The man behind a "lot of ridiculous stuff" has told the BBC he is trying to build a floating pub.
Will Bower, from Angmering in West Sussex, said he wants to create the buoyant boozer for his father's 60th birthday.
"[My dad] loves being on the water. He loves beer. I thought what better idea than to make a floating pub?" Bower said.
Bower plans to float the pub on the River Adur once he has finished building it.
He has purchased materials and building is currently under way.

Middle East turmoil, centered on the U.S. war with Iran, is playing havoc with world energy markets. An ongoing dispute over access to the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of world oil and natural gas supply is shipped, is causing prices to surge. This is a boon for South America's oil industry, particularly Suriname's emerging petroleum boom, which was delayed by conflicting drilling results and seismic data. The former Dutch colony is on the cusp of becoming South America's next major oil-producing nation.
Since 2019, Suriname's government in the capital Paramaribo has hungrily eyed Guyana's booming petroleum sector, which delivered a massive economic windfall for the former British colony. Five major oil discoveries in offshore Block 58, which started in 2020 with the Maka Central-1 exploration well, confirmed the presence of commercially exploitable hydrocarbons in Suriname's portion of the offshore Guyana-Suriname Basin.
After a series of delays, beginning in 2022, due to mismatched drilling results and seismic data along with a high gas-to-oil ratio, TotalEnergies, the operator of Block 58, approved a final investment decision (FID). TotalEnergies, which holds a 50% working interest in offshore Block 58, and 50% partner APA Corporation approved the development of the deepwater GranMorgu project. This changed the project's ownership structure. Forty percent was retained by the operator TotalEnergies with another 40% retained by APA, and the remainder granted to Staatsolie.
The state-controlled energy company's acquisition was in accordance with Staatsolie's rights set out in the production-sharing contract (PSC) for Block 52. The company used a $1.6 billion loan from a banking consortium and a March 2025 bond issue to finance the acquisition. Staatsolie's share of GranMorgu will multiply the earnings delivered to Paramaribo, which has been battling an economic crisis since 2021. Indeed, the situation was so severe that rioting engulfed parts of the capital and parliament was stormed by protestors in 2023.
GranMorgu, which will come online in 2028, is a game changer for an economically challenged Suriname. The project's floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) vessel, on completion, will have capacity of 220,000 barrels per day.

Astros have one question left amid Jeremy Pena trade rumors, per EPSN originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Houston Astros are expected to buy at the 2026 MLB trade deadline after their strong performances recently have them atop the AL West.
But, despite likely buying this summer, there are still plenty of rumors floating around about Jeremy Pena and his trade availability. There's been enough buzz about a Pena trade that it can't completely be ruled out until the deadline passes.
ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel revealed the odds that Pena is traded are at 25%, but more importantly, revealed the one last question left for Houston about a potential trade of Pena.
"Replenishing a bad farm system with few players close to the big leagues takes a move like trading Pena, and the only question at this point is whether it will be before Aug. 3 or before the Dec. 1 lockout," Passan and McDaniel write.

For those teams that don't land Tarik Skubal at the 2026 MLB trade deadline, there's another front-line starting pitcher available: Freddy Peralta, whom the New York Mets landed last offseason, only to see him struggle with a 4.99 ERA this year.
And with the Mets having struggles of their own to go along with Peralta's impending free agency, it's a perfect storm for a trade. Add in the fact that Peralta was scratched from his planned start on Friday night so the Mets can preserve his health and you've got increased trade rumors floating around.
With that in mind, here are some possible landing spots for the veteran starter:
Let's presume that the Cubs don't have the stuff to get Skubal. They could grab Peralta instead for a lower price and add to their rotation, which they desperately need.
Same with them. There are some reports that they could be the Skubal front-runners, but let's say another team swoops in? They could turn to Peralta.

