One of Wall Street's largest publicly traded companies, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRKA)(NYSE: BRKB), has entered a new era. With Warren Buffett officially retiring as CEO on Dec. 31, 2025, after more than half a century at the helm, it's his protégé, Greg Abel, now calling the shots.
Berkshire's more than five dozen owned companies more or less run themselves. The focus of Berkshire Hathaway's operating results tends to be on what, if any, moves have been made in the company's $352 billion investment portfolio. Although Abel has been an aggressive buyer of Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL)(NASDAQ: GOOG) stock of late, stock market dynamics strongly suggest he was a net seller of equities in the second quarter.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
If accurate, this would mark the 15th consecutive quarter that Buffett and/or Abel have sold more stocks than they've purchased.
As of March 31, Warren Buffett and Greg Abel had collectively sold approximately $194.8 billion more in stocks than they've purchased since Oct. 1, 2022. While some investors had postulated that Buffett was raising cash to give Abel a treasure chest to work with when he took over, the more likely catalyst behind this selling is the stock market's otherworldly valuation.

A brain cancer diagnosis could have ended Archie Goodburn's career. Instead, it became the beginning of a story that captivated the Commonwealth Games. He didn't need a medal to win over the crowd. All he had to do was step onto the blocks.
Just two years after being diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer, the Scottish swimmer continues to fight battles far beyond the pool. The 25-year-old swimmer, who won the 2023 British Swimming Championships, broke down in tears after finishing seventh in the men's 50m ***** troke final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
"Outside the pool I dream of a future where brain cancer isn't the biggest killer of those under 40, where the UK government establishes a brain cancer lead to make that change," he said. "I'd much prefer that change is made, and that dream is completed, than any of my personal goals in the pool because what families and young people are going through out there is really beyond the comprehension of many people out there and certainly harder than anything I've had to do as a world-class sportsman."
If we take a look at his journey, the path for him has been anything but ordinary.
In 2024, Goodburn's Olympic dream took a devastating turn. After weeks of experiencing seizures, numbness down his left side and recurring feelings of déjà vu, the then-22-year-old received a phone call after training that changed everything.

The letter emphasizes the vital role of AI adoption in capital markets, highlighting a projected $7 trillion in new debt issuance by 2029 due to increased AI computing investments by hyperscale companies. This trend presents both risks and opportunities. The firm has shifted away from semiconductors during the quarter, as they require 2027 or 2028 spending levels for sustainable returns. The Ironvine Concentrated fund reported a year-to-date return of 11.02% (net), outperforming the S&P 500 Index's 10.21% return. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Ironvine Capital Partners highlighted Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META). Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META), the parent company of dominant social media platforms, is a multinational technology company that develops products to connect people. On July 22, 2026, Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) closed at $627.17 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $1.68 trillion. Meta Platforms, Inc. Ironvine Capital Partners stated the following regarding Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) has uniquely powerful data and distribution advantages and the company is investing aggressively in its own artificial intelligence models and compute to make its advertising platform more effective. Meta's core business has among the most straight forward and compelling commercial use cases for AI that we are aware of. More engaging, relevant, and frequently refreshed creative content makes digital ads useful versus simply clutter. One unnamed Ironviner visits Instagram specifically for curated clothing, gear, and gift ideas—he checks in for the ads, not in spite of them, because he is often introduced to new brands and items he hadn't thought of or didn't know existed. For advertisers, the ease and precision of targeting and measuring return on ad spend is powerful. They can refine and improve their approach leveraging Meta's tools to increase efficiency. The company's ability to leverage and improve its own models within this robust and proprietary feedback loop should draw additional advertising dollars and further the company's lead in time. We initiated a position in Meta in our Concentrated strategy and added to our existing position in Core during the second quarter."

