Tottenham are interested in signing Cody Gakpo, with Sky Sports reporting the Liverpool forward is among the club's attacking targets this summer.
New Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi is keen to add at least one wide forward after strengthening his midfield and defence, but Liverpool are reluctant to sell the Netherlands international unless they first secure a replacement.
They also report Liverpool are expected to make a formal move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, although the France international would command a huge fee, with PSG valuing the 23-year-old at around £145million.
Gakpo, who has four years remaining on his Liverpool contract, is regarded as one of the more experienced attackers in Andoni Iraola's squad and can also provide cover through the middle while Hugo Ekitike continues his recovery from an Achilles injury.
Spurs are also keen on signing Manchester City winger Savinho.

For now, Mercedes has no plans to give Kimi Antonelli preferential treatment to help secure his first Formula 1 world championship, despite what happened in the 2025 ******* le battle between the two McLaren drivers and Max Verstappen. The team confirmed that winning the constructors' championship remains its primary target.
For most of the 2025 campaign, McLaren had the fastest car, and the constructors' ******* le was already wrapped up by the Singapore Grand Prix. However, the drivers' ******* le nearly slipped through the team's grasp.
The Woking-based team did not favour either Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri, and in the end, Verstappen nearly 'stole' the world ******* le, finishing just two points behind the Briton in the standings.
In 2026, Mercedes finds itself in a similar situation. At the moment, Antonelli leads the drivers' standings, but George Russell is not out of contention either. Lewis Hamilton is currently sitting in second place, and it is possible that the Mercedes drivers could take so many points off each other that, ultimately, the Ferrari driver could take advantage and win the biggest prize.
Nevertheless, Mercedes refuses to throw its full support behind Antonelli. "The simple principle is, if Mercedes can win the race, Mercedes must win the race. That comes first," deputy team principal Bradley Lord said in response to GPblog's question while speaking to a select group of media.

After a few days of training camp, one undrafted Washington Commanders rookie continues to stand out: wide receiver Jaden Bradley.
This isn't new for Bradley, the 6-foot-3 wideout from UNLV. He stood out during the spring in OTAs and minicamp. That trend has continued early in training camp. Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin was seen mentoring Bradley last week.
McLaurin shared his excitement about the undrafted rookie.
"I think he has a unique skillset where he's a bigger receiver, but he moves very smoothly," McLaurin said. "His releases are very smooth. He's sudden in his releases. He has really good feet at the top. He kind of has a pro-like feel. For him, it's just gonna be about detailing it, splits, timing. When you're running down the field, keeping your shoulder close so you can track the ball over your shoulder. Red zone, it's not as much ***** e, so you gotta hold that defender off so you can give the quarterback more ***** e to throw in that back corner of the end zone. Just little tidbits like that I try to pass along with him, but he's a sponge, man. He's been asking questions since he first got here and obviously he's undrafted."None of this means that Bradley will make the 53-man roster. While much has been made of the Commanders' need for a legit No. 2 receiver, there is great depth at the position. Could Bradley have a strong enough summer to force his way into one of those final spots?
Now, it's head coach Dan Quinn's turn to praise Bradley.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to let one star walk for free. It's just crazy at this point.
Liverpool are currently figuring out what to do with their squad. This isn't the group they'll finish the transfer window with, we imagine, and both incomings and outgoings are possible.
Now, we know the World Cup pauses the domino effect seen every transfer window but Liverpool have been particularly slow this year. They haven't replaced Ibrahima Konate (and we're not sure they will), haven't decided what to do at right-back with Conor Bradley out long-term and, above all, haven't found a winger to replace Mohamed Salah.
Instead, they're working hard on a deal for Bradley Barcola, who plays on the opposite side. Genuinely, we have no idea what will happen there.

