Millions of Americans recently received unwelcome news about their cell phone bills.
In late June, T-Mobile (TMUS) said it was retiring over 1,000 older plans, shifting customers to newer offerings at an added cost of as much as $6 per line per month. And starting in August, AT&T (T) hiked rates on some of its older plans by $10 to $20 and increased a monthly per-line fee by $1.
The changes contributed to a steep 5.9% jump in Americans' wireless bills from July to August alone, according to Consumer Price Index data. It was the largest single-month jump since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking the category nearly three decades ago.
In a twist, last month's rising phone bills may have helped convince the Federal Reserve to implement its first interest rate hike in three years. The steep price jump likely contributed about 10 basis points of August's 0.3% month-over-month rise in core consumer prices, according to Wall Street ******* ysts. The hotter-than-expected jump in this category, which strips out price changes in the particularly volatile food and energy sectors, helped cement expectations for the Fed's 25 basis point hike to benchmark rates last Wednesday.

Parnassus Investments, an investment management company, released the "Parnassus Growth Equity Fund" second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. During the quarter, the Fund (Investor Shares) returned 17.49% (net of fees), outperforming the Russell 1000 Growth Index's 16.74%. Holdings in Information Technology and Consumer Discretionary sectors boosted relative returns, while Communication Services and Financials holdings detracted. For the year-to-date period, the Fund returned 6.17% (net of fees), outperforming the Russell 1000 Growth's 5.33%. The firm remains constructively bullish on U.S. equities and continues to be selective, valuation-sensitive, and focused on disruptive growth opportunities through active stock selection. Growth stocks advanced during the second quarter, as the Russell 1000 Growth Index generated strong double-digit returns driven by increased confidence in the durability of the ongoing artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Parnassus Growth Equity Fund highlighted Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM). The Fund exited its position in Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM), a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops and commercializes therapies for patients with serious and rare diseases, during the quarter. On September 15, 2026, Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) closed at $119.92 per share. Over the past month, Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) declined 7.49%, but its shares are down 16.51% over the past year. Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) has a market capitalization of $26.19 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $90.39 and $212.75.
Parnassus Growth Equity Fund stated the following regarding Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM)shares fell after sales of the biopharmaceutical company's new lung drug Brinsupri fell short of ****** ysts' expectations. We exited the position during the quarter. Insmed's thesis had largely played out following positive TPIP data and upward revisions to Brinsupri sales. We redeployed capital to Twist Bioscience, which offers a longer runway for growth."
Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) is not on our list of the 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds. According to our database, 88 hedge fund portfolios held Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) at the end of the second quarter, compared to 67 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

The artificial intelligence infrastructure race is moving from a chip shortage story into a race for something harder to manufacture: data center capacity. Land, electricity, and finished buildings are becoming the bottlenecks as hyperscalers pour hundreds of billions of dollars into AI. That is creating an opening for a new breed of cloud providers that can secure capacity where the largest cloud companies cannot.
At Thursday's Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang made clear that he sees this market expanding for years—and his comments were particularly bullish for CoreWeave (CRWV) and Nebius Group (NBIS).

The Campbell's Company cut 13% of its salaried workforce as part of a plan to slash $500 million in costs by 2030, with CEO Mick Beekhuizen saying the company needs to take "decisive action" to improve performance.
The packaged food maker is also closing two snack plants as it aims to protect margins and support higher levels of investment. Campbell's added it will cut its quarterly dividend by 36% to generate savings that will be directed to other parts of its business.
The announcement comes as Campbell's posted a loss during its fourth quarter, with sales slipping 8% to $2.14 billion. Sales in its snacks business, which includes Goldfish and Pepperidge Farm, plunged 12% during the period. In meals and beverages, home to Rao's, V8 and its iconic soups, sales dipped 4%.
As consumers continue to rein in their spending, food companies are feeling the heat. Beekhuizen said cost cuts at Campbell's are necessary to support greater investment in brands to position them for success.

