In the new book, Douglas, 82, shares an extraordinarily candid account of his cocaine and alcohol abuse, which resulted in some regrettable moments in his life.
"A typical night was probably five drinks and a gram of **** e," Douglas writes about the height of his addiction in the early Nineties.
It was during this time that Douglas had what he describes as "a wildly embarrassing incident with Julia Roberts that stuck with me for years."

Let's be brutally honest, ladies. If someone had told us back in 1996 that Pamela Anderson - the slow-motion running, red-swimsuit-wearing, ultimate 90s bombshell - would one day become our leading philosophical guru for embracing midlife, we probably would have choked on our Diet ******* es. But here we are, fiercely navigating our own second acts, and surprisingly, it's Pam who is serving up exactly the kind of rebellious, bare-faced wisdom we didn't know we desperately needed.
Pamela Anderson keeps her makeup-free philosophy as she attends the amfAR Gala Venezia 2026 (@ Getty Images for amfAR)
Who can forget that Pamela was the poster girl for an impossible standard of hyper-glamorous beauty. With the heavy lip liner, bleach, and frosted eyeshadow, she really went for the more-is-more approach to beauty. But in more recent years? She has gloriously changed tack. She has stepped onto the world's most heavily photographed, judgmental red carpet arenas completely makeup-free (or minimally made-up sometimes). She lets her freckles shine, her fine lines show, and her natural skin breathe. And honestly, the collective sigh of relief from women over 50 could be heard from ******* e.
Pamela Anderson went for a more is more approach back in the nineties (@ WireImage)
Because let's face it: the 'anti-ageing' industry is downright exhausting. We are constantly bombarded with marketing campaigns telling us to freeze, fill, lift, and aggressively scrub away every single sign that we have actually had the audacity to live past our fortieth birthdays. It's a relentless, outrageously expensive treadmill. We are commanded to fight aging as if it's a disease, rather than the profound privilege it actually is.

The way that we dress often reflects how we feel – and vice versa, what we wear can impact our mood, too. It's why we often turn to jogging bottoms and hoodies when we're depressed, or dressing fabulously when we're happy. Indeed, many of us dress for how we want to feel, with the dopamine-inducing effects of clothes becoming a popular sartorial philosophy. This is certainly the case for 58-year-old Canadian singer Celine Dion, who has debuted a series of frivolous and fun looks ahead of her comeback concert on September 12.

The singer – known for hit Nineties power ballads including My Heart Will Go On and It's All Coming Back To Me – will perform 10 shows over five weeks at the Paris La Défense Arena, after taking a six-year break due to ill health. She suffers from a rare neurological condition, Stiff Person Syndrome, which causes stiff muscles in the arms, legs and torso, and can be extremely painful. At one point, the syndrome made it difficult for Dion to sing.
Following years of treatment, Dion is now ready to perform again. And her attitude to fashion proves it, as she's showcased a variety of different sartorial personalities in the run up – from tailoring with jeans, to the classic "little black dress".

BENGALURU: In 118 minutes and 81 ******* , Vaibhav Sooryavanshi offered a glimpse of the raw talent that has made him one of Indian cricket's most sought-after prospects. The southpaw backs his big-hitting ability irrespective of the format and his fearless approach was on full display as the East Zone opener smashed 92 (7x4, 7x6) against Central Zone on Day 2 of their Duleep Trophy semifinal at the BCCI Centre of Excellence here on Monday.
At 15 years and 157 days, Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to score a 50 in the tournament, breaking Central Zone's Laxman Singh's record of 16 years and 23 days, set in January 1969.
The innings was more than just a record. Since his Ranji Trophy debut in 2024, the teenager had managed 215 runs from nine first-class matches. While he has built strong credentials in white-ball cricket, the longer format remains a stern test. Sooryavanshi was in no mood to let a red-ball challenge pass without making a statement.
The first session was all about his attacking display. After getting off the mark with a risky single, the left-hander struck his first boundary with a stylish square drive. That was merely an appetiser, as he repeatedly looked to score in the V against the pacers, including Yash Thakur, whom he deposited over the bowler's head for his first six. His 18 singles were as much a sign of maturity as his seven sixes were of his power.
His domination helped East Zone race to 64 in the first 10 overs. On 40, Sooryavanshi was handed a reprieve when Yash Rathod dropped a straightforward catch off Saransh Jain. The batter made the most of it, bringing up his half-century off 42 ******* with a six over long-on.
What stood out was not just the power, but the range. One particular ******* ault on pacer Aryan Pandey was striking. Charging down the track, Sooryavanshi smashed the ball straight back over the bowler's head for his fourth six.
Such was his command that it seemed to matter little who was bowling. Off-spinner Saransh Jain, who recently made his India Test debut, was dealt with equal confidence, conceding a four and a six as Sooryavanshi raced towards the nervous nineties in the 25th over.
However, he was left distraught when another attempt at a maximum landed in Arshad Khan's hands at deep mid-wicket off Harsh Dubey, leaving him eight runs short of his maiden first-class hundred.
Along with Abhimanyu Easwaran's 69, Sooryavanshi's 92 formed the backbone of a 161-run opening stand that helped East Zone reach 266, exactly matching Central Zone's first-innings total. Central were 45/3 at stumps.
Brief scores: Central Zone 266 & 45/3 in 20 overs (Mukesh ******* ar 2-14) vs East Zone 266 all out in 57 overs (Abhimanyu Easwaran 69, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi 92; Aryan Pandey 3-43, Yash Thakur 3-66, Harsh Dubey 4-66).

