At some point after a busy first official day of shows, everyone needs a french fry. And luckily, Chanel had that arranged: the brand took over Balthazar on Thursday evening for a party to celebrate the debut of Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu, a new fragrance fronted by Gracie Abrams.
The crowd was heavy on of-the-moment young stars, including "Sterling Point" actors Ella Rubin, Keen Ruffalo and Amélie Hoeferle; "Euphoria" breakout Anna Van Patten; "Saturday Night Live" cast members Marcello Hernandez, Sarah Sherman and Veronika Slowikowska; actors Nick Robinson, Lux Pascal, Adam DiMarco, Hayes Warner; Knicks player Tyler Kolek, as well as Coco Jones, Amber Mark, Janicza Bravo, Olivia Jade, Kai Schreiber, Vivian Wilson, Paloma Elsesser, Imaan Hammam and more.

The Rockies hung around for most of Thursday night at Yankee Stadium.
Then the seventh inning happened.
Colorado had just pulled within two runs when the Yankees answered with six in the bottom half, capped by Anthony Volpe's grand slam, and turned a quiet, almost competitive game into a 10-3 rout.
The loss completed a three-game sweep and dropped the Rockies to 55-91, while New York improved to 84–62. John Schreiber earned the win for the Yankees, while Ryan Feltner fell to 5-10.
For much of the night, though, the final score did not match the feel of the game. The Yankees grabbed an early lead, but Feltner settled in, Colorado kept finding small openings and New York never quite put the game away.

Oscar-nominated actress Naomi Watts, 57, posed for a fashion campaign with her lookalike daughter for the first time.
Watts and her 17-year-old daughter Kai Schreiber both modeled for fashion house Simkhai's fall collection.
The British-Australian actress shares Schreiber with her ex-boyfriend, actor Liev Schreiber, 58. The former couple, who were together from 2005 until 2016, also have a 19-year-old son, Sasha Schreiber.
For the luxurious ready-to-wear campaign, Camilla Nickerson styled Watts and Schreiber in glamorous outfits, from an $845 satin dress (Simkhai) to a $1,595 calf hair dress (Simkhai).
"I loved everything, and we carefully chose the pieces," Watts told Elle. "There were so many good things to choose from."

Naomi Watts and Kai Schreiber are making a compelling case against matching mother-daughter wardrobes. In Simkhai's fall 2026 campaign, there are no coordinated outfits or deliberately twinning styling moments, as one might expect from a fashionable family affair. Instead, Watts and Schreiber bring their own distinct identities to the collection—one polished and timeless, the other edgier and more eclectic.
Photographed by Mikael Jansson and styled by Camilla Nickerson, this marks Watts and Schreiber's first campaign together. (The wider cast includes Malcolm McRae, Sage Elsesser, Awar Odhiang, and Betsy Gaghan.) For creative director Jonathan Simkhai, bringing mother and daughter into the same fashion universe was a way to show how his clothes can translate across generations. "I have long been a fan of Naomi both on and off screen," he tells ELLE. "She has a timeless sense of style that feels effortless yet intentional."
As for bringing Schreiber into the fold, he adds, "I have been following Kai's modeling career and thought it would be such a great moment to ask both Naomi and Kai to take part in the campaign shoot—I can't think of a better way to showcase how Simkhai can be worn by different generations of inspiring women."

As it turns out, clothes already move pretty freely between those two generations in the Watts-Schreiber household. Watts tells me that Schreiber has recently begun digging through pieces she saved from the late '90s and early aughts—and Watts has started borrowing from her daughter's growing handbag collection, too. There is, however, one glaring hole in the family archive: "I got rid of all my low-slung waisted jeans," Watts says, "which she's so annoyed about."