Our ******* ysts just identified a stock with the potential to be the next Nvidia. Tell us how you invest and we'll show you why it's our #1 pick. Tap here.
Michael Dell went on X Tuesday night and posted this: "There's an old Texas saying I may have just made up... If you keep growing EPS 200%+ y/y something good will happen."
He has earned the right to make up sayings. Dell reported $7.04 in adjusted earnings against the $4.92 Wall Street wanted, on revenue of $46.97 billion against $44.92 billion. Revenue grew 58% and beat every estimate on the street. Net income went from $1.16 billion a year ago to $4.13 billion. Shares rose 9% after hours, on top of a stock up 236% this year against the S&P's 11%.
Then Dell said what next quarter looks like, which is where it stops being a good print and starts being ridiculous. Third-quarter guidance came in at $6.50 a share on $49 billion, implying 81% growth. ******* ysts had penciled in $4.49 and $41.42 billion. Dell guided $7.6 billion above consensus for one quarter, more revenue than most S&P 500 companies book in a year.
The full-year number is the one to sit with. Dell now sees $25.50 in adjusted EPS on $192 billion of revenue. In May, it said $17.90 on $165 billion to $169 billion. Over 3 months, Dell added roughly $25 billion of expected revenue and 42% to its own earnings forecast, the corporate equivalent of checking the couch cushions and finding a Honda Accord.

STB review is advancing: Union Pacific said the Surface Transportation Board's 12-month review of its proposed Norfolk Southern merger began after the application was accepted on May 28, 2026. The company expects the deal could close in the third or fourth quarter of 2027.
Projected merger benefits remain substantial: Union Pacific estimates the combination could remove 2.1 million truckloads from highways annually, generate $3.5 billion in shipper savings, and deliver approximately $1.8 billion in annual revenue synergies plus $1 billion in cost synergies.
Competitive concerns are being addressed: The company has proposed pricing and service protections for shippers and reached agreements with Canadian National intended to ease concentration concerns and expand routing options. Executives said they remain confident the merger will meet the STB's public-interest requirements.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission, joined by 22 states, has sued Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) over allegations that the company secretly inflated prices in its advertising auctions for more than seven years. The FTC alleges that Amazon used an undisclosed "soft reserve price" to raise the amount advertisers paid above what competitive bidding would have produced.
According to the complaint, the practice affected more than one million brands and sellers and may have generated tens of billions of dollars in additional revenue for Amazon. The FTC also alleges that the pricing changes became increasingly aggressive, with advertisers paying their own bids roughly 80% of the time for Sponsored Products by 2024.
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) disputes the allegations, arguing that the FTC misunderstands how its advertising auctions work and that its pricing practices improve ad relevance and value for advertisers.
Photo by Bryan Angelo on Unsplash
The biggest positive for Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is that the lawsuit does not immediately undermine the underlying strength of its advertising business. Amazon generated about $68 billion in advertising revenue in 2025, making advertising an increasingly important and high-margin contributor to the company's overall profitability.

Snap (NYSE:SNAP), a camera-first social platform with augmented reality and advertising, closed at $5.42, down 8.53%. Pennsylvania's attorney general sued Snap over Snapchat's design and child-safety claims. Investors are watching follow-up legal risk and product disclosures. Trading volume reached 64.4M shares, coming in about 53% above its three-month average of 42.0M shares. Snap IPO'd in 2017 and has fallen 78% since going public.
S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) closed at 7,675, down 0.04%, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) finished at 26,130, down 0.08%. Among internet content and information, digital advertising and social media peers, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) closed at $576.14, up 1.07%, while Pinterest (NYSE:PINS) closed at $23.32, down 1.44%, showing mixed sentiment across ad-supported apps.
Pennsylvania's attorney general sued Snap yesterday, claiming that Snapchat kept "young users compulsively engaged," while lacking necessary safety standards and guardrails for age-appropriate content. This lawsuit was filed less than one day before Meta Platforms agreed to pay a historic $17.1 billion settlement for similar issues with children using its social media platforms.
However, while Meta has been battling this lawsuit for months, Snap's situation is brand new, prompting the market to send its shares down 9% today. A.G. Dave Sunday specifically cited Snap's Snapstreaks (which can be restored with a payment), disappearing messages, infinite scrolling, and "T for teen" rating as some of the many issues in the complaint.
Snap stock remains an unprofitable company -- though it is getting closer to breakeven -- and continues to rely heavily upon stock-based compensation, diluting shareholder value over time. With sales growth slowing over the last three years, yesterday's lawsuit against Snap, and today's ruling against Meta, I'm just not interested in the social media stock today, regardless of its popularity. It may simply be a better app than a company.

