The Italian is attracting attention from across Europe after an impressive spell in Serie A, with Everton and Brighton now officially among the clubs ******* sing a move. What makes this pursuit particularly interesting is that Casadei appears to sit at the intersection of several competing ambitions. Torino want maximum value, Premier League clubs want emerging quality and the player himself appears ready for the next chapter of his career.
There is a growing sense that Everton are attempting to act decisively in the market.
Sports Boom reports that preliminary discussions have already taken place between the club and the player’s representatives. Significantly, there is believed to be confidence that personal terms would not present a major obstacle if negotiations progress.

Andoni Iraola arrived in Liverpool on Thursday to finalise the details of his appointment as the club's new head coach following the dismissal of Arne Slot.
The 43-year-old flew into the city's John Lennon Airport on a private jet from San Sebastian in Spain and was driven away in a silver people carrier shortly afterwards.
Iraola is understood to have agreed a two-year deal to succeed Slot, who was sacked last Saturday after a miserable Premier League ******* le defence.
The Spaniard was quickly identified as the club's primary target and negotiations have been conducted swiftly as he had already agreed to leave Bournemouth at the end of this season.
Slot led Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th English league ******* le in his debut season in 2024/25 but was powerless to halt Liverpool's slide in his second campaign in charge.

Organizations across Major League Baseball routinely rely on experienced infield depth throughout a long season.
Even players without much upside move between teams throughout the season as they attempt to address short-term roster needs, as long as those players have some significant big-league experience.
And that process has certainly played out for veteran infielder Sergio Alcantara this season, as it has for much of his career.

Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight contender Brendan Allen makes his first appearance of the year when he takes on unranked knockout artist Edmen Shahbazyan in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 118 this weekend (Sat., June 6, 2026) inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Allen being matched up with Shahbazyan came completely out of left field.
After all, “All In” is coming off a huge win over Reinier de Ridder, making the former two-division ONE champion quit on the stool, which pushed Allen to No. 5 in the Middleweight rankings. Shahbazyan, meanwhile, spent last year rebuilding himself and is currently unranked.
So, the optics of the matchmaking weren’t great.

The 2025-26 season didn’t go to plan for Claudio Echeverri. Echeverri left Manchester City to go out on loan at Bayer Leverkusen. The hope was that playing in the Bundesliga and Champions League would aid Echeverri’s development. That didn’t occur. Echeverri struggled to make an impact at Leverkusen and was recalled by City in January before being loaned to Girona for the second half of the season. Echeverri showed glimpses at Girona; however, you do wonder what the cost will be for Echeverri in the long term due to his ill-advised move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Pep Guardiola couldn’t hide his frustration last November when speaking about Claudio Echeverri’s struggles at Bayer Leverkusen. Guardiola took a swipe at Echeverri’s agent when asked about the possibility of Manchester City recalling the talented playmaker from Bayer Leverkusen at the time. Claudio Echeverri’s agent pushed his client to join Bayer Leverkusen in a loan move that ultimately didn’t go to plan. That move has clearly set Echeverri back in terms of his career progress.
Claudio Echeverri showed signs of his talent at Girona during the second half of the 2025-26 season. Although they were fleeting glimpses rather than consistent performances, looking back now, you do wonder what the cost will be for Echeverri after making a poorly advised loan move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Manchester City does need a winger this summer, or another attacking player. If Echeverri had followed Vitor Reis to Girona, perhaps everything could have been different for the talented Argentinian playmaker. Reis played consistently at Girona and seems set for a role in the City first team next season. It is hard to see Echeverri having the same opportunity as Vitor Reis after his 2025-26 season did not go to plan.
Despite Claudio Echeverri’s obvious talent and potential, it is hard to see him remaining at Manchester City for next season. Yes, City’s squad will be depleted at the beginning of next season after 19 players participate in the upcoming World Cup. Echeverri could participate in Manchester City’s preseason. Outside of that, another loan move likely beckons for him.

YPSILANTI – Mason defeated Farmington Hills Mercy 2-0 in a Division 2 regional semifinal on June 2, sending the Bulldogs (11-4-4) to the regional final against New Boston Huron.
They grabbed the lead late in the first half and kept the Marlins (6-10-2) at bay in the second. Senior goalkeeper Paige Foster recorded the shutout.
“She has 11 shutouts now,” Mason coach Christie Hursey said. “When we practice, we give her all the confidence, [and] we build her up. She’s done very well for us all year, and she controls it back there. The coaches believe in her, the players believe in her, and it’s a team sport out here. She does play her role very well.”
Both teams traded scoring chances throughout the first half, but neither could capitalize until the 30th minute.
Lexi Haynie scored after a series of Mason shots finally broke through, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead they carried into halftime.

On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints came together again not on the field but off the field to show some love to their community by providing some much-needed improvements to a local community center. The local event also served a good off-season team building and bonding activity.
Saints players and coaches partnered with The 18th Ward to help refurbish the playground and garden areas at Trinity Community Center in the New Orleans. Several trees and scrubs were planted as well as mulched on the grounds as well as fresh dirt and mulch was placed around the playground area.
Saints Head Coach Kellen Moore said of the event, “I think any time you get a chance to connect and do something for the common good of the group or an organization, I think it’s a great opportunity. These are awesome. We get to spend time together, not always in the same football environment but take us out of that environment and do something different.”
This is the 2nd year in a row that the team participated in a project at the center. Last year, they helped paint the interior of the community center’s building.
“It means a lot to have them back in our neighborhood, in Hollygrove,” said Lowrey Crews, founder and CEO of The 18th Ward. “Every day after school, kids from Hollygrove come here and get snacks, homework help. There’s this big, beautiful, safe ***** e to play and they get a meal to go home with.

