Lancashire have appointed Richard Kenyon as their new chief executive after he decided to resign from the same role at Nottinghamshire.
He will replace the outgoing Daniel Gidney, who is set to retire at the end of the year following 14 years at Old Trafford.
Kenyon became CEO at Notts in October but is leaving the current county champions after less than a year to move closer to his family home at Southport.
He previously spent a decade at Everton FC, holding roles as chief commercial and communications officer, as well as chief executive of Everton in the community - the club's charitable organisation - and was involved in the club's move from Goodison Park to Bramley Moore Dock.
"This is a club with a proud history, passionate members and supporters, and tremendous ambition. To have the opportunity to play a leading role in the next chapter of its journey is a real privilege," Kenyon told Lancashire's website.

New York Jets fans are still reeling from the disappointing news that rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq recently suffered a setback when recovering from offseason hernia surgery. Sadiq is now being sidelined at training camp for the foreseeable future. He'll probably miss a large chunk (if not all) of the preseason, too.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn did provide one positive update in regards to Sadiq's status. The 16th overall selection in the 2026 NFL draft is expected to be healthy for Week 1 of the regular season. It's looking like the Jets will have Sadiq available when they travel to Nashville for the opener with the Tennessee ***** ans.
The season opener versus the ***** ans carries more importance than your typical Week 1 game. It's a revenge-game opportunity for players and coaches on both sidelines. The Jets will be facing their former head coach Robert Saleh for the first time. Jets defenders T'Vondre Sweat and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. will also be anxious to defeat their ex team.
The Jets are also excited to debut their new-look offense. Sadiq is among the offseason acquisitions expected to play a major role in Frank Reich's offense, joining the likes of Geno Smith, Dylan Parham, and Omar Cooper Jr. Having Sadiq available against the ***** ans would be a big boost considering the latest injury news.

Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq remains out of practice after core muscle surgery in May, but he's getting closer to a return.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said today that he's optimistic about Sadiq, who should be on the practice field in a couple weeks and ready to go well before Week One.
"We actually got pretty good news the other day," Glenn said. "I'm just crossing my fingers, I'm going to say it's a couple weeks still, but it's not anything that's going to keep him out of the regular season."
The 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, Sadiq played through the injury during his final season at Oregon last year and had the surgery in May. Glenn indicated that once he's fully healed, Sadiq won't need another surgery and the injury will be a non-issue for him going forward.

For the third season in a row, the Oregon Ducks are rolling into the new season with a new leader in the tight end room. First Terrance Ferguson, then Kenyon Sadiq, and now Jamari Johnson will take the helm.
Last season, after transferring to Eugene from Louisville, Johnson saw his role slowly grow into a consistent pass-catcher for the Oregon offense. When Sadiq went down with an injury, Johnson was the one who stepped up and didn't allow the Ducks to skip a beat.
Johnson finished the season with 32 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-5 target has more size than his predecessor, but leading the room is another challenge he will have to take on this season. With the additions of Penn State transfer Andrew Olesh, Clemson transfer Marcus Dixon and freshman Kendre Harrison, there are plenty of talented contributors who still need to learn the playbook in fall camp.
Beyond leading the room, the best ability is availability. After watching Sadiq prepare last season, Johnson may have picked up a thing or two from the first-round pick.
"Film and treatment," Johnson told reporters on Monday. "Those are two things off the field. He's a dog all around. Off the field, (Sadiq) is as good as on the field."

It has been 11 years since the Jets had an offense that ranked in the top half of the league.
A slew of players and coaches have made their way through Florham Park in that time. Every year the team and fans have been looking for new additions to unlock the offense. This year Gang Green and their faithful have two new reasons for hope: tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.
The Jets leveraged their capital in this past draft to obtain three first-round picks. They used two of those picks on Sadiq and Cooper Jr. As soon as their names were called, fans began to speculate what these new Jets can bring to the table.
So, what could these two rookies do to ignite a fire under a Jets' offense that has been cold for over a decade?
The Jets drafted Sadiq at pick 16 in this past draft. The tight end dazzled during his final season at Oregon. Sadiq finished his final collegiate season with 51 receptions, 560 yards and eight trips to the end zone. Sadiq, however, truly made a name for himself at the Draft Combine. The 6-foot-3 tight end stunned the football world, running a 4.39 second 40 time, which set a record for the position.

