River City actor Iain Robertson has been accused of dragging his former partner by the hair during an ******* ault at his flat in Glasgow.
Amiera Darwish, a fellow actor, told a court that Robertson threatened her on two occasions over a period of months in 2014, including one where he left her "cowering" in fear.
She later ended their relationship, but said the 45-year-old bombarded her with an "obsessive" amount of calls and texts, as well as gifts.
Robertson - who played Stevie O'Hara in the BBC soap - denies eight charges involving four women, spanning from 2004 and 2020, including a charge of rape.
Darwish, 40, told the High Court in Glasgow she had first met Robertson via a director they knew around late 2012 when she was about to graduate from drama school.

Former Scotland midfielder Graeme Souness reckons the Tartan Army's celebrations at the World Cup will do wonders for the tourism industry.
Scotland fans have earned praise for the noise they generated both at Saturday's Group C opener against Haiti and at a Boston Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park the following day, as well as around the host city.
"What an advert for Scotland - and for the Scottish Tourist Board," Souness said on BBC One's Breakfast.
"How many people will want to visit after seeing how they celebrate and being in their company. They are doing the country proud.
"They are there to celebrate and right now the team are giving them something to shout about."

Matt Fitzpatrick was playing like the number one player in the world before the PGA Championship.
He'd won three times in just over a month, including back-to-back wins at the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic, and was among the leading contenders heading into Aronimink, where he hoped to claim his second major championship.
But for a few weeks, Fitzpatrick went off the boil. He didn't contend at the PGA, and he was T36 in an anonymous week at the Memorial Tournament. Fitzpatrick has won more than anyone else on the PGA Tour this year, but his momentum looked to have stalled.
That was until he turned up at TPC Toronto for the Canadian Open. Suddenly, the Sheffield-born star was back to his best, and he finished in solo second the week before the US Open. According to Fitzpatrick, that's because of a recent breakthrough he made on the range.
Fitzpatrick recently had to undergo the nightmare of finding a new driver, after the club he had so much success with earlier in the year cracked. That's what he is partly attributing to his slight downturn in form.

Elijah Just was left "a little disappointed" despite scoring twice as New Zealand started their World Cup with a 2-2 draw with Iran that had BBC pundit Chris Sutton suggesting had "added a couple of zeros" on to the Motherwell midfielder's transfer value.
The 26-year-old became the first Well player to score at a World Cup - and his country's top scorer ever at a finals - with two sublime finishes at Los Angeles Stadium.
"It is a memory that'll last me for the rest of my life," Just said while paying tribute to captain Chris Wood, the 34-year-old Nottingham Forest striker, for setting up both goals.
"Obviously incredible. It's not something I could have even dreamt of, so I'm just so happy. One was nice, so two was amazing."
Just, who was bought by Well from Danish club Horsens on a two-year contract last summer, has now scored 11 goals in 45 appearances for the All Whites but had mixed emotions considering they only took a point from a game they dominated and led twice.

Marko Stamenic became the third Swansea City player to feature in this summer's World Cup finals, playing almost the entirety of New Zealand's 2-2 Group G draw with Iran in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old midfielder was in the starting line-up for the All White's first World Cup appearance in 16 years, playing 92 minutes before being replaced by Nottingham Forest's Tyler Bindon in stoppage time.
Stamenic, who was winning his 39th cap, made 57 passes with an accuracy rate of 87%. He made one successful tackle, conceded two fouls and had one shot off target.
He is one of three players of Pacific Island heritage in the New Zealand squad - he has a Samoan mother - and before the tournament said he would be thinking of his father who died suddenly last October.
"I'm always thinking of him when I step on the field, whether that's for the national team or for Swansea," Stamenic told BBC Sport Wales.

Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FANG) is another oil and gas exploration and production company that Jim Cramer has recently started commenting on. The shares are up by 36% over the past year and 30% year-to-date. Like ConocoPhillips, Cramer has also recommended the stock for those who want exposure to the sector in the current environment. Most of the debate surrounding oil stocks is in the context of the Iran war and the resulting tightness in supply. In his tweet, Cramer commented on oil prices and wondered whether easing supply could make investing in these stocks difficult:
"With oil back to $96 here we go back to Conoco and Diamondback And, of course, higher yields….relentless but now there is more supply coming and it will be a much tougher slog"
Here are his earlier remarks about Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FANG):

I think that EQT is really [inaudible]. EQT is really good because it is the data center natural gas. And we want anything data center."

