Hasan Piker came to the defense of children's entertainer Ms. Rachel after Fox News warned parents against her content, blasting the network for finding "two people who don't want children to be slaughtered" unacceptable.
The drama started on Fox News' "The Big Weekend Show," when contributor Tomi Lahren weighed in on Ms. Rachel (also known as Rachel Anne Accurso)'s past collaborations with left-wing figures, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
"I'd also say this person here on your screen is Hasan Piker in overalls and a stupid headband," Lahren noted during the conversation. "So, if that's what you want your kids to be watching, if that's what you want to be forming their ideas and their world view on, by all means."
As Lahren went on, she took aim at Ms. Rachel's appearance, adding, "There she looks age appropriate in that one photo."
"Listen, you can be a leftie and you can be like, a kids' educator, right? And you can be like, 'I'm a Democrat,' whatever," she continued. "But when you go so far as to advocate for things like Hamas, Palestine and you cloud people's judgement on what exactly a genocide is and who's to blame and you talk about Israel then you are not a children's educator anymore. You're a political activist. Like I said, Hasan Piker in a headband and overalls. So, parents, if that's what you want, I guess keep watching Ms. Rachel."

Nye recently spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative 2026 Annual Meeting in New York City. While there, attendee Dr. Trisha Pasricha, MD, MPH, shared a video of Nye on TikTok that's gone viral. In the video, Nye is participating in a panel discussion.
"I have a copy of the U.S. Constitution, which some of you may know is now available in paperback," he quips. "Say what you will about the U.S., say what you will about the Founding Fathers, the guys who wrote it. You could have mixed feelings about them. But Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8 of the U.S. Constitution [states]: 'The role of Congress is to promote the progress of science and useful arts.'"

The school year is in full swing in Georgia, and while students may already be counting down the days until next summer break, teachers know there is a long way to go.
There are more than 120,000 educators across the Peach State who have chosen to make education their priority.
But is Georgia a good place to work as a teacher?
According to a new report from WalletHub, Georgia ranks as one of the top states for teachers anywhere in the United States.
"Education remains one of the lowest-paying occupations requiring a bachelor's degree, and teacher salaries have not kept pace with inflation. Adjusted for inflation, on average, teachers are making 5% less than they did 10 years ago," according to the report. "Compensation and working conditions vary widely across the country, with some states offering far stronger support for educators than others."

EXCLUSIVE — The head of an influential Senate committee is urging Congress to reconsider the charter of the nation's largest teachers union, citing its far-left ***** ociations and allegedly irresponsible financial activity.
In recent years, the National Education ***** ociation, which represents roughly 3 million educators, has come under fire for mobilizing students and teachers to support liberal activist campaigns, been criticized by its Jewish members for failing to address antisemitism, spent millions in membership dues supporting left-wing causes and partnered with organizations that portray political violence and far-left extremism favorably.
Now, Sen. Bill Cassidy, the Republican chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, is calling on his colleagues to take a closer look at the NEA's congressional charter.
Blistering Report Exposes How National K-12 Group's Dei Agenda Is Trickling Down To Local Schools
"Children are struggling to read and to do basic math. Instead of helping students succeed, teachers' unions are injecting a dangerous, anti-American agenda into our classrooms," Cassidy told Fox News Digital. "Parents deserve to send their children to school without worrying that they will be indoctrinated with Dei and taught that Americans have 'misplaced faith' in our institutions."

Podcaster Avi Lichtschein confronted popular children's educator Ms. Rachel about her anti-Israel comments during an interaction at a neighborhood park, according to the Sunday episode of his show, "Depends on the Context."
During the episode, Lichtschein described running into the YouTuber, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, while they were both taking their children to the park. After meeting her, he asked her why she was anti-Israel. Accurso reportedly told him that she was not anti-Israel, but anti-Israeli government and anti-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I pushed back on this, and I said, 'That's absurd,'" Lichtschein said. "Saying you're anti-Netanyahu, but you're not anti-Israel? Netanyahu is the democratically elected leader of the sovereign nation. I think what [she does] is way beyond that."

