The time has come. The NBA has officially dropped its 2026-27 regular-season schedule. As with anything in life, there are winners and losers — let's dive in.
Look, I'm a big fan of a good social media product. Russell Westbrook called it quits on a fruitful 18-year career and did so with aplomb, a beautifully crafted mini-movie highlighting all the best parts of his time in the NBA.
I'm also a fan of removing all of the pomp and circumstance and getting right to brass tacks with a schedule release, as well. And who better to do this with than Suns wing Dillon Brooks? Phoenix's social-media release was a hilarious breath of fresh air, a reminder that, yes, all 30 teams in fact do play against each other. Brooks, who looks anything but camera-ready, **** up the script, throws it at the camera and declares, "We play everyone," before staring directly at the camera in a manner similar to his trademark pregame ritual. It's obvious. It's brilliant.
I'm sure most of you are familiar with comedians/actors Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele, and their old hit sketch comedy show, "Key & Peele." If not, get hip to it. For those that do remember the series, you'll immediately recall the infamous Substitute Teacher skit, featuring an enraged Key charged with taking attendance of his class. The only issue is Key is unable to **** ounce anyone's name.
Introducing the Dallas Mavericks' social-media schedule release. Adding current players Dereck Lively and Max Christie to the scene — with some of the students wearing opponent team gear — was the icing on the cake in their homage to the original. Bravo.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Actor and comedian Tiffany Haddish avoided additional jail time Tuesday when she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor alcohol-related driving charge that stemmed from her 2022 arrest in Georgia after someone called 911 about a driver asleep at the wheel at a traffic light.
Other charges were dropped. After entering the plea by video, Haddish was placed on 12 months' probation and told to avoid drugs and alcohol and complete a substance abuse evaluation. She was credited for the brief time she spent in jail following her arrest.
Haddish's films include the comedy "Girls Trip," "Night School," "Like a Boss" and "The Kitchen." She wrote the New York Times bestseller "The Last Black Unicorn," which earned a Grammy nomination for a subsequent audiobook she narrated. In 2018, she won an Emmy for her appearance on "Saturday Night Live" and a Grammy in 2021 for her special "Black Mitzvah."

Actor and comedian Jasper Carrott has spoken about his pride and love for daughter Lucy Davis after she announced she has incurable breast cancer.
The actress, best known for playing receptionist Dawn Tinsley in BBC sitcom The Office, has received an outpouring of support since she revealed her diagnosis on Tuesday.
Carrott, one of the most familiar faces on British television over several decades, told BBC News: "This is a very difficult time for the whole family and we have been supporting her in every way possible since her diagnosis.
"We are so grateful for all the support we have had over this trying time and we are very hopeful for her future being what she wants it to be."
He added: "We are so proud of our daughter and love her so much. The way she has conducted herself through many traumatic health issues is a lesson to us all.

As the second quarter earnings season begins to wind down, Wall Street and Main Street alike are tallying up the scores, and the numbers have been unquestionably strong.
With just under 90% of companies in the S&P 500 (^GSPC) having released second quarter earnings, roughly 80% have reported year-on-year EPS growth, putting the quarter in the 94th percentile for the metric, per Bank of America research.
Those results, plus Wall Street consensus forecasts for the third and fourth quarters, put the S&P 500 on track for four consecutive quarters of EPS growth exceeding 20%, per BofA, a phenomenon that has only happened 10 times since 1936.
Part of that story, according to Bank of America strategists led by Savita Subramanian, is the AI boom that has largely been driving the US equity market.
The second quarter has seen broad earnings growth, with 10 out of 11 sectors on pace for positive year-on-year movement, BofA noted. Yet, "even so, AI remained the index's primary growth engine," the strategists wrote. While the median AI-related stock notched EPS growth of 28%, the median non-AI-related stock saw growth of just 12%.

"I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there's a lot I have learned from it, and I'm grateful for that.
"As some of you will know, the pain can really be something else. Standing and walking for too long a time can be hard, and I need to use a wheelchair sometimes (so if you see me toddling around in one, feel free to give me a push!)."

He discussed his relationship with fitness and the childhood experiences he believes played a role in this fascination while speaking with Taron Egerton on his podcast on August 10. Rosie O'Donnell shared her experience taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro, including the side effects. The former talk show host said she has "never felt better." However, she revealed that she had lost 12 pounds without making any changes, leading her to worry that she might have cancer.

She initially believed that emotional experience explained her weight loss. However, two weeks later, "I get on the scale. I call my doctor crying. I must have cancer. I've lost 12 pounds and I haven't done anything. It's been three weeks since I started that medicine."
O'Donnell, who first opened up about taking Mounjaro in January 2023, explained that losing weight had always been difficult for her, even when she actively tried. She said the drug could help many people with obesity but criticized the high cost of the treatment.

The 62-year-old comedian recalled the conversation while speaking to Vulture's Good One podcast when host Jesse David Fox asked about a story that captures what their relationship is like.
"We don't talk often, but there are moments," Sykes admitted near the 22-minute mark in the video linked above. "After it was in the public that I had breast cancer—and this was like I had already finished my treatment post surgery and all that stuff. PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP) has spent close to a year going nowhere while the broader market climbed steadily, and shares recently traded near a 52-week low even after the company posted higher revenue and earnings. That gap between decent headline numbers and a beaten-down stock price is the whole story right now. Investors are trying to figure out whether a business that looks strong overseas and stuck at home is worth paying up for, all while collecting one of the most dependable dividends around.

International beverage volume climbed 5% last quarter and revenue jumped 11%, or 9% once currency swings are stripped out, and none of that came from acquisitions since those deals were concentrated on U.S. brands. That geographic spread matters because it's cushioning a domestic business that isn't pulling its weight. On top of that, volume is finally moving in the right direction everywhere: PepsiCo posted its fastest volume sales growth since 2022, and global organic sales volume through the first half of fiscal 2026 was the highest in four years, a sign that recent price cuts aimed at cost-conscious shoppers are working rather than just squeezing margins.
The stock's price tag adds to the case. Shares trade around 16 times forward earnings, a discount to its five-year median near 22. Layer on a dividend that's been raised for 54 straight years, with the payout still covered by adjusted earnings. Through the first 15 weeks of the season, NWSL matches averaged 11,174 fans, the second-highest attendance average in league history — behind the 2024 season, which finished with an average of 11,249 spectators.
Expansion clubs in particular have helped fuel those numbers. Denver opened its inaugural season before more than 63,000 spectators, while Boston attracted approximately 30,000 for its debut. Christina Pazsitzky shared an emotional detail with listeners on her Your Mom's House podcast. According to TMZ, Pazsitzky said she had spent years trying to save her marriage before the couple finally decided to split.
She said, "Tom and I are divorcing and um, it is extremely sad. It's um, sorry, I don't know if I was going to cry this soon. It is very sad. Um, that being said, we have tried to work it out for several, several years for the sake of our children and our family, and we gave it all we could."
Pazsitzky said they had a really good run in their marriage and that they had given everything they could to save it. She said, "I think in a marriage 20 years together and we uh had a very successful marriage. We created this, um, we have comedy careers. We most importantly created a family."
Pazsitzky said she wanted to formally address the news to their audience, as they have been supporting the couple since the beginning of their careers. She added, "This is just an unfortunate thing. Uh, but we're going to be okay. Tom and I are, just so everybody knows, like we are amicable. This is not an ugly divorce. Like, we're cool, dude." She also asked viewers not to take sides, as there is no bad blood between the two as they continue to live their lives.
