Cleveland B2Bulls starter Owen Tornow held the high-powered Mainline Pharmacy offense without a hit through four innings Wednesday night at Sargent's Stadium.
But the defending champion Johnstown franchise found its figurative footing in the fifth, scoring six runs – enough for a combination of three effective pitchers – in Mainline Pharmacy's 6-1 victory to clinch Pool C in the 81st AAABA Tournament.
"At the end of the day, sometimes it's ugly, sometimes it's pretty," Mainline Pharmacy manager Chance Osborne said. "We just have to find a way to make it happen."
So far, the Johnstown team has succeeded doing exactly that. Mainline Pharmacy carries a 3-0 record into the elimination quarterfinal round Thursday at the Point against Altoona-1 Imler's Poultry (7 p.m.).
Cleveland (2-1) finished second in Pool C and has a date against Pool D winner Buffalo (3-0) at noon Thursday at Forest Hills Junior-Senior High School field.

Baron Capital, an investment management company, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "Baron Health Care Fund". A copy of the letter is available to download here. The Fund gained 11.99% during the quarter, compared with the 10.48% gain for the Russell 3000 Health Care Index and the 15.44% gain for the Russell 3000 Index. Since inception, the Fund appreciated 10.61% on an annualized basis, compared with 10.02% for the Benchmark and 14.83% for the Index. Strong stock selection in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, health care equipment, and life sciences tools and services supported the Fund's outperformance, although limited exposure to managed care stocks reduced relative returns. The Fund remains positive on health care due to improving biotechnology funding, strong acquisition activity, recovering managed care margins, and growth from an aging population, chronic disease, medical innovation, and higher health care spending. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know the best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Baron Health Care Fund highlighted Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) as a notable performance contributor. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) discovers, develops, manufactures, and markets human pharmaceutical products in the United States and internationally. On August 03, 2026, Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) closed at $1,121.36 per share. The one-month return of Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) was -9.24%, and its shares gained 46.40% over the past 52 weeks. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) has a market capitalization of $1.06 trillion.
Baron Health Care Fund stated the following regarding Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY), currently best known for its diabetes and obesity GLP-1 therapies, contributed to performance as commercial execution and pipeline data reinforced investor confidence in the company's long-term leadership. All three major pharmacy benefit managers now cover Lilly's obesity portfolio, including its new daily oral GLP-1, Foundayo. This marks a reversal from last summer, when CVS Caremark provided preferred coverage for Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and raised concerns about a potential price war. The shift suggests that patients and physicians prefer Zepbound and are driving demand. Clinical trial data further reinforces our view that Lilly has one of the strongest next-generation metabolic pipelines in the industry. Phase 3 data showed retatrutide delivered weight loss in the high-20% range at higher doses and nearly 20% at lower doses, while maintaining excellent tolerability. We are also excited about eloralintide, where Phase 2 data showed Zepbound-like efficacy and tolerability, with combination data expected soon. Long term, we continue to view Lilly's portfolio as the gold standard in a category that we believe can exceed $150 billion."

Oppenheimer downgraded Walmart stock to a neutral rating, citing reduced outperformance potential.
Analysts highlighted U.S. pharmacy revenue headwinds, valuation concerns, and overly optimistic Street forecasts.
Shares of Walmart started the year strong. Now they've cooled, and some ***** ysts are offering up reasons for further caution.
Oppenheimer ***** ysts on Tuesday downgraded Walmart (WMT) stock to a neutral "perform" rating, withdrawing a $140 per share price target that represented a 26% premium to yesterday's close around $111 and was roughly in line with the Visible Alpha mean.
The ***** ysts cited three reasons they now see a "less compelling outperformance case" for the stock: revenue headwinds facing the U.S. pharmacy business that could hurt same-store sales, a "peakish" valuation, and Wall Street forecasts that they characterized as "well ahead" of the company's guidance.

The company published the arithmetic of its own margin repair, and the first hard proof landed a quarter before the shares started compounding.
CVS Health (CVS) stock has climbed 73% over the past year, from $60.38 to $104.43, against 18.7% for the S&P 500. The group did not move as one: UNH gained 60% and ELV 31%, while CI fell 4.2%. If you watched it run without owning it, the question is not what happened at the top, but what was sitting in the public record before the price responded.
The company puts its fiscal Q1 2026 improvement primarily on Health Care Benefits, the Aetna insurance business. Segment adjusted operating income was about $3 billion on a medical benefit ratio of 85%, against 87% in fiscal Q1 2025, and Aetna contributed over $1 billion of year-over-year improvement. Enterprise adjusted operating income of about $5.2 billion rose more than 12% and adjusted earnings of $2.57 a share rose over 14%, on revenue above $100 billion that grew over 6%. Its two non-insurance segments went the other way, with adjusted operating income down about 7% at Health Services and about 9% at Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness. Full-year 2026 adjusted earnings guidance moved to $7.30 to $7.50 from $7 to $7.20. So the shape of the recovery is clear enough: insurance margin coming back, with the other two segments giving some of it away.
That recovery was no discovery. At its fiscal Q3 2024 results, Health Care Benefits posted an adjusted operating loss of $924 million on a medical benefit ratio of 95%, and management warned the segment might show operating losses for full-year 2024 after earning over $5.5 billion of adjusted operating income in 2023. It then did the arithmetic out loud: restoring Aetna to 2023 profitability was worth well over $3 of embedded adjusted earnings per share. By the fiscal Q4 2024 report it had published the conversion rate too: roughly $0.75 of adjusted earnings per share for each point of Health Care Benefits margin, and about $800 million of segment adjusted operating income for each point of medical cost trend. Medicare Advantage margins had ended 2024 between negative 4.5% and negative 5%, against a 3% to 5% target. That was the promise, and only the promise.
The fiscal Q1 2025 report, the last one public before the run began, is where the swing actually landed: Health Care Benefits adjusted operating income of about $2 billion, up over $1.2 billion from a year earlier, on a medical benefit ratio of 87%, down 310 basis points. Full-year 2025 adjusted earnings guidance went up to $6 to $6.20 from $5.75 to $6, and the company committed to exiting the individual exchange business in 2026, a book then projected to lose $350 million to $400 million across 2025. The base was visibly depressed: revenue over the trailing twelve months was $378.96 billion, up 5.0% year over year, against a three-year average of 8.1%, with net margin at 1.4% against a three-year peak of 2.7%. The evidence was public. Whether it was usable is