One of the dark clouds that has hovered over the Mark Pope era in Lexington is injuries. Year one, year two, and now heading into year three, we hear that word floating and continue to hope for the best with these athletes and the injuries tied to them.
One of the players that has unfortunately seen some time sidelined due to injury is Kam Williams. Last year, against the Texas Longhorns, Williams suffered a foot injury on a routine play. Since then, he has worked his tail off, recovering from immediate surgery to return within such a short window, and ultimately made that happen by returning to be with the 2025-26 squad as they went into the postseason.
We recently learned from Mark Pope that Williams underwent a second surgery, which delayed things a little bit for the rising junior, heading into his second season in Lexington.
Then on Thursday, Williams met with local media and opened up about his recent surgery.
"It was really a clean-up thing," said Williams. "Obviously, I was preparing to come back for the summer, like in May or whatever, and started working out more and more. Then went up for another imaging process or whatever, and we just didn't like how it looked in a way. So we just decided that it was the best opportunity we needed to take advantage of, which was getting it cleaned up."

Michael Olise's meteoric rise has transformed him from one of Europe's most exciting young wingers into a player that virtually every elite club would love to have. After a spectacular season with Bayern Munich, the French international has become a regular feature in Ballon d'Or discussions and is widely regarded as one of the most entertaining players in world football. Despite inevitable transfer speculation, former Chelsea ****** istant manager Jody Morris believes Olise has found the perfect environment in Munich and sees little reason for the winger to leave anytime soon.
"When you get to that level, there's no rush to come back for Michael Olise unless he wants to return home. He is suited to the continental style of play. He has already produced in the Premier League and can have his pick of where to go. I imagine Bayern will give him a huge new deal to stave off interest," Morris told BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest football odds. "I think everyone in world football would want to sign him. He is the type of player who gets you on the edge of your seat. I haven't seen a player open up defenses like that in a long time. Lionel Messi is the only one similar in that regard. He will be disappointed to have missed chances in the tournament. He is my favorite footballer to watch at the moment."
Those are lofty comparisons, but they reflect just how highly Olise is regarded after his breakout campaign. His blend of creativity, vision, close control, and end product makes him one of the rare players capable of deciding matches with a single moment of brilliance. Under Vincent Kompany, Olise has flourished into the centerpiece of Bayern Munich's attack while continuing to improve every aspect of his game.
Morris also poured cold water on any suggestion that Chelsea could realistically lure Olise back to England.
"Chelsea would need to make unbelievable strides to even be in the conversation for a player like Michael Olise. We tried to get him from Palace before, and not getting him is what led us to signing Cole Palmer. Michael Olise plays in any World XI for me right now. The signing of Eden Hazard at the time was huge, and he went on to be a great," Morris said. "For me, Hazard is the greatest individual player to ever play for Chelsea in terms of talent, though he's third on the overall list behind John Terry and Frank Lampard. Olise is the closest we would get to someone who can entertain the Stamford Bridge crowd while also producing numbers. He has a great balance of being great to watch with flair, but he doesn't shirk his production in the final third. He still manages goals and ****** ists while floating around the pitch. He is a phenomenal player."

Manchester City launched their new away kit on a floating pitch at the picturesque setting of the harbour in Hong Kong.
Phil Foden, Abdukodir Khusanov and Ryan McAidoo were on stage in front of scores of fans before revealing the black and yellow Puma kit, which is finished with a swarm of worker bees - a nod to one of Manchester's most recognisable symbols.
City say the bee signifies the "graft, unity and resilience that define the city" with the kit "reinforcing a shared commitment to the city, its people and the authentic connection between the club and the communities that surround it".
Puma vice president Dominique Gauthier said: "This kit is about giving Manchester City players a shirt that performs at the highest level while carrying real meaning for the city and its fans.
"We wanted every detail to reflect the identity of this club and the culture around it. It's a shirt built for the pitch but made to be worn with pride well beyond it."