The start of Kenyon Sadiq's journey in the NFL is not off to the start he would have hoped for. The Oregon Ducks rookie tight end was drafted in the first round by the New York Jets in April as a premier pass-catcher along the line of scrimmage. However, getting on the field is proving to be a struggle.
In the spring, Sadiq missed time to have a minor hernia procedure, which coach Aaron Glenn said the Jets were aware was an issue at Oregon before they drafted him. Glenn said the expectation was for Sadiq to return to the field for the start of training camp. As the Jets progress into the first part of camp, another setback has put Sadiq back on the shelf.
On Tuesday, Glenn announced that Sadiq suffered a setback in his recovery and "will be out for a little bit" during training camp. He does expect the former Oregon star to be ready and suit up for his debut in Week 1 of the season when the Jets travel to face the Tennessee ****** ans on Sept. 13.
Sadiq participated in the first three days of training camp with the Jets, working off to the side in what Glenn called a "maintenance program." He was absent from practice on Monday and Tuesday, which signaled some concern.
It's big news for the rookie tight end as he will likely miss most or all of the preseason and fall further behind on the depth chart. Sadiq's main competition is Mason Taylor, a second-year tight end for the Jets with similar pass-catching abilities. While Sadiq watches from the sideline, Taylor will have the opportunity to put more reps on tape for the coaches to review.

All offseason, there has been legitimate excitement about New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Now that training camp has arrived, Mitchell possesses an opportunity to prove the attention he's been receiving is warranted. He's being positioned to be the offense's WR2 opposite Garrett Wilson.
Jets general manager Darren Mougey recently spoke with reporters at training camp. Mougey expressed excitement over what Mitchell can be for this offense. The arrow continues pointing up for the ascending wideout.
"I'm excited to see Adonai's continued growth," Mougey responded to a question about Mitchell's potential. "He had a good offseason, a good OTAs. We expect to see that continued growth throughout training camp. I'm excited to watch him and that entire wideout room come together."
Mitchell must sustain this momentum to secure his positioning in the Jets' receiving pecking order. The team also drafted former Indiana wideout Omar Cooper Jr. with a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq was another of Mougey's top-32 selections. There is competition for targets in Frank Reich's offense.
The Jets are pumped about what Mitchell's skill set can add to the offense. Starting quarterback Geno Smith is a gunslinger who will be looking to pepper his favorite targets with opportunities. Mitchell continues to take advantage of his opportunities at training camp.

For much of the past decade, the New York Jets operated with a familiar sense of urgency. Every offseason seemed to feature another move designed to accelerate the rebuild.
A high-profile free agent... A blockbuster trade... A veteran expected to solve a lingering problem overnight... The philosophy often centered on finding the missing piece that would finally push the franchise into contention.
Sometimes those moves generated optimism. Too often, they failed to produce lasting results. Now, however, the Jets appear to be taking a different approach, one that prioritizes patience, player development and sustainable roster building over short-term fixes.
Aaron Glenn inherited a roster with talent, but also one that needed a clearer long-term direction. Rather than relying on aging veterans to carry the franchise, the Jets have **** embled one of the NFL's more intriguing young cores.
Garrett Wilson has already established himself as one of the league's top receivers. First-round pick Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq, bring additional offensive firepower, while last year's addition, Adonai Mitchell, enters the season with an opportunity to become a dependable complement to Wilson after flashing promise in 2025.

I broke down the 2027 scouting classes in my early summer scouting series, and the room has a ton of potential with a long list of potential standout players. I broke down the offense and defense in articles and I suggest reading those for a broad aspect of the room. Brock Bowers remains an elite tight end, and arguably the best in the NFL, but the Raiders do have some questions behind Bowers after the 2026 season. Former 2nd rounder Michael Mayer is sent to be a free agent, and with a good season he should be looking at a decent contract as a TE2, blocking specialist. Additionally, Ian Thomas is set to be a free agent and Las Vegas also has former UDFA Carter Runyon, who's flashed, but it's likely even with retaining Mayer the Raiders should add another TE.
These rankings are extremely early, and they will evolve over not only the summer but the next 8-10 months throughout the season, and into draft season. Some lists will feature 10, 15, 20, or more ranked prospects but I'll include others on the list below to note.
Jamari Johnson, Oregon – 6'5/260, R-So
Johnson was a key focal point of the Ducks offense last year with 32 receptions, 510 yards, and 3 TD after coming over from Louisville. He's better than Kenyon Sadiq, and in my opinion has a chance to be a better prospect than Bowers. Johnson has absurd movement skills, he's shown exceptional length, fires off the ball, and Johnson also shows a ton of quickness and movement in his route running. Johnson has fluid hips, he makes his cuts well, and Johnson shows an innate ability to adjust to the ball in the air and come down with tough catches. Where he makes a ton of impact is as a run blocker, where Johnson uses his length and athleticism with good technique, and a ton of lower body power to get off the line of scrimmage and into ***** e. Johnson will need to continue his play as the starter at TE, instead of the supplementary piece, but he has the core traits, athleticism, and technique to be a top 10 pick.

