The New York Giants on Monday announced the extent of a massive renovation project at their East Rutherford, N.J. headquarters.
In a statement released by the team, the Giants say the renovations will "expand and transform their team headquarters, anchored by a new and modern football-focused facility designed to elevate player performance, preparation, and recovery."
Work began several months ago, and is expected to be completed in advance of the 2028 season.
"This is a significant investment in the future of our football operation," said Giants President and CEO John Mara in a statement released by the team. "We believe it is our responsibility to provide our players, coaches, and staff with the resources and environment they need to succeed. As the game continues to evolve, we must continue to evolve with it. This project reflects our commitment to our people and to building a foundation that will support the New York Giants for years to come."
The project will include approximately 93,500 square feet of new construction and 46,000 square feet of renovations.

Indianapolis tennis legend Barbara Wynne passed away on July 18 at the age of 93.
Wynne's family goes way beyond her six children, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The Shortridge High School graduate was a massive force in Central Indiana tennis, paving the way for young talent to thrive in the sport.
Wynne helped establish the North Side Tennis Club in 1964, which eventually became the Indianapolis Community Tennis Program. Wynne began the public tennis program "with the vision that tennis can enhance one's athletic ability, as well as one's personal life," according to ICTP.
Wynne's program went from her backyard court to eight courts at North Central, where thirty courts and a tennis house were eventually built. Washington Township completed a multi-million-dollar renovation of the tennis house in 2003. The 30-court facility was named the Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center.
In 1984, twenty years after founding her tennis club, Wynne's program began "Kids Helping Kids," a charity project to benefit Riley Children's Foundation. Young tennis players raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Riley Hospital for Children.

And given the development of both the stadium and the city, Goodell hinted at Charlotte playing host to a future Super Bowl.

Donald Trump hosted the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers at the White House on Thursday for the team's second trip to the White House in two years.

The Panthers have played at Bank of America Stadium since 2004 and they will continue playing there for years to come.
The team and the bank announced a multi-year extension of the naming rights agreement on Thursday. That agreement is one of the longest-running naming rights deals in the league and it comes as a significant renovation of the stadium takes place.
Funding for the project was established in 2024 when the city of Charlotte agreed to spend $650 million of the $800 million renovation. On Thursday, the Panthers announced that owner David Tepper will spend an additional $500 million toward the project. Tepper Sports and Entertainment has also agreed to pay for any overages in the now $1.3 billion venture.
"The long-term extension with Bank of America reflects the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to the Carolinas," Tepper said in a statement. "For over three decades, Bank of America Stadium has helped create lasting memories for our fans and we're excited for them to see what's ahead. Our goal is to create experiences that enhance the passion and energy of the region while transforming this corridor into a weekend destination for world-class sports, entertainment and community events."
In addition to upgrading the stadium, the project will also include the construction of a 4,400-seat entertainment venue. The Panthers will remain at home through the renovation, which will focus on interior work in 2026 before moving on to fan-facing areas in 2027.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A judge in the nation's capital has set a trial date in September for a former Olympic canoe racer charged with deliberately damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, the site of a troubled multimillion-dollar renovation project championed by President Donald Trump.
D.C. Superior Court Judge Todd Edelman scheduled the Sept. 28 trial date for David Hearn during a hearing on Monday. It was Hearn's second court appearance since a grand jury indicted him on a felony count of property destruction.
Hearn, who pleaded not guilty to the charge on July 9, has asked the court to dismiss the case. In a court filing, his attorneys argued the government has failed to properly preserve important physical evidence from the Reflecting Pool.
At least three other people have been charged in the same court with misdemeanors for allegedly removing pieces of paint from the Reflecting Pool. The felony charge against Hearn, which accuses him of causing at least $1,000 in damage to the pool, carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years upon conviction.
Trump ordered the pool's renovation work ahead of the country's 250th independence celebrations, but the project has been plagued by problems. Trump initially suggested that pool renovations would cost $1.5 million, but the cost of the project has exceeded $16 million.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The newly drained Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool's bottom surface has noticeably faded since it was lined with a protective coating in a color President Donald Trump called "American flag blue" this spring.
An **** ociated Press reporter and photographer viewed the fenced-off Reflecting Pool on Wednesday from the top of the Washington Monument. The new liner appears grayer than when the pool was repainted and refilled with water in early June. Debris that had been visible earlier this week after the pool was drained is now largely gone, after work crews removed it.
Trump's problem-plagued effort to revamp the landmark has stretched well past his initial goal of having the Reflecting Pool ready by July 4 for the nation's 250th birthday.
The president at first suggested his renovations would cost $1.5 million, but the bill ballooned to more than $16 million by June.
Trump had said the repairs would last a century, but within days of the project's initial completion last month, the water was beset by an algae bloom and pieces of the new coating appeared to be peeling off the bottom.