Why the Padres should (and shouldn't) trade star closer Mason Miller at the 2026 MLB trade deadline originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
When it's MLB trade deadline season, the San Diego Padres are typically big players one way or another. That likely won't change in 2026 — but A.J. Preller has much different decisions to make than usual.
While Preller's Padres have become known for their all-in mentality on the trade market, acquiring stars and big bats late in the summer with goals to make a playoff push, San Diego has been floating in no-man's land this season. The last two years, the Padres were clear deadline buyers, on their way to consecutive playoff trips. Now, sitting at a clean .500 as of Monday (53-53), things are far less clear.
On one hand, San Diego could buy, or stand pat, in hopes of making a playoff push. Or, if Preller isn't convinced on the Padres' chances, they may have the best trade chip on the market: closer Mason Miller, who has had a historic reliever season and will likely wind up with down-the-ballot NL Cy Young Award votes.
Should the Padres deal Miller while his value is sky-high? Or should they hold onto Miller, hoping their rotation and bats can pick up enough slack to make the postseason? Here's the case for both arguments on the two-time All-Star closer.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's 'Double Nickel' plan would freeze property taxes at 55, saving roughly 3.3 million homeowners $950 a year.
No-income-tax states like Florida and Tennessee are most likely to adopt similar policies, while high-tax states like New Jersey may pursue means-tested versions.
Homeowners near 55 should check existing county exemptions they may already qualify for and file appraisal protests before any new legislation passes.
Two retirees, same $1 million, same 4% rule, buy one finished with $1.4 million, the other hit $0 in 12 years. Our free reader guide explains the flaw that separated them, and the income-first method built to avoid it.
Texas is floating a proposal that could reshape how millions of homeowners think about turning 55. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick's "Double Nickel" plan would drop the qualifying age for a homestead property-tax freeze from 65 to 55, giving eligible homeowners an extra decade of protection from rising tax bills. The idea is being studied ahead of the 2027 legislative session in a state where property taxes supply 40.7% of state and local tax revenue and the effective rate on owner-occupied homes is 1.40%. That raises a fair question for homeowners elsewhere: Could this spread?

Peter Schrager's 2 p.m. show seems to be sports media's worst-kept secret at this point.
OutKick's Bobby Burack reported that ESPN is expected to announce a new 2 p.m. show hosted by Schrager in the coming week(s). The show itself has been the expected outcome of ESPN's afternoon lineup shuffle since at least May, when The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported that a program built around Schrager was the leading candidate to replace the 2 p.m. edition of SportsCenter.
Schrager's name has been tied to ESPN's afternoon shakeup since almost the moment Around the Horn was canceled. When CNBC's Alex Sherman first reported that ESPN was considering replacing the 2 p.m. SportsCenter, he described the concept as an "all-sports" show rather than another NFL-only hour, and Marchand reported last spring that Schrager doing a show at 2 or 5 p.m. was "pretty likely," floating the idea that he could be "a central figure in some sort of ensemble" rather than a solo act.
Schrager joined ESPN from NFL Network and Fox Sports last April after nearly a decade as one of the faces of Good Morning Football, and quickly became a fixture across Get Up, First Take, NFL Live, and The Pat McAfee Show. He stole the show at McAfee's NFL Draft Spectacular that spring, launched The Schrager Hour podcast with Omaha Productions in the fall, and stepped in as a guest host for Mike Greenberg on Get Up, a run that gave ESPN executives confidence he could anchor an hour of his own, per Marchand's reporting. He's also been candid about missing the three-hour daily runway he had at Good Morning Football, where he could spend eight minutes on whatever topic interested him that day. A solo show would hand him something close to that format again.
The 5 p.m. hour, by contrast, looks like it's staying put. That slot has also been filled by SportsCenter since Around the Horn's cancellation, and while Scott Van Pelt was floated for months as a candidate to take it over, he confirmed on his own podcast in April that he's staying in his late-night role rather than moving. ESPN executive Burke Magnus had pushed hard for a reunion between Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo to anchor the new hour, telling Andrew Marchand it was "a bit of a selfish concept by me" given how big a fan he'd been of their old radio pairing, but Russillo's own schedule — and later move to Barstool — made the setup unlikely. Without a concept he could actually build around, Van Pelt opted to stay with the format that's already earned his SportsCenter 10 Emmy nominations and regularly lands him timely interviews with players and coaches in the immediate aftermath of major games, interviews that simply wouldn't be available to a show airing at 5 p.m. instead of after primetime.

