Notre Dame announced via social media that the Irish will be wearing "LOU" stickers on the helmets this college football season to honor the late Lou Holtz.
For Lou.#GoIrish☘️ pic.twitter.com/1HwTc5n6dC
We all knew this was going to be a thing in some way this year — as it should be. For those wondering why it isn't above the bar on the facemark like the Irish did for Ara or Moose, I can't offer you an answer of fact. What I can say is that helmet technology is much different, and the raised ND Monogram in that place right now might not be the easiest thing to change.
But it doesn't matter where it's located. Lou wouldn't pay it any mind, and would be humble and grateful for the sticker. Now… let's go win that national championship Lou predicted all the time.

Billie Eilish stood between her brother Finneas and Claudia Sulewski as they exchanged vows Saturday, taking on a considerably bigger wedding ****** ignment than simply showing up for the family photos.
Eilish officiated the Aug. 29 outdoor ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, where Finneas and Sulewski married after nearly eight years together. Photos published by Page Six show the 24-year-old singer standing between the bride and groom as Finneas read his vows.
The couple's rescue dogs, Peaches and Moose, had jobs of their own. They joined the celebration as "flower dogs," wearing custom bows made from the same silk faille used for Sulewski's wedding gown. Finneas and Eilish's parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, were also there to watch their son get married.
The guest list included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Emma Chamberlain, Rachel Sennott, Rebecca Black and Jason Sudeikis. Sulewski turned the weekend into a fashion project of its own with four custom Oscar de la Renta looks, while Finneas wore a black suit and Eilish chose an off-the-shoulder green dress for her role at the altar.
TMZ footage and photographs show her facing Finneas and Sulewski during the ceremony and confirm that Peaches and Moose were part of the celebration. The dogs' participation had been planned down to their outfits. During Sulewski's final fitting, Oscar de la Renta designer Grace McCoy revealed two silk faille bows cut from the same material as the ceremony gown. Sulewski explained that Moose would walk ahead of Peaches when the pair went down the aisle as flower dogs.

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (AP) — A lip-licking alligator, a smiling moose and a hat-wearing bear are among the many cartoon animals to have found themselves in the crosshairs of Buc-ee's, the popular Texas convenience store chain that has a penchant for protecting its buck-toothed beaver.
But now Buc-ee's has set off a Buckeye backlash across Ohio and beyond after taking on a beaver in the city of Beavercreek.
It's yet another Buc-ee's Ltd. trademark infringement lawsuit. Supporters of Beaver's Mini Mart have attacked Buc-ee's online and boycotted the stores, and the mini mart's home city passed a resolution making the beaver an official part of its history. British comedian John Oliver has even weighed in on the kerfuffle.
On an episode of "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," the comedian detailed Buc-ee's aggressive history of trademark lawsuits targeting various woodland creatures and launched a website hawking merchandise bearing a knockoff "Buc-off" logo and a squirrel mascot named Mr. Nutterbutter. On X, #boycottbucees trended.
Buc-ee's sued Beaver's Mini Mart in late July, four months after the chain known for its extensive food offerings and massive restrooms opened its first Ohio store less than a half-hour's drive away.

The thing I hate about this time of year is that it means the entire soccer world becomes an Umberto Eco novel. Every little thing is weighted with significance, evidence of some larger narrative that only the most psychotically semiotic can follow. Speculation becomes rumor becomes fact until everything spirals out of control. Sweaty access merchants like Fabrizio Romanò breathlessly publish statements from agents as "news" as if there's the quid isn't vastly outweighed by the quo. It's discouraging to sift through and infuriating to write about. And alas, I have to wade into this meritless swamp to write about Moise Kean.
Let's start with the basics. Kean is in his prime at 26. He's under contract at Fiorentina until 2030 after extending last summer despite months of speculation. He's Italy's best striker and the only guy who came out of its failed World Cup qualifying campaign with an enhanced reputation. 2025-2026 was a down year at domestic level (8 Serie A goals in 26 appearances) as he dealt with ankle and calf injuries that sapped his effectiveness all year as well as a team context that polluted everyone it touched. ****** ody thinks that version of the Moose is the real one, although his outrageous 2024-2025 is probably the ceiling rather than the norm.
As Fiorentina's best player, he was always going to be a popular grist for the rumor mill this summer. New DS Fabio Paratici is tearing this squad down to the foundation, ruthlessly excising anyone with the slightest odor of Daniele Pradè in his quest to reduce the wage bill. Having nearly set the club record for most expensive transfer window in the opening fortnight of the transfer window and with numerous additions pending, he needs to find money somewhere. Kean's the highest-paid guy on the roster and its most saleable ****** et. The math is simple.
Besides being simple, the math also just got cheaper. Kean's extension last summer contained a €72 million release clause that extended for 365 days. It's now expired, intensifying speculation that he could be on the move. The consensus price that the Viola would accept hovers around €40 million. I'd say that's about reasonable, although perhaps a bit on the low side, especially factoring in Paratici's need to balance the books after spending €90 million already. And hey, he already sold Kean at Juventus in 2019 for €30 million.
Speaking of big transfer fees, Como's reportedly at the window, fueling speculation that the nouveau rich Lariani might make a bid for the striker. On the surface, it adds up: Tasos Douvikas was excellent last year but Kean represents a step up in quality from the Greek international, while Álvaro Morata is 33 and on the wane despite his popularity with his teammates. Como also needs to add more players trained in Italy to meet UEFA's registration rules for the Champions League (unless the plan is to ignore those like it does FFP). Never mind the reporting that Como's only vaguely interested; something must be

NORTH KARELIA, Finland — Bears, wolves and moose still cross the frontier freely, but for the border guards patrolling this stretch of fields and forest, this is where NATO ends.
A line of wooden poles and painted markers cuts through the light green grass, separating Finland from Russia along the alliance's longest border with Moscow — 1,343 kilometers (835 miles) of increasingly militarized territory. The crossing has been closed since 2023, the year after the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On the other side lies land Finland lost to the Soviet Union when it was left to fight largely on its own in the early months of World War II.
Reporters from Axel Springer's Global Reporters Network traveled to three exposed stretches of Europe's eastern frontier — Finland's forested border with Russia, Poland's fortified line with Kaliningrad and Belarus and Lithuania's vulnerable edge near the Suwałki Gap — to see how ready NATO's frontline states are for the possibility that Moscow will attack the alliance.
What we observed was a continent racing to harden its eastern edge against a threat it can no longer ******* ume Washington will handle. As US President Donald Trump questions old security guarantees and looks to reduce America's military footprint in Europe, the countries closest to Russia are building fortifications, expanding reserves, buying tanks and drones and preparing for the possibility that the first days of any conflict may be theirs to fight largely alone.
Since his reelection in 2024, Trump has repeatedly called into question Washington's commitment to NATO's Article 5, the foundational clause under which an attack on one member is treated as an attack on all. The uncertainty only deepened after the war in Iran, when the president and his team threatened to reassess US membership in NATO in response to European allies' refusal to join the conflict.
