Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is reportedly the previously unnamed customer behind Hut 8 Corp.'s (NASDAQ:HUT) Beacon Point data center leases in Texas. The Financial Times identified Nvidia as the tenant on July 28, citing five people familiar with the arrangement. Nvidia discussed its work with infrastructure partners but neither confirmed nor denied that it was the customer. Hut 8 has also not publicly named the tenant.
That attribution is important, but the contract math also needs equal attention. Hut 8 disclosed on July 20 that a second 15-year lease for 352 megawatts of IT capacity doubled the same investment-grade tenant's footprint to 704 MW. The two leases give the campus a $19.6 billion base-term contract value. The often-quoted $50.2 billion figure applies only if renewal options are exercised, so it is neither guaranteed revenue nor the present value of a firm $50 billion obligation.
If the FT's reporting is correct, Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is not relevant merely because Beacon Point will use AI chips. As the reported lease counterparty, it would support rent on 704 MW of Hut 8 capacity and could turn that capacity into a deployment channel for customers buying Nvidia systems. The FT said Nvidia could sublease the site to neocloud partners that buy its GPUs and sell AI computing services. No sublease has been announced. Nvidia's public response instead emphasized DSX, its architecture for designing, building and operating large AI factories with ecosystem partners.
Hut 8's link is contractual. Tenant rent underpins the $19.6 billion base-term value and the credit case for the project, while Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ:HUT) must supply the energized buildings on schedule. The company closed $4.25 billion of non-recourse, investment-grade senior secured notes for Beacon Point in June and expects the first Phase 2 data hall in the second quarter of 2028. It must still manage construction, tenant concentration, and the financing demands of a 1-gigawatt development.
Insider Monkey's database showed a small decline in hedge funds backing the stock. As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, 60 hedge-fund portfolios reported long positions in HUT at March 31, 2026, down from 64 at December 31, 2025.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) and Core Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ:CORZ) announced an infrastructure partnership on July 28 that starts with more than 500 megawatts of U.S. data center capacity in 2027 and can expand to 2.5 gigawatts.
The commercial link is a deployment bottleneck. AI accelerators cannot generate revenue without energized land, cooling, networking, and buildings designed for high-density racks. Core Scientific supplies that infrastructure, while the companies will jointly design facilities around AMD Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and ROCm software. For AMD, reserving compatible capacity can turn customer interest into installable systems rather than stranded chip demand, although the agreement discloses no GPU-purchase commitment.
For illustration purposes only. Photo by Brett Sayles on Pexels
The full 2.5 GW is not firm capacity. Core Scientific said the partnership is anchored by 15-year agreements for approximately 530 MW across five sites and more than $14 billion of potential base contracted revenue. That company estimate is not recognized revenue, and no disclosed GPU-purchase commitment lets investors translate it into AMD chip sales.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) will receive market-priced warrants to buy Core Scientific common stock, subject to commercial conditions. That feature aligns AMD with the infrastructure provider's execution and gives it potential equity upside. It may also dilute existing CORZ holders if warrants vest and are exercised, but the companies did not disclose enough terms to quantify that effect.

My earliest memory of St James' Park was walking up the narrow cobbled street opposite the Strawberry before being amazed by the brutalist concrete East Stand with its rippled concrete columns supporting the giant cantilever roof.
Incidentally, Faulkner Browns Architects used the rippling concrete effect to "soften" the brutalism.
Personally, I think it does the opposite.
Instead of clean smooth lines we have bites taken out, not just brutal but rough. Awe inspiring architecture to an eight year old.
The beautiful Georgian buildings adjacent were nowhere near as impressive. The city centre was full of classical sandstone buildings with much greater gravitas.

Night View Capital, an investment management firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter highlights that AI is a transformative force, comparable to electricity due to its industry-wide impact. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Although fears about the software sector have led to significant declines in stock prices, the letter argues that AI integration will ultimately benefit many companies. They recognize that some software firms may experience temporary slowdowns, but most will adapt and succeed by embracing AI, citing advantages like systems of record, high switching costs, entrenched distribution, and rapid AI adoption. The sharp decline in software valuations appears to be an overreaction rather than a sign of industry failure. Nightview believes the so-called "software panic of 2026" is temporary, and resilient businesses will adapt and flourish in the age of AI. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Night View Capital highlighted Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK). Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) is a software company that develops 3D design, engineering, and entertainment technology solutions. On July 27, 2026, Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) closed at $225.91 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $47.67 billion. Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) posted a one-month return of 25.10%, while its shares lost 20.68% over the past 52 weeks.
Night View Capital stated the following regarding Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) makes the tools that architects and engineers use to design the physical world. The buildings, the bridges, the machines. This is a business protected by decades of professional habit, file formats, and training, and by the simple fact that when you are designing something that people will stand inside, you want the trusted tool. We held our position roughly steady."
Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 67 hedge fund portfolios held Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 81 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the risk and potential of Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and doing so within a shorter time frame. If you are looking for an AI stock that is more promising than Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) and that has 10,000% upside potential, check out our report about this cheapest AI stock.

McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) is among the top dividend stocks in President Trump's portfolio, according to his disclosures earlier this year. MCD has about 50 years of consecutive dividend increases under its belt. The company is scheduled to announce earnings on August 4. The stock is down about 10% so far this year. Is this an opportunity to buy?
McDonald's real business isn't food. About 95% of its restaurants are run by franchisees, not the company. McDonald's keeps the land and the buildings, and it collects rent and royalties on top of the franchise fee. Franchised locations run at roughly an 83% operating margin. Company-run restaurants sit closer to 12%, before corporate costs even get factored in. Franchisees eat the labor bills, the food cost swings, the day-to-day headaches. McDonald's just cashes the check.
Revenue was up 9.4% year over year. Comparable sales grew 3.8% globally and 3.9% in the US, and a chunk of that came from the McValue menu plus a Netflix crossover with K-Pop Demon Hunters that apparently got younger customers walking in.
Systemwide sales (this counts every franchised store, not just company-owned ones) were up 11% on a reported basis.

Joe Rogan claims there will be little debate in the future that Israel committed a "genocide" in Gaza.
The veteran comic made the claim during the Wednesday episode of his podcast, in which he said the idea of genocide by Israel would become "universally accepted."
Rogan said he can't see how anyone can support Israel's war in Gaza, even when considering it was spurred by the Hamas terror attack in October 2023 where about 1,200 people were slaughtered and hundreds of hostages were taken.
"Like, how could anybody defend that? I don't even know how many people are dead," Rogan said. "You have a complete wipeout of a city — like 90% of Gaza is gone, or whatever the percentage is. You look at the buildings — you look at what it used to look like, [and] you look at what it looks like now — like, this is defensible?"
He got onto the topic after his guest, actor Tim Robbins, complained it was "nuts" ex-wife Susan Sarandon lost her agent and had a hard time finding work because of her criticism of Israel and comments after the 10/7 attack.

Detroit — No windows were broken, dang it.
But Rickie Fowler, good company man that he is as a longtime Rocket pitchman, did his best to go viral, plunking the side of the new Hudon's building with one of his tee shots during Par 3 in the D.
"I kind of broke the ice, and then there was a couple others," Fowler said as the sun was starting to set on downtown Detroit on a mild but breezy summer Tuesday night. "With the wind, the buildings were in play.
No broken windows to report in downtown Detroit. But it wasn’t for a lack of trying from Rickie Fowler. He’s a good company man. pic.twitter.com/R5xC5cUJgb

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Patrick Surtain II felt like he was in a maze. Quinn Meinerz was glad his truck wasn't baking in the Colorado sun.
The Denver Broncos prepared to open training camp this week from their new $175 million headquarters, which was designed with players in mind.
"Oh, this is incredible," said Meinerz, the Broncos' perennial All-Pro guard. "I'm finding new things every time. I've just stayed on the first floor. I got to park underground. When I get done with practice my truck's not going to be 150 degrees. That's a nice little thing."
The Broncos will hold their first practice of their acclimation period Wednesday in the shadows of the new state-of-the-art facility funded by owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner.
It was designed to keep players from having to exert extra energy in a superfluous manner, such as long walks to their weight room like they had to make in their old headquarters across the football fields, buildings that will be torn down after training camp next month.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — First responders searched damaged homes and buildings on Tuesday for possible victims of a powerful tornado that carved a path of destruction through several northeastern Wisconsin communities.
The twister touched down in the Fox Cities region, which includes Appleton, Menasha and Neenah, at around 1 p.m. Monday and remained on the ground for more than 20 minutes as it cut a roughly 12-mile path of destruction through an area, the National Weather Service reported. It was nearly a mile (1.6 kilometers) across at its widest, and it destroyed homes and businesses, flipped cars and knocked down rows of power lines in the region, which is roughly 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Milwaukee.
The timing — it blew in when most people were awake and after warnings had been issued — could be why there have been no reported deaths, authorities said.
"I think what helped us was it was during the week," Menasha Police Chief Matt Albrecht said at a news conference Tuesday. "Everybody was at work. It was the middle of the day. Most people were not at home and at their place of employment."
Authorities said a number of people were injured and treated at hospitals, but they didn't know exactly how many or how seriously.

