Inter Milan produced another rousing comeback to beat Udinese 5-3 at San Siro and continue their perfect start to the new Serie A campaign.
Udinese had taken a shock 2-0 lead through James Abankwah's early header and then a close-range strike from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp.
The Nerazzurri - who had come from 2-0 down to beat Napoli late on in their last Serie A game - fought back as Carlos Augusto drilled in a long-range effort and Nicolo Barella equalized before half-time.
Marcus Thuram's sweeping finish completed the turnaround in the 57th minute, before England defender John Stones - making a first start since his free transfer move from Manchester City - limped off having pulled up after chasing an Udinese breakaway.
Pio Esposito and substitute Ange-Yoan Bonny then wrapped things up, with Idrissa Gueye scoring a late consolation for the visitors, as Cristian Chivu's men kept pace with leaders Roma on a 100% record from four league games.

We know, for example, that as predicted, Inter are still the team to beat. It was already clear on paper, but the pitch has confirmed it. Three wins from three matches - nothing extraordinary so far - plus the icing on the cake of that crazy comeback against Napoli: an exciting run, top of the table alongside Roma, and the feeling, this time for real, of having not quite two full teams but at least plenty of quality alternatives available.
Against the Azzurri, Chivu called on Thuram, Curtis Jones, Carlos Augusto, Çalhanoglu and Bonny from the bench, managing to turn around the 0-2 lead Allegri had built. Just a few days before their Champions League opener, the Romanian coach allowed himself the luxury of rotation against the runners-up of Italy, and still came away with three points (however hard-fought they were).
This opening stretch of Serie A has also told us that the two genuine challengers to Inter in the Scudetto race seem to be Roma and Como, with Juve and Milan still in the midst of a full revamp and a Napoli side that is changing its identity and already sits 6 points off the top.

Juventus had won their first two games of the season, but it would be entirely fair to say that they had come close to leaving those matches ruing missed opportunities. Each of them could've been put away long time before they were, and indeed one of the major talking points headed into Sunday's matchup against AC Milan was the fact that the Bianconeri had gotten the results without reaching the level of performance they desired. Milan were in the same boat, winning two straight under new manager Ruben Amorim but not convincing in either. It felt as though the team that managed to perform better would be the likelier to come out of the Allianz on top.
It was ultimately Juve that had the better of a game that was equal parts chaotic and sloppy. But once again they failed to take advantage of their performances. They failed to make the most of the chances they made over the game's first 70 minutes before Milan scored on — stop me if you've heard this one before — their first shot on target of the match. It took until the second minute of stoppage time for Juve to finally even things out, when Federico Gatti powered home a Teun Koopmeiners cross from six yards to earn the Old Lady a 1-1 draw.
The problems for Juventus were the same as we've talked about all season so far. The finishing wasn't nearly good enough, the passing was disjointed and often inaccurate, and overall creativity seemed to be lacking. But in spite of all of that, they can honestly say that they were the better of the two sides and deserved victory — even more so when you consider the fact that Milan's goal really should've been disallowed for a foul in the buildup that was never flagged by VAR. Considering they were missing seven players due to injury, several of whom were extremely important, it's far too early to start abandoning hope of a successful year—provided they make the improvements that their play so far suggest is possible.
Luciano Spalletti was missing Kenan Yildiz, Weston McKennie, Khéphren Thuram, Andrea Cambiaso, Jeff Ekhator, Juan Cabal, and Pape Matar Sarr. His 4-2-3-1 formation gave several players their first starts of the year. Guglielmo Vicario started behind the back four of Pierre Kalulu, Bremer, Jhon Lucumí, and Zeki Celik. Manuel Locatelli and Douglas Luiz started in the middle of the park, while Francisco Conceição joined Nico González and Kerim Alajbegovic behind Randal Kolo Muani in attack.

Inter produced an epic comeback to beat bitter rivals Napoli 3-2 in a breathless Serie A showdown at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Despite trailing by two goals at the 55-minute mark, Cristian Chivu's side summoned their champions' mentality to overturn the deficit and preserve their perfect start to the Scudetto defense.
There was nothing to separate Inter and Napoli at halftime, with both teams squandering several promising chances to open the scoring. Massimiliano Allegri's team enjoyed a dream start to the second half as Matteo Politano broke the deadlock against his former club only five minutes into the second half.
Buoyed by the Italian winger's opener, Napoli continued to push forward and quickly found what they may have considered a crucial second goal. Rasmus Hojlund launched a perfectly placed low shot into the bottom corner to put clear daylight between the sides, giving Inter a mountain to climb in the final 40 minutes of the game.

After losing Kenan Yildiz, Jeff Ekhator and Khephren Thuram to injuries in recent weeks,Tuttosport claims Juventus will also be without Juan Cabal, who has suffered an injury.
The Colombian was expected to leave the club on deadline day, with Atalanta showing interest in his signature and Juve lining up a replacement for him. However, La Dea did not advance their interest, meaning Cabal remained with the Bianconeri.
He will now hope to win back the trust of Luciano Spalletti, although his situation had already been difficult before the injury. The manager had seemingly given up on him and was behind the club's push to offload him during this transfer window.
In the end, Cabal stayed at Juventus and would probably have received some game time as the season progressed. His continued presence in the squad could have given him an opportunity to change Spalletti's opinion and fight his way back into the manager's plans.