Credit to TEAMtalk for the original information on Tottenham Hotspur’s reported interest in Jean Matteo Bahoya, the Eintracht Frankfurt winger now emerging as one of the more intriguing names of the summer window.
Tottenham’s interest in Bahoya feels like the sort of transfer story that tells us as much about the direction of the club as it does about the player himself. At 21, the French winger represents risk, projection and possibility, three things that tend to sit at the heart of any serious rebuild.
Bahoya, signed by Frankfurt from Angers in January 2024, has built his reputation around acceleration, direct running and the ability to disturb settled defensive shapes. For Roberto De Zerbi, that profile makes obvious sense. His football needs players who can stretch the pitch, receive under pressure and turn possession into incision.

Spurs have had too many spells where the ball has moved without enough menace. Bahoya’s appeal is that he offers something sharper. He is not merely another body for the forward line, he is a player who could alter the rhythm of attacks.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two-time WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark made one thing perfectly clear Monday — she enjoys playing for coach Stephanie White and anyone who infers otherwise is just plain wrong.
A few minutes later, White said she also appreciates coaching Clark.
Two days after cameras caught the Indiana star and the Fever coach engaged in what appeared to be a brief sideline spat, Clark and White explained the confrontation was not the result of some deep-seeded dispute but rather the result of two highly competitive women fighting to win a game.
“I think a lot of those things happen all the time,” Clark said Monday. “I know there's a camera on me and that's how it's going to be, but there are a lot of people out there in the media or on TV that think they know a lot of things and they're just blatantly wrong about a lot of things. I ride with Steph, I ride for these girls. Steph has my back more than anybody.”
What fans saw Saturday, though, was White appearing to confront Clark who responded by putting her arms in the air. White then pulled Clark and plugged in rookie guard Raven Johnson for Clark. White has since said she was merely challenging a player to perform at a higher level.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts initially thought it might be a long shot to get Daniel Jones into 7-on-7 work before the start of training camp.
There is no pass rush to avoid, obviously, but quarterbacks often roll out of the pocket in 7-on-7, “buying time” if the initial route or read is covered. Jones is still only six months removed from the torn Achilles tendon that effectively ended the Colts’ playoff hopes in 2025, and the temptation to roll out was always going to be there.
But then Jones started throwing to receivers at organized team activities, and he’s been seen running sprints and doing agility work with trainers after practices.
Indianapolis coach Shane Steichen decided it was time to let Jones progress to the next step. When the Colts opened their 7-on-7 session at the team’s organized team activity on Monday, Jones was the quarterback leading the starters.
“He's been throwing routes with the guys, and we just told him, ‘Don't scramble in 7-on-7s. Be smart in these situations. If it's not there, throw it out of bounds or if you want to drop it on the ground, I'm good with that too,’” Steichen said. “But yeah, he looked good out there today throwing with the guys.”

How Stefon Diggs matters in Patriots' trade plans for A.J. Brown originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
About a year ago, the New England Patriots brought Stefon Diggs aboard.
The former Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans wide receiver was signed in free agency to a three-year deal to be Drake Maye's WR1.
Diggs lasted just a single season with the Pats.
He was a quality target for Maye, and New England reached the Super Bowl, but the Patriots decided this offseason that they couldn't pay Diggs what his contract called upon for the next two seasons, and so they cut him.

Shedeur Sanders negotiated $9.24 million of $17.7m NFLPA royalty payment while with Colorado Buffs football originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders recently cashed in on a $17.7 million royalty check from the NFL Players **** ociation for his rookie season in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.
As Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio relayed, a large portion of that payment was negotiated while he was still a member of the Buffs, and before he slipped from being a projected first-round pick to an eventual fifth-round draft slide in 2025. Mainly, on trading card NIL. In addition, Florio foresees another big payment after Sanders recently switched his jersey number to the No. 2 he wore in Boulder as he broke several CU records under center.
“Most player royalty through the NFLPA come from group licensing deals, which compensate players for jersey sales, trading cards, video games, and other collectibles. As one source suggested, the $9.24 million payment to Sanders in May 2025 may have reflected his individual trading-card guarantee — something that likely would have been negotiated before he slipped from round one to round five in the 2025 draft,” Florio wrote.
“Sanders could have a large payment in next year’s LM-2, too. In March, Sanders changed his number from 12 to 2; any jerseys that fueled his royalty payments for his first NFL season will need to be replaced.”

Braves predicted to trade JR Ritchie, No. 1 prospect for $32M Cy Young winner to boost rotation originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Atlanta Braves became the first team to reach 40 wins this season after defeating the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night. Atlanta has accomplished that despite dealing with injuries throughout the year and a starting rotation that still isn’t at full strength.
Before the season, pitchers like Hurston Waldrep and Spencer Schwellenbach underwent elbow surgery. Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos acknowledged before the season that Atlanta needed to add another starter.
“We’ve explored the starting rotation, adding and getting some type of starter, whether that’s a trade or signing. We’d like for it to be someone impactful, someone we think can start a playoff game,” Anthopoulos said.
With two months of the season now in the books, it is becoming clearer which players could be available at the trade deadline. Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer believes Atlanta could land Tarik Skubal by dealing away its top prospects.
