Michael Douglas has finally revealed why he refused to appear on David Letterman's talk show for almost two decades.
In his new memoir One ****** uva Ride, the Wall Street actor recounted how he had promoted various projects on the Late Show with David Letterman.
"I had been a regular guest on Letterman's show earlier in my career, but the last time I was on, I felt David went too far," he shared.
Douglas went on to recall how Letterman had played "without warning" a TV commercial that his actress mother, Diana Dill, had appeared in.
"(Letterman) started grilling me about it. It felt like he was making fun of my mother," the 82-year-old continued. "(That appearance) left me feeling like he had a real nasty sense of humour... After that, whenever the producers of the show requested to have me back on, I always refused. I said no for 18 straight years. Dave wrote me personal letters to apologise, but my feelings didn't change. He had crossed a line."
However, Douglas decided to "bury the hatchet" and announce that he was battling advanced tongue cancer during an interview on the Late Show with David Letterman while promoting his movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps in 2010. He has since recovered from the cancer after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Nahla Aubry, 18, has defended her mother Halle Berry against allegations made by Olivier Martinez.
Halle Berry's 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, has spoken out in defense of her mother amid an ongoing custody dispute involving Berry and her ex-husband Olivier Martinez. In a declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nahla said she had never witnessed Berry act violently toward anyone or physically abuse 13-year-old Maceo.
Nahla described Berry as a "loving and devoted parent" who is warm, supportive, and deeply involved in her children's lives. She said she has lived with Maceo for most of his life and has never seen her mother hit, slap, choke, grab, or otherwise physically abuse him. Nahla also said she has seen her mother and Maceo playfully wrestle and interact affectionately, adding that she never saw him appear hurt or distressed afterward.
Nahla said she was "shocked, very sad, and very upset" when she learned about the allegations. She also said Berry has encouraged both children to maintain relationships with their fathers and has not spoken negatively about either man to them.
Martinez, Berry's former husband and Maceo's father, has sought sole custody of their son. In court filings, he alleged that Berry physically abused Maceo during a Sept. 26 incident, including allegations that she put her hands around the boy's neck and choked him.

When it comes to relationships, Kaitlyn Bristowe apparently feels compelled to weigh in.
The Bachelor Nation alum — who appeared on both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette — shared her thoughts on a recent Instagram video posted by Brian Austin Green in which he talked about going to the movies alone. Though he didn't mention fiancée Sharna Burgess, she has recently been busy with Dancing With the Stars.
"He's going to probably unfollow me and not like this," Bristowe, 41, began, adding that she doesn't intend "to kick him while he's down."
However, the former DWTS winner said on the Tuesday, October 6, episode of her Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe podcast that she felt the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum's recent post may have been a little TMI.
"Brian Austin Green recently came out on his social media talking about how he went to a movie alone," she began. "He's like, 'I went to a movie alone, and I'm just going through a lot.' And he was saying how hard it is that Sharna's not there with him every day."

Actor C.W. Morgan has passed away at the age of 72. He was known for playing Billy Loomis' father in Scream and Scream 3. According to medical reports, Morgan died on August 30, 2026, though the reason has not been disclosed.
The confirmation of his death comes from Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records seen by TMZ and Entertainment Weekly. According to the records, Morgan died in a bathroom in Los Angeles. An LAPD spokesperson told TMZ that the death appears to be a result of natural causes.
Morgan was born in Bisbee, Arizona, and began his acting career in entertainment by starring in the 1991 TV series, Midnight Caller. Following that, he appeared in the 1992 TV movie, The Last of His Tribe. Besides the Scream movies, Morgan has also appeared in the film Metro and the TV show Nash Bridges as himself. In addition to his film and television work, he also lent his voice to the 1997 video game, The Last Express.
While his appearances were brief, his character, Hank Loomis, holds great importance to Scream fans. In the original film, it is revealed that Hank had an affair with Sidney Prescott's mother, which eventually led to his son, Billy, becoming Ghostface.
Morgan's daughter, Renata Macfie, paid tribute to the actor on Facebook. "I'm never going to have the right words for this post. Losing you has left the biggest hole in my heart. I will carry on our Mulholland drives and our Starbucks outings. I'm grateful and lucky to have had you as my daddy. My Guck. Rest easy, bubby. Life will never be the same without you and your poorly timed jokes that I inherited from you. Love you endlessly (no more fighting about that anymore, I win)."