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JULY 17: Flavor Flav (C), Rhiannon Rae Ellis (2R) and Team USA members Alexandra Carpenter (L) and Hilary Knight (R) attend a private Team USA Athletes Only Dinner featuring top celebrity female chefs and hosted by Flavor Flav during Flavor Flav's SHE Weekend at the new Westoria Restaurant inside The Cosmopolitan on July 17, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for ABA)
For years, the conversation surrounding women’s sports has centered on one word: equality. Flavor Flav is demonstrating another word leaders should consider: investment.
For many fans, Flavor Flav will forever be remembered as Public Enemy's energetic hype man, a 2013 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee, the larger-than-life personality behind the iconic clock necklace, or the star of reality television's Flavor of Love.
But this past weekend, the Public Enemy co-founder brought more than one hundred Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists from Team USA’s Women Olympic and Paralympic programs to Las Vegas for SHE Weekend—short for Sports, Hospitality and Entertainment— for a four-day celebration designed to give America’s female athletes something many had rarely experienced at this scale: a victory celebration built specifically around them. I went to experience it for myself, and it was incredible.
The weekend included a parade on the Las Vegas Strip, front-row seats to a private concert from Public Enemy, receiving keys to the Las Vegas Strip, and attendance to the Backstreet Boys’ Sphere residency, where Team USA Medal winners received an onstage acknowledgment. This was in addition to a slate of curated dinners and programming talks from executives across the spectrum.

A year ago, Roma acquired Kostas Tsimikas on loan from Liverpool.
His physical and technical abilities seemed like the perfect fit for Gian Piero Gasperini and the back-row formation, a key component of the Grugliasco-born coach’s vision.
However, the Greek achieved little or nothing during his time with the Giallorossi.
The 1996-born player made 25 appearances (1,056 minutes) for the Roman club.
The number 12 registered just one ***** ist in all competitions, but fans were impressed by his ability to avoid creating any real threat in attack. The winger, when he attempted crosses or shots, displayed poor accuracy, and for this reason the club decided to release him.

Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare has hit out at “inaccurate” reports that he forced training to be cancelled by refusing to leave the pitch.
It was suggested that Arokodare had sat down at the club’s training ground on Monday and demanded that they let him move to Fiorentina.
Arokodare was left out of Wednesday’s friendly against Maidenhead United by new manager Cesar Peixoto, with Wolves reported to have accepted an offer from Trabzonspor in Turkey – but rejected a possible deal with Fiorentina.
Arokodare signed for £24m from Genk last summer and scored three times in his first campaign as Wolves were relegated from the Premier League.
"I was very surprised and disappointed to see the media reports today, many of which were inaccurate,” Arokodare posted on social media. “Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards.

Barclays upgraded CarMax (KMX) from "Underweight" to "Equal Weight" on July 21, simultaneously raising its price target by 65% to $61. The move signals a huge shift in the investment firm's stance, acknowledging that management's turnaround efforts have gained tangible traction.
The upgraded target was set to more accurately reflect the 51% increase in CarMax's share price that had already occurred, suggesting Barclays was playing catch-up with a rally it had previously doubted.

(NewsNation) — Entrepreneur and "longevity guru" Bryan Johnson has taken a different approach to how he will manage his autoimmune disease: cloning himself.
"I just cloned myself … as a newborn," Johnson, 48, wrote to his followers on X. He added that for now, "baby Bryan" currently lives in a Petri dish.
In early July, Johnson announced he'd been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis, an incurable condition in which the immune system attacks the stomach's acid-producing cells. According to the National Institutes of Health, it can cause iron and vitamin B12 deficiencies, leading to anemia.
He attributed his diagnosis to poor eating and being stressed as a father of three.