Bayern Munich has long been an admirer of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola.
The talented 23-year-old is someone who the Bavarians have wanted to bring in the past two summers. Now, though, Barcola is ready to leave PSG, but there is "no room at the inn." Given that, Barcola could be looking at a future with Liverpool, who seems to be spending massive amounts every summer now:
Bayern Munich are following this potential transfer of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool. Last summer, and the summer before, they were always in contact with the Frenchman's management. The 23-year-old is a player on the shortlist, and even this summer they knocked on Barcola's door to check his situation and what his feelings were for the future, as his current contract runs out in 2028. There are no negotiations with PSG, at the moment, for a contract extension, so he's getting cheaper and cheaper every year.
The left-sided winger is too expensive this summer for Bayern Munich, but it's a pity that he's not too expensive for Liverpool right now! They are closer to this deal. Yan Diomande, it seems, will be signing for Real Madrid, so Liverpool really need a player like Barcola now. Bayern, on the other hand, could use a player like this in the future. We don't know what's happening with Michael Olise long-term. This summer, of course, we know he's staying put, but next summer the big question will be whether Olise signs a new contract or if Bayern will be forced to sell him.
The number one option to replace Michael Olise would be, as far as Bayern Munich are concerned, Bradley Barcola. If Liverpool are there, however, and if he's signing for the Reds, there's no chance for Bayern. But next summer, there could be a chance if he's staying in Paris for another season.

JENNERSTOWN — A duo of Somerset County drivers earned wins, while two other competitors saw victory lane for the first time in years, Saturday, Aug. 1 at Jennerstown Speedway.
The night kicked off with a dandy in the Somerset Trust Fast 4s. Bradley Marsh raced between the leaders and took the advantage at the green flag. He led the first five laps of the 15-lap feature, but Seth Nedrow dashed past Marsh for the lead with nine to go.
The two battled, sometimes door-to-door, down the stretch. A week after suffering a bad crash right before taking the checkered flag, Nedrow exacted some revenge with his third win of the season.

Red Sox could make blockbuster move for Orioles All-Star Adley Rutschman before trade deadline originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The trade deadline is almost here, and the Boston Red Sox need to make some moves if they want to be real contenders come October.
While shortstop seems to be their main concern, getting a better catcher should be their top priority, as their current platoon is one of the worst in the MLB. While a guy like Hunter Goodman may be a bit too pricey, Boston might be able to make a deal with a division rival who's also in the hunt.
Joe Nicholson - Imagn Images
According to NY Post's Joel Sherman, the Baltimore Orioles want to deal and are listening to offers on their three-time All-Star catcher, Adley Rustchman. They also aren't against trading in the division either, so Boston has a chance.

Orioles 22-year-old former first overall pick given 40% chance of being traded originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Baltimore Orioles are sitting on the outside looking in for the AL Wild Card this season, though they're only 1.5 games back of a spot. But that position in the postseason hunt has resulted in a bit of an odd situation.
The 54-56 Orioles, entering Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, might end up selling at the trade deadline. Taylor Ward and other rentals make sense, but Adley Rutschman might be on the move, too.
However, the more surprising player who, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel, has a 40% chance of being traded this summer is 22-year-old infielder and former No. 1 overall pick Jackson Holliday.
"19. Jackson Holliday, 2B, Baltimore Orioles. Chance of being traded: 40%," Passan and McDaniel project. "... Since the All-Star break, he is hitting over .400, and though the slug hasn't arrived, Holliday is still just 22 and would likely be flipped for pitching."

3 reasons why Orioles might trade Adley Rutschman by 2026 MLB deadline originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Baltimore Orioles are in an interesting spot as a franchise, because on one hand, they're still in the postseason hunt, while on the other reveals a chance to be major sellers and land a haul to shake up their current core.
There's been plenty of attention on Taylor Ward in the outfield as a trade target, but catcher Adley Rutschman, even on the injured list, is receiving significant interest. But, will the Orioles trade their fan favorite All-Star catcher?
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel, there are three good reasons why a trade of Rutschman has a real chance of happening this season.
"Rutschman's renaissance this season has come at a great time for Baltimore: He's a free agent after next season, Baltimore has Samuel Basallo locked up long term, and there's almost no chance of the sides coming together on a long-term deal," Passan and McDaniel write.