Miesha Shakes wants to question Montia Sabbag about the recording and its investigation in her ongoing legal dispute with Hart.
Kevin Hart's former ****** istant Miesha Shakes wants Montia Sabbag, the woman involved in his 2017 ****** tape scandal, to testify in the comedian's lawsuit against her.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Shakes said she wants to question Sabbag about the recording and the investigation that followed. She also plans to testify herself and call Hart as a witness.
Hart sued Shakes in December 2023 after she discussed his private life during an interview with blogger Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe. Shakes worked for Hart's company from August 2017 to October 2020. His complaint accused her of defamation and breaching a nondisclosure agreement. Hart denied her claims that he recorded a ****** ual encounter and faced criminal charges over it.
Shakes argues the agreement is invalid because Hart failed to meet obligations under it. Hart disputes that argument and says her comments damaged his reputation. In June 2026, he asked a judge to order Shakes to pay $50,000, citing the damages provision in their agreement.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seem to already be having issues with their new neighbors.
Earlier this year, it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that Kelce, 37, purchased a $5.35 million lakefront estate in Ohio, and now home renovations are underway.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday, October 8, that a planning board meeting was held last month in the village of Bratenahl, just outside Cleveland, and a six-foot fence was unanimously approved despite some objections from those living close by, according to records.
A neighbor by the name of Katherine Bolton reportedly told the Architectural Review Board that Kelce's new purchase was a "tremendous blow" to "the peace and quiet in Bratenahl."
"There's a new owner, who is an absentee owner, who is not going to be here," she said, according to a record of the hearing obtained by the Mail. (The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and pop star, 36, weren't named.)

The line outside St. Patrick's Cathedral, where Daddy lay in state, was a mile long. One hundred thousand mourners passed by his coffin. Family and friends took turns holding vigil. The first time I witnessed that public outpouring of grief was when I accompanied Mum, along with my siblings, to a special service the night before the funeral. Mum's face, swathed in a black veil, was composed, almost serene, as we knelt to pray. The singer Andy Williams, a close friend of Mum and Daddy, sang "Ave Maria" a cappella, his resonant tenor echoing through the cathedral. I was thinking that Mary and all her angels were in the very room with us. Mum, Grandma Rose, and our aunts told us that Daddy was in Heaven and happy to be with Uncle Jack, his eldest brother, Joe, and his sister Kick. I could picture that lovely reunion. I was eight years old, and as a child had such a strong sense of Heaven as a physical place that when I flew in an airplane I chose the window seat so I could try to find Heaven in the clouds. Mum also believed Heaven was real, and she felt the full presence of God when she prayed. Her faith kept her going. It lifted us all through those awful days.

When Idina Menzel should've been celebrating some of her career's biggest accomplishments, the singer and award-winning performer was dealing with a deeply personal struggle. However, Menzel, who originated Elphaba in "Wicked" on Broadway, said booking roles in "Frozen" and the 2014 musical "If/Then" actually "saved" her when she needed it most.

On a Comic-Con panel, Menzel reflected on two of her career's biggest highlights: "Frozen" and "If/Then," both of which came around 2013. According to Menzel, 55, she was also going through a "really hard" split from Diggs, whom she married in 2003, during that time.
Amid the complicated split, though, Menzel found solace in her role as Elizabeth in the Broadway musical "If/Then," playing a woman who returned to New York City after a divorce. "The story of the show was so much about a woman who's making different choices in her life and finding her identity," she said.

Kat Graham may be stunning on the outside, but she's more focused on inner beauty.
During an exclusive interview with First for Women, the 37-year-old actress discussed her outlook after welcoming her son "Spero" Nyemah Wood with her husband, Bryant Wood, in March.
"I'm kind of learning inside out even more," she explains. "I've always tried to prioritize: if you feel good within, it'll show."
"If you're not drinking enough water, if you're not eating good food, it doesn't matter how much makeup or how many different hairstyles or whatever, you're not going to emanate health," she continues. "So for me, especially post-baby, I'm still taking all my supplements, all my vitamins."

