Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton enjoyed a rare sisters' night out at the Elie Saab show during Paris Fashion Week on October 3.
Paris turned heads in a sheer black lace evening gown and high-waisted underwear. Joining her on the red carpet, Nicky stunned in a sequin floral blazer and a gold skirt with beaded, fringe detailing.
The Hilton sisters' PFW moment comes less than a week after they matched in liquid silver ensembles dripping in glitter at the 2026 VMAs on September 27.
As kids, Paris Hilton, 45, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild, 42, were practically twins when it came to their wardrobes. The sisters, who are only two and a half years apart, have since adopted opposing—and iconic—individual aesthetics. One thing the Hilton sisters agree on when it comes to fashion, however, is that sequins and glitter are the ultimate red carpet accessories.

So often pitchers' duels don't really stand up to the hype, but today's matchup between two former Stetson Hatters – the Mariners' Logan Gilbert and the Rangers' Jacob deGrom – delivered on all that promise and then some. The two pitchers combined for 23 strikeouts, and deGrom carried a perfect game through five innings. In true pitching duel style, it looked like the pitcher who blinked first would come out on the short end, but despite Logan Gilbert making a couple of mistakes, his offense was able to pick him up and deliver him the win. Bragging rights are fun; wins are better. (Gilbert also gets the honor of leading MLB in whiffs today: 24 to deGrom's 20, despite having one fewer strikeout than deGrom.)
This all being said, it was a slog for the Mariners early on. The best at-bat the first time through the order for the Mariners went to – surprise, surprise – Cal Raleigh, who battled deGrom for nine pitches before striking out on deGrom's fastest fastball of the day, a 99.6 mph heater (my campaign for decimal points on the ribbon board in the stadium, which read 100, continues unabated). But the Mariners did fight deGrom, getting themselves into good counts and forcing him into the zone; he finished the second inning at 37 pitches, compared to Gilbert's 24.
But it only took two pitches to offset that work in the third. Nicky Lopez was able to take 96 up and in from Gilbert and find a hole on the infield, and one batter later, with two outs, Joc Pederson jumped a first-pitch slider for a two-run homer. It wasn't a terrible pitch from Gilbert, away from Pederson but probably still too much on the plate; Gilbert had struck Pederson out on the slider in his first at-bat. The slider was particularly nasty today, with an eye-popping 75% whiff rate. He led with the pitch, throwing it 40 times, 12 times to start off an at-bat, which feels like a different sequence than he's used. Gilbert credits Cal for coming up with a good game plan, especially after he felt like he fell into some predictable patterns in his last time out against the A's.
"Like with Joc, we got him with the slider early, so he probably thought we were going to it next time," explained Gilbert. "But then also other guys, we went heavy spin, like with Duran, and then next time went three or four straight fastballs. So I think we did a good job there. They're trying to look at how we're probably scouting them, and then next time through, maybe pitch them different. I think Cal did a good job there."
But deGrom was just as tough on the other side. After striking out eight times in the first three innings, the Mariners hitters decided to try a different strategy the second time through the order. That also didn't work, as they let deGrom cruise through the fourth on nine pitches, keeping his perfect game intact.

With roots dating back to 1868, Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) faces a future that hinges on getting a nonchalant Gen Z crowd to pay to fertilize their lawns, just like their proud green-lawn-owning parents.
New CEO Nate Baxter realizes the hill to climb is steep and chock-full of roadblocks, such as more people buying Astroturf for lawns or putting stones where grass once lived — and needing water to do so.
"So our core consumer that has been with us for decades. They're homeowners or renters who care about their lawn. They are dedicated. And they care about weeds — they don't want them. They want the perfect lawn story," Baxter said in a new episode of the Power Players with Brian Sozzi podcast (watch above; listen in below). "What we are seeing with the next generation of consumer is a real interest in going natural. They don't mind an occasional dandelion in their lawn."
Baxter said Scotts has released new fertilizer in recyclable paper bags and all-natural lawn food to cater to this finicky crowd. He promises a push into products that could help people connect with the health of their lawn's soil.