Novo Nordisk (NYSE:NVO) has filed a federal lawsuit against Eli Lilly, alleging that its rival's advertising campaigns for blockbuster GLP-1 obesity and diabetes drugs mislead consumers about the effectiveness of competing treatments.
The complaint, filed on July 21, 2026, in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, challenges nationwide advertisements for Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro that Novo claims rely on outdated clinical trial data and create an inaccurate comparison between the companies' medicines.
Novo alleges that Lilly's campaigns compare the highest approved doses of its drugs with lower doses of Novo's treatments, while excluding newer data from higher-dose versions of Wegovy. The company argues that the advertisements give consumers the impression that Lilly's medicines deliver superior weight-loss results, despite newer evidence showing more comparable outcomes at higher doses.
The lawsuit specifically targets advertisements comparing Zepbound's 10 mg and 15 mg doses with Wegovy's earlier 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg doses, while not including data from Wegovy's newer 7.2 mg dose. Novo also argues that comparisons between Mounjaro and Ozempic do not account for Ozempic's higher 2 mg maintenance dose.
According to separate late-stage trial data cited by Reuters, patients receiving Lilly's highest Zepbound dose lost around 48 pounds on average, while those receiving Novo's higher-dose Wegovy formulation lost around 47 pounds.

This article was originally published on ETFTrends.com.
In another one of this week's tests of investor sentiment around artificial intelligence (AI) – and a tentpole one at that -- Google's parent company, Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), reports second-quarter results after the close of U.S. markets on Wednesday, July 22.
This report could be an opportune time for short-term traders to consider Alphabet single-stock ETFs, such as the Direxion Daily GOOGL Bull 2X Shares (GGLL) and the Direxion Daily GOOGL Bear 1X Shares (GGLS). When preparing for Alphabet's earnings with these funds, traders should note that GGLL attempts to deliver 200% of the daily returns of the internet stock, while the bearish GGLS seeks intraday performances corresponding with the inverse returns of Alphabet.
Although shares of Alphabet are up 12% year to date, they have slipped 3% over the past month — perhaps signaling a near-term burden of proof for the company as it heads into its earnings report. If that's accurate, either GGLL or GGLS could be worth considering.
"Look for Google Cloud growth in both quarterly numbers and contracted future revenue (or backlog)," noted Malik Khan of Morningstar. "We think investors want certainty that the $460 billion backlog will convert to sales over the next two years, and also want to know what that trajectory will look like. Non-backlog factors, such as consumption-based spending and new commitments, will be important for understanding the health of the cloud business."

Aston Villa have launched an ambitious loan bid for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho. TalkSPORT broke the news, relayed by Transfer Feed, revealing that Villa are trying to lock down personal terms with the 21-year-old Argentine after inserting a conditional obligation-to-buy clause into the proposal.
Stamford Bridge officials haven't formally greenlit a temporary exit just yet. Still, Garnacho's name sits firmly on the transfer list. That in itself is a staggering turn of events. Chelsea spent £40 million to ****** him from Manchester United only last August, yet his stay in West London has turned sour fast.
Speaking publicly about the situation, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso didn't hide the interest brewing elsewhere. He acknowledged that sporting directors are actively locked in talks, expressing hope that the saga ends on good terms for everyone involved. Chelsea initially slapped a £42.5 million price tag on the wide man. In fact, both Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson were dangled in front of Villa during negotiations for Morgan Rogers.
Things haven't gone to plan. Not even close. Garnacho arrived in West London with plenty of fanfare, but his 2025/26 Premier League campaign was an absolute grind. Opta data tells a grim story: 24 appearances, 1,268 minutes on the pitch, and a solitary goal paired with four ****** ists. He took 33 shots all season and managed an abysmal shooting accuracy of just 21%.
Compare that to his final year at Old Trafford. He bagged six goals and two ****** ists across 36 league matches for United, looking every bit like a top-tier talent in the making. That sharp drop in composure inside the penalty box has spooked plenty of onlookers.

One week from today the Atlanta Falcons will hold their first training camp practice ahead of the 2026 NFL season. The only story that's likely to get any real attention from the media will be the quarterback competition between Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa.
As it happens, this is also the only QB battle around the league that's actually compelling. Kyler Murray seems destined to beat out JJ McCarthy in Minnesota and former Falcons veteran Kirk Cousins will almost certainly start over No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza out in Las Vegas.
So, who will win the Falcons' quarterback competition? Many ******* ysts believe it will be Tagovailoa, including Alex Kay at Bleacher Report. Here's why he's picking Tua to win the QB1 spot over Penix.
"While Miami was understandably ready to move on from Tua after two straight down years, the quarterback is still just 28 years old and should have plenty left in the tank for 2026... Tagovailoa gives new head coach Kevin Stefanski his best chance to hit the ground running and make Atlanta a top contender in a wide-open NFC South race. If Tua can avoid injury and establish a rapport with the likes of Drake London and Bijan Robinson in camp, Penix will be relegated to the bench in 2026."
Tagovailoa's best trait is accuracy, which is something that head coach Kevin Stefanski covets in his quarterbacks. When he was playing well in Miami, Tagovailoa was one of the more accurate passers in the entire NFL. In 2024, he completed nearly 73 percent of his passes.