Spike Lee came out in support of Nolan Wells and his family. The filmmaker shared a "do the right thing" inspired image to support Wells amid his family's ongoing efforts to seek a federal investigation.
Spike Lee took to Instagram to share a post supporting Nolan Wells. He shared a photo of himself wearing a ring that reads "Nolan Wells." Lee's post was inspired by his 1989 film Do the Right Thing, which explores tension, injustice, and conflict. His post came as Nolan Wells' family continued calling for a federal investigation into the case amid racial tensions surrounding his death.
Following his post, the internet was quick to react, with many users coming up in support of Wells. One user said, "One of the best movies of all time. Thank you, Spike!" Another user wrote, "I'm Chip tha Ripper, and I approve this message ?." One user commented, "Another injustice and senseless loss. The fact that his family will never have true peace is horrific."
Another Instagram user said, "Nolan Wells was LOVED, but it hurts to think the people he called FRIENDS couldn't show him that same love. His name will never be forgotten. #????️."
Lee is not the only public figure to support Wells. The case also drew attention from Donald Trump. When a White House reporter asked Trump about Wells' family demanding a federal investigation, he said, "Well, we're looking at that. Yes, we are." (via The Guardian)

Lisa Vanderpump's nephew, Sam Vanderpump, recently opened up about his ongoing health struggles. The 29-year-old Made in Chelsea star shared that he is still awaiting a liver transplant following his diagnosis of end-stage liver disease.
Sam announced his diagnosis publicly in October 2025. The announcement came months after he suffered severe liver and kidney failure following sepsis in December 2024. In an Instagram post, he shared that he "lives with a genetic liver condition and polycystic kidney disease (PKD)."
While appearing on the October 7 episode of Good Morning Britain, Sam said, "When I was first told that I needed a transplant, they said maybe [in] the next two years I'd have a transplant. I think we're already a year down the line, and luckily my health hasn't deteriorated. But that is the fear."
The reality star, who dyed his hair pink to raise awareness about organ donation, said he has received an overwhelming response from fans. However, he clarified that getting a transplant is not that simple. Sam explained that organ donation follows a "certain procedure" that he cannot arrange himself.
"So if someone were interested in being a live donor for me, they would have to contact the hospital, King's College Hospital, and go through that route themselves," he added. "So, it's kind of like you're caught between a rock and a hard place. You want to get further up the list, but you don't want your health to deteriorate."

Ex-Prince Andrew reportedly does not have that much of a miserable life while in exile. The former Duke of York lost all his royal ******* les after the news of his scandalous past in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The former Prince also had to leave his long-time residence, the Royal Lodge, within Windsor Great Park, and move to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The new report came amid news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor challenging the British police warrants used to search two of his properties.
Ex-Prince Andrew has reportedly been "having a very nice time" while in exile in the middle of his ongoing scandal. As reported by The Royal Observer, a source made this claim about the former Duke of York to The Times.
The former Prince has been staying at the Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk after he had to leave his long-time residence, the Royal Lodge. According to the report, while moving away from a mansion with thirty rooms to a house with five bedrooms might appear to be a big loss, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not completely lost his "charmed lifestyle."
Furthermore, per the news outlet, the insider told The Times that Ex-Prince Andrew "goes out, he goes off shooting with friends, he sees his old chums who are very loyal to him." According to the insider, the former Duke of York had not been "sitting around feeling sorry for himself any more." In the meantime, the former Prince's recent decision to take legal action against Thames Valley Police has caused quite the buzz among royal watchers.
Meanwhile, the publication further reported that the source also said to The Times that "There appears to have been a 'something must be done' moment where his lawyers, to appease him, will have said 'Don't worry, sir, we will handle it.'" This legal move came after the former Duke of York's arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

This has been a history-packed year for Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) have all catapulted to several new highs, and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh was sworn in as only the 17th head of the Fed on May 22.
But the most game-changing event of them all might be Warsh and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) kicking off only the fourth interest rate-hiking cycle of the 21st century on Sept. 16. Fed Chair Warsh and 11 other FOMC colleagues voted unanimously (12-0) to raise the federal funds target rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00%.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »

President Donald Trump hasn't been shy about voicing his displeasure with the FOMC's stance on interest rates. But in Warsh's comments to the press following the Sept. 15-16 FOMC meeting, he indirectly fired back at Donald Trump's ongoing interest rate critiques.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — President Donald Trump, facing protesters and a poor political climate, fought to rally Texas voters behind Senate candidate Ken Paxton on Wednesday night in a bid to stave off sweeping Democratic victories in the nation's most populous red state.
But Trump's remarks were not focused solely on Paxton.
Speaking to a packed Freeman Coliseum, Trump also pledged to award retired baseball star Roger Clemens the Presidential Medal of Freedom, restated his support for the death penalty for drug dealers and clarified recent comments in which he talked about the possibility of Iran bombing American cities as part of a recurring riff about how high fuel costs are "a small price to pay" for the war.
"You want to see problems? Let them hit San Diego, let them hit Los Angeles," Trump said. "We're not going to let that happen. We protect our cities. We protect our country."
The president's message was interrupted repeatedly by protesters, including by one who appeared to be close to the stage. In all, at least a dozen demonstrators interrupted the president. Some were led away by police.

