The SEC is mired in a national championship drought, but the conference still claims to have unmatched depth. That argument might gain steam after the release of the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. Nine SEC teams are ranked in the Top 25, more than any other conference. That includes six teams in the top 11.

Aaron Rodgers has said when he's done playing football you won't hear or see him again.
He'll go into the darkness.
"I'm gonna be out of the light," he reinforced again during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" at the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp.
But he's not out of football yet. And with a platform, Rodgers apparently is going to get everything off his chest before he heads off into the sunset.

Superstar athletes traded jerseys and workout gear for designer looks on Wednesday night as they hit the red carpet for the 2026 ESPY Awards. The annual celebration of athletic achievement, held in New York City, saw tuxes, gowns and, in some cases, a fashion **** ist from none other than Flavor Flav. But who really brought their A-game?
We **** embled our Kids Rate panel of 11 children, ranging in age from 2 to 13, to judge the fashion winners (not to be confused with the actual winners).
Our young critics were drawn to sparkles, colors and unexpected accessories (an apple! a baseball bat!). They spotted spiderwebs, ice cream swirls and "melting faces" where the adults saw couture. One celebrity even reminded a kid of "my cousin Joey."
They also had plenty to say about one shirt-averse attendee. "Is that his underwear?" asked Beau, 7. "Ew, no."

New York City's pied-à-terre tax was designed to extract money from second-home owners wealthy enough not to live in the city full-time. A side effect no one planned for: it's pushing middle-class and working homeowners, people who already live in their houses, into estate-planning conversations they've never had before, at hourly rates they've never had to pay, for advice the wealthy have had access to for generations.
The rush of publicity accompanying the mayor's office highlighting a list of over 680,000 New York properties that could theoretically be subject to a new tax has inadvertently advertised how public most property data is. And it's advertised the benefits of seeking some totally legal privacy, or risk inadvertent doxxing, courtesy of Gracie Mansion.
"The wealthy and the ultra-high-net-worth have been in this game for a long time," said Myles Fischer, a partner who co-leads the Trusts and Estates practice group at Harris Beach Murtha. "The rest are sort of catching up." And that isn't cheap. Many middle-class and blue-collar homeowners are "being forced into a situation where they have to sit down with lawyers" to get planning advice that families with means secured years ago. After all, he added, "it's not that you have to be a rich person to have something worth protecting. We see it from across the board."
The trigger, in this case, was a public records disclosure. When the DOF released its supplemental pied-à-terre ****** sment file, the coverage focused on the penthouses and the LLCs holding them. But the unfiltered file swept in far more than luxury properties—it included modest homes in Bayside, single-family houses in Staten Island, properties whose owners may have had no idea their name, address, and ****** sed value were sitting in a publicly searchable dataset. Many still don't.
Fischer wasn't surprised by the reaction. "Anonymity is desirable when it can be achieved," he said, "but anonymity is also typically only one piece of the pie, so to speak. It's part of the tax plan, part of the estate plan, part of the ****** et protection, limitation-on-liability sort of pie." Privacy, in other words, is the door. Carson Hocevar's unfiltered personality has quickly made him one of NASCAR's rising stars and a fan favorite.
And while his racing tactics may not endear him to other drivers (and those drivers' fans), the 23-year-old's passion for racing is not disputed.

TURMUS AYYA, West Bank, July 11 (Reuters) - U.S. Democratic lawmaker Ro Khanna said he was detained by Israeli settlers armed with U.S.-made rifles during a West Bank visit this week that he cast as an unfiltered look at the human toll of Israeli occupation as he weighs a 2028 presidential run.
Speaking with Reuters on Thursday in a Palestinian village, Khanna said his group's van was surrounded by settlers wielding M4 rifles a day earlier while touring a part of the southern West Bank where residents face frequent settler attacks.
"We were at a village that Israeli settlers had destroyed, they had destroyed the school, they had destroyed that village, and we were just looking at it," said Khanna, a progressive lawmaker from California in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"And these hoodlums come in with machine guns – M4, an American-made machine gun – and they detain us. They block off the road. And then they call the IDF and the IDF is on their side, not on the side of the Americans," Khanna said, referring to the Israeli military.