As we continue our series we get to the most difficult position to profile. It is difficult because we entered into this series with some established rules. Players need to play a considerable amount at the position (you've seen some players qualify at more than one position) and they need to record at least 120 outs. Yordan Alvarez is the only player on the Astros to qualify in left field, but he does not play a ton of left field. So, later in the article we will create a player we will name Joey Dezenfido Jr. to tally up essentially what the Astros have been getting in left field.
We could have included Taylor Trammel, but he is playing more center these days and that will become important in the next piece. There can be no doubt that Yordan Alvarez is the best offensive player in the American League. Whether that makes him an MVP is certainly open to debate. Usually MVPs contribute with both the bat and the glove and there are certainly worthy candidates on other teams that do that. However, today we are looking only at offense.
Looking at the triumverate of Lamont Wade Jr, Joey Loperfido, and Zach Dezenzo becomes important because it will be the benchmark we measure any possible outfield acquisitions with. Obviously, both left field and center field are open possibilities and these next two articles will hopefully settle which position the Astros should target in a perfect world.
We use bases per out because they are much more accurate and all encompassing than cruder stats like OPS and OPS+. They are probably most similar to wOBA and rOBA, but since the formula is more transparent (because it is mine) it will hopefully be more meaningful. This is a gentle reminder that the MLB average for BPO is .676, but as we have seen, each position is different and brings with it different expectations. Otherwise, this article will serve as the lime wedge for the tequila shot that will be the other outfield positions.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) on Sunday said President Trump could "do something positive" instead of talking about the 2020 presidential election, clapping at the president's primetime speech on Thursday about election security.
"I don't know why the president is dragging up all this stuff," Fetterman told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union." "You're the president. Do something positive, and you are talking about 2020. That's been settled over six years ago. It's deeply unhelpful and that distracts important things, especially like the Iranian war right now."
On Thursday, Trump said recently declassified documents suggest China interfered in the 2020 presidential election by acquiring more than 200 million U.S. voter files. A 2021 report from the intelligence community about foreign threats to the 2020 elections concluded with "high confidence" that China did not interfere in the election but did take steps to try to undermine Trump's reelection.
Fetterman, who was Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor at the time, said the 2020 presidential election was "absolutely secure, fair and accurate."
"That was the voice of Pennsylvania, and they picked Joe Biden in 2020, that's a fact," Fetterman said. "… Now, until I see evidence that over 25 million migrants that … voted or registered to vote, then yeah, that would make me reconsider some of these things. But there's no evidence, and I don't expect that we'll see any of that."

It's mid-July, which means wedding season is officially in full swing. And I'm not just talking about your second cousin's destination ceremony. Celebrities have been making the rounds too. Fresh off the buzz surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who tied the knot earlier this month before attending another wedding the following weekend, the celebrity wedding guest fashion inspiration just keeps coming. This time, Brittany Mahomes is serving up a look that's perfect for anyone with a summer RSVP still on the calendar.
The 30-year-old recently shared an Instagram carousel featuring photos of herself and husband Patrick Mahomes on their way to a wedding. Brittany wore a vibrant coral sleeveless dress that felt equal parts elegant and fun. The flattering silhouette featured a mock neck and ruched detailing around the waist that created a beautifully tailored fit.
The back, though, is what really stole the show.

