A prisoner's premature baby died in hospital a day after he was born by emergency Caesarean section, an inquest has heard.
Orion Homer was born at 01:06 on 15 October 2023 at Royal Derby Hospital at 34 weeks plus five days gestation and died the following day.
An inquest at Derby Coroner's Court heard his mother Ellen Roberts was a prisoner at HMP Foston Hall and was taken to the hospital on 14 October after she raised concerns about reduced foetal movement.
Orion was "gravely unwell and very pale" when he was born and needed CPR and breathing support, the inquest heard.
Roberts had spent some of her pregnancy in prison in June and July 2023, before she was released at the end of July but recalled back on 10 October, the jury inquest heard.

Social media users have been waiting months for Alix Earle to address her feud with fellow podcaster and social media star Alex Cooper. The wait is officially over now that Earle has finally debuted her reality series "Earle Meets World," in which she talks about what happened with her former boss.
In an interview with USA TODAY ahead of the Sept. 4 release on Netflix, Earle, 25, was asked if she regretted not speaking out sooner or how she handled the situation. Her talking about the drama on camera was unplanned, she explained. "I can look back and think that maybe I could have done things differently," Earle said. "But honestly, I'm happy that I didn't speak out of emotions online at the time."
The two were business partners while Cooper's Unwell Podcast Network hosted Earle's "Hot Mess" podcast until March 2025. Earle abruptly left the network, took her show with her, and never explained exactly why. In April, Cooper issued a public statement regarding the feud speculation, and Earle said she would speak on it in the future.
In the first episode of "Earle Meets World," Earle briefly discusses the need to address the conflict. "I just get scared because everyone tells me not to fight with her," Earle says while talking with her dad, who's also her manager. "Because they always win and they always come out on top."
The content creator plainly says: "I definitely feel betrayed by Alex Cooper." She then goes on to explain when she was 22, she looked up to Cooper and was excited about being interviewed on Cooper's podcast "Call Her Daddy." But when Cooper hosted Earle's podcast, "she sold me on a dream that she was going to protect me and look out for me, and I feel like she took advantage of my admiration of her."

When Alix Earle spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of her new Netflix reality television series, "Earle Meets World," she slipped in a small dig directed toward her former boss, Alex Cooper, with whom she is currently embroiled in a months-long feud.
Earle was asked how it felt to finally address the beef on camera in the series that is due out Sept. 4. "I'm happy that I said my piece, but I'm happier just to, like, focus on the premiere and having the show out there," she told the reporter. "And, you know, hers are getting canceled, so it is what it is."
Earle's podcast "Hot Mess" was hosted on Cooper's Unwell Podcast Network until March 2025, when it was abruptly announced that it was leaving.
Cooper, best known for hosting the podcast "Call Her Daddy," took to social media in April of this year to address the rumors of their rift, saying in a video, "Hey girl, the passive aggressive reposts and the likes and the commenting on things — I've got to call you out here." She continued, "You're going to need to get specific and just say what you've got to say about me. There's no NDA. No one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself." Then, Earle responded to her in the video's comment section: "Okay on it."

The Princess of Wales's popularity is at an all-time high, as she almost single-handedly provides the sparkle the Royal Family so desperately needs.
Blessed with stunning good looks and the ability to be elegant, whether in a ball gown or rolling up her sleeves to play table tennis with a group of underprivileged youngsters, Kate has cemented her place at the top table.
In recent years, she has enjoyed unrivalled popularity with the public both here and overseas. But her cancer diagnosis and the cruel way she was forced to silence the conspiracy theorists and online trolls about being unwell - and therefore out of the public eye - have simply served to prove that she's in a league of her own.

Patriots Rookie QB Reveals Story Behind Surprise Punting Role originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Behren Morton entered Saturday night hoping to show the New England Patriots what he could do at quarterback. He ended up auditioning at two positions.
Morton replaced Tommy DeVito behind center in the second half of New England's 24-21 preseason victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at Gillette Stadium. The rookie also unexpectedly took over as the Patriots' punter after Bryce Baringer began feeling unwell.
Morton handled both jobs remarkably well.
The seventh-round pick completed 13 of 17 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. He also punted three times for 133 yards, averaging 44.3 yards per attempt with a long of 48. It was the type of stat line rarely seen from an NFL quarterback, even during the unpredictable preseason.