Liverpool will be wanting to improve their Premier League standing during the 2026-27 season.
The Anfield outfit only mustered up a fifth-place finish last time around which, for a team who were supposed to be defending their ***** le, was a catastrophic result.
The poor performances from most of the Reds' first-team squad led fans to demand that changes were made at Anfield.
And, although the summer window started off pretty well as Liverpool welcomed Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz through the doors, since the Spaniard's arrival, no concrete moves have been made for any other players.
Indeed, rumours about Liverpool preparing a bid for Bradley Barcola have started to emerge but, for now, they're just rumours.

Olivia Attwood has made another apparent reference to Emily Rose Moloney after previously writing about a "bit on the side" and a "professional bench warmer" amid the fallout from her relationship with Bradley Dack.
The former Love Island contestant reacted to a TikTok comparing women named Emily with women named Olivia, leaving a brief comment days after Dack was photographed spending time with Moloney.
Attwood did not name Moloney or explicitly state that her reaction concerned Dack.
The TikTok carried the caption, "You're either an Emily or an Olivia and I know who I'd rather be." Attwood appeared in the comment section with "OMG" and a crying emoji, according to The Sun.
Dack had recently been photographed with Moloney, whom he knew before his long-running relationship with Attwood. The photographs showed Dack and Moloney walking together and returning to a London property. Their appearance followed reports earlier in the year that they had reconnected.

The last place Cincinnati Reds are limping towards the August 3rd trade deadline at just 51-57, still buried in the busy National League Wild Card standings 5.5 games back of the final spot. That comes with the caveat that there are six NL clubs they'd have to jump to earn their way into that spot – the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Miami Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Nationals, and St. Louis Cardinals.
At quick glance, at least three of those clubs are likely going to be buyers at the deadline. So, the Reds are between a rock and a hard place, and anything other than a miracle win streak this weekend will likely send them into at least some mode of selling.
Per Bob Nightengale of the USA Today, that won't include moving Hunter Greene. Cincinnati's ace had seen his name pop up in trade rumors pretty much ever since Chase Burns signed his $105 million extension as the rest of the baseball world began to wonder how the typically frugal Reds would accommodate both on the payroll long-term.
That said, they've long been rumored to be shopping their litany of players who are destined to reach free agency at season's end, and that includes catcher Tyler Stephenson. He's been red-hot of late, too, slashing .339/.400/.523 dating back to June 4th, and that's caught the eye of the catching-needy New York Yankees, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.
Yankees are among many teams to check on 3-time All-Star/switch-hitting catcher Adley Rutschman. NYY is casting a wide net for catching need. Ryan Jeffers, pending free agent, seemed logical but Twins suggest they’re a buyer now. Tyler Stephenson, others are on NYY list

Football chiefs will consider whether to push for a vote of no confidence on Gianni Infantino following another another day of drastic developments surrounding the embattled Fifa president.
But Infantino's game-breaking Fifa Forward Enterprise plan is described as "not dead yet", with the Swiss official still pushing on with his controversial plans after the global governing body issued another round of "clarifications" overnight.
Sources have even spoken of Infantino continuing on in the office as normal. Meanwhile, many outside his decreasingly small circle are highly curious as to what he is "feeling" right now, as a previously invulnerable position has been left so exposed in a matter of days.

The possibility of Bradley Barcola becoming a Liverpool player is a genuine one, with the Reds set to make a bid for the PSG winger.
Liverpool are long-standing admirers of the France international and engaged in discussions last summer about his availability but eventually decided they didn't want to block the pathway of Rio Ngumoha.
With Mohamed Salah gone, the situation has changed. At half-time against Wrexham in New York, Ngumoha came on and played down the right - another indication that he will be used on both flanks this season. The 17-year-old was fortunate with the deflection for his goal but his directness makes life tough for defenders.
"All the coaching staff are just telling me to play my normal game really, whether that's going inside or outside. I've been working on it in training anyway, playing on the right and the left - just being unpredictable really," said Ngumoha.
He is a special talent while Victor Munoz, who Liverpool signed from Osasuna for £34m, is another one with plenty of potential. However, without Salah, Liverpool need high quality from the outset and Barcola could immediately provide that.

Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Monaco for the signing of playmaker Maghnes Akliouche, the Press **** ociation understands.
Champions League holders PSG have tracked France international Akliouche all summer, but after multiple bids were rejected by their Ligue 1 rivals, Liverpool made an enquiry for the 24-year-old earlier in July to provide competition in the battle for the left-footed attacker's signature.
However, an agreement has finally been struck between PSG and Monaco for the services of Akliouche, who will depart for a fee in the region of €50 million ($57.4 million).
Akliouche will leave Monaco after 51 goal involvements in 139 appearances for his boyhood club.
The arrival of Akliouche at PSG may spark a domino effect in the transfer window and could allow Bradley Barcola to leave Parc des Princes amid interest from Liverpool.

Liverpool's latest transfer thinking appears to have turned towards Bradley Barcola, with the Paris Saint-Germain winger emerging as a major target as planning continues for life after Mohamed Salah. The idea is easy to understand on talent alone. Barcola is young, quick, refined in possession and already seasoned at elite level. Yet once the excitement settles, the shape of the move becomes more complicated.
Liverpool are preparing an opening bid for the France international, who is valued by PSG at around £145 million. With performance-related clauses reportedly capable of taking the package to €150 million, this is the sort of deal that alters the landscape of a window. It would not be a speculative addition or a market opportunity seized on a whim. It would be a declaration, one that places Barcola at the centre of Liverpool's attacking future.
That is precisely why the positional debate matters so much. Salah's departure at the end of last season left a structural absence as much as an emotional one. Replacing his goals is one challenge, replacing his function another. Liverpool lost a right-sided forward who shaped the geometry of every game. The question now is whether Barcola answers that need, or whether he solves a different problem entirely.
There is no dispute over the player's ability. Jamie Carragher made that clear when discussing the move, saying: "He's a great player, there's no doubt about that – I'd love to get Barcola at Liverpool,". But his wider concern goes to the architecture of the squad. Liverpool, in his view, are better stocked on the left than they are on the right, which makes a huge investment in Barcola feel curious unless it is part of a broader redesign.
That concern has substance. Cody Gakpo offers a reliable option from the left, Rio Ngumoha remains one of the club's more intriguing younger attackers and Víctor Munoz has also been added. In isolation, signing another left-sided player of elite pedigree sounds attractive. In practical terms, though, elite squads still require a certain balance. Too much accumulation on one flank can create a shortage elsewhere, particularly when the outgoing player was as singular as Salah.

PSG have no interest in making a move for AFC Bournemouth winger Rayan (19), according to Le Parisien. The Brazilian international was rumoured to be of interest for the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners, but those rumours have been quashed by the Ligue 1 champions. PSG had an interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé, but the Ivory Coast international appears destined to join José Mourinho's Real Madrid side.
More movement is expected for PSG to bolster Luis Enrique's attacking options until the end of the summer transfer window. Les Parisiens have reached a €50m agreement with Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco to sign Maghnes Akliouche. The versatile France international is expected to replace Lee Kang-in – who joined Atlético de Madrid in a €40m move – and bring competition for the right-winger to Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola.
However, the latter could be sold with Liverpool expressing an interest. The Reds are expected to submit a bid to PSG. Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 champions also need a back-up striker after parting ways with Gonçalo Ramos. 2026 World Cup winner Ferran Torres and Belgium's Charles De Ketelaere are billed as the favourites to bring depth.