Zendaya's carefully curated "The Odyssey" wardrobe has sparked a much larger debate about who should be allowed to wear (and own) ancient cultural artifacts.
The actress wore earrings made from roughly 3,000-year-old Iranian gold medallions during a London photocall for Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic. While the jeweler insists the artifacts were mounted without being altered or damaged, critics argue the pieces should be preserved in a museum or returned to Iran rather than worn as celebrity accessories.
Questions surrounding the earrings are further complicated by the Ziwiye ****** d itself, a disputed collection whose objects entered the antiquities market without being recovered through a documented archaeological excavation.
Zendaya, who plays the goddess Athena in Nolan's adaptation of Homer's "The Odyssey," paired the ancient earrings with a flowing white Jacquemus dress selected by her longtime stylist, Law Roach.
According to CNN, the earrings contain gold medallion discs attributed to the first millennium B.C., making them approximately 2,000 to 3,000 years old. The pieces originated in ancient Iran and have been linked to the Ziwiye ****** d, a collection of gold, silver, and ivory objects reportedly discovered in the country's northwestern Kurdistan province during the late 1940s.

The second quarter was exceptionally good for the portfolio, with Class A investment in Laughing Water Capital returning approximately 39.8% net of all fees and expenses, bringing the YTD return to approximately 33.6% net. The SP500TR and R2000 returned approximately 15.0% and 21.5%, respectively, in the second quarter. The impressive performance was driven by three of the top five positions being acquired, with its largest position nearly doubling during the quarter. Moving away from trading dynamics and toward political tea leaves, during the quarter Nextnav CEO Miriam Sorond testified in front of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications & Technology, alongside representatives of several of the groups that oppose Nextnav's plan. Not surprisingly the opposition warned of interference risks if Nextnav's plan is granted, while Sorond noted that recent real-world testing showed no interference. Are the captions on a video of Norwegian soccer player Erling Haaland saying he will support Argentina over England in the World Cup accurate? No, that's not true: The captions on the video are fake, and Haaland never said he would support Argentina's Lionel Messi and his teammates over England in the 2026 World Cup semifinals. Video of his postgame remarks shows that Haaland said he would support England, not Argentina. Credible news outlets also reported Haaland's comments about supporting England, not Argentina, in the World Cup semifinals.
The claim appeared in the captions of a video posted on July 13, 2026, on X account ChinaNipona (archived here). It opened:

However, the in-demand centre-forward has yet to accept the offer, as he is ***** sing all the proposals before committing his future.
The 29-year-old Nigerian international completed a Bosman switch, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers back in September. But the Northern Irishman stepped down from his role in less than two months following a series of disappointing outcomes. Nevertheless, he shook it off late in the campaign and netted some decisive goals as a ‘super sub’ en route to conquering the ‘domestic double’.

Despite a slow start to the window, Celtic have lately stepped up their transfer business. O’Neill has convinced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay for at least one more season. Also, a fee of around £6m has been splashed to secure Camilo Duran’s services from Qarabağ. Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda is seeking an exit to pursue his Premier League dreams, and Duran, known for his high work ethic and flexibility up top, could emerge as a like-for-like replacement for the ***** anese striker.

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is back in the lineup after missing time with an injury, but one former WNBA All-Star is not exactly happy with the way the team has handled her injury situation.
While Clark has indeed returned to the lineup, she has not looked like herself on the court, leading former WNBA All-Star Stacey Dales to suspect that Clark isn’t fully healthy and should not be playing yet.
Last week, Clark returned to the court for the first time since June 24th. In her return game, she played just 15 minutes, which is about half the time she has usually spent on the court this season. During Sunday night’s game against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark’s playing time climbed a bit to 24 minutes, but she was still clearly playing on limited minutes.
However, it’s not just the fewer minutes; Clark hasn’t exactly looked like herself when she’s been on the court, either. She has been far less accurate from three-point territory with just two made threes in two games, and she has been far less aggressive at getting to the rim or drawing contact, as she’s shot just two free throws in two games. Additionally, she has turned the ball over four times in each of the past two games despite playing considerably fewer minutes.
She does not look like the same confident and dominant offensive player that she was before her injury, and people are taking notice.