The lack of private investment in the Blazers' renovation proposal is a red line for some city councilors. "That is probably my number one issue. I am going to have a hard time agreeing to give public money if I'm not seeing a private investment. That is what public-private investment means, and I will be demanding that that comes true," Councilor Candace Avalos said in a work session in June. Other councilors want the team to pay rent, share arena naming rights revenue, or split money made from non-NBA events at Moda Center to offset the city's investment – like other teams have agreed to in other deals.

A Democratic senator on Saturday alleged that whistleblowers have detailed several problems stemming from rushed or improper reconstruction of the Kennedy Center, adding a new layer to the travails of the arts complex as President Donald Trump tried to seize control of it and its name.
Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island said in a release on Saturday that he had received a whistleblower disclosure from the Government Accountability Project, a nonprofit whistleblower protection group, alleging that "the Center rushed a series of renovations driven by the President's aesthetic whims and his desire to star in a series of televised events in December."
"The Center's subservience to the President's desires and its corner-cutting contracting practices have resulted in steel columns that are rusting through fresh paint, a reflecting pool that may have to be torn out and rebuilt, and a brand-new bathroom floor torn out over an offending tile color," Whitehouse continued. "This is waste, and it treats a national memorial to President Kennedy as if it were a private renovation project."
The Kennedy Center did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

One of Indiana's greatest college football rivalries will be played on a neutral site for the first time in more than a century.
And the game will take place in Muncie.
DePauw and Wabash will play the annual "Monon Bell" game at Scheumann Stadium on the campus of Ball State University Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026. The news was announced on Friday, July 10.
DePauw's football stadium is going through a two-year renovation project, meaning this year's game had to be moved elsewhere. It's the first time in 104 years the game will not be played on either school's campus.
"We're thrilled to partner with Ball State as the host for one of the most-storied rivalries in college sports," said DePauw athletic director Stevie Baker-Watson in a press release. "Scheumann Stadium will provide both fan bases with an excellent experience while maintaining the traditions that have become so important to both institutions."

The golf architecture team of Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner have signed on to restore Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda, a seaside course originally designed by C.B. Macdonald with collaborator Seth Raynor and opened in 1921. The course work will follow a clubhouse renovation and upgrade, with the course slated to close for the restoration in the fall of 2027.
Mid Ocean was the only course Macdonald, a famed Golden Age architect, designed outside the United States. Mid Ocean, which accepts limited non-member play, ranks No. 6 on the 2026 Golfweek’s Best list of top courses in the Caribbean, Mexico, South America and the Atlantic islands. It also ranks among the top 100 courses outside the United States.
"C.B. Macdonald is on my personal Mount Rushmore of golf architects, so it’s an honor to have the opportunity to work on another of his courses," Hanse – who also restored Macdonald’s designs at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, The Creek Club and Yale Golf Course – said in a media release announcing the project. "He only built 10 or 12 golf courses, depending on how many you credit to him. The fact that we now have a significant opportunity at Mid Ocean Club means the world to us.
"Every single golf course C.B. Macdonald worked on was impactful, not only from the standpoint of that particular club, but in the world of golf course architecture."
Macdonald pioneered the use of template holes in his designs, using the concepts of great holes abroad to recreate strategic demands with “ideal holes.” One particular template in play at Mid Ocean – the Cape Hole design at No. 5, a par 4 that launches off an elevated tee then curves around a lake – was described by Hanse as “one of the greatest holes in the world.”

Bundesliga club Werder Bremen's stadium operators will not rush to have a partially collapsed section of their stands re-opened.
"Safety comes before speed," Hans-Jörg Otto, managing director of ther stadium operator, told reporters. "That is our top priority.
"The whole thing must be repaired properly and in accordance with building regulations, so that all future visitors do not have to worry about sitting in an unsafe stand."
Bremen said on Wednesday that a small section of an upper tier stand collapsed when a load-bearing pillar was accidently damaged during stadium renovation work.
The club said that no one was hurt and that there was no danger of other sections of the stand collapsing as well.

Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is less than two months away from fully reopening after two years of renovations.
Memphis officials took media members on a tour of the new West Tower at the stadium on July 7, unveiling some of the new suites and boxes that are still expected to be completed before the Tigers host Arkansas State on Sept. 5 in the home opener.
"We are a basketball school and a football school," athletic director Ed Scott said. "We are an everything school. And we want to win in everything. And this is a very clear indication of that."
The renovation cost $226.5 million and has impacted the last two football seasons, with the Tigers playing in a partially open stadium in 2024 and 2025. The new tower has different levels of suites and loge boxes as well.
The rest of the stadium has also undergone renovations, with new video boards and sound systems part of the plans as well. The work on the north tunnel is ongoing, but Scott said last month that he's still expecting that to be completed before the Arkansas State game.

