Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 wasn't much of a fight.
McGregor's long-awaited return ended with his first attempted strike of the fight, a flying switch kick that immediately resulted in a torn ACL. The UFC 329 main event was an utter disappointment for everyone involved … and yet it still counts as an obligation fulfilled for "The Notorious." As a result of showing up versus Holloway, McGregor successfully removed a fight on his current UFC contract.
Just one more remains.
What does McGregor intend to do with his free agency? The world is his oyster. McGregor could box Jake Paul, settle his trilogy with Nate Diaz, or sellout Croke Park in Ireland. In a recently posted video on social media, however, McGregor made it clear that his first priority in a post-UFC world would be a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) debut.

Christine Ferea wants Cris Cyborg in BKFC – and it sounds like David Feldman does as well.
With her BKFC 92 win at Fenway Park on Saturday, Ferea moved to 12-1 in bareknuckle boxing – and immediately called for a heightened challenge in the free agent and one of the best to ever do it.
The callout got a response from Cyborg, who said she's never retired, regardless of how PFL framed her Aug. 22 win over Ketlen Vieira.
It also attracted the attention of Conor McGregor, according to Feldman. The two shared their enthusiasm in trying to make it happen.
"I wasn't but I think it's something we definitely can do," Feldman told MMA Junkie on Monday. "I think it's something we can float out there. It's funny because Conor messaged me early in the morning on Sunday and he was like, 'Who'd she call out? Cris, Cris, Cris Cyborg? Oh, that's a great fight. Let's do that one, Dave. Let's do that.' He was excited about it and I'm excited about it.

BOSTON – Joe Lauzon's MMA swan song was likely in October 2019. He raised his hands over his head as he upset the much younger Jonathan Peace at TD Garden.
On Saturday, it may have been his combat sports swan song. While the pose was the same, the parting imagery was much different. Lauzon (1-0) made his bareknuckle boxing debut when he dropped opponent Stash Kuykendall (0-3) five times en route to a TKO stoppage at 0:49 of Round 2. This bout took place at Fenway Park – the historic Green Monster in the background.
Lauzon, 42, still can pack a house, or in this case a ballpark. Custom Lauzon jerseys, looking very similar to that of the Red Sox's, filled the crowd behind home plate.
Kuykendall, 34, hung tough as he was repeatedly dropped with punches. Each knockdown looked like it'd be the last, but Kuykendall kept getting back up – until he couldn't.
After his win, Lauzon sported some swelling and lacerations. He dind't commit one way or another to if Saturday's bout will be his last, and teased that if BKFC comes back to Fenway in 2027, he might consider it.

BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing recently finalized its Aug. 29 fight card for the BKB 58 event on Sat. night (Aug. 29, 2026) at James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida. Topping the promotion's return to "The Sunshine State" is BKB Heavyweight Champion Gustavo Trujillo, who collides with former BKB and BKFC heavyweight ****** leholder Mick Terrill on super short notice.
Elsewhere on the card, Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa makes his bare knuckle debut opposite well-traveled boxing veteran Yesner Talavera at Super Lightweight, not long after Alberto Blas defends his Super Featherweight strap against Brandon Birr. In addition, Cuban boxing sensation Yunieski Gonzalez collides with Welsh warrior Ethan George for the vacant BKB Cruiserweight crown.

Chelsea Dodson self-identifies as a wife, a mother of three and a baker of sugar cookies.
But there's this other thing. … Or things.
Dodson, a Grants native and an Albuquerque resident, recently signed a multi-fight contract to join her husband, John Dodson, as a bare-knuckle fighter.
"They (the BKFC in the person of matchmaker Jewlz Grey, who confirmed the signing on Instagram), just offered me a contract, we went through it, and it was one of those (offers) you don't want to say no to," Dodson said on Tuesday in a phone interview.
The BKFC offer didn't come out of nowhere, nor did it come simply because she's the wife of the reigning BKFC men's flyweight champion.

Ahead of his return to the BKFC ring, Darren Till was involved in a street altercation outside of a pub in his hometown of Liverpool, England.
Till is hoping to continue his good start to life with the BKFC, following his debut knockout win over Bellator and BAMMA veteran Aaron Chalmers. A step up in competition is an understatement for the Scouser, whose second fight with his new promotion sees him compete against a several-time UFC **** le challenger and Olympic silver medalist Yoel Romero.
The fight is one of the sport's most anticipated matchups, but Darren Till, eager to return to action, has been making headlines outside the ring. Till was involved in an incident that circulated online earlier this week. The 33-year-old can be seen aggressively confronting the towering 6-foot-5 Lee Browne outside o the Blarney Stone Irish Pub on Renshaw Street in Liverpool.
The situation quickly became heated, with Till sizing up Browne while screaming, "Who's a sh*thouse? I'm right here now, and you're saying nothing," likely referring back to their online feud in the weeks prior. Browne had spent weeks trash-talking the former UFC fighter, calling 'The Gorilla' a coward and accusing him of ducking a fight between the two.
Not willing to settle their grudge with words, Darren Till hit Lee Browne with a barrage of punches, sending him crashing to the floor before a crowd of onlookers.

