Minnesota Twins (58-61) are both four games back.
The Sox also surpassed their win total from last season (60-102).

Baseball feels more organic when Nancy Faust is in a booth with an organ. Her presence in the ballpark this afternoon, which precluded the usual barrage of pop songs, crowd-stimulating noises, and things that my dad would refer to as "canned bullshit," set the tone for what turned out to be an improbably fun day at the ballpark as the White Sox staked themselves a season-high four-game lead in the AL Central with a 5-2 win over the Guardians.
This is a Sox team that has made its hay with youthful energy. But even without the thumping bass that typically blasts from Rate Field's PA system, the action on the field and the feeling in the stands was as vibrant as ever. When it appeared that Cleveland would put a damper on the 30,000 strong crowd's supportive push with three straight hits and two runs against Davis Martin to open the game, the Sox responded with three consecutive hits of their own to start their part of the action.
The Sox only managed to get one run out of their hit parade, though. For a moment, when Guardians starter Joey Cantillo punched out three consecutive hitters to escape the early jam, it seemed as if the building momentum had been stifled.
Then the tarps came out.
One two-hour rain delay later, it felt like it didn't matter. When Tim Herrin took the ball for Cleveland in relief of Cantillo, it was a whole new ballgame. Herrin did his job, but his successor Craig Yoho couldn't. For the second straight day, the Guardians had grabbed themselves a 2-0 lead before falling victim to a big crooked number from the South Siders. After taking an inning to warm up, Miguel Vargas, Randal Grichuk and Braden Montgomery all reached base in succession with two outs before the other Montgomery broke things open with one swing of the bat.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, ex-Steelers quarterback Joshua Dobbs has joined the Lions on a one-year deal, which will mark his second stint in Detroit after he spent time on the team's practice squad in 2022.
Dobbs, who was drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, played in Pittsburgh from 2017 to 2019 and again from 2020 to 2021. On August 6, Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Business announced a private wireless deployment at the Annapolis headquarters of Smartlink, a national digital infrastructure firm, combining carrier-grade Neutral Host cellular coverage with a dedicated CBRS private network in one managed platform. It is a small deal in dollar terms, but it points to where Comcast wants growth to come from next: enterprise connectivity rather than residential cable.
The Smartlink deployment replaces the kind of Distributed Antenna System infrastructure that used to require separate vendors and separate budgets. Comcast Business now delivers cellular coverage and a private network for cameras, access control, and occupancy sensors through a single platform built on licensed CBRS spectrum. It is not an isolated experiment either. Comcast has already rolled out similar systems at the University of Virginia, The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown, and Rocket Arena for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the company is positioning Smartlink as a replicable model for other commercial landlords.
That enterprise push sits on top of a business that still throws off enormous cash. Comcast generated free cash flow of nearly $21.9 billion in fiscal 2025 on revenue of about $123.7 billion, with net income near $20.0 billion, a net margin of 16.2%. Peacock turned profitable for the first time, wireless lines crossed a major subscriber milestone, and the company beat earnings estimates in its most recent quarter. There are still several weeks to go in the summer of 2026, which means that people can only speculate about how good the new-look Los Angeles Lakers will be this coming season. LeBron James is gone, as are Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura, Luke Kennard, Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes, and the Lakers have replaced them with men such as Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Collin ****** ton and Sandro Mamukelashvili, among others.
Some feel the franchise is definitely on the right track to building a championship team around Luka Doncic. Others feel its new players are incapable of getting the job done, and that the franchise gave those players outsized contracts while exhausting virtually all of its trade capital.
Channing Frye, who won the NBA championship with James on the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, said during an episode of the "Road Trippin' Show" that the Lakers won't be able to compete with most of the teams that will make the playoffs in the Western Conference (h/t Fadeaway World).

A three-time All-Star, Guillen played his first 13 of 16 major league seasons with the White Sox. He was the AL rookie of the year in 1985 at age 21, and won a Gold Glove in 1990.
In 13 seasons as a White Sox player, Guillen batted .265 with 24 home runs, 565 RBIs and 163 stolen bases over 1,743 regular-season games. He concluded his playing career with Baltimore, Atlanta and Tampa Bay, and finished with a .264 average, 28 homers and 619 RBIs when he retired in 2000.

Terre Haute legend Tommy John, who's been battling illness for quite some time, wrote a letter to the fans that the New York Yankees posted on social media Saturday as part of their 78th Old-Timers' Day.
John, 83, was unable to attend the live festivities at Yankee Stadium. He has lived in Florida with his wife Cheryl for the last few years.
"A Letter from Tommy John" started with "I want to thank the Yankees organization & the Steinbrenner family for giving me this opportunity to say goodbye to everyone, along with all the friends & fans who followed me throughout my 26-year career."

CHICAGO (AP) — The struggling Chicago White Sox optioned rookie left-hander Noah Schultz and rookie right-hander David Sandlin to Triple-A Charlotte, and recalled highly regarded prospects Hagen Smith and Tanner McDougal before Saturday's game against Cleveland.
The White Sox, who have lost four in a row and five of their last six, entered Saturday at 59-56, in first place in the AL Central.
The 23-year-old Schultz left Friday's 8-2 loss to the Guardians after getting just one out and allowing two runs on three hits. He was relieved by Sandlin, who closed out the first, then tossed three scoreless innings before allowing five runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.
Schultz made 14 starts but struggled with consistency. He's 3-9 with a 6.60 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings.
Manager Will Venable said he made a mistake on Friday when he went to to mound in the first after pitching coach Zach Bove had already visited Schultz earlier in the inning. That forced the White Sox to bring in Sandlin earlier than wanted for a 5 1/3-inning outing.