OTTUMWA — It may be the last time an Ottumwa High School softball team competes on the field that bares his name.
Frank Huston made sure to get the final ball thrown in a game on what has been, for the past 52 years, the home diamond of the 28-time state qualifiers and two-time state champions. Huston came very close this season to achieving one last milestone on the field he has helped oversee and take care of for the past five decades, reaching 1,899 career wins on Monday with Ottumwa's doubleheader sweep of Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
The Bulldogs made short work of the final scheduled high school varsity softball doubleheader to be played at Huston Field, winning each game in four innings with a 12-1 win in game one and a 13-3 win in game two. Breanna Griffiths and Caysen Thompson, two of Ottumwa's four seniors to play in their final scheduled home game for the program, each hit their very first home runs at Huston Field as part of the opening-game victory for the Bulldogs while Lily Garrison connected on her second career Huston Field homer in game two helping OHS erase an early three-run deficit.
"There have been a lot of good memories here. It's hard to leave," Huston said. "If everything goes according to plan, this field will be used next season as the junior high's home field."
That would be because Ottumwa is scheduled to have a new home softball complex to call home next season. As part of the Greater Ottumwa Park renovation plan that was approved three years ago, the quadrant of the park where John Hart Stadium and the Ottumwa Babe Ruth baseball complex is located is set to have 16 new fields in place including what would be the new diamond for the Bulldog high school softball team.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Trump administration will not seek new bids to repair the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said Sunday as he faced new questions about the troubled project and the taxpayer money involved.
Like President Donald Trump, Burgum said he was 100% sure that vandals caused the damage to the century-old Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. Trump has charged that a 350-foot gash was cut into the pool's liner in the midst of recent renovations, while Burgum described it as multiple cuts adding up to that figure. He also said the pool would have to be at least partially drained in the coming week to finish the repairs.
The repairs will not be opened up to new contractors, he said.
"We'll use the same company, because they did a fantastic job," Burgum told CNN's "State of the Union." "Thankfully, the vandalism was small. It was bad. I mean, it could cost tens of thousands of dollars to repair, so then it could fall into a felony ... just like damaging any other government property could. But the job that was done to fix the Reflecting Pool was done extremely well."

Several months before blue strips started floating to the surface of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, a company involved in its last renovation more than 15 years ago was approached with an opportunity to do this remodel as well. But the company said no.
Specifically, it balked at two requirements – the Trump administration wanted it done by July 4, and the pool bottom had to be blue, according to two employees with the New Jersey-based Sika Corporation, which provided the concrete construction and sealing products for a 2010 renovation project to the Reflecting Pool.
According to the two employees, who spoke to CNN on the condition they not be identified, both demands made the job "unfeasible."
Ultimately, Rhino Linings, which is most popular for its truck bed linings but also says on its website it can be used for water facilities, was chosen to provide materials for the latest Reflecting Pool renovation.

"Sister, Sister" star Tamera Mowry-Housley has brought her longtime California dwelling to the market for $2.7 million—months after revealing that she and her husband were in the process of building their "dream" family abode in Napa Valley.
Mowry, 47, and her spouse, Adam Housley, 54, announced in April that they had embarked on a very extensive renovation of a dilapidated property in wine country. Records show they purchased it for $3.8 million in October 2024.
At the time, the actress, who shot to fame while starring in the hit Nickelodeon series alongside her twin sister, Tia Mowry, admitted that the renovation represented a new chapter in her family's life. She joked that she was both excited and terrified to move to the country.
"I'm so excited but also a little nervous and anxious because I'm a city girl," shared Mowry-Housley, who launched a renovation series on her YouTube account.
Weeks after announcing their exciting news, the couple took the next step in their journey by putting their family's Fairfield, CA, home on the market—15 years after buying the 4,863-square-foot home for $1.4 million.

The battle lines are rapidly hardening in the Portland arena renovation funding right, and the message from Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon is stark and clear: Don’t expect me to help pay for it.
A day after Portland Mayor Keith Wilson publicly pleaded with the city council to approve up to $120 million in municipal funding to renovate the Moda Center, Dundon appeared at a Portland Metro Chamber event late Wednesday and said private financing is not part of his vision to upgrade the 31-year-old, publicly owned venue.
“It feels like we’re making a pretty big investment by staying here and paying these tax rates,” Dundon said at the event, which the business group held at the Moda Center.
While not a specific and overt threat to leave town if the renovation funding bill fails, Dundon did little at the session to dismiss existing fears that he would do so.
“I think everybody can characterize things however they want. I don’t see it the same way, but I’m not trying to get people to agree or disagree with me,” he said.
