Florida State and the National Football Foundation will honor Peter Warrick and his recent induction into the College Football Hall of Fame during the Seminoles' Oct. 31 game against Clemson at Doak Campbell Stadium.
It's part of the NFF's On Campus Hall of Fame salute. Each electee returns to his respective school to accept an NFF Hall of Fame plaque that will stay on permanent display at the institution, and it gives the home crowd an opportunity to recognize the player.
Warrick was one of the most dynamic players not only in FSU history, but in college football. He played from 1996-99 after redshirting in 1995 and was a two-time consensus All-American. He holds the FSU record for career receiving touchdowns with 32, and he compiled a 45-4 overall record during his time in Tallahassee.
A 1999 National Champion, Warrick's 3,517 career receiving yards were the most in ACC history and ranked second on FSU's all-time list. He also ranked second in program history with 207 receptions, 15 100-yard receiving games and an average of 4.81 receptions per game.
Announced in January as FSU's 12th Hall of Fame electee. He joins his former head coach Bobby Bowden (inducted in 2006) and teammate Warrick Dunn (2024) in the College Football Hall of Fame. FSU's other inductees include Marvin Jones (2022), Terrell Buckley (2019), Derrick Brooks (2016), Deion Sanders (2011), Ron Simmons (2009), Charlie Ward (2006), head coach Darrell Mudra (2000), Fred Biletnikoff (1991) and Ron Sellers (1988).

In a parallel universe, this week is Harry Brook's first as England's new Test captain.
There are numerous reasons why it will be Joe Root, rather than Brook, leading England into a new era against Pakistan at Headingley: the timing of Ben Stokes' retirement, Brook's workload as white-ball captain and Root's surprise willingness to resume the job among them.
Inescapably, there is also what happened during the winter, when Brook was punched by a nightclub bouncer in Wellington on the eve of a one-day international against New Zealand.
In June, Brook said it would be an "honour" to be asked to succeed Stokes. Almost two months later, he does not know if the Wellington incident has cost him the top job, at least for now.
"I dunno," he tells BBC Sport. "I honestly don't know. I don't really look at it like that.

Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to a one-year contract with defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, a source familiar with the agreement told UPI on Tuesday.
Ogbah, 32, spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 10-year veteran totaled 48 sacks over the first 136 appearances of his NFL career.
The second-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft initially joined the Chiefs in a 2019 trade. He went on to log 29.5 sacks over five seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2020 to 2024.
He recorded a career-high nine sacks during each of his 2020 and 2021 campaigns with the Dolphins. Ogbah totaled 15 combined tackles, four quarterback hits, two tackles for a loss, a pass defensed, fumble recovery and half-sack over 13 appearances last season. He made three starts for the Jaguars.
The Chiefs released their first unofficial depth chart for the 2026 season on Monday, with George Karlaftis and Ashton Gillotte listed as their starting defensive ends. Felix Anudike-Uzomah, R Mason Thomas, V.J. Anthony, Tyreke Smith, Ethan Hurkett and Anthony Dunn are among their other defensive ends.

Recent guest pickers for LSU include Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne. Other schools dip more into the entertainment **** e of celebrities who are fans of the school and not necessarily alumni.

After injuring his elbow on a throw on June 26, the Saugatuck native has been out of the lineup.
After more tests, Dunn underwent an internal brace procedure on his right elbow on Monday, Aug. 3.
The recovery time expected is six months, which will be long enough to keep him out this year but if things go well, he could be back for Spring Training.

Although North DeSoto graduated a quarterback to Northwestern (Luke Delafield) and a running back to Louisiana Tech (Kenny Thomas), not many are crying for the 2026 Griffins, who remain loaded with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball.
That's why coach Dennis Dunn's squad has been chosen to win the 2026 District 1-4A ******* le in a close race with Northwood, which has seven senior offensive linemen. Five of those linemen have more than 100 starts between them. Replacing Delafield will be freshman Mason Smith, who already holds offers from LSU and Tulane, and he'll have a big target in tight end Miller Warren, a Northwestern State commitment.
DISTRICT 1-3A: Sterlington, Loyola expected to lead way in 2026 District 1-3A race
DISTRICT 1-2A: Calvary Baptist expected to rule District 1-2A in 2026