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Texas court on Friday slashed a $50 million judgment that conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was ordered to pay families of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre over his false claims that one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history was a hoax.
The Infowars founder can only be forced to pay about $6 million, the Texas Third Court of Appeals ruled in a unanimous opinion, citing state laws that limit lawsuit damages.
The ruling does not affect a separate $1.25 billion judgment against Jones in Connecticut, where he was also found liable for defaming and causing emotional distress to relatives of the 20 first-graders and six educators killed in the Newtown shooting.
The punishing financial verdicts against Jones and his company, Free Speech Systems, in recent years have forced him into bankruptcy, led to some of his personal property being put up for auction and led to him leaving his Infowars platform. For decades, he used the platform to push conspiracy theories about the United Nations, the federal government, gun control and more.
Sandy Hook families have yet to collect any money from Jones, who has waged lengthy appeals in state and bankruptcy courts as his company faces liquidation. He remains on air after moving onto new websites and streaming platforms.

STURGIS — Sarah Arreola kept her nerves in check pretty well on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
She was confident in being able to do so, but as a varsity head volleyball coach, she was ready for anything as well.
Arreola returned to the sidelines after a long stint away from being a varsity head coach. She's been an educator at Sturgis High School for a bit, but Wednesday evening was her first experience as a varsity head coach for the orange and black.
It went well, by her standards. Sturgis opened its season with a three-set victory over visiting White Pigeon, 25-18, 25-11, 25-21.
"I'd say it was a nine out of 10," Arreola said of her first varsity head coaching experience for Sturgis, noting it was the first match for both teams and there are plenty of things to continue to work on. "When they are enjoying what they do, we are at our absolute best. They know it. When we started having fun, you saw smiling and lots of noise. It makes things easier."

Creating and following a budget is hard for most people. But it can be particularly challenging for single parents. Between housing, groceries, childcare, transportation, and all the unexpected costs that come with raising kids, there may not be much room for error.
Plus, the burnout you experience from solo parenting might lead to bad financial decisions and neglected money management.
But a realistic budget can help you make the most of your income, prepare for surprise expenses, and make steady progress toward your financial goals. As a financial educator and former NFCC-certified credit counselor, these are my tips for managing your budget as a single parent.
The starting point for creating a budget is to pinpoint your monthly income and total monthly expenses. It's normal for both of these figures to vary, so I recommend looking for your monthly averages. If your income varies by a lot, use the most conservative figure you expect to earn.

Kelsey Grammer is escalating his criticism of American history education as he promotes a new civics project tied to the nation's 250th anniversary.
During an appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, the Frasier star used the term "child abuse" to describe lessons that he believes teach students to view the United States primarily through its failures.
Grammer argued that children who repeatedly hear that America is a bad country may begin questioning whether being American makes them bad. He did not identify a particular school, curriculum or educator responsible for the approach he criticized.
His remarks follow an earlier interview in which he called for an overhaul of the education system and warned that people without a clear understanding of their history become easier to control.
Grammer made the comparison while discussing what he considers an overly negative presentation of American history. "What they're doing to children in school today is child abuse," he said in the podcast clip shared by TMZ.

Cynt Marshall has lived a life full of firsts.
She was the first Black cheerleader in the history of UC Berkeley before a 36-year tenure as a trailblazing executive at AT&T, where she rose to the ranks of senior vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer. When the Dallas Mavericks were rocked by a shocking 2018 scandal surrounding a decadeslong toxic work environment that included allegations of ******* ual harassment and domestic violence, Mark Cuban brought Marshall in to change the culture and right the ship. The Bay Area native became the NBA’s first female Black CEO.
So when Lyda Hill Philanthropies set out to commission and install 26 3D-printed life-sized lime green statues at Dallas’ FIFA fan festival at Fair Park during the World Cup, Marshall’s inclusion was a no-brainer as someone who has impacted the business of sports through creating more inclusive, people-first organizations.
The exhibit, ******* led #IfThenSheCan — Game Changers, highlights leaders in STEM who are transforming the game behind the scenes and championing the next generation of athletes, scientists, educators and leaders. Other honorees include U.S. Women’s National Team legend Julie Foudy, current USWNT superstar Naomi Girma and Moolah Kicks founder and CEO Natalie White.
“It's extremely heartwarming and touching to be included in this next iteration of If/Then,” Marshall told Yahoo Sports. “When you look across the country, you don’t see a lot of efforts promoting women in STEM. So it’s important for us to be role models and showcase role models so that when some little girl or boy will look at that statue, they can know that women have a place in science and sports.”