Video **** istant referee Shaun Evans has denied "intentionally" making a hand gesture "to communicate a message, affiliation, game or belief of any kind" after he was cleared by a Fifa investigation.
Evans says the gesture was "an involuntary, subconscious twitch" that he was "unaware" of.
The Australian could be seen making the fingers of his right hand into a upside down 'OK' sign when Fifa cut to a shot of the VAR team at the referee hub in Dallas before Germany's 7-1 win over Curacao on Sunday.
Such a gesture has two very distinct meanings - one harmless and the other connected to an expression of white supremacy.
World governing body Fifa said after looking into the matter that it found "no evidence of breaches of the Fifa Disciplinary Code".

The Nats were able to put the San Francisco meltdown behind them, and now have another chance to go 3 games over .500 for the first time since 2019. A 29-43 Royals team will stand in their way. This season has been a major disappointment for the Royals, who had so many stars at the WBC. The Nats still can’t take them lightly.
Blake Butera is making a couple tweaks to his lineup. Curtis Mead will be back at third base after not playing yesterday. The outfield will consist of Daylen Lile in left, Jacob Young in center and Dylan Crews in right. James Wood will be the DH. Nasim Nunez is the preferred option at second and Keibert Ruiz is back behind the plate. Andrew Alvarez will look to bounce back from a walk filled outing last time out.
This Royals offense has struggled this season, but there are still some big names. Old pal Lane Thomas will be leading off against the left handed Alvarez. Star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. will follow him. Familiar faces like Starling Marte and Salvador Perez will be in the lineup, though Perez is at first and not behind the plate. Mitch Spence got lit up in his lone MLB outing this year, but gets the start tonight.

There's an old test for whether you can actually afford a car. Put 20% down, finance for no more than four years and keep everything the car costs you — payment, insurance, fuel, maintenance — under 10% of your gross income. That's the 20-4-10 rule, and financial planners have abided by it for decades (1).
The problem is passing that test isn't so easy anymore. According to a new CNBC ****** ysis, you'd need to earn about $120,000 a year to afford an average used car under this rule (2). The New York Knicks clinched their first NBA ******* le in over five decades over the weekend, turning a city known for its sharp elbows, grit, and tough love into a bastion of joy, painting smiles on fans and casual observers alike as cheers rang through the New York City streets and beyond.
Moments after the final buzzer sounded in San Antonio, Texas, where the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in the fifth and final game of the NBA championship series, social media and news broadcasts were inundated with images and videos of fans across New York City taking to the streets to celebrate the team's performance.
"It is a beautiful thing," New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani told ABC7 in an interview over the weekend. "The nation's largest city has become the world's smallest town, all of us thinking about the same thing."
He continued, "I was reading a piece this morning that wrote about how oftentimes in our city's history, this kind of unity comes in a moment of tragedy, and it's so beautiful that this unity is coming in a moment of joy."
Laurie Santos, professor of psychology at Yale University and host of "The Happiness Lab" podcast, told ABC News that science helps explain why people both in and outside of New York City are joyful about the Knicks' win.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Canada captain Alphonso Davies remained limited in the team's World Cup training session on Monday as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Davies warmed up with the team at Canada's training base but remained in return to play protocol ahead of the co-host's second group match on Thursday against Qatar at BC Place in Vancouver.
The left back injured a hamstring last month while playing for Bayern Munich in 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain that knocked the German club out of the Champions League semifinals.
Davies has not played for Canada since March 2025, when he tore an ACL in the CONCACAF Nations League finals. He has 15 goals in 58 games for Canada.
Canada opened the World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday in Toronto. Late substitute Cyle Larin scored an equalizer for the Canadians in the 78th minute.

A rugby club has said it feels it is being "forced out" of its Surrey home by the local council.
Elmbridge Eagles Rugby League club has been unable to play matches at its home in Oaken Lane, Claygate, since 2016, when 52,000 tons of soil was dumped at the site by mistake.
Only 26,000 tons was meant to be placed there, to improve drainage.
Elmbridge Borough Council said it was pushing forward with a forfeiture notice issued in November 2025, claiming the club has been "in breach of its lease for an extended period".
"We're just receiving eviction notices, in simple terms," Kevin Rudd, the club's acting secretary, told BBC Radio Surrey.

County Championship leaders Sussex have told eight players they will not be offered contracts at the end of the season as they aim to regain control of their finances.
However, head coach Paul Farbrace may stay at the club in a part-time director of cricket role, having earlier said he would be leaving Hove.
"I'd rather keep players rather than me stay on a full-time basis," Farbrace told BBC Radio Sussex.
"The plan would be for me to work two days a week in the winter and three days in the summer, supporting the new head coach."
Sussex's finances are under strict control by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), following losses of £1.3m in 2025, including a salary cap for the next three years.