On Saturday, a struggling Juventus were buoyed by a pair of very unusual suspects — guys most fans figured would be gone, or at least on their way out the door, by this point in the transfer window. Unable to penetrate a deep-lying Parma defense, it was Nico González who gave a moribund attack an instant shot in the arm, forcing a magical save before scoring a deflected goal off his own rebound to open the scoring. Then, with two minutes left, the game was sealed by another unlikely goalscorer: Teun Koopmeiners, who had just come on after an injury to Andrea Cambiaso and finished off a quick attack with a beautiful finish.
The unlikely redemption arcs from players most ****** umed were out of the team's plans, or at least on the very fringes, were welcome developments for a team that learned this week that their talisman, Kenan Yildiz, would miss two to three months once he undergoes surgery on a broken metatarsal. Enrico Delprato, Mariano Troilo, Dominik Drobnic, and Emanuele Valeri arrayed themselves in front of him. Sascha Britschgi and Mandela Keita bookended Christian Ordóñez and Adrían Bernabé in midfield. El Bilal Touré and Simone Lontani started up front. Drobnic and Lontani were both teenagers, and the former was making his debut.

Douglas Luiz is back at Juventus, and this time, it looks like he'll stick around.
During his half-season loan spell back at Aston Villa earlier in the year, the Brazilian showcased why the Old Lady shell out north of €50 million for him two summers ago. However, they were only looking temporary reinforcement in place of their injured players and did not sign him back permanently.
Upon his return to Turin, Luiz has found circumstances markedly different to the ones that made him a pariah at the club. His ostracism came about during Thiago Motta's ill-fated term at the club, while Igor Tudor never really took an interest in him. And while Luciano Spalletti did like his profile and what he brought to the table, he never really got the chance.
Until now. Luiz has featured consistently throughout pre-season, having been appreciated by Spalletti and Juve faithful alike. Spalletti likes his ability to dictate the tempo of the game at will, and in his preferred 4-2-3-1 setup Luiz is seemingly fitting in nicely.
Given Khéphren Thuram's persistent knee struggles, he could end up being relied upon even more, and is currently, arguably, one of the first names on the team sheet as Juve prepare to kick off their Serie A campaign against Frosinone this Sunday.

It didn't take long for us to have our first Juventus injury of the worry for preseason training. And just like the most notable one that is basically carrying over from the end of the 2025-26 season that had us all wondering how the heck the best player on the roster was going to look when he played in his first World Cup, this is something that has not gone away since Juve's season-ending draw to Torino in May.
So while Kenan Yildiz's lingering knee issue will certainly be a topic of discussion when he returns from his deserved albeit shortened summer vacation after spending a few weeks in North America last month, the first day of Juventus players rolling up to Continassa for training and medical exams revealed something.
More specifically, a thing on Khephren Thuram's right knee.
That is because the knee issue that hampered Thuram late in the 2025-26 season is still present. And that was evident as Thuram walked out of J Medical after Monday's checkups with a fairly large wrap on his right knee — a clear sign that the femoro-patellar syndrome is still a thing. Thuram has not been training with the rest of the group at Continassa as manager Luciano Spalletti leads his first preseason in Turin, and it's unclear when one of Juventus' most important players will actually join the rest of his teammates as they wait for the small number of World Cup participants to arrive over the next couple of weeks.
Thuram is not expected to take part in the first preseason friendly of the summer on Saturday when Juventus travel to Switzerland to face old friend Stephan Lichtsteiner and FC Basel.

In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Sunderland are in the mix to land Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram. It has been stated that the Black Cats would have to compete with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign the French midfield ace this summer.
The 25-year-old put in a string of impressive displays at the centre of Juventus’ midfield in the previous campaign. Thuram scored four times and picked up five ******* ists in 45 matches for the Turin outfit last season across all fronts.

NEW DELHI, July 3 (Reuters) - India's coal-fired power generation surged to a near-three-year high in June because of increased cooling demand ‌from higher temperatures from an extended heatwave and below-average monsoon rainfall, government ‌data showed.
India's total electricity generation in June rose 10.4% from a year ago to 178.31 billion kilowatt‑hours, according to Reuters calculations of daily data from federal grid regulator Grid-India.
Coal-fired power generation rose about 14% year-on-year to 120.20 billion kWh in June, the highest since November 2023, the data showed.
Last month, India logged its fifth-driest June since 1901 due to a ‌strong El Nino pattern, with ⁠searing heat driving demand for cooling, according to weather office data. The El Nino is a weather phenomenon caused by a warming ⁠of the Pacific Ocean waters off South America that tends to cause hot, dry weather in South and Southeast Asia.

Rayan Cherki’s (22) frustration over his limited playing time at the World Cup is growing, according to a report from L’Équipe. Despite arriving at the tournament following an excellent debut season with Manchester City, the 22-year-old has played just 55 minutes across four substitute appearances for Didier Deschamps’ side.

After missing out on Champions League qualification, record-time Serie A champions Juventus are preparing for a massive summer overhaul. Despite Dusan Vlahovic’s imminent departure, head coach Luciano Spalletti is particularly keen on reinforcing the midfield department.

France got the final part of their World Cup preparations underway by hosting Ivory Coast in Nantes. Didier Deschamps, who was serenaded for his return to his former La Beaujoire ground, opted to give PSG’s Champions League winners at his disposal a breather.
With Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé all benched, Rayan Cherki was handed the playmaker role, between left-winger Marcus Thuram and Michael Olise on the other side. Les Bleus captain Kylian Mbappé leads the line.
France dominated possession, but they were far from clinical in the final third. Kylian Mbappé and Rayan Cherki missed big chances in the first half, whereas Ivory Coast’s best chances stemmed from Les Bleus’ unforced errors. Mike Maignan proved alert to save Aurélien Tchouaméni’s blushes after the Real Madrid midfielder was too easily dispossessed by Simon Adingra.
Ivory Coast goalkeeper Yahia Fofana was called into action more often than not, but there was nothing he could do to prevent Cherki from opening the scoring. The Manchester City playmaker recovered the ball from Ibrahima Konaté, breezed past Seko Fofana and Yan Diomandé before finding the bottom right corner.
