French energy distributor Rubis just proved that expensive oil does not have to mean ugly numbers. First-half profits jumped, guidance went up and investors rewarded the French energy distributor with a roughly 5% share-price pop.
Rubis shares climbed after the French energy distribution and renewables group delivered a strong first half and upgraded its full-year outlook.
Revenue rose 24% to €4.07 billion (about $4.8 billion) in the six months to June, while EBITDA increased 18% to €434 million from €369 million a year earlier.
Net income attributable to shareholders climbed 17% to €191 million, with diluted earnings per share also rising 17% to €1.85.

Rapid reaction from the Tennessee ***** ans' 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears at Nissan Stadium in the final of three preseason games:
Robert Saleh, deviating from the original plan, opted to rest most – but not all – of the ***** ans' starters for this final preseason game. Cam Ward, Jeffery Simmons, Wan'Dale Robinson, Calvin Ridley and others weren't in uniform, but several expected ***** ans contributors did play. Among them: Receivers Carnell Tate, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, right guard Fernando Carmona Jr., defensive linemen Solomon Thomas, Jordan Elliott and Jacob Martin, nickel cornerback Marcus Harris and linebackers Cedric Gray, Anthony Hill Jr. and James Williams Sr.
It wasn't the first-string this time, but the ***** ans' defense didn't start well in this preseason game, either, giving up a 97-yard touchdown on the Bears' first offensive snap when cornerback Keydrain Calligan fell down in coverage. Later in the first half, Chicago capped a 16-play, 69-yard drive with a second TD pass for quarterback Tyson Bagent, who was 16-of-17 passing for 208 yards.
Tate did not record a catch in three preseason games. He was targeted only once against the Bears, diving unsuccessfully for a deep ball thrown by quarterback Will Levis into the end zone. While the ***** ans surely would've liked to get more production from their rookie No. 4 overall draft pick in the preseason games, it eased some concerns to see Tate bounce back from a brief rough patch and play a starring role during this past week's joint practice with the Bears.
In what might've been his final game in a ***** ans' uniform, Levis started at quarterback (Mitch Trubisky didn't play, either) and went 14-of-22 passing for 143 yards. Vols legend Hendon Hooker played the rest of the way after halftime. Cut day will be here quickly on Aug. 30. It'll be interesting to see what happens with these two quarterbacks.

Ben Roethlisberger's arm ligaments turned al dente sometime around 2019. The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense behind him remained strong. That juxtaposition created the broken path that leads us to 2026. That's the year where the Steelers, in a league where most teams will have only two quarterbacks on their active roster, plan to keep four passers at the 53-man cutdown day.
That's what first-year head coach Mike McCarthy told ESPN's Brooke Pryor to expect when rosters as finalized August 30 at 6 p.m. ET. His QB1 will be a soon-to-be 43-year-old Aaron Rodgers, heavily diminished from his MVP peak. His veteran backup will be Mason Rudolph, exiled to Nashville in 2024 to bring his special brand of underwhelming football to the Tennessee ***** ans before reuniting with the team last year. Behind them, for now, is the duo of mid-round draft picks Pittsburgh picked up as lottery tickets in hopes they may have dug a diamond from a coal mine: Will Howard (sixth round, 2026) and Drew Allar (third round, 2026).
The need for four quarterbacks can be traced back to the end of the Roethlisberger era. This team was too competent to fall to a top 10 draft pick as the two-time Super Bowl champion's arm weakened and his average target distance dropped to league lows. Stopgap solutions followed; Mitchell Trubisky. Kenny Pickett. Rudolph. Russell Wilson. Justin Fields. Now, it's Rodgers.
When Pickett, the first quarterback selected in one of the worst quarterback drafts of all time, failed, the Steelers bought in to retread passers just good enough to keep the team at slightly above average. Playoff appearances followed. Playoff wins did not. Between weak draft position and the franchise's general distaste for big free agent splashes -- missing out on Kirk Cousins (good!) and Sam Darnold (not as good!) -- Pittsburgh went from renting to owning its place in contender's limbo.
2026 has marked the franchise's desire to stay there. Mike Tomlin, architect of zero losing seasons in 19 years at the helm, parted ways with the team. Rather than start fresh with a rising young head coach, the team hired Mike McCarthy, a man with a 126-80-2 record in the regular season since 2011 and a 6-9 playoff record. It brought back Rodgers, who can no longer use his legs to extend plays and has been forced into a diet of short, quick passes to avoid pressure even as his otherworldly arm talent remains in flashes of "remember when?" And, importantly, rather than casting his lot with Howard and Allar in case of injury and letting the chips fall where they may, McCarthy is keeping Rudolph as QB2.

