Once the line of Tennessee football fans had cleared out, the food arrived for employees at Window World. A DoorDash driver juggled a brown Firehouse Subs bag in one hand and four soft drinks in the other as she pushed open the glass doors.
She took a step inside, turned to her left and did a double take. Sitting in front of her was linebacker Arion Carter, there for a meet and greet to sign autographs for fans.
There was one football left in the back for Carter to sign, which she excitedly accepted. She then asked to take a picture with Carter. Her family wouldn't believe her without photo evidence.
"My brothers are going to be so mad at me!" she joked.
It was Carter's first public event since he was suspended two games by the NCAA because he returned to college after his agent had paid for a flight to an NFL pre-draft training facility. He is arguably Tennessee's best defensive player and will sit out the opener against Furman on Sept. 5 at Neyland Stadium and the road game at Georgia Tech on Sept. 12.

Consuming a sugary drink a day may significantly raise the risk of developing stomach cancer, according to new research from Mass General Brigham.
After accounting for other risk factors, the researchers found that one or more sugary drinks per day was linked to nearly triple the risk of gastric cancer compared with fewer than one serving per month.
Roughly two-thirds (63%) of U.S. adults report consuming sugar-sweetened beverages at least once a day, CDC data states.
Beer, Wine Or Liquor? Massive Study Reveals Which Was Linked To Lower Death Risk
While earlier studies linked sugary drinks to higher rates of liver, breast and colorectal malignancies, their specific impact on gastric tissue remained unclear until now.

Leicestershire head coach Alfonso Thomas hopes England 12th man duties will not deny him the services of all-rounder Rehan Ahmed for the One-Day Cup final next month.
Playing his first domestic List A game in five years, the 22-year-old hit 31 and then took a wicket with his first ball in the Foxes' semi-final win over Nottinghamshire on Sunday.
Yet selection for England's T20 and ODI series with Sri Lanka could see Ahmed miss Leicestershire's final showdown with Middlesex at Trent Bridge on 20 September.
"If he's playing for England that will obviously take first dibs," Thomas told BBC Radio Leicester.
"The one thing we don't want to see is him getting picked for England, and carry the drinks on the Saturday when he could have been playing a game of cricket.

After seven years of much-publicized sobriety, Brad Pitt earlier this month told Esquire that he is "back off the wagon." Given that Pitt has spent the last few years publicly volunteering information about his alcohol use and subsequent sobriety, his casual revelation that he now drinks "in a more restrained manner" raised more than a few eyebrows and spurred a wave of headlines.
Initially, I was wary of commenting on the news. Brad Pitt's sobriety is none of my business. But I'm also a sober journalist who writes a newsletter about addiction recovery; whether or not a person with a history of alcohol addiction can moderate their alcohol use after a period of sobriety is among the most frequent questions I receive.
Whether or not a person with a history of alcohol addiction can moderate their alcohol use after a period of sobriety is among the most frequent questions I receive.
Given that Pitt has repeatedly spoken publicly about his struggles with alcohol and subsequent sobriety, discussing the latest development feels like fair game.
The story also raises a second issue worth exploring: the redemptive recovery narrative as public image rehabilitation.

Many of Hollywood's sober stars have spoken openly about their journeys to sobriety with the public.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Dax Shepard and Anthony Hopkins, for example, are among the celebrities who have been sober for decades. The latter actor penned a memoir **** led We Did OK, Kid that chronicled his career and "the low points in his personal life," including his addiction, in 2025 — the same year that he celebrated 50 years of sobriety.
Fight Club actor Brad Pitt, meanwhile, stopped drinking for seven years and recently revealed that he is no longer sober, explaining he now drinks alcohol "in a more restrained manner."
"I got overconfident a couple times, went, Yep, nope, not good for me," he said in an August 2026 interview with Esquire. "Not in big quantities."

The Coca-Cola Company (KO) has always had a knack for reinvention; that's why it has maintained its position as the global market leader for 140 years.
In recent years, as consumer tastes shifted toward healthier, sugar-free beverages, the company pivoted into bottled water, energy drinks, juices, coffees, and even dairy products, which allowed it to retain its roughly 40% share of the global beverage market.
But being seen in all the right places has always been one of ******* e's strongest marketing moves. Its presence at the FIFA World Cup helped propel another strong quarter, as the company reported net revenues of $13.4 billion, a 7% year-over-year increase. With EPS of $0.97, Coca-Cola beat Wall Street estimates by 4% and raised its full-year outlook to 5%.
Yet Coca-Cola didn't become the world's largest beverage company on its own. Behind its constant reinvention is a global workforce responsible for turning its strategy into sales.
Here's a look at Coca-Cola's employees in 2026, where they work, and how recent layoffs have reshaped its workforce.

PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP) has spent close to a year going nowhere while the broader market climbed steadily, and shares recently traded near a 52-week low even after the company posted higher revenue and earnings. That gap between decent headline numbers and a beaten-down stock price is the whole story right now. Investors are trying to figure out whether a business that looks strong overseas and stuck at home is worth paying up for, all while collecting one of the most dependable dividends around.
ja-san-miguel-xYSp0kkIUio-unsplash
Outside the United States, PepsiCo's business is humming. International beverage volume climbed 5% last quarter and revenue jumped 11%, or 9% once currency swings are stripped out, and none of that came from acquisitions since those deals were concentrated on U.S. brands. Snacks told a similar story abroad, with Asia Pacific revenue up 15% and Latin America up 12%. That geographic spread matters because it's cushioning a domestic business that isn't pulling its weight. On top of that, volume is finally moving in the right direction everywhere: PepsiCo posted its fastest volume sales growth since 2022, and global organic sales volume through the first half of fiscal 2026 was the highest in four years, a sign that recent price cuts aimed at cost-conscious shoppers are working rather than just squeezing margins.
The stock's price tag adds to the case. Shares trade around 16 times forward earnings, a discount to its five-year median near 22. Layer on a dividend that's been raised for 54 straight years, with the payout still covered by adjusted earnings. Management is "restaging" four core brands, Lay's, Tostitos, Gatorade, and Quaker, with new packaging, marketing, and ingredients, while rolling out products like protein chips and probiotic drinks. Activist investor Elliott Investment Management has also been in the mix, pushing the company to move faster on growth and cost cuts.
The trouble is that PepsiCo's biggest market is still shrinking in the ways that matter. North American food sales fell 2% last quarter, and beverage volume in that region dropped 4% even as reported beverage revenue ticked up. Management pointed to higher gas prices as one culprit, arguing that pricier fill-ups are cutting into convenience store traffic, a channel where impulse buys of chips and soda matter a lot. Strip out acquisitions, and organic growth in North American beverages was just 1%.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PLC (NASDAQ:CCEP) delivered first-half 2026 results ahead of market expectations, driven by higher sales volumes and favourable pricing across its European and Asia-Pacific operations. Profit after tax increased 5.8% year over year to €991 million, surpassing the S&P Global Visible Alpha consensus forecast of approximately €983.8 million.
Revenue climbed 4.4% to €10.72 billion, comfortably ahead of ***** yst expectations of roughly €9.83 billion.
The company attributed the strong first-half performance to balanced revenue growth, ongoing market share gains and disciplined cost control. Demand remained particularly robust for zero-sugar soft drinks, energy beverages and hydration products.
Comparable group volumes increased 2.2% on a days-adjusted basis, while comparable foreign exchange-neutral revenue rose 6.1%.

Conor McGregor said he's getting surgery, with the UFC star making the announcement on his Instagram account Monday Aug. 3.
The disclosure comes about three weeks after he apparently injured the ACL and meniscus in his right knee during his comeback fight July 11 at UFC 329 in Las Vegas.
In his Instagram video, McGregor held a Louis Vuitton bag while speaking to the camera. "What's up folks, it's the Mac,'' he said. "Off to get surgery today. So wish me well.''
With that, he says, "I'm going to fuel up on a Mac Energy," reaches into a refrigerated case stocked with his own line of energy drinks and grabs a can. "Today, the Orange Cremsicle," he said. "Let's go, we got this."
In the post's caption, McGregor wrote, "Well folks, here we go again! Surgery number 5 of my career coming up! All things considered that is an ok number! Let's do it, WE GOT THIS!''

A major scientific review is challenging the idea that more protein is always better.
The review, led by pathologist and biomedical researcher Dudley Lamming and published in the journal Cell Press Blue, examined more than 350 studies involving humans, mice, insects, yeast, and other organisms.
The review found that eating less protein, or less of certain amino acids that make up protein, may turn on body processes linked to healthier aging, as well as metabolism, the process by which the body turns food and drinks into energy.

Protein is now added to lattes, cereal, chips, ramen, and many other foods that were never traditionally marketed as protein-rich. The message seems clear: More protein must be better.

We have just reached half-time in Real Madrid's second pre-season match against Leganés. Real Madrid took to the field with the following line-up: Lunin, Alexander-Arnold, Huijsen, Asencio, Carreras, Camavinga, Valverde, Güler, Mastantuono, Ciria (Castilla), García. Attendance at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano was restricted to journalists and staff, with new signing Denzel Dumfries amongst the few spectators.
After a slow start to proceedings, with Madrid maintaining possession at almost walking-speed – we ended up seeing a good amount of action. Arda Güler linked up with Fede Valverde for the first chance of the game, but the Uruguayan could not get his toe to the delicate pass. The same combination would later open the scoring, this time with a combination along the floor allowing Fede to poke the ball home. Madrid would make it two straight after a drinks break, when a trademark Trent Alexander-Arnold pass found Gonzalo García who **** ed the ball over the keeper to score. Trent was deployed very high up the pitch, and was a standout alongside Arda.
Leganés did pull a goal back with an unstoppable effort that left Andriy Lunin and his defence mesmerised. A great first-half test against a strong second division side – with the score currently reading 2-1 to the hosts ahead of the second period. Changes are expected at the break. Check out our socials for coverage for the remainder of the game.

TimesofIndia.com in London: The summer of cricket continues unabated in England. The men played three Tests against New Zealand and five T20Is and three ODIs against India. As for the women, there was the T20 World Cup and the one-off Test between India and England. And now, it is the turn of The Hundred, which began on July 21.