Liverpool truly signed a star worth nearly €200m at the last possible moment. It's an incredible deal in hindsight.
Liverpool are currently working on a deal for Bradley Barcola with Paris Saint-Germain. The big problem is that PSG want a sensational amount for their third-choice winger - around €180m, per reports.
The Athletic are among those quoting that figure. It's truly bizarre, really, as this would be the third most-expensive transfer of all time for a player who doesn't even start big games for his club.
Still, if that's who Liverpool want, that's who they want, and they'll be at least tempted to pay the money to get him. Even if they'll certainly attempt to talk PSG down a bit.
But this is really just a consequence of a crazy summer of spending. We've seen Elliot Anderson, a fantastic player but one without UEFA Champions League experience or anything beyond two years of good football, go for £116m.

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles acquired catcher Jake Rogers from the Detroit Tigers on Thursday for minor league right-hander Zane Barnhart.
The Tigers designated Rogers for ******* ignment earlier in the week, and it wasn't a huge surprise Baltimore was interested. The Orioles' top two catchers — Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo — are on the injured list. They used Sam Huff and Chadwick Tromp as replacements, getting almost no offense from either, before designating Huff for ******* ignment and bringing up Yohel Pozo from Double-A.
Rogers is batting .161 with three home runs and nine RBIs this season. His career average is .197.
Since July 19, Huff, Tromp and Pozo have gone 2 for 35 at the plate for the Orioles.
Barnhart has gone 2-3 with a 4.05 ERA in 31 relief appearances this year for Double-A Chesapeake.

The Miami Heat has been frequently linked to free agent star DeMar DeRozan this offseason. With the Heat missing out on LeBron James, who chose the rival Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, DeRozan, 36, has become one of top fallback options for Miami.
DeRozan has been a free agent since being let go by the Sacramento Kings earlier this month. A six-time All-Star, DeRozan is widely expected to land a hopeful championship-contending team.
Meanwhile, the Heat is also keeping tabs on fellow free agent star Bradley Beal, who is coming off one unceremonious season with the Los Angeles Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson, who has emerged as Miami's highest priority target. The Heat's interest in Thompson may be slowing down its pursuit of DeRozan.

Contrary to the other reports from France on Tuesday, Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport claims Bradley Barcola hasn't reached a contract agreement with Liverpool.
Yet Hawkins adds that Barcola has made Liverpool his priority if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain, so it seems such an agreement would be largely a formality.
Mario Cortegana had reported for The Athletic this week that **** nal have shown interest in Barcola, but the Gunners are prioritising a possible move for Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid.

Rio Ngumoha thrived off the right and scored the only goal in Liverpool's pre-season win over Wrexham in New York, leaving Andoni Iraola with a potential transfer conundrum.
The 17-year-old sensation saw his deflected effort loop in off Wrexham defender Lewis Brunt in the 75th minute, an action which proved the difference at the famous Yankee Stadium.
A night which saw the Reds launch their new away kit, Ngumoha was brought on as a second-half substitute by Iraola and was deployed at right wing, a position that is currently central to Liverpool's transfer plans after the departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of last season.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a big-money move for Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, with widespread reports claiming the club are readying an opening bid.
After Ngumoha's impressive cameo, however, it remains to be seen how willing Liverpool will be to break the bank for Barcola, particularly given their desire to avoid hindering the highly-rated youngster's development.

During the 2026/27 league year, only one NBA player will have a formal no-trade clause in his contract. That player is Damian Lillard, who negotiated a no-trade clause into his deal with the Trail Blazers last summer. LeBron James and Bradley Beal had no-trade clauses in their respective contracts in recent years, but Beal gave his up when he agreed to a buyout with the Suns during the 2025 offseason, and James no longer has one after his contract with the Lakers expired this summer. LeBron would have been eligible for a no-trade clause if he had rejoined the Cavaliers or Heat in free agency, but since he hasn't played for Philadelphia before, he couldn't add one to his new contract with the Sixers.