Michael Saylor says Bitcoin passes what he calls the Bernard Arnault test, a rule he uses to decide whether an **** et deserves serious money.
The Strategy executive chairman posted the argument on Monday in a short video clip on X, urging followers to think like a billionaire before committing capital.
Bernard Arnault chairs LVMH Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, the luxury group behind Louis Vuitton, Sephora and Tiffany & Co. The company owns 75 fashion and cosmetics labels. Forbes ranks Arnault 11th in the world with $142.3 billion.
Saylor borrows the name as shorthand for buyers at the very top of the wealth ladder. His test turns on a single question about future demand.
"Bitcoin passes the Bernard Arnault test. The Bernard Arnault test is this: I have a lot of money, what should I invest it in? I should buy something that someone richer than me, smarter than me, and more cultured than me will want to buy from me in ten years," Saylor said.

Nebius (NASDAQ: NBIS) has been steadily raising its capacity guidance for the end of 2026. The company told investors in February that it expected to have 3 gigawatts of contracted power by the end of 2026. This steady growth comes as the company adds new sites throughout North America and Europe. It also suggests that the stock's rally isn't close to over, even though its price has almost tripled year to date.

Revenue growth was primarily driven by a 48% increase in ZELSUVMI prescription units, reflecting strong market adoption of the first and only FDA-approved at-home treatment for Molluscum Contagiosum (MC).
Management attributes the 81.3% unit increase within a major PBM to a strategic contract executed late last year, which significantly reduced patient friction and accelerated prescriber acquisition.
The company achieved top-line growth while simultaneously improving operational efficiency, reducing wholesale inventory days on hand by approximately three days during the quarter.

Diamond Hill Capital, a First Eagle Investment Management company, issued its Q2 2026 investor letter for its "Mid Cap Strategy". A copy of the Q2 2026 investor letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, equity markets posted strong returns as resilient economic growth and robust corporate earnings supported investor sentiment, although AI-related companies continued to dominate market leadership. Technology was the strongest-performing sector, while industrials also advanced and energy lagged as oil prices declined. The Fund returned 7.92% and the Russell Midcap Index returned 13.83%. Health care holdings were the largest positive contributor, supported by strength across managed care, diagnostics, and life sciences. However, stock selection and an underweight position in information technology remained the main relative headwinds. The strategy maintained limited exposure to highly valued semiconductor and memory companies, reflecting concerns that current valuations ***** ume an extended period of elevated AI spending. It also continued to ***** s software and services businesses individually based on how AI may affect their long-term competitive positions. Management emphasized higher-quality companies, attractive valuations, capital preservation, and durable long-term compounding while remaining cautious about elevated valuations, concentrated leadership, and the sustainability of the current AI investment cycle. Wondering how to get cheap life insurance? It may be easier than you think. A new study by LIMRA found that adults under age 30 overestimate the cost of life insurance by 10 to 12 times more than it actually costs.
The reality is, some healthy adults could get affordable life insurance for about what they'd spend on a streaming subscription each month. The trick lies in buying coverage while you're young, choosing term life insurance over permanent coverage when appropriate, and comparing quotes from several insurers before making a decision.
For most people, cheap life insurance comes down to a policy you can comfortably afford. And the amount you can comfortably afford might look different from your friend, coworker, or neighbor.
Affordable life insurance also comes down to you getting a good price for the coverage you actually need. For example, a $500,000 policy will almost always cost less than a $1 million policy. But if your family would need far more than $500,000 to replace your income, pay off a mortgage, or cover future expenses, choosing the lowest premium could leave them financially vulnerable.