The Hundred, the unique tournament featuring 100-ball innings, is back with its sixth edition. Much has changed, and yet not a lot has changed. It still has eight teams, still features 100-ball innings where bowlers can bowl spells of five or 10 consecutive ****** , and is still objectively meant to quicken the game and feature double headers - men and women - on the same day.

On the opening day, defending men's champions MI London beat Sunrisers Leeds at The Oval. In the day's first game, Sunrisers edged MI London by 7 wickets in the women's competition. A day later, in Southampton, Southern Brave women narrowly got the better of Welsh Fire. And the men's match later in the day had the reverse outcome.

What's changed is the ownership, the team names, and the kit designs. After an influx of £520 million into The Hundred, the Ambani family acquired Oval Invincibles (now renamed MI London), Sun Group purchased Northern Superchargers (now SunRisers Leeds), and RPSG Group bought Manchester Originals (now Manchester Super Giants). GMR Group, co-owners of the Delhi Capitals, have taken a 49% stake in Southern Brave.

On the opening day of the season at The Oval, the mood was as relaxed as one would expect at this time of year. The sun was out, and it was a pleasant day, away from the baking heat that this country had seen in the last couple of months. Even though it was a weekday, families were out in numbers, making the most of numerous entry points that get you into this cricket stadium in Kennington.

A venue that has seen three consecutive Test defeats for the hosts. It was here just a month ago that New Zealand walloped England by 253 runs. And it was here just about a year ago that Mohammed Siraj bowled with great fire to help India secure a series-levelling win by just 6 runs.

But now, on a Tuesday, The Hundred got underway, and the buzz was equal parts cricket, family and entertainment. A father, holding the hands of two of his kids, walked around and sought the support of a steward in finding the “family section.” Unlike international cricket, where tickets get sold for £100 or more, The Hundred hopes to bring in the masses with reasonable pricing.

With kids two and under going free, tickets for 3-15-year-olds are worth £5, and tickets for adults start from as little as £14. So, an entire young family could see two consecutive cricket matches, spanning about five hours or over, for £30-40.

To unwind after a long day at work, numerous food carts, kiosks and drinks stalls came to the rescue. From Middle Eastern to fast food to Indian, everything was on offer to suit the palates of the patrons. To

England youngster Jacob Bethell has opened up about the unforgettable experience of opening the batting alongside Virat Kohli at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during his stint with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), describing the atmosphere as unlike anything he had experienced before.

Bethell, who joined RCB after being signed in the 2025 IPL mega auction, shared the dressing room with Kohli during the franchise's back-to-back ******* le-winning campaigns in 2025 and 2026. Although the young all-rounder had a mixed season with the bat, he said the opportunity to walk out alongside one of the game's modern greats remains a career highlight.
Speaking on the Super Over podcast on YouTube, Bethell admitted he was overwhelmed by nerves before his first home appearance in Bengaluru.

"That was crazy. I remember being really nervous before. It was only my first game in front of home fans. I was nervous to say the least. But as soon as I got onto the ground, I just felt a sense of excitement. I ran drinks for quite a lot of the competition. Looking at the atmosphere and wanting to get a piece of it,'' Jacob Bethell said.

"We were walking out to bat. I can only hear myself think... the place is bouncing, there is no gap in it. You feel like they are on top of you. Luckily enough, we managed to put on a few runs; I scored a few, he scored a few. I remember I hit my second ball for four and I have never heard a sound that loud," he added.
Bethell also shed light on Kohli's personality away from the spotlight, saying the former RCB captain is far more relaxed than his fiery on-field persona suggests.

"Away from cricket and off the field, he's actually a very chilled individual. Great to talk to, great to spend time around. But it's just that ability to then flip into that competitive nature in and around cricket or training, " Bethell revealed

Bethell's IPL 2026 campaign yielded 163 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 140.52, but the England all-rounder has previously credited Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik in a video posted by RCB on their official handle for helping him improve his game, particularly against spin, during his time with the Bengaluru franchise.

U.S. beverage maker Coca-Cola said one of its dairy subsidiaries was hacked and that it's shutting down its operations for the foreseeable future. The multinational giant said in a disclosure with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that its Fairlife dairy company was hit by ransomware and that its production systems are affected. The company said that its Fairlife production operations across the United States are "temporarily suspended."
Fairlife's operations in Canada are unaffected.
Coca-Cola is one of the largest companies in the world, with products spanning carbonated drinks, water, and dairy products. Its Fairlife dairy is one of the company's major brands, with an estimated $4 billion in sales by 2024.
Ransomware attacks on food and beverage companies can have lasting effects. Past incidents at Arizona Beverages in 2019 and food distributor giant UNFI last year resulted in weeks-long disruptions to their respective production lines and empty grocery shelves.
Coca-Cola didn't say when Fairlife's systems would be restored.

We are going out for drinks with friends as the ten days of Stampede partying is running out, so I’m going to miss out on tonight’s game.
But going to find a spot to watch England’s World Cup game, wearing my jersey.
Just as I was leaving there was this….amazing that someone who can throw 100 was still there for the 39th pick.