Commodity traders are having the rug pulled out from under one of their biggest paydays yet as refiners start bypassing oil and traders and buying Venezuelan crude directly, according to Reuters. Refiners and major oil-producing firms are rapidly gaining market share in Venezuelan crude by locking in direct supply contracts with state-run Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), bypassing the global middlemen and commodity trading houses such as Trafigura and Vitol that previously dominated the ***** e.
Six months after traders reopened Venezuela's oil market, Phillips 66 (NYSE:PSX) and India's Reliance Industries have already signed direct supply agreements, with Valero (NYSE:VLO) and Thailand's Tipco expected to follow.
Previously, Vitol and Trafigura enjoyed first-mover advantage, managing to become dominant in Venezuelan crude marketing because of their exclusive U.S. government licenses, pre-existing logistical infrastructure and historical ties to PDVSA. Following major political shifts in Venezuela in January, the U.S. administration brokered a deal to manage and sell the country's oil. The U.S. Department of the Treasury issued special, long-term licenses specifically to Vitol and Trafigura until June 2027, effectively giving the traders a temporary monopoly. The pair collectively moved more than 100 million barrels of crude over a six-month period while other global firms remained legally locked out.
Their unmatched logistics also gave them a clear upper hand. After all, global trading houses have the fleet capacity and global reach to quickly deploy tankers and reroute large volumes of crude. They could absorb massive storage and shipping costs in a difficult market, using floating storage facilities in places like Malaysia to break up bulk shipments. When the ongoing war in Iran disrupted Middle Eastern supply chains, Vitol and Trafigura quickly diverted heavy Venezuelan grades like Merey 16 to major Asian refining hubs in India, South Korea, and Malaysia at narrower discounts.

Good evening Panthers fans! We're into training camp and a lot of information is floating around the internet. I'm here to try and highlight some pieces I think fans want to know about and just help you keep up with all the happenings in general! This is not an all encompassing piece, so if there's something that happened that you find interesting/exciting, feel free to share below!
One day into training camp, and the Panthers have lost their first casualty for the season, and it was their promising young 2025 2nd round pick, EDGE Nic Scourton. Scourton appeared primed to have a big role on this front seven opposite Jaelen Phillips, but we're going to have to wait til 2027 as Scourton went down with what appeared to be a severe knee injury early in the day. Speculation was it was very serious due to how he and the players around him reacted, and sure enough, its a torn ACL. Horrible news for the Panthers, sending best wishes to Nic on a speedy and healthy recovery.
Running back Jonathon Brooks practiced in training camp for the first time in his career (shout-out to Mike Kaye for that factoid). While I know many fans have been skeptical of his health, he appears primed to have a significant role in the offense if this direction continues.
The Panthers have officially announced rookie first round pick Monroe Freeling will be starting at right tackle to start the year given the medical issue keeping Taylor Moton out. Initially, Freeling was set to enter a competition with Rasheed Walker at left tackle, but the team quickly created a new plan for Moton's absence.
Dave Canales said OL Brady Christensen "looked good" in his first training camp action back with the team. Christensen is coming off a torn Achilles last season, but he may be needed sooner than later if the Panthers injury luck continues.

