One of the bigger question marks entering Detroit Red Wings training camp is seemingly answered − for now, at least.
Defenseman Simon Edvinsson, a restricted free agent, intends to report to camp even if he doesn't have a new deal, according to a report from The Athletic hockey insider Pierre LeBrun. LeBrun goes on to say Edvinsson is "patiently waiting for the Red Wings GM situation to iron itself out before resuming negotiations."
Edvinsson had 25 points (nine goals) in 72 games played this past season and finished with a plus-12.
Edvinsson should see a huge payday. Bowen Byram, the No. 4 overall pick from 2019, just received an extension from the Blackhawks with a hefty $12.5 million cap hit. The Wings can ill afford Edvinsson (No. 6 pick in 2021) to be on the sidelines awaiting a new contract when their season begins, as he is one of their top workhorses.
But who will hammer out that deal? That still remains to be seen, as the Red Wings are about a week away from the start camp (Sept. 17) and they still do not have a general manager. Steve Yzerman parted ways from the position on July 15, moving into a senior advisor role.

Reuters and Bloomberg reported that Blackstone Inc. (NYSE:BX) offered to sell up to 25% of India's Knowledge Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust it backs alongside local partner Sattva Group, in a deal that could raise as much as $1.25 billion to $1.3 billion.
The floor price of 108 rupees per unit represented a 4.7% discount to the prior close and a 13% discount to net ******* et value. The sale ran August 31 for institutional investors and September 1 for retail investors. Bloomberg later reported the offering was fully subscribed and upsized to raise about $1.3 billion, the largest share sale by a private shareholder in India via this method. Blackstone's stake will fall to about 21.5% from 46.5% if the oversubscription option is fully exercised, making Sattva Group the trust's largest shareholder at 32%. Knowledge Realty Trust owns 29 properties across six Indian cities and has gained roughly 10% since its August 2025 listing.

Whether Brian Brobbey and Wilson Isidor can partner each other without unbalancing the Sunderland team has been the subject of several questions sent in via our Black Cats Ask me Anything form.
We were granted our first opportunity to see whether the pairing of Brobbey and Isidor will or could work in the home match against Fulham.
It is hard to say definitively, but on the evidence of that short cameo, I'd suggest there is no reason to think it couldn't work.
Isidor, of course, firmly believes it could but a lot depends on the balance of the team and how the likes of Enzo le Fee and Nilson Angulo are deployed.
It may well be something Regis le Bris is happier to try at the Stadium of Light, where there is a greater emphasis on the home team attacking than in away matches.

Bloomberg reported on August 25, 2026, that BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE:BLK) cut the minimum size for converting large Bitcoin holdings directly into shares of its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF to $1 million in July, down from $25 million when the in-kind conversion process first became available. The fund has facilitated more than $5 billion of these conversions, up from more than $3 billion when Bloomberg first reported on the trend in October, according to Robbie Mitchnick, BlackRock's head of digital ******* ets. Mitchnick said "kidnappings, ransom demands, and custody failures" motivate some holders to make the switch. Cutting the minimum by 96% meaningfully widens who can use the service. HAVANA, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Cuba's top diplomat said on Monday there are no talks underway with the United States, nor were there any plans for future negotiations, amid a "genocidal" blockade that Cuba says has cost the island nation over $8 billion in economic damages in the last year.
"There are no negotiations or agendas, although a willingness to stay in contact remains despite the lack of progress," Cuba's foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez, told reporters at a press conference in Havana.
Rodriguez said that damages caused by the decades-old U.S. trade embargo against Cuba had jumped 7 percent in 2025 versus the previous year, to $8.1 billion.
Cuba's foreign minister said the financial hit to Cuba`s economy would balloon in the first months of 2026, after the Trump administration imposed an oil blockade on the island that has all but decimated output and led to nationwide blackouts that now span days.

As President of the Jury, and knowing all we know about Maggie's style, we weren't expecting anything elaborate. But I have to say, I really enjoyed this Chloé Fall 2025 look.
I love the eggplant hue of the cropped blouse, with the ruffles adding just enough drama to make this feel worthy of the occasion without taking Maggie too far outside her comfort zone.
I also prefer her black trousers to the sheer taupe skirt we saw on the runway. They allow the blouse to remain the focal point and make the look feel much more like Maggie.