Darren Till thinks Ian Machado Garry talks too much.
Since his arrival onto the global MMA scene, Garry has been a divisive figure among the MMA community for some of the things he says, so much so that many of his fellow fighters have come out to trash him for his takes. This happened again last week, when, as part of his media tour ahead of UFC 330, Garry commented that the world would be better off if women ruled it. This led many high-profile names to rip Garry, and now former UFC welterweight **** le challenger Darren Till has joined the fray.
"I'm not a hateful guy. I don't hate Ian Garry," Till told The Mac Life. "But I just think every time that guy speaks, he just absolutely tarnishes his brand, his image, by what he's talking about. Look, I'm a guy for the power of the women. I have four girls and me missus and stuff like that. Powerful women, of course, we love that, but it's just the things he says. And it's always like he's trying to buy love. If he was a bit more like me, mate, people would love him, because he's obviously a great fighter.
"The one thing as well, people can see and know a fake guy. And he's got fake written all over him. For me he has, anyway."
Garry challenges Islam Makhachev for the welterweight **** le next Saturday in the main event of UFC 330. Till, meanwhile, fights Yoel Romero in the main event of BKFC 94 on Sep. 24.

Darren Till and Yoel Romero had to be forced apart by security their face-off ran beyond three tense minutes as the ex-UFC pair set the tone for their dream match in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).
Liverpudlian Till, 33, is making his second outing for the Conor McGregor-owned bare-knuckle promotion after securing a knockout win of Aaron Chalmers, once of Geordie Shore fame, in his debut in May.
The former UFC **** le contender now clashes with someone he once shared the middleweight rankings with in Romero, who at 49 continues to prove his reputation as a physical specimen.
After trading barbs in their press conference in Manchester, the fighters took to the stage to close out the show with a customary face-off - and while there were no fireworks in the sense of a physical clash, it **** ed attention for a completely different reason.
Romero slowly lifted his head and locked eyes with Till, with their stare not broken for a total of three minutes and 28 seconds.

The gloves are coming off once again for Aspen Ladd.
Ladd, a former UFC and PFL fighter, will give it a second go in bareknuckle boxing when she makes her BKB debut. The promotion on Tuesday announced that Ladd is set to meet Bianca Daimoni at BKB 58 on Aug. 29 from James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Ladd, 31, first tried her hand at bareknuckle in BKFC last November when she knocked out Shyanna Bintliff in the first round at BKFC 84.
Ladd's move to bareknuckle came 15 months after her most recent MMA fight in the PFL, a unanimous decision win over Ekaterina Shakalova at Bellator Champions Series 2 in May 2024.
Ladd spent five years in the UFC and competed seven times in the octagon, going 4-3 during her tenure.

Mike Perry and Dillon Danis are venturing into new waters.
The two well-known combat sports names have agree to meet in an MMA bout on Aug. 29 at the Kia Center in Orlando, headlining the debut combat event from online crypto casino and sportsbook DuelBet. The show will be held under the "Duel: Arena" promotional banner, organized by veteran MMA matchmaker Dean Toole, featuring a hybrid card composed of MMA, kickboxing and boxing bouts.
The card, including Perry vs. Danis, will take place in a ring rather than a cage, per MMA Fighting. Toole told the outlet that the Aug. 29 lineup will additionally include "some influencer bouts as well, and a few [other] UFC vets" to be announced soon.
Perry (15-8 MMA) made his successful return to MMA in May with a second-round stoppage of Nate Diaz on MVP MMA's Rousey vs. Carano event on Netflix.
Prior to that, "Platinum" hadn't competed in MMA since exiting the UFC in 2021. Over that five-year gap, Perry emerged as the face of bare-knuckle boxing, rattling off a perfect 6-0 record in BKFC buoyed by brutal wins over a cascade of UFC veterans, including former champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, and current contender Michael Page.

Trout was knocked out by British fighter Ben Bonner 30 seconds into the second round of their contest for the vacant BKFC Lightweight Championship at BKFC Liberty Brawl in Philadelphia. The result has been considered an upset, as Trout was the favorite to win the vacant ******* le heading into the event.

Bonner scored a knockdown against Trout in the first round with an overhand right. While Trout had previously been knocked down in his bare-knuckle boxing career, rallying to defeat Carlos Trinidad-Snake in April 2025 to defend the BKFC Welterweight Championship, he was unable to recover this time. Bonner used the same right-handed punch to finish the fight in the following round.

Austin Trout wanted to celebrate the Fourth of July in style, but he ended up on the wrong side of the fireworks.
On Friday night, Trout faced off with Ben Bonner in the main event of BKFC Liberty Brawl at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Since moving to bare-knuckle in 2023, the former WBA boxing champion had put together a strong run in BKFC, stacking up five wins in a row, including winning the BKFC welterweight championship. But that run came to an end against Bonner, who brutally knocked him out in the second round.
Trout cut quite the scene walking to the BKFC ring, coming out in homage to Apollo Creed in Rocky IV, wearing the star-spangled outfit and trunks, with an accompanying musical act performing James Brown's version of Living in America.
Unfortunately for Trout, it appears he never actually watched Rocky IV, because while he didn't mean the same tragic end as Creed does in the film, Bonner did get the better of Trout for the fight, ultimately flooring him with a thudding right hand in the second round, finishing the fight.
It was a tough scene for the 40-year-old Trout, but a huge win for Bonner, who also claimed the BKFC lightweight **** le.

There aren't any UFC fights this Fourth of July weekend, but Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) will still be around to deliver some fisticuffs.
The pugilistic promotion returns this Friday (July 3, 2026) from inside Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is headlined by a pair of **** le fights between Austin Trout vs. Ben Bonner and Britain Hart vs. Sarah Shell. Naturally, the weigh-ins went down earlier on Thursday, and in typical BKFC fashion, things got a little handsy.
The staredown between Welterweights Patrick Sullivan vs. Ruben Arroyo started off with an innocent bit of shadowboxing but quickly got out of hand. The two began angling for front position, resulting in some physical contact that prompted Sullivan to shove Arroyo off the stage entirely. BKFC President David Feldman was on hand and wasn't impressed. In fact, Feldman shoved "f—king punk" Sullivan and asked aloud, "Why the f—k would you do that?"