Phoenix Suns rookie Koa Peat had a productive debut in the NBA Summer League, and the team is eager to see him take the court when training camp begins next month.
Peat logged four appearances with the Suns in Las Vegas, averaging 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 ****** ists and 1.5 steals while shooting 51% from the field. He scored 12 or more points in each game, highlighted by a 19-point effort on July 19.
The 30th overall pick faces an uphill battle to carve out consistent playing time on a team that qualified for the playoffs last season. But Suns CEO Josh Bartelstein, speaking on the "Burns & Gambo Show" on Tuesday, said Peat will have the chance to prove himself.
I think we'll have an incredibly competitive training camp. We are deep. When you look at our depth, I think that is one of our strong suits. At the wing, you have Rasheer (Fleming), who is young, and Ryan Dunn, who is young, and Koa, who is young, on top of Miles (Bridges) and (Jordan Goodwin) and Dillon (Brooks), so Koa's job is to come compete every day and earn rotation minutes. I think we are deep there.
You saw the success of Khaman (Maluach) and Rasheer playing in the G League a little bit and ultimately really contributing the last half of the year, but Koa's mindset after a really good summer league is to come in and earn minutes right away. ... I want Koa to go out and say, 'I want to earn 20 minutes a game from the start.' Luckily, we've really built some depth at that position where there won't be pressure on him to do just that.

Ellie Kildunne; Helena Rowland, Meg Jones, Jade Shekells, Alex Matthews; Holly Aitchison, Natasha Hunt.
Even with Matthews, more usually in the back row, deployed as an emergency wing, it is a punchy England backline.
Six of the seven played in the Red Roses' World Cup final win over Canada last year. Before that though, all seven played top-level sevens.
"Some of the world's best 15 players have come through sevens," says GB Sevens player Abbie Brown. "That Red Roses backline was our sevens squad at one point.
"So, yeah, it can be frustrating."

LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England – For Georgia Hall, the fairytale finish wasn't meant to be, though she will certainly have memories and photos to cherish.
Hall returned to Royal Lytham and St. Annes, site of her major championship triumph eight years ago, with infant son Conor and fiancé Paul Dunne by her side. It was a lovely family event, even if her golf at the 2026 AIG Women's British Open didn't get her to the weekend. Hall shot 76-72 to finish at 6 over for the championship. The cut fell at 4 over, with 66 players advancing.
"I had a picture with him on 18 and that will definitely be my screen saver," said Hall. "I have my whole life there with Paul. It's lovely. It's a shame he's not a bit older, but I'm really grateful that I kind of made it back here and everything went well enough in the birth to allow me to play."
It was a tough week for moms, in fact, as only Alison Lee (4 over) has a Saturday tee time. Royal Lytham was the site of Catriona Matthew's incredible feat in 2009, when she triumphed only 11 weeks after giving birth to daughter Sophie.
Perhaps the most shocking player to miss the cut this week was defending champion Miyu Yamashita, who made a quadruple-bogey eight on the par-4 18th after bunker trouble and a triple on the par-4 third. Yamashita shot 77 on Friday to finish at 7 over for the tournament. It marked her first missed cut in a major since the 2024 British Open.

A 63-year-old Bronx man was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass for the incident.
A 63-year-old Bronx man was arrested after police say he drove a Subaru through the closed security gates at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's East Hampton home, severely damaging the entrance.
The East Hampton Star reported that the crash happened on Wednesday afternoon at the couple's property in the Georgica neighborhood. Investigators have not determined whether the man was targeting the house or its famous owners, and police said they found no weapons or a note explaining his actions.
A security guard told officers the vehicle traveled up the driveway at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the closed mechanical gates. After the impact, the driver remained inside the damaged car until the property's security team instructed him to get out. He complied and was restrained before village police arrived.
"He wasn't making threats. He seemed confused," Detective Sgt. Jennifer Dunn said.

Olivia Dunne continues to be one of the most recognizable faces in sports, and she made another memorable appearance Tuesday night while supporting boyfriend Paul Skenes at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. The former LSU gymnastics star accompanied the Pittsburgh Pirates ace to the annual Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia, where the couple drew plenty of attention during the All-Star red carpet festivities before the game.
Skenes, meanwhile, had plenty to celebrate himself. The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner earned his third consecutive All-Star selection after another standout first half. Despite an 8-8 record entering the break, the Pirates right-hander posted a 3.57 ERA with 130 strikeouts, remaining one of baseball's premier starting pitchers.
As Skenes prepared for another All-Star appearance, Dunne was right by his side.
Before players took the field, Skenes and Dunne walked the red carpet together, quickly becoming one of the night's most talked-about couples. Dunne wore a sleek black-and-white dress that generated widespread reaction across social media, with fans praising her elegant look. Major League Baseball also highlighted the pair's arrival by sharing video of the couple on its official social media accounts.