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Johnstown-2 and Altoona-2 played a baseball game that had a little bit of everything Tuesday.
From superb starting pitching, some shaky defense, a controversial ruling and eventually clutch hitting, the two teams traded blows against one another, but it was Martella's Pharmacy that survived a 6-3 decision over ****** Motors in Pool A action during the early game at Sargent's Stadium at the Point.
The Johnstown-2 squad found itself tied late in the game with the Altoona-2 representative and used some small ball to forge ahead. Two Martella's Pharmacy runners reached base via a hit by pitch, then Jack Messina bunted the two into scoring position.
Johnstown-2 second basemen Mason Pfeil came up and roped a go-ahead single up the middle before center fielder Colby Rearick brought in two valuable insurance runs on a base hit of his own.
"I was definitely looking to be aggressive and I was trying to do damage," said Rearick, the No. 10 batter in the order. "I got a bunch of guys backing me. That's not just me getting a hit, that's everyone on this team and we needed that more than air, so that was a big spot for me to come through."

Custom Health Holdings Inc (TSX:CHLT) CEO Shane Bishop talked with Proactive about the company's technology-enabled pharmacy model, its expansion strategy and the opportunities ahead following its recent TSX listing.
Proactive: Welcome back inside our Proactive newsroom. Joining me today is Shane Bishop, CEO of Custom Health. Shane, great to see you.
Shane Bishop: Thank you. I appreciate the invitation and look forward to the conversation.
Custom Health has an interesting history. It was founded to solve challenges in long-term healthcare. Can you explain how the company began?
I'm a pharmacist by profession, and early on we identified a systemic problem between pharmacy and nursing in long-term care around medication administration. We developed technology to improve the accuracy of that process. That original solution remains part of our business today, but it also became the foundation for expanding our model into patients' homes.

On June 23, McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) issued a recap of its annual McKesson ideaShare 2026 event and stated that it spotlighted AI-powered solutions for independent pharmacies. The conference was held between June 18 and June 21 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, and it brought together nearly 5,000 independent community pharmacy professionals from across the US.

McKesson noted that the event centered on helping independent pharmacies navigate a rapidly shifting healthcare landscape. STUART, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors are allowed to review medical records related to Tiger Woods ' March vehicle crash and subsequent arrest in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence, a judge has ruled.
Judge Darren Steele approved an agreement last week between Woods' defense attorney and the State Attorney's Office that allows prosecutors to request records from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital, where Woods was taken following the March 27 crash. The case is being tried in Martin County circuit court, just north of Palm Beach County.
The judge signed off on a similar agreement in May that grants prosecutors access to all prescription medication records for the legendary golfer at a Palm Beach pharmacy from the start of the year through the end of March. For both hospital and prescription records, prosecutors have agreed to defense attorney Doug Duncan's request for a protective order limiting the release of records only to prosecutors, law enforcement officers, state experts and Woods' defense team.
Woods has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence. A sheriff’s office report said deputies found two pain pills in his pocket, and he showed signs of impairment after his SUV clipped a truck's trailer and rolled onto its side.
Woods was traveling at high speeds on a beachside, residential road on Jupiter Island with a 30 mph (nearly 50 kph) speed limit when his Land Rover caused $5,000 in damage to the truck, according to an incident report. Woods agreed to a Breathalyzer test that showed no signs of alcohol, but refused a urine test, authorities said.

The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is one of the best stocks to buy now for good returns. On June 22, Morgan Stanley reiterated an Equal Weight rating on the stock but cut the price target to $67 from $73 a share. The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is currently trading at $58 a share.
The investment bank terms the strategy of self-funding price investments to drive market share as prudent, given CEO Greg Foran's track record of supporting execution. However, Morgan Stanley insists that a self-funding price investment strategy comes with its degree of difficulty.
Similarly, on June 22, UBS reiterated a Neutral rating on the stock and cut the price target to $63 from $70. According to UBS, the first-quarter results showed that Kroger Co. has the right plan to strengthen its competitive edge. For starters, the company is well-positioned to fund necessary investments from its savings.
However, the research firm cut its price target amid concerns that Kroger may not have what it takes to deliver long-term targets of 3% to 5% operating income growth and high-digit to low-double-digit shareholder returns.
The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is one of the world's largest food retailers, operating nearly 2,800 grocery stores and multi-department stores across 35 U.S. states. The company serves over 11 million customers daily, offering a massive footprint in grocery, pharmacy, manufacturing, and fuel services.

A major grocery chain operator has agreed to pay a multimillion-dollar settlement after coming under scrutiny for pricing practices tied to one of its business segments.
The case centers not on what shoppers paid at checkout, but on allegations involving how certain prices were reported behind the scenes.
Federal officials say prescription price reporting practices caused government health care programs to pay more than they should have, resulting in a settlement worth tens of millions of dollars.
The case highlights how prescription pricing disclosures can affect taxpayer-funded health care spending, even when consumers receive discounted pharmacy prices.
Ahold Delhaize USA (ADRNY) has agreed to pay $40 million to resolve allegations that it submitted inflated prescription drug pricing data to federal health care programs, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