'Awful umpiring', 'Clearly not out': Cricket World reacts to Dhruv Jurel catch controversy in IND vs SL Test as ball appears to scrape turf originally appeared on Cricket News. Add Cricket News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Dhruv Jurel's catch to dismiss Lahiru Udara sparked a major controversy in Galle.
Replays suggested the ball may have brushed the turf as the catch was completed.
Reserve umpire Raveendra Wimalasiri was officiating during the first Test between India and Sri Lanka after Rod Tucker fell unwell.
India's charge towards victory in Galle was interrupted by a flashpoint that had the cricket world in near-unanimous agreement, and not in the third umpire's favour. Dhruv Jurel's catch to remove Lahiru Udara was given out despite replays appearing to show the ball making contact with the ground.

Only Murders In The Building and Waverly Place star Selena Gomez is sounding fairly ******* off this week, denouncing a recent fraud lawsuit launched against her mental health wellness brand Wondermind. Per People, the lawsuit was aimed at Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and former Wondermind co-CEO Daniella Pierson, claiming the trio "falsely represented" the company's "infrastructure, leadership, and resources" while soliciting more than a million dollars in investments—which is a fancy way to say that there have been a lot of allegations that, while the company sold itself as being able to capitalize on Gomez's massive celebrity and social media following (something that's made her cosmetics company Rare Beauty a reportedly billion-dollar business), in actuality, it was being run almost entirely by Teefey, with very little involvement from her famous daughter.
All of this was laid out in a fairly brutal September 2025 article in The Cut, which talked to several anonymous former Wondermind employees about the not-especially-pleasant-sounding experience of working for Teefey, who the article portrayed as unwell, disorganized, and generally not up to the strain of running a company alone. (Pierson, founder of The Newsette—and the subject of her own takedown article in Forbes last year—exited Wondermind a year after its 2021 founding, reportedly after conflict with Teefey.) The lawsuit says investors got seriously worried about getting their money back when Forbes ran a report back in May 2025 that the company had failed to pay its employees; Gomez reportedly stepped in to cover the debts.
(Meanwhile, if you're wondering what Wondermind—which bills itself as "The World's First Mental Fitness Ecosystem—actually does or makes, the answer is: Not very much, as far as we can tell. The site has run a blog, which has only intermittently been updated in recent years, and ran two short-lived podcasts in the past. But plans for snack offerings, a docuseries about Venus Williams, an app, and film projects have all failed to materialize. Many of the staffers quoted in The Cut article noted that Teefey—whose biggest professional success was pretty objectively the period where she served as Gomez's manager in the early years of her career, before being fired by her daughter in 2014—was good at suggesting projects, but not at actually bringing them to fruition.)
Gomez, like we said, sounds pretty angry to be getting her name and brand dragged through the mud with all this. Per People, her legal team put out a statement this weekend, stating that "The allegations that Selena Gomez engaged in any way whatsoever in any purported 'fraud' or other wrongdoing are completely meritless, both factually and legally. We will vigorously defend these false allegations and indeed are filing a motion to dismiss the baseless claims against her." Teefey and Pierson, both named as co-defendants, haven't made public statements as of yet.

Lucy Davis, who is known for her appearance in The Office, has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The star took to her Instagram account to post this heartbreaking news.
According to her update, the actor has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Following her revelation, The Office star also pointed out that the cancer was incurable, as it has already metastasized into her bones. Furthermore, such a situation also leaves her in a helpless state, as chemotherapy will probably not help her situation.
Elaborating on her illness, Davis pointed out how she had a small lump on her breast. However, since the lump was small, the 53-year-old ignored it, which led to the cancer spreading further. Advising her followers, Davis asked them not to disregard any symptoms and get checked immediately.
Davis wrote on her Instagram, "As of now, I'm trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can. I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there's a lot I have learned from it, and I'm grateful for that. As some of you will know, the pain can really be something else. Standing and walking for too long a time can be hard, and I need to use a wheelchair sometimes (so if you see me toddling around in one, feel free to give me a push!)"
Continuing with her long message, The Office actor also made an important request to all her friends and family. She stated that everybody must continue making fun of her and teasing her like before. The 53-year-old further reflected that there was no worse feeling for a sick person than when their family treats them as if they were unwell.