In advance of the 96th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night, the league’s best players walked the red carpet, including Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes and his girlfriend, former LSU gymnast and star influencer, Livvy Dunne.
Dunne and Skenes were donning matching outfits, with Skenes wearing a lavender suit with a black lapel and Dunne wearing a black and lavender dress.
Their matching fits were among the most impressive on the MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet on Tuesday night.
Believe it not, it was Dunne following Skenes’ lead and not the other way around.
“He told me what color he’s wearing, and then I just went accordingly,” Dunne said. “That’s literally it.”

With its brilliant orange wings and black markings, the high brown fritillary ***** erfly was once widespread in Wales and England.
But now it's one of the rarest of all British ***** erflies, with it numbers declining by 62% since 1970.

Rockets rookie Bruce Thornton leaves coach Will Dunn speechless after record-breaking debut originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Houston's Summer League squad faced the Denver Nuggets on Friday and came away with an impressive 97-86 victory. Second-round draft pick Bruce Thornton led the way for Houston, delivering a standout performance to help secure the win.
Following the game, Rockets Summer League head coach Will Dunn had high praise for the rookie, explaining just how valuable Thornton was throughout the game.
"I just looked at the box score after the game and I was like, man, I couldn't take him off the floor, I think he played 35 minutes, we got it back to back. So hopefully he's young enough, he's still feeling pretty good, feeling fresh. But no, he was amazing," Dunn said.
"He was making all the right plays for us, especially in that second half, I think he was 7-7 from the free throw line, just made some huge, huge plays offensively for our group, and then defensively he was solid."

Get French Football News spoke to former Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne about some of the French-related World Cup storylines that have caught his eye, ranging from the Paraguayan gamesmanship that France faced last week to the impression made by Monaco forward Forarin Balogun.
From a French point of view you will always be **** ociated with Thierry Henry’s handball. You’ve previously said that your issue isn’t so much with him as with the referee who missed it. I’m interested to know what you thought of Paraguay’s performance/attitude against France. Do you think they went too far or was it a case of good for them for getting away with all they did, because of a weak referee?
They aren’t as good as France, so had to find a way to get under their skin to try and put them off their game. The French are the best side in the competition, so you have to find a way to put them off their game, so you can look to take advantage. Paraguay went for a physical route at times, but ultimately France had too much for them. It’s up to the referee to control the players and manage the game as well.
As a former centre back you’re very well placed to judge. How highly do you rate William Saliba’s and Dayot Upamecano’s performances so far? Which other team’s defences have impressed you and why?
They are excellent defenders. We see Saliba week in week out in the Premier League and he is one of the best in the league. Upamecano is also a very good defender, both defending and also with the ball. I would say Spain have defended really well as, like the French, the centre backs can both defend well, and also use the ball well.

Livvy Dunne is speaking out after what she described as a frightening encounter with a group of men who allegedly tracked her travel plans and confronted her at an airport. The former LSU gymnast and social media star shared an emotional video detailing the experience, claiming individuals obtained her flight information, purchased refundable tickets to get through airport security, and waited for her at her arrival gate. The 23-year-old said the incident left her feeling unsafe and prompted her to publicly address the growing issue.
In a TikTok video captioned, "It just gets to a point," alongside a crying emoji, Dunne directly addressed those she says have repeatedly crossed personal boundaries.
"To the people still selling my flight information, stalking me at the airports, and buying refundable plane tickets to go through security to meet me at my gate. Can you please stop?" she said. "I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but I want to share what it's like from my perspective."
The video quickly gained traction online, with millions of viewers weighing in on the situation.
Alongside her message, Dunne included footage showing several men approaching her for autographs at the airport. According to the influencer, the interaction wasn't driven by genuine fandom.