Juventus have picked up the telephone once again. According to reports coming out of Sport Mediaset, relayed by Transfer Feed, the Italian giants made fresh contact with Aston Villa regarding Emiliano Martinez shortly after the World Cup wrapped up. Turin has admired the 33-year-old Argentine stopper for a ***** long time now. This latest whisper suggests they haven't entirely given up the ghost just yet. Don't hold your breath though.
The very same report makes it abundantly clear that a move to Serie A is looking dead in the water. Why? Money, mostly. The financial demands floating out of Martinez's camp are described as astronomical. Combine that with Villa having zero reason to move him on, and you have a total non-starter. Unai Emery views the World Cup winner as an absolute cornerstone of his project at B6.
Looking back at the 2025/26 campaign, it is easy to see why. Martinez clocked up 32 Premier League appearances, bagging eight clean sheets and recording a 71.1% save percentage. He let in 37 goals across the domestic run while pulling off 96 saves, earning a solid 7.07 average match rating. Add a shiny Europa League winner's medal to the mantlepiece from that season too. He is pivotal. Plain and simple.
Villa Park bosses are sitting pretty. Martinez inked a fresh deal that keeps him tied to the West Midlands until June 2029. That puts every single card squarely in Villa's hands. They don't need the cash. They certainly don't want to lose their main man between the sticks. Crucially, the player himself hasn't thrown his toys out of the pram or demanded an exit. The real stumbling block here is his entourage.
Agent demands are currently knocking on doors that Juventus simply cannot open. The Old Lady has her own financial belt to tighten these days. Throwing silly money at inflated wage demands for a goalkeeper in his mid-thirties, no matter how decorated his trophy cabinet happens to be, is a gamble the Italian club just cannot afford right now.

The MLB trade deadline is the time when a team can bolster its roster for a potential World Series run and also upgrade its future. While we never know what might happen by the August 4 deadline, we do know that there are quite a few names floating around who could be impact makers for a team hoping to be the last club standing in October.
On this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman preview the upcoming trade deadline, including whether the Detroit Tigers will actually trade ace Tarik Skubal and whether the San Diego Padres, despite still being in the Wild Card race, will ship out their flamethrowing closer, Mason Miller. They also examine whether a hitter better than the San Francisco Giants' Luis Arráez will be moved and how many postseason-caliber starting pitchers will be acquired.
Later in the show, Jake and Jordan make their picks for which teams will be the most aggressive this trade season, either by buying or selling, and which teams will have to make the difficult decision to stand pat with the roster they have. They also explain why the New York Mets' David Stearns might be the most critical figure at this deadline and discuss the one big piece the Washington Nationals must decide whether to keep or trade away.

CLOZ charges 0.50% to pick BBB-B CLO tranches, delivering 7% yield and 10% annualized returns versus JAAA's 5% at just 0.20%.
Active management fees earn their keep in BBB-B CLO tranches where manager and vintage selection drive returns, but add little value in AAA paper.
Don't wait: the ******* yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just revealed his top 10 AI stocks. See the full list FREE now.
Collateralized loan obligation ETFs have become one of the fastest-growing corners of fixed income by offering floating-rate coupons, historically low default rates, and yields that outpace investment-grade corporates. The trade-off is that CLO tranches are not standardized bonds, and the manager picking them matters. That is why the Eldridge BBB-B CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:CLOZ) charges 0.50% while the Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:JAAA) charges 0.20%, and the question is whether the extra fee buys something you cannot get elsewhere at a lower cost.
The four other funds worth measuring against CLOZ are JAAA, the Janus Henderson B-BBB CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:JBBB), the iShares AAA CLO Active ETF (NYSEARCA:CLOA), and the Eldridge AAA CLO ETF (NYSEARCA:CLOX). Each sits at a different point on the rating ladder and answers the active-versus-passive question differently.