Kylie Kelce revealed why she wouldn't put her daughters' faces on social media. Recently, the mom of four appeared on a podcast and discussed her kids' involvement in her online posts. Kelce revealed she didn't struggle with it when she had her first daughter, but things changed eventually. As the family grew famous, the doting mother decided not to show her children's faces online.
Kylie Kelce and Jason Kelce protect their daughters' privacy on social media. During the podcaster's appearance on Tay Lautner's podcast, "The Squeeze," Kelce opened up about online privacy for kids. She and the retired NFL player share four daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and Finnley. They rarely feature in the couple's photos on Instagram.
Speaking of the same, the 34-year-old mom told Lautner that things changed when their family grew popular. "I post infrequently overall, and I post even less frequently about our children," she said.
"I didn't want to exclude them entirely, [but] I made it a point to stop putting their faces on my social media." Furthermore, she explained that Jason's retirement documentary became the "turning point" in their lives. It required the children to be on camera, which made her realize that people couldn't set boundaries for themselves. Hence, Kelce drew it for them.
"I feel really strongly about going forward just for their safety to not include them in anything," she said. According to her, their children's "safety" will always be their top priority. Kelce also admitted that she tries to be careful about what photos she posts online related to her kids. She worries about how they would react in the future when they search for it online.

Joe Manganiello has opened up about the seven-year illness that left him fearing he was going to die.
Manganiello, 49, wrote about his struggles in his forthcoming memoir, Bloodlines, and how the autoimmune illness led to "major organ amputation." He also shared the impact of the illness on his marriage to Sofía Vergara. The two married in 2015 and filed for divorce in 2023.
Speaking to People about the ordeal, the True Blood star said: "I can't believe I'm alive. I feel like I was reborn.
"For seven years I thought I was going to be dead the next week. The world has opened back up to me."
Manganiello began feeling ill shortly after his 2015 wedding to Vergara, suffering from abdominal pain, fevers, rashes, fatigue and headaches. Between then and 2022, he lost 60 pounds and had multiple surgeries, all due to autoimmune disease.

Christa Pike is "up and walking" in the hospital after surviving last week's failed attempt to execute her in Tennessee, a member of her legal team said Thursday.
Lawyer Stephen Ferrell told the BBC that he had learned she was moving around her hospital room, although he had not spoken to her.
"What's been described to me is that physically there's quite a bit going on, that her arms are very injured and she's not able to use them very much," he said. "She is up and walking for the first time today, but just around the room, not very far."
Ferrell described her mental state as "kind of good and bad," adding, "Good that she is fairly with it, but she's also somewhat foggy. She can lose her train of thought really easily and forgets where she's going."
He said he ****** umed Pike's situation would "keep improving," but added that "there could be some permanent damage. We don't know that yet."

A new report suggests that Prince Harry's UK return is complicated by a single issue involving Meghan Markle. The news comes as the **** ss reportedly misses her old life and loved ones in California. After six years in California, the Sussexes moved back to the UK in August 2026 with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Since returning to Britain, Prince Harry is reportedly carrying the major burden of making sure Meghan Markle feels at home. Per the Daily Express, sources are claiming that ensuring his wife settles in comfortably has become the Duke's biggest concern.
The "Suits" actress has previously spoken openly about her difficult time living in the UK. The couple even went on to make claims about the royal family in interviews and in Harry's memoir, "Spare."
Weighing in on her current situation, royal expert Duncan Larcombe suggests that Markle may now be going through what her husband experienced after relocating to the U.S. In conversation with New Magazine, he said, "Meghan's bound to feel homesick and be missing California and her friends, especially her mum Doria, because she has been the one constant in Meghan's life over the past few years. She'll feel the same way that Harry felt when he was out there."
Larcombe further explained that Prince Harry is under considerable pressure to help his wife settle in this time around. He reportedly wants her to genuinely connect with the UK, which did not happen during their previous stay. The royal commentator noted that the Duke will be keen for her to see Britain as a true home, which will be a significant undertaking.