On June 23, 2026, Satellogic Inc. CINCINNATI (AP) — Brandon Sproat pitched one-hit ball for six shutout innings and had a career-high 10 strikeouts, Hank Bauers and Andrew Vaughn drove in runs and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Milwaukee (48-29) won a series at Great American Ball Park for the ninth straight time and has won 12 of the last 13.
The Brewers spoiled the return of Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, who went 0 for 3 and struck out twice in his first game since May 31 after landing on the injured list with a strained hamstring for the first time in his career.
Sproat (2-4) did not allow a baserunner until hitting JJ Bleday with a two-out pitch in the fourth. The only hit the right-hander surrendered was a leadoff single to Joey Ortiz to open the sixth. Edwin Arroyo reached on a fielder's choice, but was thrown out on a steal attempt. Blake Dunn struck out to keep it 1-0 after Bauers' triple drove in the first run in the top of the inning.
Sproat, who made his big league debut in September in a 3-2 loss in Cincinnati while pitching for the Mets, threw 80 pitches and did not walk a batter.

I’m officially giving up on trying to understand the 2026 version of Brayan Bello.
It’s Monday Morning Brushback time, y’all, I guess? I dunno, this is another unorthodox MMBB, but this is what I feel in my heart.
This is not the first time this season that I’ve gone into the weekend looking to write an article focused on one topic from over the past week, but I can’t lie to myself. I don’t feel the passion about writing 1,000 words about how well Caleb Durbin has been hitting as of late (to his credit). Our bullpen sucks right now; I don’t have the willpower to dive into the nitty gritty just to ultimately end up telling you what you already know after simply watching what happened on Sunday (and what’s already happened in recent weeks).
I can’t stop thinking about this Bello situation, though, so I’m gonna write about this Bello situation and get it out of my system.
I can’t do it anymore with him. I feel like I’ve brought him up a handful of times this season, but I’m just done with it folks. Perhaps this is me coming to terms with the fact that a guy I’ve stuck my neck out for has been real, real stinky. Maybe I won’t have to do much more thinking about him after writing this article, because the Red Sox announced that Bello was being sent down to AAA Worcester following his most recent start—one that could only be described as disastrous.

Maja Chwalinska made French Open history on Thursday as the world number 114 became the first qualifier in the professional era to reach the Roland Garros final, where she will take on Mirra Andreeva.
The Pole downed Diana Shnaider 7-6 (7/4), 6-4 in the last four to join Russian 19-year-old Andreeva, a straight-sets winner over Marta Kostyuk, in Saturday's **** le-decider.
Should she best Andreeva in the final, Chwalinska will become just the second woman to come through qualifying and win a Grand Slam final in any major since the Open era began, after Emma Raducanu's **** le run at the US Open in 2021.
The 24-year-old said her run in the French capital was "like a dream", moments after beating 25th seed Shnaider, who a day before eliminated world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
"I don't know what's going on, I just, I dunno what to say. I'm sorry, I'm just very happy," she added to raucous applause on Court Philippe Chatrier.

I feel for Tony Santillan at the moment. He’s been such a vital part of the Cincinnati Reds bullpen, when healthy, for several years now, but it’s undeniable that he’s been struggling for weeks now to no avail.
Problem is, the more he struggles, the more that’s still being asked of him. Simultaneous with his foibles have come the injuries to Emilio Pagan, Pierce Johnson, and Graham Ashcraft, as well as the latest derailment of Connor Phillips. In other words, opportunities keep falling on his lap based on his reputation at a time when he, like so many relievers before him, needed just a bit more time to work things out.
The Cincinnati Reds have been worse for it, sadly. There just aren’t enough other good options down there to whom Terry Francona can turn.
Cincinnati clawed their way back to a 2-2 tie against the Kansas City Royals thanks to a late 2-run homer by Blake Dunn, a swing that leveled the score after Chase Burns turned in yet another stellar start (6.0 IP, 2 ER, 9 K). The problem, though, is that the more that was asked of Cincinnati’s beleaguered bullpen, the worse things got.
I hate to pile on Santillan here, but the facts are what they are now. In 23.0 IP this season, he’s pitched to a 6.65 ERA while yielding an impossible nine homers in that time. Seven of those dingers have come since May 5th alone. Yet here the Reds were in the 9th inning of a game against a club that was just 23-38 on the season coming in with Santillan on the mound with the game on the line, and things once again simply collapsed in real time.