In an NFL memo Adam Schefter posted at 3:56 p.m. PST on Saturday afternoon, we learned that Neeru Khosla will officially serve as the Seattle Seahawks new controlling owner after the franchise's recent sale to the Khosla family and several limited partners.
The memo also mentions her husband Vinod, the tech investor who holds a net worth of over $13.7 billion, who's been the main name reported as the buyer of the Seahawks. According to The Hindustan Times, he's the world's 217th richest person. It says Neeru is an educator and entrepreneur, She has experience on the West Coast, having attended two of it's biggest universities in Stanford and San Jose State, earning a master's degree in molecular biology and studying gene expression.
The memo specifically mentions "Neeru Khosla, who would serve as the controlling owner," meaning the Seahawks will have a second straight female owner in row after Jody Allen. In seven years since her father Paul passed away in 2018, Jody allowed John Schneider, Pete Carroll and Mike Macdonald to advance the franchise, ensuring they would receive any help possible from ownership to see their vision through on the field. It'd be fascinating to know what advice Allen might share with Khosla, but there's plenty of hope the latter will learn from the former's approach of favoring the football operations and seeing the business thrive as a result.

Nearly two years after Harley-Davidson said it was rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion programs, activist Robby Starbuck has fired up his campaign again, accusing the iconic motorcycle company of breaking its promises to root out “wokeness.”
Starbuck, who led a consumer boycott in 2024 over a range of “woke” offenses, from hosting an LGBTQ+ boot camp to supporting gay and transgender equality legislation, called on ride-or-die Harley buyers to switch brands.
"Harley-Davidson said they were dropping all these crazy woke policies I exposed," he said in a video on social media platform X. "I regret to inform you that unfortunately today I am going to have to expose them again.”
Chief among his concerns is the leadership of Artie Starrs, Harley-Davidson’s newly minted CEO who took over in October.
"So after an extremely tumultuous period where your brand was torn down and now is seen as weird, woke and weak, you're gonna bring in a CEO that is gonna, like, project the masculine identity of the brand right? The pro-America identity of the brand. Well, maybe not so much," Starbucks said before calling out Starrs for sponsoring a pride group and an LGBTQ+ golf tournament that raised money for San Francisco Pride when he was running Topgolf and for launching antiracism training for educators while CEO of Pizza Hut.

SEATTLE (AP) — A portion of one of the most ambitious ocean monitoring networks ever built will go dark this month when scientists board a research vessel and motor off the Oregon coast to pull a research buoy from deep out of the Pacific.
The buoy 80 meters (260 feet) below the water's surface will be removed June 16 from the Ocean Observatories Initiative — a network of more than 900 ocean sensors built at a cost of $386 million that has continuously collected real-time data for more than a decade. But last month, the National Science Foundation announced it would dismantle most of the system, pulling instruments from waters off Oregon, Washington, Alaska, North Carolina and Greenland by 2027.
Funded by the foundation, the observatories have tracked everything from ocean circulation and marine ecosystems to climate change and extreme weather. Its data has been freely available and has informed more than 500 scientific publications. The project was slated to run for another 15 to 20 years.
In an emailed statement, the foundation said the decision is not a cancellation, but a “descoping” aligned with a “wider strategy of a nimbler approach to prioritize support for evolving scientific priorities and emerging technologies, as well as smart lifecycle management within its research infrastructure portfolio.” The foundation added that its decision drew in part on a 2025 National Academies report on the future of ocean science.
But for the scientists who built and operated the system — and the researchers, educators and students who rely on its data — the timing feels particularly punishing.