A reconciliation for Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Jennifer Lawrence is in the Kards.
Kardashian Barker, the eldest of Kar-Jenner siblings, revealed on the Season 8 premiere of "The Kardashians" (Hulu, Thursdays) how much the Oscar-winning actress' recent criticisms stung, and that Lawrence expressed her regret in an email.
During a round of Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Tests, which was shared to the outlet's YouTube channel in November 2025, Lawrence identified Khloé Kardashian as her favorite Kardashian.
"Kourtney is more annoying than ever," Lawrence, 36, told a puzzled Robert Pattinson, her "Die My Love" costar. "She drives me nuts… Because everything has to be an announcement. It's like, 'I'm not going to wear outfits anymore.' Like, just wear whatever you want. Don't make an announcement about it. Or, like, 'I don't have a TV in my room.' Just don't watch TV. Stop announcing it. Just shh!"
While driving with her friend, Simon Huck, Kardashian Barker, 47, explained that her emotions stirred back up after her mom, Kris Jenner, sent her family a message, saying, "'Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone, I talked to them last night. They're the best,' or something."

Halle Berry's fiancé Van Hunt is doing his best to support her amid her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez, a source tells Star.
"He loves her and wants to be there for her," says the source. "But it's incredibly tough for him to know what to do or what to say because she's so on edge all the time."
On Thursday, October 1, People reported that Martinez, 60, is requesting sole custody of his and Berry's 13-year-old son Maceo, alleging that the Oscar-winning actress "physically abused" the teenager in late September and that there have been "other instances of abuse" in the past.
"There's no doubt he's finding it very challenging to be with her right now," the source says of Hunt, 56, who was said to be present during the alleged altercation. "This is not an easy road at the moment, that's for sure."

Trouble, what trouble? More than a month after moving back to the U.K., Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were finally photographed together — hand-in-hand, no less — at the Falkland Arms pub in the Cotswolds on Friday, October 2.
"This very public outing together was clearly aimed at silencing the critics by pushing the happy couple narrative, but it hasn't really done much," a source tells Examiner. "Everyone is still whispering about the cracks in their marriage."
All the murmurs "bother" the ****** ss of Sussex, 45, the source adds.
So much so that, "even though the last thing she wants to be doing is going out to be gawked at with him, she's forced herself out for this photo op," says the source.

Prince Harry and Prince William's feud might worsen if an ex-royal releases a tell-all book. According to a source, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, might still have a lot to say about the Royal Family. It was said that they have kept their allegiance with Sarah Ferguson, who seemed to be planning a tell-all. Harry is allegedly "going all-out to ruin" William through his allies.
Prince William allegedly suspects Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are deliberately keeping Sarah Ferguson on their side. A source told Closer that the Sussexes have been "in touch" with Fergie and Earl Spencer. While the latter already dropped a bombshell Diana memoir, the former **** ss of York might still be in talks.
"While Sarah is insisting she's not going to write a tell-all book, she is apparently in talks, and if the money is right, she is definitely considering a memoir," the insider said. Furthermore, they claimed that Harry and Markle have allegedly been "trying to keep her on their side."
This way, the couple would reportedly have "some sort of control over what comes out." "They are keeping this allegiance firmly behind closed doors, but it's clear Harry is going all-out to ruin his brother, Prince William," they added.
Meanwhile, the senior royals, including King Charles, William, and Middleton, have seemingly been concerned about Ferguson's next move. They have already been dealing with Earl Spencer's memoir, which showed the king in a negative light. Now if Fergie did a tell-all, the royals fear it would be another crisis for the firm. "For Charles, William and Kate, it's another potential ticking time bomb," the source said.

Roger Clemens is not in the National Baseball Hall of Fame but he will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, President Donald Trump announced Wednesday.
Clemens introduced Trump at a rally in San Antonio on Wednesday, with Trump dropping the announcement as the former pitcher stood nearby. During the announcement, Trump said he had played golf with Clemens earlier this year, which prompted him to call MLB commissioner Rob Manfred about his Hall of Fame case:
"We had a great time, he's an amazing guy. I said, 'I'm going to call the commissioner of baseball.' It's a ridiculous thing that you're not in the Hall of Fame with that kind of record. He won seven Cy Youngs!"
It's worth noting the MLB commissioner has no power over who gets into the Hall of Fame. That is determined first by voters from the Baseball Writers ******* ociation of America (BBWAA), then a committee of voters determined by the Hall of Fame itself.
Trump did successfully intervene on the part of the late Pete Rose last year, pushing Manfred to remove the league's all-time hits leader from the ineligible list. Clemens is not on that list, nor will Rose reach the Hall of Fame without a successful vote.