LIMA, Peru (AP) — A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Andes region of Peru, killing at least six people, injuring more than 30 and displacing 300, authorities said Sunday.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake struck on Saturday at 9:24 p.m., with its epicenter located 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) west-southwest of the city of Sicaya in Huancayo province. It was 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) deep.
Peru's National Civil Defense Institute said in a statement the total number of missing is still unknown. Several buildings collapsed or suffered structural damage, including the historic "Santiago de León" church and former convent in Chongos Bajo, which was built in 1565 and designated as national heritage site for being a 16th century "architectural gem."
Luis Vásquez, head of the local civil defense office, told journalists that the use of rustic adobe materials in construction in that Andean area "has contributed to the greater impact and damage."
Earthquakes are frequent in Peru, which is located in the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire."

Madison Small Cap Fund, managed by Madison Funds, released its Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The small-cap market showed exceptional strength in Q2, largely due to anticipated peace in the Middle East. The Russell 2000 Index began to rally, propelled by Information Technology, Health Care, and Industrials. The Madison Small Cap Fund (Class I) returned 12.7% in the quarter, underperforming the Russell 2000's 21.5% and Russell 2500's 20.2%. While strong gains were seen in Info Tech investments, recent investments in underperforming software companies negatively impacted overall performance. Nevertheless, confidence in the long-term potential of these software investments remains high. The firm is optimistic about small caps, noting their recent outperformance over large caps, recovery in certain software sectors, and improvements in some housing stocks toward the end of the second quarter. Please review the Fund's top five holdings to gain insights into their key selections for 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Madison Small Cap Fund highlighted Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) as a newly added position. Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) is a US-based networking, connectivity, and industrial automation solutions company that enables data infrastructure to unlock new possibilities for its customers. On July 16, 2026, Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) closed at $101.20 per share. One-month return of Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) was -17.97%, and its shares lost 20.93% over the past 52 weeks. Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) has a market capitalization of $3.94 billion.
Madison Small Cap Fund stated the following regarding Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC) is a 120-year-old specialty networking and connectivity company that has spent the past six years deliberately transforming from a commodity wire and cable maker to an integrated IT/OT (information technology/operational technology) networking and solutions provider, serving industrial automation, smart buildings, broadband service providers, and data centers. The economics of the business have been steadily improving, with expanding gross and operating margins. Recently, the company announced the acquisition of Ruckus Networks, adding Wi-Fi Enterprise switching and an AI-driven cloud platform. The stock sold off significantly on this news, but we think this is a transformational acquisition with limited integration risk that will step up both the company's profitability and growth rate. Belden is a sticky industrial component and connector business with deepening moats, and we believe this acquisition has the potential to drive a material upward re-rating of the company's valuation. Our intrinsic value estimate is $175."

Preformed Line Products Company (NASDAQ:PLPC) was among Jim Cramer's stock calls on Mad Money, as he advised investors to stick with the largest tech companies in the market. Cramer was bullish on the stock during the episode, as he stated:
After decades where software was in charge, now it's all about setting up massive buildings, filling them with tech, and even building new power plants to supply them with electricity. That's how something like a Caterpillar's become a big AI winner, and it's why Preformed Line Products keeps winning. In its latest quarter, the company delivered a monster earnings beat… Look, the electric grid hasn't grown much in this country in the last couple of decades, but now there's a colossal amount of spending to make the grid much faster and more powerful… I think PLPC is a great derivative play on the market's biggest theme. I think you're getting a nice entry point here given the recent pullback. Sure, it's doubled over the last year, but I don't think it's crazy anymore to buy a stock like Preformed at 35 times earnings in this data center-obsessed market.
So here's the bottom line… Preformed Line Products Company is a small but critical part of the AI build-out. If you believe in this story and you believe the company can earn nearly $13 per share in 2028, which is what the **** ysts are projecting, then you've got my blessing to put a position on right here. Now, look, ideally, the stock would pull back a little bit more… Because I don't see the data center build-out slowing down anytime soon. But the stock has already pulled back. I say you're getting it at a much better level than I thought you'd get anytime soon.

New York City's famed Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum was among a number of Manhattan buildings that recently tested positive for the bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease amid the city's latest outbreak.
The city health department on Friday released a list of 31 buildings on the Upper East Side that have been ordered to clean and disinfect their cooling towers as the city deals with the latest outbreak of the disease, which is a serious form of pneumonia.
The distinctive, cylindrical-shaped art museum was among 19 that have already completed the remediation, according to the department's list. The rest were expected to complete the work by Saturday.
City officials stressed the positive test results do not confirm any of the buildings as the source of outbreak as the tests conducted could not distinguish between live and dead bacteria.
The museum was also not shuttered at any point because of the positive test or remediation work, they said.