San Antonio FC will try to halt a recent slide and regain their footing in the USL Championship Western Conference table when they take on a hot New Mexico United club Saturday on the road.
SAFC (8-5-8, 32 points), which sits in fifth place, and conference leading New Mexico (11-4-4, 37 points) kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque.
San Antonio steps into the challenging high-altitude environment of Albuquerque against New Mexico, which has propelled itself to the top spot in Western Conference based on winning nine of its last 11 league matches. New Mexico has not lost a league match in more than three months - the last of which came in a 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rowdies on May 20.
In contrast, SAFC is trying to shake off last week's 1-0 home loss to the Oakland Roots SC, which was its second straight loss at Toyota Field. The back-to-back home losses have dropped SAFC from second place to fifth in the Western Conference standings.
"I do think it's going to be a difficult game, obviously, in that environment (at New Mexico)," SAFC midfielder Nicky Hernandez said. "They have a lot of fans, they're very loud and they're hot right now and we got to come in there and try to ruin that for them. It will be an interesting game."

LEXINGTON – It took three weeks longer than expected to complete the 93rd News Journal Tennis Tournament, but once action resumed Jake Chilcote – or should we say, Mr. Tiebreaker – simply picked up where he left off.
He beat former Lexington High School teammate and 2024 champ Ethan Remy 6-1, 1-6, 10-8 for the men's singles ***** le Saturday at Lakewood Racquet Club.
Since Nicky Wong capped his four-year reign in 2022, there have been four different champions over the last four years. There was Justin Csepe in 2023, Remy in 2024 and Dylan Catanese in 2025, paving the way for Chilcote's run to the championship this summer.
No one can say he didn't earn it.
Chilcote's last three wins in the tournament were all decided by 10-point tiebreakers. He went the distance – first to 10 points by two in a decisive mini-set – to beat former champ Alex "Bones" McCann in the quarterfinals and again in the semis against 2024 finalist Cooper Remy, Ethan's younger brother.

The Washington Commanders' offensive line has come under scrutiny during training camp. Nick Allegretti, the Commanders' guard-turned-center who's been tabbed to replace Tyler Biadasz, missed much of training camp with a calf strain. Then, star left tackle Laremy Tunsil tore his triceps muscle, a season-ending injury that happened before the season even started.
Allegretti returned to practice this week, and while there will be a ramp-up period, the hope is that he'll be ready to go for Week 1. Unfortunately, he did leave Wednesday's practice early.
In place of Tunsil, the Commanders have selected Brandon Coleman, who was the starting left tackle in 2024. Because of all of these changes, the Commanders' offensive line has been under the microscope, but right guard Sam Cosmi says he can't wait to prove people wrong this season.
"I can go down the line," Cosmi says. "I'm excited for BC's opportunity again to play at left tackle; I think he has all the measurables and athleticism to be very successful at that position. Chris Paul is a monster. I know a lot of people; he's an under-the-radar type thing. Nicky's very smart, very athletic. And then you have Josh (Conerly), who's come into year two and is showing a big improvement in knowledge and technique, so I'm excited about our whole O-line."
One thing that seems common for the Commanders this season is hearing what the players are saying versus what the rest of the league and media outlets believe. This entire Commanders' roster has embraced everything their coaches are preaching. They are putting in the work to get to know new faces, the veterans are imparting their knowledge to the younger players, and everyone is making a concentrated effort to be on the same page.

Two Championship-title favorites will go head-to-head Sunday to kick off their second-tier campaigns — get ready for Burnley vs. West Ham.
Even after selling top talents Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville in the offseason, West Ham are still favored to lift the trophy next spring. Joel Veltman and Manor Soloman are reassuring additions though, and a 3-1 victory over Portsmouth in the EFL Cup last weekend showed that the Hammers are ready to play.
Meanwhile, Burnley is entering their first campaign with Nicky Hayen at the helm, ushering in a new era for the club. While some key players departed from Turf Moor during the transfer window, some fresh faces are still expected to arrive in the coming weeks. After failing to win any preseason fixtures, Burnley could benefit from a victory at home.
Both of these clubs are looking to make a quick return to the Premier League after being relegated last season.