Kevin De Bruyne is Manchester City's greatest ever player. Erling Haaland will hoover up the club's goalscoring records; or those he does not already possess, anyway. Bernardo Silva made the most appearances of anyone for City in the last four decades, the most under Pep Guardiola and felt the manager's favourite.
And yet perhaps the Barcelona-bound Rodri was the definitive player of Guardiola's time at the Etihad Stadium. It helped, of course, that he scored the most momentous goal, the one that finally made City champions of Europe. Rodri against Inter in Istanbul: few supporters will ever need an explanation of that.
Rodri bids farewell to Manchester City after a talismanic spell at the club (PA)
Rodri was a colossal figure but also a symbolic one. Guardiola's football stemmed from the midfield and Rodri was the controller supreme, with a pass completion rate forever in the nineties and an ability to win the ball back. He was simultaneously a constructive and destructive presence. He played in Guardiola's old position; yet he smashed through the glass ceiling for defensive midfielders.
None had won the Ballon d'Or, arguably, since Josef Masopust in 1962. Rodri did. None had ever won the World Cup's Golden Ball. Rodri did. He arrived at the Etihad Stadium with the suspicion he may have been overpriced, having to adapt from Diego Simeone's football to Guardiola's, at the end of a long search for Fernandinho's successor which had taken in midfielders as different – from each other as from him – as Fred and Jorginho.

Cricket is a team game: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reveals fathers lesson on missed centuries
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been the undisputed breakout star of IPL 2026. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals sensation currently leads the Orange Cap race with 680 runs in 15 matches and has lit up the tournament with a series of record-shattering performances. Yet, despite his remarkable season, he has narrowly missed out on what many believe would have been well-deserved centuries.
Twice this season, Sooryavanshi found himself in the nineties, only to fall short because of his unwavering commitment to the team's cause. Rather than slowing down to secure personal milestones, the teenager continued to play his natural attacking game, putting the team's needs ahead of individual records.
Explaining his mindset on JioStar, Sooryavanshi revealed the lesson his father taught him from a young age.
"Since childhood, my father has always told me that if you score a hundred, a double hundred, or even a triple hundred, but the team does not win because of it, then those runs hold no value. They may only be for your personal record, but they do not benefit the team,'' Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said.
131385642
"Cricket, in the end, is a team game. So, if I score 80 instead of a hundred and my team wins, and if we still do not win despite me scoring a century, then that 80 means more to me than the hundred," he added.
"The longer my team stays in the tournament and the deeper we go into the playoffs and finals, the more chances I will get to score hundreds and achieve whatever records I want to break. So, it benefits both me personally and the team as well,'' Vaibhav concluded.
His selfless approach was on full display during the IPL 2026 Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting on a breathtaking 97 off just 28 **** , Sooryavanshi was only one boundary away from breaking Chris Gayle's record for the fastest century in IPL history. Instead of playing it safe and taking a single, he attempted an audacious upper-cut off Praful Hinge. Spotting a fielder late, he tried to adjust the shot but mistimed it, eventually getting caught at deep third man on the 29th ball.
Earlier in the season against Lucknow Super Giants, he produced another sensational innings, smashing 93 off just 38 deliveries. The left-hander tore apart the LSG attack with seven fours and ten towering sixes at a staggering strike rate of 244.73, guiding Rajasthan Royals to a dominant victory before falling short of a century once again.