The Tennessee ******* ans took to the field for a hot training camp practice on Monday and watched a key backup head to the locker room early with what could be a devastating injury.
Veteran quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who was brought in to be Cam Ward's backup due to his experience and familiarity in Brian Daboll's system, left practice early holding his arm, and after practice, head coach Robert Saleh verified that he was being evaluated for a bicep injury.
"Trubisky is getting looked at for his bicep," Saleh said after practice. "I think we're good, but again, I'm the eternal optimist."
Trubisky looked solid in his limited playing time against the San Francisco 49ers, leading two scoring drives and going 2-for-3 passing for 23 yards. But now, this injury clouds his availability moving forward and could hand Will Levis a lifeline.
Entering camp, Levis was competing with Trubisky to be Ward's backup, but has struggled with consistency in practice and dealt with poor offensive line play during his outing against the 49ers. Heading into the week, it appeared like Levis had lost ground in the competition, but could now be thrust into a larger role.

The Tennessee ******* ans will be in Santa Clara for a joint practice and preseason game with the San Francisco 49ers this week, and some of the critical position battles will get a chance to take center stage. However, one of those may already be decided.
When training camp opened, the battles along the interior of the offensive line at center and right guard were two of the most anticipated, but after only two weeks, it appears that free agent addition Austin Schlottmann is close to having the center job locked up. At least, that was one of the big takeaways from ESPN's Turron Davenport in his latest intel report.
The center position is still a competition, but it seems like veteran Austin Schlottmann will win the job. Left guard Peter Skoronski said Schlottmann has helped accelerate his learning process because of their time together with the ******* ans, when they were with the Giants. Pat Coogan continues to get early reps but has struggled at times with off-target snaps to Mitchell Trubisky during team periods.
This was also backed up by the release of the ******* ans' first depth chart of the preseason, which lists Pat Coogan behind veteran Andre James and Schlottmann. While the depth chart is fluid at this stage, Davenport isn't the only dedicated observer of training camp who has made that ******* ertion after the first two weeks, and it sounds like the right call.

A true college football journeyman, Edwards began his career at Wake Forest in 2021. After redshirting, he transferred to Maryland where he waited behind Tualia Tagovailoa for two seasons. He broke through at the end of 2023 when Tualia opted out of the bowl game and Edwards started and won the bowl MVP. Edwards entered 2024 as the starting QB and began the season well throwing 11 TDs and just 2 INTs as the team went 3-2.

The Tennessee **** ans had a somewhat quiet practice on Thursday ahead of their Friday scrimmage at Nissan Stadium, with the biggest news being the injuries to wide receiver Elic Ayomanor and John Franklin-Myers.
While the lower back issue suffered by Franklin-Myers does not appear to be serious, the team is still evaluating Ayomanor's shoulder. Initial tests showed no stability issues; the training staff is still evaluating it, and an update will likely come Friday.
As is the case in every practice, a few players stood out. Here is a breakdown of some of the players who made an impact today.
Cam Ward had another outstanding day for the **** ans, completing 8-of-11 passes for multiple touchdowns during the team period. The more Ward continues his solid play during the preseason, the better the **** ans' offense could look in the regular season.
Coming off a solid outing on Tuesday, Dike continued to make plays. On Thursday, he pulled in three passes and notched a red zone score on a pass from Mitch Trubisky. With the injury to Elic Ayomanor, the **** ans may need to rely on Dike a bit more over the next few days.

The Tennessee ****** ans took to the field on Tuesday, and tempers boiled over and a punch was thrown, leading to Jeffery Simmons being ejected from practice.
The offense and defense had some spirited competition, but the defense won the day, as the uneven offense sputtered throughout the morning. Even though Cam Ward hit the highlights with a long touchdown to Carnell Tate, his inaccuracies early set the tone.
The intensity was up, and so was the competition, and a few players stood out. Here is a breakdown of some of the players who made an impact today.
Not only did Williams pull in a one-handed interception off Mitch Trubisky, but he also broke up another pass attempt and was all over the field. Williams is clearly battling with Elic Ayomanor for having the best camp, and has to maintain that consistency.
Taylor did give up the big completion to Tate, but other than that was physical and outstanding. The ****** ans are counting on Taylor to help solidify the secondary, and he and Cor'Dale Flott are both showing up.

Will Levis isn't the Tennessee ***** ans' starting quarterback. But he still believes he deserves to be someone's starting quarterback.
"There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me," Levis told reporters after ***** ans practice on Aug. 1. "I know that for sure."
Levis has been practicing as a reserve quarterback behind starter Cam Ward since returning to the ***** ans in the spring. The embattled former ***** ans second-round pick and once-anointed quarterback of the future missed all of 2025 recovering from shoulder surgery, and he's returned to a team with not only Ward as the new quarterback of the future, but also with veteran Mitchell Trubisky installed as the likeliest backup option.
That puts Levis in a precarious position. Levis says one of his biggest emphases while away from the game was on learning how to express feelings he once would've suppressed. He's not holding onto his failures anymore. He's having difficult conversations. He's confronting himself and telling himself the truth. And it's letting him focus on having fun on the field rather than needing to constantly prove himself to the whole world, and to himself.
In Levis' mind, playing that way doesn't at all conflict with the conviction he's holding onto that he deserves to be a starter.