Blake Butera just dropped a bomb in his pre-game press conference this afternoon. He announced that star shortstop CJ Abrams is going to move to second base moving forward. In some ways the decision is shocking, but it also makes a lot of sense.
CJ Abrams was the starting shortstop in the All-Star game for the Nationals League. Moving a player of that caliber off his position in the middle of August is quite the move. However, when you look at what Abrams can do defensively, the move is only logical.
Abrams has been a negative defender at short throughout his career. The 25 year old has compiled a fielding run value of -7 or worse every season as a big leaguer. Sometimes defensive metrics can be finicky, but when they say the same thing every season, you have to listen.
While Abrams' offensive production has skyrocketed this season under new coaching, the defense has not taken the same step. Abrams has -13 FRV, the worst of any shortstop this season. He has also been making more errors than ever, with the lowest fielding percentage of his career.
In Spring Training and in the beginning of the season, the coaching staff sounded optimistic about Abrams' defense. They talked about how great of an athlete he was and how there was a lot of untapped potential on both sides of the ball. However, as the year went on, we stopped hearing as much about his defense.

Burnley midfielder Josh Laurent has praised the open communication he has with new boss Nicky Hayen ahead of their upcoming Championship season.
Hayen has been vocal about being open to exits for players who wish to leave.
"He is very honest and very open, I think it's nice," Laurent told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"You know exactly where you are as people and as players and you can work from that. I don't think you could ever be angry with someone's opinion, and now it's clear.
"You want people that want to play football for Burnley. I think it's a mutual understanding between everyone and I think it can only be a positive thing."

Hibernian's summer recruits are looking good and it's down to the "fantastic job" being done by sporting director Malky Mackay, reckons Andy Halliday.
Ahead of the Leith side's return to competitive action in the Conference League second qualifying round first leg against Malisheva in Kosovo, head coach David Gray has some selection headaches.
Key creator Nicky Cadden is one of the core squad members ruled out with injury, but former Hearts and Motherwell midfielder Halliday anticipates the summer reinforcements filling the void well, particularly at the top end of the park.
"Under David Gray, especially over the last couple of seasons, a big part of their strategy is to utilise the wing-backs and put crosses into the box," Halliday told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast.
"I think I'd probably make a strong case that Nicky Cadden is arguably the best crosser in the league and a huge output for Hibs in terms of their chances created on that left-hand side.

Texas A&M is becoming a true destination for top volleyball athletes. The program is not yet considered a traditional blue blood, but head coach Jamie Morrison, now working under a new contract, is pushing the Aggies toward that level. Winning championships is one way to climb into that tier, and the Aggies have already done that. Developing athletes who can compete beyond their collegiate careers is another, and Morrison has checked that box as well.
The Aggies not only powered through their first championship season. Four standouts from that national ****** le team are now preparing for their second professional seasons. Their progress shows that Texas A&M can win at the highest level and can also produce athletes with staying power in the professional ranks.
Logan Lednicky, Maddie Waak, Ifenna Cos Okpalla, and Morgan Perkins are all beginning their second seasons in League One Volleyball.
Lednicky and Waak are moving from Houston to Salt Lake. Cos Okpalla is moving from Salt Lake to Houston. Perkins will play her first season in League One Volleyball with Minnesota after spending her rookie year with the San Diego Mojo of Major League Volleyball.
Their continued rise reflects the foundation Morrison and his staff have built. Texas A&M is developing championship-level athletes who are capable of thriving in the next stage of their careers.

TROY, N.Y. — As he typically does, Howie Rose struck the perfect chord in a pre-recorded video message shared here at the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony Sunday night.
"It's impossible to have a New York State Hockey Hall of Fame and not include Nicky Fotiu," the former New York Rangers broadcaster, and current Voice of the Mets, said.
That issue, as it were, was laid to rest this weekend, when the popular Staten Island-born former Rangers forward was inducted with the rest of the Class of 2026. Fittingly, he was enshrined alongside his Blueshirts teammate from the 1970s and '80's Don Maloney, and 1994 Stanley Cup-winning Rangers general manager Neil Smith.
"Now, it's all done. Signed, sealed, delivered," Fotiu told Forever Blueshirts, wearing a big smile. "New York State Hall of Fame. Staten Island Hall of Fame. Rangers Hall of Fame. I'm running out of Hall of Fames!"
Now 74 years old, Fotiu still has a lot of that kid left in him — the one who plays practical jokes, tells great stories, is everyone's friend, and loves the Rangers. He grew up sitting in the blue seats — remember them? — way up high at Madison Square Garden,. and never forgot his roots. Before every home game at MSG during his two tenures with the Rangers, he'd throw pucks up to the fans seated in the blues.