It's often said that you don't know what you have until it's gone. That's what happened to the Washington Commanders last summer when star wide receiver Terry McLaurin skipped offseason activities and missed training camp while he was engaged in contentious contract talks with the Commanders.
The two sides eventually agreed to a deal, but the damage was done. McLaurin, the ultimate team leader, missed valuable offseason work with quarterback Jayden Daniels. He was injured in Week 3, which some attribute to him missing training camp. Fair or not, McLaurin's absence was felt on and off the field last season.
McLaurin was back with the Commanders for every offseason activity in 2026. His coaches and teammates couldn't hide their excitement. His importance on the field is known. He's Washington's No. 1 wide receiver and one of the NFL's best. However, his value to his younger teammates is immeasurable.
On the first day of Commanders' training camp on Wednesday, here you can see McLaurin mentoring undrafted rookie receiver Jaden Bradley.
That's not something you often see from veteran No. 1 receivers entering their eighth NFL season.

Liverpool are still searching for a new winger.
Reports continue to swirl around Bradley Barcola, the Paris Saint-Germain forward valued at around £145m.
If Richard Hughes declines to pay that much for the wantaway attacker then we could see Liverpool move on to other targets.
One issue with Barcola is that he is not an exact stylistic match for Mohamed Salah.
The 34-year-old left Anfield at the end of June having reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.

If you bought a home within the last few years, you might face some mortgage rate regrets. But as everyday people have told me, life doesn't wait for the market. You needed a home at the time you bought it, not before or after when rates were different.
While rates are still relatively high, they've fallen from their peak a few years ago. And if you're looking for a lower monthly payment, it's worth checking if you're paying more than today's average mortgage rate. If you are, a refinance may be on the table.
The math can be complicated, with interest rates, closing costs and amortization schedules to consider. And you can't always count on your lender to do this math for you.
But crunching the numbers is key to making the right refi move. Here's how three homeowners decided it was worth it for them.
When Bob Bradley, a 44-year-old publicist based in Orange County, Calif., married his wife, Kristy Andre, they needed a house to fit their blended family. He sold his 2%-rate condominium to fund a down payment on their family home. The couple bought at a 6.125% rate in June 2024.

Liverpool are preparing a move for Bradley Barcola so we asked if you think the quotation is a fair one. Paris St-Germain value the 23-year-old at around £145m, while the Reds think any deal should be around £100m.
Here are some of your comments:
John: Truly flabbergasted at his price. Not denying his quality and potential but when you hear Vinicius Jr is valued at £137m you have to give your head a scratch.
Lee: He's proved his worth. A big signing for the new manager makes sense, get the season started with a buzz. Realistically we still need to look at the back four conundrum though.
Kate: I think its scandalous the amount of money paid for these players! It's going up and up. If you want the best around then they know you'll pay but look what happened last season. I'm on the fence here, I do want Barcola but at that price, I think we should invest in quality, experienced defenders instead. We don't want a weak backline. Iraola knows how to get the best out of what we've got. We need defenders.

The San Francisco 49ers had a few players go down with injuries early on in training camp, and now they've decided to move on from Andrew Farmer II and William Bradley-King to make room for linebacker Quinton Bell and defensive end K.J. Henry.
Farmer played at Lane from 2018-22. After going undrafted in 2023, he's spent one season with the Los Angeles Chargers, one with the Denver Broncos and one with the 49ers. Over his three years in the league, he's appeared in eight games and recorded three tackles. The 26-year-old suffered a back injury on Sunday.
Bradley-King played at Arkansas State from 2016-19, earning All-Sun Belt honors twice, before transferring to Baylor for one final season. He went in the seventh round (No. 240 overall) of the 2021 NFL draft, and spent time with the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins before joining the 49ers last year. He's appeared in four games and recorded seven tackles and a half-sack over the last five years in the league. The 28-year-old was injured Monday.
If both players going unclaimed on waivers, they would revert back to San Francisco's injured reserve, ending their season. They'd only be able to return in 2026 if they come to an injury settlement with the team at some point.