Before July and August, traditionally Jersey's two hottest months, had started, the island had already experienced a pair of heatwaves and record temperatures.
Climate change caused by humans has made heatwaves more frequent, intense, and last longer.
While some people enjoyed spending time on the beach during the hot weather, for many others temperatures over 30C (86F) in May and June were more of an endurance.
With Jersey now in the middle of its third heatwave in less than two months, and more hot weather increasingly likely, how can the island prepare its public buildings and homes?
Jersey had its hottest ever May and June this year, when it hit by what Jersey Met described as "unprecedented heat".

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fast-spreading blaze prompted evacuation orders Friday afternoon in a sparsely populated area of Los Angeles County.
The brush fire sparked around 1 p.m. under dry and scorching hot conditions in a remote high desert region about 45 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of LA, according to the LA County Fire Department. Temperatures in the area soared to nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius).
The fire reached about 2,700 acres (1,092 hectares) by evening, Angeles National Forest officials said on the social media platform X. It's unclear how many buildings are threatened by the blaze.
The American Red Cross opened a shelter at a YMCA in Los Angeles County.
The nearest town to its east is Piñon Hills, a census-designated community of about 7,200 people in San Bernardino County. Parts of the town were under an evacuation warning by Friday evening.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's plans to build a skyline-altering arch in the nation's capital is getting another review from the federal commission whose approval he needs, but the agency's staff says the project should be revised before it gets the go-ahead.
The National Capital Planning Commission is meeting Thursday, and the Republican president's proposed 250-foot (76-meter) arch is one of the items on the agenda.
In a report, the agency's staff recommends that the commission approve the preliminary site and building plans for the arch. But the staff also recommends that the design be tweaked to comply with a federal law that limits building heights in downtown Washington to preserve the city's famous skyline. The planning commission applies the law during its approval process.
"Staff suggests the Commission request the applicant revise the project design to comply with the Height of Buildings Act and return to NCPC for final approval," the 185-page report says.
Applying the law "would require design revisions to redistribute the height between the main structure, habitable roof structure and statuary," the report said. But even with the recommended revisions, the arch, a public observation deck and three gilded topper statues would still reach Trump's desired 250-foot height, the report said.

The main suspect in a bomb attack that wounded a Ukrainian tycoon on Monday in Monaco is a Ukrainian woman who disguised herself as a man, local authorities say.
Named as 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska in an Interpol Red Notice, she last resided in Germany and has a tattoo, possibly of a snake, running down her right arm from her shoulder to elbow.
After the attack, the suspect fled to neighboring France, then drove to Italy in a German-registered car that had been rented for the operation, prosecutors added.
The sophistication of the bomb used indicates that more than one perpetrator was involved, prosecutors said, adding that two men were arrested in Monaco before being released due to lack of evidence.
The main suspect has been the subject of a manhunt ever since a bomb exploded four days ago in the entranceway of one of Monaco's fanciest apartment buildings, targeting Ukrainian-born businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, according to CNN's French affiliate BFMTV.

It is now "a race against time" to get the required help to Venezuela after the South American country was hit by two "immense" earthquakes last week, Oxfam has said.
Two strong earthquakes struck Venezuela within seconds of one another on Wednesday, causing untold damage in several parts of the country.
At least 1,700 people are so far known to have died in the 7.2 and 7.5-magnitude quakes, which caused hundreds of buildings to collapse and leaving many trapped in the rubble.
Magnus Corfixen, the humanitarian lead for Oxford-based Oxfam GB, said the charity's "first priority" was establishing an "overview of the situation" with its partners on the ground.
The charity has launched an emergency appeal for those affected.

Other sites beyond South Station are in the air as well. One is the former Boston Flower Exchange in the South End, where The Abbey Group has approvals to develop four buildings. That property, however, is about a mile from four T stations, which might be tough on game days.

The 250th anniversary of America's liberation from a king kicked off with a campaign-style rally on the National Mall by President Donald Trump, whose face already stares down from banners fluttering from federal buildings across the nation's capital.
The images illustrate how the Republican president has dominated daily life since returning to power and, to some, evoke more the style of a monarch than the leader of the world's oldest democracy. But it's also how he has wielded that power that has led to comparisons of an imperial reign.
Since returning to office in January 2025, Trump has nominated one of his personal lawyers to serve as attorney general, ordered the Department of Justice to pursue his political enemies, deployed the U.S. Marines to the nation's second largest city and leveraged the presidency to enrich himself and his family.
He has demanded that comedians who mock him be fired, has slapped his name on the Kennedy Center, has pushed to seize control of elections, has filed lawsuits against news organizations whose coverage he disliked and has sued his own government seeking $10 billion in taxpayer money.
With the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding fast approaching, Trump's own celebrations have overshadowed the bipartisan, congressionally authorized commission that was supposed to coordinate events commemorating the moment. He plans to return to the National Mall on July Fourth for what he calls a "Trump rally."