It's still too early to make an official proclamation, but so far, the trade for George Pickens is looking like it may be the most successful. Our rundown series now comes to one of Dallas' brightest stars, and perhaps their most talked-about player this offseason.

2022 was a year of sweeping change for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger retired, there was a new general manager, and the receiver position was also in flux. George Pickens was part of this new offensive era, a second-round pick to go with first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett. Unlike the rookie QB, Pickens was an immediate contributor in a trio with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. Pittsburgh traded Claypool away in November, leaving Johnson and Pickens as the clear starting duo.
For three years, Pickens' talent was clear but so were issues with his maturity and relationship with the Steelers. The team struggled to find its next QB, going through the poo-poo platter of Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph before bringing in Russell Wilson in 2023. While Wilson helped bring some respectability back at QB, Pickens' status with the team was already breaking down. Criticism of his effort became public, and he went into his fourth year without a clear path forward in Pittsburgh.
As it turned out, the path led to Dallas. Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick were sent to the Cowboys for a 2026 third-rounder and Dallas' fifth-round pick in 2027. For the Steelers, it was a decent return on a former second-rounder who they clearly had no intention of re-signing after his rookie deal. For the Cowboys, it was an immediate upgrade at WR2 and a much-needed wingman for CeeDee Lamb, who'd been carrying too much of the receiving load since the departure of Amari Cooper and the decline of Michael Gallup.

With so many management misfires over the years in the NFL, it’s tough to find the worst contract in recent history. Here are my top five choices. Could the Rams be number one?
When the Rams signed free agent Allen Robinson to a three-year, $46.5 million contract in 2022, I actually thought it was a great move. Two years before, he’d had a terrific year with Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles throwing to him, and was the team’s leading receiver with 102 receptions and 1,250 yards.
Things went south in 2021 when the Bears cut Trubisky loose and drafted Justin Fields. Fields and Foles split the starts with eight apiece that year with neither having a great year throwing. Robinson also missed some time with Covid, losing ten pounds in the process, and then missed three games with hamstring issues and ended up with only 410 yards receiving.
It had to be the QB play right? Maybe not.
With Matthew Stafford missing eight games that year, Robinson ended up with 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games with the Rams. Recognizing their mistake, the Rams traded him to Pittsburgh for seventh-round draft choice swaps and had to eat about $10 million of the $15 million guaranteed salary.

Tennessee ****** ans wide receiver Xavier Restrepo reached back with one hand near the goal line for an Odell Beckham Jr.-style catch from quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Later, quarterback Will Levis targeted Restrepo for a one-on-one jump ball in the corner of the end zone on the final play of practice. It was intercepted.
The two plays at Day 2 of mandatory minicamp gave a glimpse into what the ****** ans have at wide receiver before the team starts training camp in July. It also gave a sneak peak of how different sizes and play styles mesh with new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s offense.
The smaller receivers did the bulk of the big plays on June 17.
Wan’Dale Robinson led the team with eight receptions; Restrepo had five grabs and K.J. Osborn made several key catches.

The Tennessee ******* ans made significant changes to their roster on both sides of the ball during the offseason, and many of those changes have been hot topics across various media outlets, with players such as John Franklin-Myers and Wan’Dale Robinson drawing most of the attention. However, one player that general manager Mike Borgonzi added is flying under the radar: Mitch Trubisky.
Trubisky was a solid pickup and clearly an upgrade over the players the ******* ans had backing up Cam Ward in 2025. While he has not had a lights-out career, his experience in both Brian Daboll’s system and with the pressure of his draft pedigree makes him the perfect choice to help Ward ******* imilate into the system.
“It was a tough decision, but in the end I felt like it was right for me and my family just to take this opportunity to come and really reunite with Dabes and Shea. It’s just evolved over the years, and it has been proven everywhere he’s been that they put up points and it is very friendly for the quarterback. So you just got to dive in, know the execution, go out there and find completions, and it’s a really fun system to play in.”
His knowledge and experience in this system will be a valuable ******* et for Ward to lean on during the season and should also give head coach Robert Saleh confidence in the quarterback room heading into the year. There is always hope that a team will never have to use their backup, but at least now, if they have to call on Trubisky, he will be ready.

The Tennessee ******* ans were back on the field today to kick off the final week of offseason team activities (OTAs), and there was plenty of action. While there were no press conferences or player interviews, media outlets were able to observe the session and take in the competition.
One of the most noticeable things during the practice was once again the absence of second-year edge Femi Oladejo. This is a somewhat disturbing situation that has flown under the radar during open OTAs and should be addressed at some point.
Quarterback Mitch Trubisky did return to action and reportedly showed a solid command of the offense, but there were no signs of Femi Oladejo, Amani Hooker, Jeffery Simmons, Dan Moore Jr, or Cor'Dale Flott.
Tennessee will have the same type of open session on Tuesday, as well as a final open practice scheduled for Friday, as the team works toward its upcoming mandatory minicamp.