When the New York Jets acquired Geno Smith this offseason, the conversation immediately shifted to the quarterback. Would they get the version who revitalized his career in Seattle Seahawks? Or would they inherit the one who struggled with turnovers during his lone season with the Las Vegas Raiders?
Those are fair questions. They just may not be the most important ones. As training camp opens, the Jets' ceiling on offense could depend less on which version of Smith takes the field and more on how offensive coordinator Frank Reich builds the offensive attack around him.
Quarterbacks often receive the credit when an offense succeeds and the blame when it doesn't. While that's part of playing the position, football has repeatedly shown that coaching, scheme and supporting talent can dramatically influence a quarterback's production.
So, here's where Reich enters the picture. The veteran coach inherits an offense featuring an experienced quarterback, a dynamic running back in Breece Hall, an emerging No. 1 receiver in Garrett Wilson and a pair of intriguing young tight ends in Kenyon Sadiq and Mason Taylor. The offensive line also appears more stable than it has in recent years, giving Reich more flexibility than many first-year coordinators enjoy.
The challenge isn't **** embling talent. It's finding the best way to maximize it.

The New York Jets are coming off of a brutal campaign in 2025, with the team posting a 3-14 record, their worst mark since the NFL added a 17th game ahead of the 2021 season.
The pressure is on for this Jets regime -- led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey -- who very well could be on the hot seat if another disastrous season is the result in 2026.
There's no denying the Jets added an influx of talent during the 2026 NFL Draft, with four selections in the top-50 picks, led by edge rusher David Bailey at No. 2 overall, and followed by tight end Kenyon Sadiq at No. 16, wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. at No. 30 and cornerback D'Angelo Ponds with the 50th pick.
The Jets open the regular season on the road against their former head coach Robert Saleh and the Tennessee ******* ans on Sept. 13.

The New York Jets will officially begin training camp when the veterans report on July 28. The rookie class reports to Florham Park a few days earlier on July 25. Head coach Aaron Glenn is expected to oversee a competitive camp as the Jets attempt to begin rebuilding in the right direction.
With so much on the line, we've identified three Jets players with everything to lose at training camp.
The Jets used a fourth-round pick on wide receiver Arian Smith last offseason. The former Georgia standout produced just seven receptions for 52 yards and zero touchdowns as a rookie. He's been further **** ped down the depth chart by rookie first-round pick Omar Cooper Jr. Smith is on thin ice heading into training camp.
Veteran tight end Jelani Woods was an offseason winner at OTAs and minicamp. The position room is very crowded, however, with the Jets having loads invested in Kenyon Sadiq and Mason Taylor. Fellow veteran Jeremy Ruckert is also a factor. Woods is fighting for a roster spot.
The Jets gave first-round bust Mazi Smith a lifeline by trading for him last November, but he hardly seized the opportunity. Now, they've acquired T'Vondre Smith and David Onyemata this offseason, leading to a busy defensive tackle room. Smith is currently a long-shot to make the 53-man roster.

The New York Jets have not fielded a truly effective passing offense in several seasons. This past campaign, the Jets fielded the worst passing attack in the NFL, averaging a 32nd-ranked 140.3 yards per contest.
Unsurprisingly, both quarterback Justin Fields and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand were replaced this offseason.
It was a serious downgrade from their 2024 output under QB Aaron Rodgers when they averaged a 16th-best 218.5 yards per game. The Jets invested significant resources this offseason to hopefully improve their aerial attack in 2026.
New offensive coordinator Frank Reich arrives to oversee the offense and Geno Smith is a gunslinging quarterback. Playmakers Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall were signed to extensions. The Jets drafted two pass catchers in the first round, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.
Wilson will be the focal point of the Jets' passing attack, but Smith has several weapons at his disposal. Adonai Mitchell is also expected to take a big step forward. Including sophomore tight end Mason Taylor, Smith has at least five pass-catching weapons that should be difference makers.

This past weekend was my annual dynasty fantasy football draft. After talking up Kenyon Sadiq at last years draft and Sadiq delivering on those expectations in 2025 to become the No. 1 TE drafted in the 2026 NFL draft I think my league mates may have been rolling their eyes at me when I suggested that Oregon once again may have the No. 1 TE prospect in college football in 2026 as well.
Despite the excellent film Johnson put on tape in 2025 leading to 1 year out NFL draft hype, I feel in College Circles Jamari is shockingly still a bit of well kept secret outside of Oregon. “Technically” Johnson was a backup last year on paper, if you’re paper requires you to fill out a lineup in 11 personnel, and it can be pretty hard to believe that one college football team is on track to produce TE1 in back to back seasons. But that’s what Jamari is on track to do.