CLOZ holds mezzanine CLO tranches that reset coupons with short-term rates, delivering a 7% yield and 11% annualized returns since 2023.
Unlike AAA alternatives like JAAA, CLOZ pays meaningfully higher yield but moves with stocks in a credit event, not against them.
Rate cuts have already trimmed CLOZ monthly distributions from $0.22 to $0.17 per share, and every future Fed cut reduces the coupon further.

Chinese refiners largely stopped competing for Middle Eastern crude during the Iran conflict, leaving more Gulf cargoes available to Europe, India, and the rest of Asia just as traders prepared for a supply shock.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates China drew 41 million barrels from crude inventories during June, one of the largest monthly stock draws on record. Refiners met domestic demand from storage instead of replacing those barrels through imports, allowing Beijing to ride out the sharp jump in Middle Eastern crude prices caused by the conflict.
That inventory was accumulated well before the conflict. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates China spent much of 2025 buying roughly 900,000 barrels per day for strategic and commercial storage whenever prices softened.
Independent "teapot" refiners cut operating rates as weak refining margins, slowing fuel demand and higher crude prices squeezed profitability. Reuters reported that several refiners shifted purchases toward discounted Gulf grades and delayed Iranian cargoes, leaving millions of barrels floating offshore without immediate buyers.
Kpler estimated in late May that Chinese seaborne crude imports had fallen to 6.78 million barrels per day, the lowest level in nearly a decade, down from 8.5 million bpd in April and well below the 2025 average of 10.66 million bpd. Refinery intake, however, declined far less sharply, indicating that refiners were meeting the difference by drawing inventories.

SOUTHPORT, England – R&A CEO Mark Darbon had his turn to give his state of the union on Wednesday. As the leader of the governing body for golf everywhere but the U.S. and Mexico, Darbon is one if the most influential people in the game and he got right to the few news items worth sharing and then opened things up to the floor for questions (though there were still questions to be asked when the press conference was halted no more than 30 minutes in total).
Here are five things we learned in advance of the Open Championship:
There are rumors floating around that if England defeats Argentina on Wednesday night to advance to the World Cup final against Argentina, tee times for the final round may be moved to avoid a mass exodus to watch "The Beautiful Game."
The R&A expects the final putt on Sunday to drop at 6:40 p.m. local time, which should leave time for a three-hole playoff to be completed in time for the World Cup final. That said, Darbon admitted that if England do get through tonight, they'll have more discussions.
"I'm an England football fan, so it would be a great problem to have. But I guess also, because I'm an England football fan, we should also wait to see how the semifinal goes before we get too far ahead," he said. "Of course in the background, we've been doing a lot of thinking about this…At this stage, no plans to alter anything, but we'll maintain that under review and finalize our position after the semifinal."

UTM Offshore has signed a gas sales agreement (GSA) with Seplat Energy and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), marking a key development in plans for Nigeria's first indigenous-led floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project.
The agreement relates to gas from the deepwater Yoho field offshore Nigeria and moves UTM Offshore's project closer to a final investment decision (FID), according to a press release on African Energy Chamber (AEC).
The FLNG facility is designed to process 176 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) once operational. Engineering and pre-construction work on the project is already complete.
With the GSA now established, UTM Offshore is progressing towards a sale and purchase agreement and working to achieve an FID. The targeted start date for shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Yoho FLNG project is 2030, according to current plans.
Financing arrangements are in place for the development, including debt capital from Afreximbank and equity commitments from NNPC and the Delta State Government.

This week, news came out that St. John’s incoming transfer Donnie Freeman will miss the entire 2026-27 season with an Achilles tear.
It is absolutely gut-wrenching for a young man who has already spent so much time on the trainer’s table. Seeing a player’s season end in July just sucks, man.
Freeman played in just 37 games over two seasons at Syracuse, battling foot/toe issues, before becoming one of the most prized recruits in the portal this spring. Heading down the stretch of his recruitment in April, the recruiting battle came down to Kentucky and St. John’s, and a rising price. Mark Pope, fresh off dealing with an oft-injured, big-time transfer of his own, decided to bow out.
It was a risk for Pope at the time. There were fewer frontcourt options available in the portal, and Freeman clearly fit a need for the Wildcats. But the price tag kept going up, the durability concerns lingered, and Rick Pitino ultimately won out.
Since the injury news broke, I’ve seen the argument floating around that Freeman’s Achilles tear justifies Pope’s decision to pass on him. Folks are treating it like Kentucky dodged a bullet.