Vinted, one of Europe's largest marketplaces for buying and selling pre-owned items between private individuals, will direct customers in Germany to ship or exchange goods through DHL Group's (XETRA: DHL) network of parcel lockers and digital kiosks, under a new strategic partnership aimed at making peer-to-peer purchases as convenient as ones through online retailers.
Private-party sales of used items through online marketplaces have become very popular in Germany. According to the latest DHL E-Commerce Trends Report, 67% of online shoppers in the country have already sold items via a digital platform.
Vinted and DHL announced Wednesday they are working together to expand and simplify the shipping and collection of Vinted parcels through DHL's network of Packstations (automated, self-service locker systems that allows users to send, receive and drop-off parcels around the clock), Poststations (digital Deutsche Post retail outlets where users can take care of postal business) and DeinFach lockers (a carrier neutral parcel locker network).
DHL operates the most extensive parcel shipping network in Germany, including 41,000 parcel drop-off and collection points at post offices, parcel shops and automated facilities.
The Vinted collaboration builds on a multi-month pilot program that both companies recently completed, DHL spokeswoman Sarah Preuss explained in an email message.

Mark Cuban sees another massive workplace shift coming, and it could impact how Americans build careers.
The billionaire investor of 'Shark Tank' fame believes AI could now play a much bigger role in how workers deal with challenging situations, sharpen their judgment, and prepare for more valuable work.
In turn, that allows businesses to train people a lot quicker and at a far lower cost.
Cuban is among the select group of investing giants who remain broadly optimistic about AI. He feels that businesses that embrace AI will become much more productive, while workers who use it will still find opportunities.
Nevertheless, that prediction underscores an uncomfortable trade-off.

Twin Vee PowerCats (NASDAQ: VEEE) shares surged more than 370% on Monday, trading around $23, after the company announced a definitive agreement for a transformative transaction involving a merger with a subsidiary of USFM Corporation and the privatization of its marine business.
Under the agreement, a subsidiary of USFM Corporation, a developer of strategic mineral interests in Greenland, will merge with and into Twin Vee. Existing Twin Vee shareholders will receive equity in the combined public company as part of the transaction.
Before the merger closes, Twin Vee plans to establish a Delaware statutory trust that will hold the ****** ets and liabilities ****** ociated with its marine business, which includes the Twin Vee and Bahama Boat Works brands. Existing shareholders will receive non-transferable contingent value rights (CVRs) in the trust, which will entitle holders to potential future distributions generated from the operations of the privately held marine business.
The company said the structure is intended to unlock value for shareholders, provide the marine business with additional strategic and financial flexibility, and support future growth opportunities.
"This transaction represents an important milestone for the company," Kevin Schuyler, lead independent director of Twin Vee, said in a statement.

Dongfeng Motor is preparing to enter Canada's electric vehicle (EV) market, capitalising on a low-tariff quota negotiated by Prime Minister Mark Carney earlier this year.
The Chinese state-owned manufacturer will display EV models at a Montreal event this week and is currently pursuing certification for its vehicles with Canadian regulators.
Julie Mazorra Fernández, director of North World Industry – the firm set to distribute Dongfeng vehicles in Canada – was quoted in a Bloomberg report as saying the company anticipates launching its first two models next year.
In 2024, Carney's predecessor, Justin Trudeau, introduced a 100% tariff on Chinese-manufactured EVs, layered atop the existing 6.1% rate, which effectively excluded Chinese brands from the Canadian market and prompted Tesla to restructure its supply arrangements.
Carney struck a deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping in January to suspend the 100% surtax on as many as 49,000 Chinese-made EVs for an initial 12-month period, with China agreeing in return to lift its own tariffs on select Canadian farm exports.