Since 2007 Oregon has produced 10 NFL players at TE. 3 were drafted in the top 3 rounds of the NFL draft and 7 others signed UDFA’s but stuck in the league for at least 1 full season.
I decided to compare Jamari’s 2025 raw statistical season to 9 of those 10 players 2nd to last collegiate seasons as 2025 projects to be Jamari’s 2nd to last season. A couple of notes

The Jets drafted tight end Mason Taylor in the second round in 2025, so some might wonder how well he took the news that they used a first-round pick on a player at the same position this year.
Kenyon Sadiq's arrival was not met with a negative response from Taylor, however. The presence of offensive coordinator Frank Reich has something to do with that.
Taylor said this month that he sees "endless opportunities" to make plays in Reich's offense because the coach "likes to use" tight ends and those opportunities will be enhanced because wide receiver Garrett Wilson is also going to be on the field.
"Everyone's going to have their role and I just think it's going to be really exciting because we’re going to be unstoppable actually because there's so many options and if you want to shut down the tight ends, then there's Garrett and the receivers," Taylor said, via the team's website.
Unstoppable is rarely a term ***** ociated with Jets offenses and quarterback Geno Smith's recent play will make it hard for some to share Taylor's optimism, but the addition of Sadiq and first-round wideout Omar Cooper to Taylor, Wilson and running back Breece Hall gives the Jets a more complete set of weapons than they had to work with last season.

The New York Jets were terrible on offense throughout the 2025 season. That led to sweeping personnel changes this offseason. The Jets parted ways with quarterbacks Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor, and even fired offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand after one season.
The Jets hired Frank Reich to be Aaron Glenn's new offensive play-caller. Geno Smith was acquired to play quarterback. The supporting cast got extensions for Breece Hall and Joe Tippmann, and first-round picks Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq also joined the offense.
Bleacher Report recently ****** sed the best and worst-case scenarios for every offense in the league. The dream scenario includes rookies like Cooper and Sadiq firmly establishing themselves as building blocks. The nightmare would see the quarterbacks struggling for a second straight season.
"With all due respect to Geno Smith and rookie fourth-round pick Cade Klubnik, the New York Jets' quarterback of the future probably won't be drafted until 2027," Moe Moton wrote. "Next year's class is expected to be deep at the position, and New York already owns three first-round selections. In a best-case scenario, the Jets get enough from the quarterback position to identify potential long-term support pieces for their next young quarterback."
Moton is correct that Smith is a temporary solution for the Jets at quarterback. With three 2027 first-round picks at his disposal, Darren Mougey may already be eyeing prospects like Arch Manning and Dante Moore. Moton goes on to claim the Jets' quarterbacks could derail the entire 2026 season.

The last few seasons, the Oregon Ducks have been a tight end factory for the NFL. In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Ducks had a tight end taken in the second round by the Los Angeles Rams, Terrance Ferguson. In the 2026 draft, the Ducks had the best tight end prospect selected with the 16th pick, Kenyon Sadiq. This next draft should be no different. In a recent article, Brad Crawford views the Ducks' starting tight end this season, Jamari Johnson, as a top weapon in the country. Here is what he had to say about Johnson:
"For Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson, the physical tools have always been obvious, but opportunity is finally catching up. At 6-foot-6 with soft hands and natural body control, he gives the Ducks a mismatch option who can stress linebackers and safeties alike. Johnson's expanded role in the passing game following Kenyon Sadiq's NFL entry could turn him into a reliable red-zone and seam threat."
Ducks will still have that athletic tight end who will give any defender problems in coverage, in Jemari Johnson. Johnson last season tallied 510 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Jemari Johnson will be fully unlocked in the Ducks' offense this season, and his numbers could even top what Sadiq posted last season.