LeBron James is taking his time to decide where he'll spend his 24th NBA season. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly his top destinations after departing from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Charles Barkley believes there's a clear No. 1 option. In an interview on the Philadelphia sports radio show Unfiltered With Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo, Barkley said the "fitting way" for James to end his career is in Cleveland.
"I'll be honest with you guys, if he goes to the Cavaliers, which is what I think the rightful thing, because that's his home, he grew up there, they're probably going to be favored to win the East, in my opinion," Barkley said. "Because they've got a good team. They're lacking leadership. And LeBron's a great leader. To me, it'll be a fitting way for him to finish his career."

Christian Pulisic has clearly fallen out of favor with some USA football legends following his poor World Cup campaign. After USWNT legend Carli Lloyd called him out, this time it was Landon Donovan’s turn to criticize the AC Milan forward.
Pulisic didn’t make much of an impact in the Stars and Stripes’ 4-1 loss to Belgium, struggling to create any chances in the final third. He ultimately left the match in the 59th minute due to an ankle injury he sustained after being on the receiving end of Youri Tielemans’ crunch tackle.
“I’m starting to look back, and it’s more than just a trend now. It is. Like, when the games are easy, and it’s a home qualifier, and it’s Jamaica, yes. But in the big moments and the big games, he just hasn’t… I’m just saying it factually. He is who he is at this point,” Donovan said of Pulisic on the Unfiltered Soccer podcast.

The new-look Pac-12 is preparing to kick off its first year as a full-fledged conference after holdovers of the former league, Oregon State and Washington State, operated as a twosome under the Pac-12 banner following the conference's practical dissolution after the 2023-24 season.
Beginning this upcoming season, the Pac-12 will feature Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga (basketball), Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State and Washington State. The league will also begin a new set of media rights deals with CBS, The CW, and USA Sports. CBS will broadcast a few of the league's marquee games, with the vast majority of inventory landing on The CW and USA Network.
Considering the breakdown of its media distribution, it's fair to say the Pac-12 has solidified itself as a mid-major conference. Still, the Pac-12 is likely in a position to pay its member schools more than their previous homes — mostly in the Mountain West and Sun Belt — could have afforded to pay.
We won't know exactly how much that is until some of the public schools in the conference file their financials because, at least according to Pac-12 commissioner Teresa Gould, it is "inappropriate" to publicize media revenues earned from the conference's new set of rights deals. Appearing on a recent episode of the Bald-Faced Truth Unfiltered show with independent college football reporter John Canzano, Gould explained her reasoning.
"I think there's a long history in our business of a lot of folks — whether it's the media, whether it's industry people — kind of focusing in on media rights numbers. And I would say a couple of things," Gould began. "Number one, media rights are one piece of the overall distribution. All money is green. All money can be spent. I personally think, number one, that it's incredibly inappropriate to be releasing numbers of agreements that we have with media rights partners that are very complex and have rights fees included, have marketing commitments included. They're not simple agreements. But I would also say, in addition to the confidentiality of the agreements we signed with our media rights partners, we prefer to focus on our entire business enterprise and the overall number that our members will get at the end of the first year, FY27. That is really the more important number than the media rights number specifically."
Beginning this upcoming season, the Pac-12 will feature Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga (basketball), Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State and Washington State. The league will also begin a new set of media rights deals with CBS, The CW, and USA Sports. CBS will broadcast a few of the league's marquee games, with the vast majority of inventory landing on The CW and USA Network.
Considering the breakdown of its media distribution, it's fair to say the Pac-12 has solidified itself as a mid-major conference. Still, the Pac-12 is likely in a position to pay its member schools more than their previous homes — mostly in the Mountain West and Sun Belt — could have afforded to pay.