The Manchester City academy product joined the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2024 following a brief yet positive Turkish experience at Hatayspor. While neither Marco Baroni nor Maurizio Sarri has been able to unlock the Nigerian’s best version, he has managed to show occasional flashes of brilliance over the past two years. He has delivered seven goals and four ****** ists in his 57 Lazio appearances.
At this stage, the Italian capital side could be open to cashing in on the 25-year-old, whose contract will expire in the summer of 2028.
According to Lazio insider Damiano Er Faina, Venezia are keeping tabs on Dele-Bashiru. The Venetians returned to the Italian top flight after winning the Serie B ****** le, and they’re working on bolstering their ranks to avoid another immediate drop.
The Arancioneroverdi have already signed a midfielder from Lazio this summer in the shape of Toma Basic. While the Croatian moved to the Floating City on a free transfer after closing the door on Claudio Lotito’s last-gasp attempt to offer him a renewal, Venezia would have to negotiate a deal with the Lazio patron for Dele-Bashiru.

South Korean football is dead - those words on the sign floating above the angry crowd said it all.
Fans had gathered outside Seoul's Incheon airport to confront the national team as they returned home after being knocked out of the World Cup in the group stage.
Their ire was directed at one man in particular: coach Hong Myung-bo, a former captain and footballing hero now faulted for his team's unimpressive run on the biggest sporting stage.
And they couldn't have made that clearer. Supporters beat drums and shouted, "Hong out!", some even following him all the way to his car, even as others cheered for the players walking behind Hong. One football fan told the BBC that ahead of the World Cup, people talked less about the team and "kept saying Hong should step down".
His appointment was met with opposition right from the start, embroiling the Korea Football **** ociation (KFA) in a drawn-out controversy. Critics have long accused it of lacking transparency and fairness, saying coaches and key figures were often picked because of personal connections rather than a merit-based process - an allegation the KFA has denied.

It’s been over a decade since Johnny Manziel played football for the Cleveland Browns. But there is still no love lost between Manziel and folks in Cleveland, like radio host Tony Rizzo.
Manziel was famously drafted in the first round by the Browns as their next hopeful franchise savior after winning the Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M. But like many Cleveland quarterbacks before and since, his tenure with the franchise was a disaster. He started just eight games across two seasons before being waived by the Browns after a combination of off-field troubles and on-field struggles. Incredibly, he never took another NFL snap, floating around the CFL for a few years before playing in something called Fan Controlled Football.
But even though it’s been so many years, neither side will soon forget what happened between Johnny Manziel and the city of Cleveland. In an interview with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson on their Nightcap show, Manziel said he hopes the Browns go 0-16 every year because of his hard feelings towards the franchise. That drew an exasperated response from ESPN Cleveland host Tony Rizzo.
Although the interview took place last September, Rizzo responded to a clip that recently went viral. And all he did was ask Manziel why he hates the Browns so much after they gave him his opportunity in the NFL.
“What did anyone do for you except root for you to win, and when it went south, ok, that’s how it goes. Ask Baker. But what, did someone hurt him? Is he a jilted lover? Was there an incident where somebody attacked him? Why the hate? Why the hate for the team that drafted you? Why,” Rizzo asked.