It’s rare for a 4th round quarterback to become a longtime starter in the NFL. There have been exceptions (Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins comes to mind) but each has been shadowed by a who’s who of “who’s that” (hello Kyle Lauletta). However, when former a Clemson star Cade Klubnik was selected isn’t the most despairing aspect of his projection, it’s where he was selected.
The New York Jets are where Quarterbacks go to rot. Their last iconic signal caller came by the likes of Joe Namath, who was drafted as recently as the signing of the Civil Rights Act (1964). Their second greatest is arguably Ken O’Brien, who led them to exactly one playoff win in nine years. The greatest of this century is likely Chad Pennington, who was able to win two playoff games in his eight seasons.
However, if there is any benefit to Cade landing in New York, it’s the lack of competition on that football team. Sitting behind a 35 year old Geno Smith, Klubnik is highly likely to see the field early on in his career. Additionally, the Jets have a multitude of interesting pieces on their roster. Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson are proven stars simply looking for a competent signal caller to distribute them the ball. AD Michell is an exciting young prospect with shades of George Pickens (complimentary and derogatory). Rookie Omar Cooper just won a National Championship with Indiana, and Kenyon Sadiq is a tight end with Julio Jones’ height and 40 time and Anthony Edwards’ vertical leap.
The Jets also project a strong offensive line, with no clear holes at any of the five positions. They do set up a young quarterback to succeed, just haven’t been able to find that passer.
In a perfect world, Cade plays a Point Guard-esque role for a team full of talented skill players. Think Memphis Grizzlies Tyus Jones or Phoenix Suns Ricky Rubio; a player that isn’t necessarily taking over games and creating big plays out of nothing, but can distribute in a way that gives his teammates the opportunity to do what they do best while limiting turnovers.

I found myself standing in line for a hotdog at Classic Park. But I wasn’t there for a Lake County Captains game. No, I was there for the NCAA DIII Baseball Championship. Denison was playing Endicott in the second game of a three-game series, with Denison having won the first, 6-0. Today we had the second game, with a double-header being played if necessary. I couldn’t miss all that action taking place at Classic Park.
My final college decision actually came down to Kenyon College and Denison. I visited both on the same day and went to Denison first. I walked all around the beautiful campus and talked to the head track coach about pole vaulting there. And when I left, I thought I was going to run track for Denison. But in the end, Kenyon gave me more scholarship money so I went there instead. It was one of the worst decisions of my life, but an important life-lesson not to let money control me. And there’s still a part of me that wonders what would have been if I’d gone to Denison instead.
As I waited in line, there was a bit of a commotion from behind me as someone hurriedly pushed their way toward the counter through the current of moving bodies. A vibrant, coffee-fueled voice shot out, “Make it 2 hotdogs and a coffee — black!”
I spun around, and there was Gus in all his glory. The red flannel, the crooked ‘C’ cap, and that gray handlebar mustache.

COLUMBUS — To say that the 2026 OHSAA Track and Field State Championship Meet was a fruitful one for Scioto County would be an understatement.
That was evidenced on the final two days of competition for Scioto County's best and brightest in the sport.
In all, a total of seven individuals earned All-Ohio honors over the final two days of competition, with South Webster's Braden Mantell, West's Keagan Salem and Wheelersburg's Ella Hochstetler, Kenyon Evans, Ison Emnett, Cashton Adkins and Hunter Lawson all earning All-Ohio accolades to cap off the 2026 OHSAA Track and Field season.
Day 2 — Ella Hochstetler
Beginning Friday afternoon in the shot put, Wheelersburg's Ella Hochstetler earned her second All-Ohio honor of the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Track and Field season, throwing 42 feet and a half-inch to claim third place in the event — just 16 hours after winning the 2026 OHSAA Division IV State Championship in girls shot put.

The New Jets, on paper, have gotten a lot better on offense throughout this offseason. The rookie additions of tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. as well as the addition of quarterback Geno Smith, and the retention of running back Breece Hall were all very important to the success of this group in 2026. Combine this with a returning Garrett Wilson and things are really looking up for Gang Green. However, there’s one more piece to this puzzle who gained valuable experience as a starter in 2025 with the Jets and is looking to level up. That player is Adonai Mitchell, and his rise may already be beginning.
The WR hierarchy is pretty much unknown after Garrett Wilson. The battle for WR2 will be between the aforementioned Adonai Mitchell and new face Omar Cooper Jr. Both are talented, showing WR1 upside in college with different skillsets. Mitchell is a great athlete with field-stretching ability and a large frame. Meanwhile, Cooper wins more with technique and is lethal after the catch. Both have valuable qualities.
Focusing more on Mitchell’s summer thus far, it seems he’s building up his game very well. He’s shown great timing and improvement in his route running according to those in attendance. His work in the offseason has also seemingly blossomed into great chemistry with his new QB as well. He also seems to have developed a respect for his new signal caller already, calling him a “baller” and the “alpha of the room” during a press conference.
This is great news, as it shows Adonai Mitchell’s commitment to the team and himself getting better. This comes despite pre-draft criticisms of his preparation, attitude, and perhaps even immaturity. It’s safe to say that those rumors can end now.
Mitchell’s role within the Jets offense is as a serious threat while Garrett Wilson and presumably Omar Cooper Jr. handle the intermediate and short areas of the field.