While the big names in the MLB draft are all gone after the first day (or essentially committed to going to or back to college next year), there are future big leaguers every year in the second or third day of the draft. Recent Royals draft picks outside of the first 150 picks in the last decade to make it to the big leagues include David Sandlin, Noah Cameron, Anthony Veneziano, Noah Murdock, Vinnie Pasquantino, Tyler Tolbert, Austin ******* , Jonathan Heasley, Nate Eaton, Tyler Zuber, Brewer Hicklen, Nicky Lopez, and Richard Lovelady.
Can anyone from today join them? Only time will tell, but let's not forget: being drafted at all is an incredible achievement. Only 5% of the roughly 10,000 draft-eligible NCAA baseball players every year are selected by an MLB team.
McElvain transferred from Vanderbilt and moved completely to the bullpen, where he threw 38.1 innings, struck out 34.4% of batters, and had a 1.88 ERA. He stands at a hefty 6' 4", 250 lbs. Rated by MLB as the 144th-best prospect in the draft.
Another bullpen arm, LeGuernic is young to be drafted as a junior—he doesn't turn 21 until October—and had a 4.69 ERA in 19 games. Rated by MLB as the 220th-best player in the draft.
A starting pitcher, Vigue started 16 games for the Bulldogs with a 4.43 ERA against tough SEC competition. Rated by MLB as the 201st-best player in the draft.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Wyatt Langford lined a shot off the wall in left field to bring home Alejandro Osuna in the ninth inning, lifting Texas to a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels after the Rangers blew a five-run lead Thursday night.
Langford struck out three of his first four times up as the designated hitter after getting activated from the 10-day injured list the first day the outfielder was eligible after dealing with a left hamstring strain.
Osuna led off the ninth with a single and went to second on pinch-hitter Nicky Lopez's sacrifice bunt. Langford lined a 1-1 fastball from former Texas closer Kirby Yates (0-4) over Jose Siri's head for the winning single.
Jo Adell had a tying pinch-hit single to cap a five-run seventh a night after homering twice in the Angels' 13-1 victory.
Cole Winn (4-2) got Adell on a sharp liner to center field to end the ninth with the potential go-ahead run at third after replacing All-Star closer Jacob Latz, who went 1 2/3 innings in his first outing in nine days.

Nicky Campbell says his daughter Lilla is recovering at home after she was badly injured in an e-bike hit-and-run in Peckham, south London.
The Long Lost Family presenter said Lilla, 26, was out with her sisters when she was hit. Campbell wrote that the rider left after an ambulance arrived and a crowd gathered, and he said he hoped CCTV would help identify the person involved.
The crash has drawn new attention after the Daily Mail reported that e-bike riders were still running red lights at the Peckham crossing where Lilla was hit.
Campbell has not said the crossing caused the crash. His post focused on Lilla's injuries, the rider leaving the scene, the hospital care his daughter received, and his family's relief that she was back home.
Campbell wrote on Instagram that it had been "a long and emotional night" after Lilla was hit by an e-bike in Peckham.

MIAMI (AP) — Sandy Alcantara set the franchise career record for strikeouts and won his fifth consecutive start in June, leading the Miami Marlins to a 6-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
Alcantara (8-4), who allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings, struck out Kyle Higashioka in the seventh inning to surpass Ricky Nolasco for the most strikeouts in club history with 1,002.
The crowd of 9,971 gave Alcantara, who struck out four overall, an ovation and he tipped his cap to different sections of the stands. Alcantara's outing ended after he walked Nicky López on four pitches following the strikeout of Higashioka.
Alcantara allowed five hits through the first 3 2/3 innings then retired 11 straight. After allowing eight runs and 10 hits in a loss at Toronto on May 26, Alcantara has completed at least seven innings in three of his five starts in June.
Heriberto Hernández homered and doubled, while Joe Mack and Owen Caissie also went deep for the Marlins, who built a 6-1 lead before the Rangers mounted a comeback attempt.