Italian energy major Eni has signed an agreement to acquire a 32% stake in three unconventional gas blocks in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale formation, strengthening its position in the country's flagship LNG export ambitions.
The sale and purchase agreement covers the Meseta Buena Esperanza, Aguada Villanueva, and Las Tacanas blocks. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals. Once completed, ownership of the ****** ets will be split between YPF (36%), Eni (32%), and XRG (32%).
The upstream ****** ets will supply gas to the Argentina LNG project, an integrated upstream and midstream development designed to monetize Vaca Muerta's vast shale gas resources. The project is expected to support 12 million metric tons per year (mtpa) of LNG export capacity through two floating LNG (FLNG) units, each capable of producing 6 mtpa.
Eni said the investment aligns with its strategy of building integrated gas value chains that combine upstream production with LNG exports and marketing. The company has increasingly focused on FLNG developments globally as demand for flexible LNG supply continues to grow.
"Our entry into Vaca Muerta... strengthens Eni's ability to develop world-scale gas resources and convert them into competitive LNG for international markets," said Guido Brusco, Eni's Chief Operating Officer for Global Natural Resources.

Are the Minnesota Vikings leaving wins on the table because Kevin O’Connell isn’t putting in the late-night film sessions that Ben Johnson is doing with Caleb Williams in Chicago? Or is he? That’s the provocative question Dave Stefano and Darren Campbell tackle head-on in this week’s episode of Two Old Bloggers, a Minnesota Vikings podcast produced by Vikings 1st & SKOL.
The Bears’ 12-4 turnaround — after Williams credited his two-hour nightly film sessions with Johnson — has Dave asking out loud: “Is somebody in the organization sitting down there and spending that extra time with the quarterback?” It’s a question ******* ody in the Twin Cities media seems to be asking, and it might be the most important one of the offseason. Or is it a big nothing-burger?
The Caleb Williams–Ben Johnson film room revelation from the Pardon My Take podcast, where Williams described daily one-and-a-half to two-hour meetings with his head coach during the season. The duo contrasts that with what’s publicly known — and not known — about Kevin O’Connell’s mentorship habits with J.J. McCarthy and now with Kyler Murray. As Darren notes, “O’Connell’s big on empowerment and trust — and that trust paid off with Darnold in 2024.” But does it go far enough?
They draw comparisons to Belichick/Brady and Payton/Brees, both marathon film-room partnerships that produced Super Bowl rings. From there, the show pivots to the NFL rumor mill’s latest offering: NFL insider Jason La Canfora floating a Jordan Addison trade to the Baltimore Ravens. Darren breaks down the case for and against, weighing Addison’s drop issues, off-field arrests, and contract situation against the reality that “his poor stats were largely driven by poor quarterback play.”
The show wraps with three “This Week in Vikingsland” topics: Nolan Teasley’s completed front office rebuild (with Ryan Pace, Trent Kirschner, and Tyler Hamblin now aboard), a Mac Jones-to-Vikings 2027 scenario worth monitoring, and Darren’s bold bounce-back prediction for T.J. Hockenson — fueled by improved QB play and Kyler Murray’s history of targeting his tight end.

Several months before blue strips started floating to the surface of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, a company involved in its last renovation more than 15 years ago was approached with an opportunity to do this remodel as well. But the company said no.
Specifically, it balked at two requirements – the Trump administration wanted it done by July 4, and the pool bottom had to be blue, according to two employees with the New Jersey-based Sika Corporation, which provided the concrete construction and sealing products for a 2010 renovation project to the Reflecting Pool.
According to the two employees, who spoke to CNN on the condition they not be identified, both demands made the job "unfeasible."
Ultimately, Rhino Linings, which is most popular for its truck bed linings but also says on its website it can be used for water facilities, was chosen to provide materials for the latest Reflecting Pool renovation.
Now, less than a month after it was applied, the material from the bottom of the Reflecting Pool appears to be peeling off, causing a massive Washington brouhaha, with President Donald Trump blaming radical left vandals and contractors promising to fix what they say are isolated problem areas. Meanwhile, algae has turned the water various shades of green despite the renovation that was supposed to clear that up.