Royal resemblances within King Charles's family are often noted, particularly between parents and their children in photographs from the archive.
The similarities between Princess Charlotte and her father, the Prince of Wales, and her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, are often picked up in their childhood photographs.
And in a post shared by the Royal Collection Trust to mark King Charles's birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, royal watchers couldn't help but notice the similarities between the image of two-year-old Prince Charles, and his youngest son, Prince Harry.
The photograph shows Charles riding in a carriage with his late grandmother, the Queen Mother, and his aunt, the late Princess Margaret, at Trooping the Colour in 1951. His mother, Elizabeth II, had taken the salute on behalf of King George VI who was unwell.
The young prince can be seen seated between his grandmother and his aunt, wearing a double-breasted collared coat with a tartan blanket on his lap.

A black labrador had to be rescued from the UK's highest mountain after falling seriously ill when she ate cannabis, her owner has said.
Five-year-old Tokyo became unwell and even lost consciousness several hours into a hike up Scotland's Ben Nevis last Sunday, according to her owner Christina Bluhme.
"She'd been so happy eating treats and drinking and had been her very active normal self," Bluhme, a professional dog trainer, told CNN on Monday. The two had been trekking alongside Bluhme's 17-year-old son Magnus and their two-year-old golden labrador, Blaze.
Then things took a dramatic turn as they approached the peak of the mountain, which stands at 4,413 feet (1,345 meters).
"We were maybe an hour from the top when we noticed Tokyo got really weak in her hind quarters," said Bluhme.

Norway team doctor Ola Sand has dismissed claims that Erling Haaland was unwell ahead of their game against England. The two nations squared off in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals on Saturday, with the Three Lions punching their ticket to the semifinals via a 2-1 win after extra time.
The matchup was hyped as a Harry Kane vs. Haaland showdown, yet neither forward managed to find the back of the net. It was Jude Bellingham who commanded the spotlight, his brace across the first half of normal time and extra time proving decisive in overcoming a first-half opener from Andreas Schjelderup.
Throughout the contest, Haaland was effectively neutralized by the England backline, and was notably hauled off at the break of extra time with Norway desperately chasing an equalizer. This prompted widespread speculation that an underlying issue may have been at play, via The Mirror.

Dave Portnoy has a new book coming out, along with a spiffy Wall Street Journal profile piece to go with it.
As one might expect, that means the Barstool Sports founder has some big claims to make about his media empire's rise and how he's kept it successful and profitable despite critics and controversy.
"Dave Portnoy Has One Rule for Success: Hire Great People and 'Let Them Run Wild'" from Joshua Chaffin hit the WSJ on Friday night, and includes many of the usual topics about Portnoy. A recounting of his rise, examples of how he's maintained success, and how he's staved off the many, many times he and Barstool have been accused of misogyny, racism, and more.
Within the piece, there are references to Call Her Daddy, the raunchy advice-and-comedy podcast created by Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn in 2018. The infamous podcast was a huge hit for Barstool, but by 2020, Cooper and Franklyn were at odds with Portnoy, and their partnership was starting to show signs of fraying. Franklyn ended up leaving the show, while Cooper continued to host the podcast at Barstool until 2021, when she signed an exclusive deal with Spotify and eventually launched the Unwell Network.
While Call Her Daddy was a prime example of Barstool as an incubator for rising talent, it also proved a cautionary experience for Portnoy, showing how success often leads people to take their talents elsewhere.

Sean Hannity of Fox News took to social media to address speculation and concern that had started swirling online over his appearance. Some fans had expressed worries about Hannity, 64, looking unwell.
On June 24, Hannity addressed what some people had noticed. He posted his statement on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, "While training, I developed a painful pinched nerve in my neck. My doctor put me on prednisone to reduce the inflammation."
Hannity noted that the prednisone is helping, but "it led to laryngitis and some puffiness, which is normal for this medication." He added, "I'm fine, recovering well, and still training."
The Fox personality thanked everybody who had checked in on him and noted he had addressed the concerns more than once on his radio show, as well.
He quipped, "Apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success."