The good thing about the punishing grind of an MLB season is it doesn’t allow a lot of time for wallowing. Just one day after the Mariners blew a winnable game in Detroit to drop a series against the lowly Tigers, they escaped with a win in Baltimore today in the series opener against the Orioles, 6-3. There were many aspects of this game that mirrored Sunday’s heartbreaking loss, but today the Mariners came out on top thanks to some timely challenges and a big blast from Josh Naylor.
Emerson Hancock was good, not great, today. The Achilles heel in Hancock’s breakout season – aside from some yucky peripherals on his fastball – has been his occasional command outages, something that’s plagued him since he was in the minors, although his struggles with command now seem to be more related to his expanded ******* nal, especially the devastating but finicky sweeper.
That sweeper got away from Hancock in the third: he hit Blaze Alexander to lead off the inning before getting it back to strike out Sam Huff looking on the pitch. But Hancock then lost the handle on his sinker to Taylor Ward, walking him on five pitches, and losing an eight-pitch battle with Gunnar Henderson to walk the bases full. A sacrifice fly from Pete Alonso brought home the first run of the game, but Hancock was able to cap the damage there, getting Colton Cowser to fly out harmlessly to end the Orioles threat.
It wasn’t pretty – Hancock was at 69 pitches by the end of the third before bouncing back with a six-pitch fourth – with Hancock missing his good secondaries, needing to lean heavily on the sinker today, a pitch that has a propensity to get hit hard; he almost doubled up his usage of the pitch today, but also had some extra velo on the sinker, which helped keep the ball finding gloves. The only tick against Hancock was his search for command cost him about an inning of work, going just five innings a day after the Mariners got just 5.2 innings out of their starter yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Mariners hitters struggled against Orioles rookie Trey Gibson (not to be confused with umpire “Power” Tripp Gibson), making a start in place of the injured Chris Bassitt. Gibson poounded the bottom of the zone, eliciting a bunch of weak-contact groundball outs. Finally, in the fifth, Dominic Canzone led off the inning with a single, and then with one out Jhonny Pereda hit a solid line drive single (101.2 mph exit velocity). Ryan Bliss, getting a start after Colt Emerson was a late scratch with back tightness and J.P. Crawford was placed on the 10-day IL after being hit in the hand by Public Enemy #1 Framber Valdez – did his job, knocking in the run with a sac fly. Pretty good, considering Bliss had been ferried to the ballpark with such little fanfare his bags didn’t even arrive (leading to a very cute exchange postgame where similar Short King Brad Adam offered to loan Bliss some of his clothes). Cole Young, pressed into leadoff duty, kept the pressure on, cashing in his Dollar Token o

Odessa A'zion is a hugger. The 25-year-old springs from a sofa on the rooftop terrace of the Chopard Suite at the Hôtel Martinez for a welcome embrace amid a dizzying 24 hours at the Cannes Film Festival. The night before, A'zion made her Cannes debut by hitting the Palais red carpet to face a crush of photographers while standing alongside actor Connor Swindells, French legend Isabelle Huppert and Chopard's Caroline Scheufele. They then made their way to Carlton Beach for a late night Chopard Trophy ceremony during which A'zion and Swindells were honored by Huppert as next-generation talents in front of Demi Moore, Chloe Zhao, Stellan Skarsgard, Ruth Negga, James Franco, Riley Keough, Nicky Hilton, Xavier Dolan and others. A'zion gave a speech — describing the experience as "really weird, crazy and surreal" — stayed for dessert and ducked out for a cameo at the hottest party in Cannes for her I Love LA co-star Jordan Firstman's directorial debut Club Kid. Then it was time for bed to get few hours of rest ahead of a full day of Chopard press to honor the occasion, accessorized by sparkling diamonds and a breathtaking view of the French Riviera over her shoulder. Post hug, The Hollywood Reporter spent 20 minutes with the Marty Supreme star to talk about her Cannes adventure, how Josh Safdie's film changed her life, what she learned from the backlash surrounding her Deep Cuts casting and why she's fiercely protective of her personal life.