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Spencer Jones homered and drove in three runs, Jazz Chisholm Jr. also went deep and finished with three hits, and the New York Yankees pulled away Tuesday night for a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Jones and Chisholm launched back-to-back homers to give Gerrit Cole a 3-0 lead before throwing a pitch in his latest return home. New York moved four games ahead of rival Boston for the top American League wild card and remained 4 1/2 games behind first-place Tampa Bay in the AL East.
A day that began with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment reaching an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in the Angels from owner Arte Moreno ended with them losing for the ninth time in 11 games.
Cole (8-7) gave up three runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking one. Brent Headrick, Paul Blackburn and John Schreiber held Los Angeles to one hit the rest of the way.
Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez (4-6) allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Well, I'm not sure what I expected. The Royals stars (Witt, Cags) were showing out both offensively and defensively, but it wasn't enough to overcome the moribund bullpen in a 6-5 loss to the Dodgers that was full of punch-counterpunch.
The 6th inning was the key part. The Royals held a 3-2 lead and Noah Cameron, who had pitched pretty well up to this point, gave up a few hard-hit ****** in a row to put runners on second and third with two outs. John Schreiber came in and promptly blew the game by walking Kyle Tucker and giving up a weak line drive down the right field line just beyond Cags' outstretched glove. All three runners scored to give the Dodgers the lead. Sigh.
The Royals counterpunched with a Kyle Isbel two-run homer in the seventh inning to bring the game back to even-steven at 5-5, but Alex Lange gave up two singles in the bottom of the seventh to relinquish the lead for good. It goes as two runs total charged to Schreiber and Lange, but I don't think Cameron really deserved those runs being charged to him.
It's a shame. Facing Tarik Skubal, the Royals position players put up a good fight.
In the first inning, in his first-ever at-bat against Skubal (really?), Cags fouled off four pitches to hit a grounder that squeaked through the middle to score Witt from second (Cags extended his hitting streak to 9 games with that hit).

On the latest episode of JohnWallStreet Presents: Big Business on Campus, a college sports podcast powered by Playfly Sports, JohnWallStreet Founder Corey Leff and Playfly Sports Chairman Michael Schreiber sit down with DePaul University Senior Vice President & Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy.
In this 50-minute conversation, the trio touch on a multitude of actionable insights including:
Why Facilities Still Matter
DePaul raised $20 million and plans to break ground on a new basketball building this summer. While college sports' arms race has shifted from facilities to player compensation —and the money raised could theoretically be directed toward athletes— Peevy explained the project complements the school's NIL efforts.
"If NIL is about attracting talent, facilities are about developing and retaining that talent. You can't gain and sustain success without both in this transfer portal era.... Let's say we bring in someone that develops into the freshman of the year in our league, those are targeted [players] for other leagues. So, if we don't have [resources] in place to retain first our best, we're going to be behind consistently," he said. "A dedicated facility also improves our operational capabilities every day, including [with] recovery [and] film."

On June 27, 1983, the White Sox got their first walk-off win of that season. On June 27, 2026 — the day the team was honoring the AL West division champs of ’83 — Jacob Gonzalez delivered this year’s team its seventh walk-off win with a bases loaded single.
Gonzalez being the seventh different player to come through with a walk-off hit for the White Sox this season. Seven walk-offs by seven guys, all before the end of June. If the 1983 team was the “Win Ugly” White Sox, the 2026 group is forging a different kind of identity, one built around the ability of young players to step up in key moments.
“It’s special, and it seems fitting for our group,” manager Will Venable said. “We talk about every night that we’re getting contributions throughout the lineup, you know, every guy that steps on the mound, it’s coming from everywhere every single night.”
In all, the Sox have had twelve players make their major league debuts this season. Gonzalez, whose walk-off single drove in the game-winning run on Saturday against John Schreiber and a five-man Royals infield, is one of those twelve. He debuted less than a month ago.
“Great at-bat. Obviously, a lot on the line there, a really tough situation,” Venable said. “You got the five man infield. And you’ve got a really good pitcher on the mound, and obviously a big spot, everyone going crazy. So it was a big spot for him to come through.”
