Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) has been a big winner this year, with the stock up more than 130% in 2026, as of the end of October. However, an announced deal to acquire Lumentum (NASDAQ: LITE) could be a game changer for what has already been a good story.
This deal is all about optical networking, as it will combine Marvell's leadership in optical interconnects with Lumentum's strength in lasers. Marvell called the deal a "once-in-a-generation opportunity to define and lead AI connectivity in the era of integrated optics," as it will provide the company with end-to-end design capabilities that will allow it to accelerate its time to market and solve the increasing complexity of scale-up and scale-out networks.
Missed AI's "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 16x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our ******* ysts, we're only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
Let's see what this could all mean for investors.
The two companies' optics technologies are very complementary. In an optical network, Marvell provides electronic components such as DSPs (digital signal processors) that prepare data to be converted into optical signals; transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) that convert light signals back into electrical signals; and silicon photonics (SiPho) engines that combine hundreds of components to improve the performance and energy efficiency of optical interconnects.

Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger is backing a startup that thinks AI's next bottleneck is not the accelerator. It is everything waiting for data to arrive.
Delos Data announced on September 15 that it raised more than $100 million to develop networking chips and software for increasingly heterogeneous AI data centers. Playground Global, where Gelsinger is a general partner, joined the round. Reuters reported that Delos is designing the network to work across different types of compute hardware rather than **** uming every accelerator comes from NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA).
That makes Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) an important read-through even though AMD is not an investor in Delos.

Nvidia does not dominate AI simply because its GPUs are fast. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) sells a tightly integrated system of accelerators, networking, interconnects and software. That makes large clusters easier to deploy and gives customers fewer reasons to mix architectures.

NBIS revenue surged 454% to $582M with a $37.49B contracted backlog, while ALAB posted its eighth straight EPS beat on 104% revenue growth.
GPUs are worthless without high-speed interconnects, making cables, switches, and optical modules the AI industry's most critical and most overlooked bottleneck.
CRDO plunged 42% last month despite delivering 114.7% revenue growth and guiding for over 85% full-year growth in fiscal 2027.

The interconnect layer beneath AI clusters is the current bottleneck. GPUs are useless if they cannot exchange gradients and tokens at line rate, and the cables, switches, retimers, and optical modules that carry that traffic have become the constraint the industry is racing to relieve. One data point frames the pressure: (NASDAQ:ALAB) said PCIe 6 products already made up more than 50% of its total revenue in Q2, up from one third in Q1, evidence that the connectivity generation shift is happening in quarters, not years.

On September 2, Michael Genovese from Rosenblatt Securities reiterated his Neutral rating for Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO). The **** yst increased his price target for the stock from $215 to $235, which implies upside potential of almost 38% as of September 4 closing. Genovese's upward adjustment in price target in based on the company's recently announced Q1 FY27 results, leading him to increase his projections for FY27 and FY28. Despite that, he has a Neutral stance because he still wants more visibility around the company's ZeroFlap Optical Transceivers proof points, as well as the incremental revenues from its acquisition of Dust Photonics in May.
Photo by Yogesh Phuyal on Unsplash
Credo's acquisition of DustPhotonics gives it a vertically integrated connectivity stack covering DSP, silicon photonics, SerDes and system integration. This allows the company to tap into both optical and electrical interconnects across the entire AI infrastructure buildout. Together with its optical DSPs and ZeroFlap transceivers, the deal is expected to be a key growth driver in FY27, supported by resilient hyperscale customer sentiment.
Following the DustPhotonics transaction, Credo reported a strong first quarter for FY27. Topline of $479 million jumped 115% compared to Q1 in FY26. Adjusted non-GAAP net income of $236.3 million was up 140% year-over-year, as the company broadens its connectivity portfolio stack. It now spans copper and optical solutions, ranging from millimeters to kilometers, which enables Credo to meet the scaling needs of AI infrastructure with energy-efficient and reliable products.
For FY27, Credo expects a strong inflection with optical revenues expected to exceed $600 million. Management projects contributions over $100 million each from silicon photonics, ZeroFlap optics, and optical DSPs. Full-year revenue growth is expected to be over 85% year-over-year. Adjusted gross margins are likely to remain consistent with fiscal 2026 levels, along with adjusted net margins of around 50%.

Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) has delivered a standout performance among semiconductor stocks so far in 2026. The first catalyst arrived earlier this year in the form of a $2 billion investment from Nvidia -- bolstering a partnership that aims to deepen the technical collaboration between the two chip companies around interconnects and photonics.
This endorsement was amplified in June after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang publicly ***** erted that Marvell could become the next trillion-dollar artificial intelligence (AI) chip company. With Marvell shares up more than 160% year to date and with its second-quarter earnings scheduled for Aug. 27, some investors may be wondering whether Marvell stock is still a buy.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Consensus estimates among ***** ysts point to revenue of approximately $2.7 billion, which would amount to 35% growth year over year. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) are expected to be $0.93, an increase of roughly 39%. Sustained growth at this scale implies Marvell has secured meaningful traction in custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), high-speed networking, and optical connectivity from AI hyperscale operators.
Attempting to time your buys right before or after an earnings release is not a sustainable investment strategy in the long run. The stock market prices a wide range of possible outcomes into shares ahead of such high-profile events, and the moves that follow an earnings report frequently are driven more by management's guidance and commentary than by the headline numbers themselves. Using a strategy of dollar-cost averaging avoids this noise because it spreads your purchases across multiple periods, reducing the impact of short-term volatility on your average purchase price.

When someone asks me to name the best semiconductor stock to buy for now and the next few years, my answer is Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). I look at plenty of other chip names, including Broadcom and Advanced Micro Devices, yet I keep coming back to Nvidia because it sits at the center of how artificial intelligence (AI) is built and used, not just at the edge of the hardware market.
The core of the story is Nvidia's data center business. In the most recent fiscal year (ended Jan. 25, 2026), Nvidia reported quarterly data center revenue of $62.3 billion, up 75% year over year, and full-year data center sales are expected to be in the neighborhood of $180 billion. These are massive numbers and show that data centers are the main engine for the company. When hyperscalers and enterprises decide how many AI clusters to build, they start with Nvidia's platform, then layer everything else around it.
Continue »
The company's platform is not just about a single AI chip. The company's Blackwell architecture connects hundreds of billions of transistors, custom interconnects, and massive pools of memory into unified graphics processing units (GPUs), then scales those GPUs into rack-level systems like GB200 and GB300 that act like giant accelerators. On top of those systems sit DGX SuperPODs, Grace CPUs, and software like CUDA and TensorRT that developers already know and trust. When I picture the AI factories that companies are building, I see Nvidia in the center of the blueprints.
All the above is the technical side. The psychological side matters, too. Nvidia has become the default AI stock for many investors. It is the ticker people think of when they hear about new models, new data centers, or new AI enterprise rollouts. **** ysts often mention Nvidia first when discussing AI infrastructure, and the stock still carries a broad buy rating and targets pointing to meaningful upside from current levels. That attention can create volatility, yet it also means the company gets a steady stream of capital and scrutiny, which pushes management to keep delivering.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:KEYS) delivered a fiscal third quarter that made AI testing look increasingly central to its growth story. Revenue increased 36.5% to $1.846 billion, while non-GAAP earnings rose 79% to $3.07 per share and exceeded consensus estimates. Management forecast fourth-quarter non-GAAP earnings of $3.34 to $3.40 per share and revenue of $1.93 billion to $1.95 billion, both above consensus estimates. Shares gained nearly 5% after hours on August 18.
The question is whether Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:KEYS) is entering a durable expansion or benefiting from a concentrated wave of AI data-center investment. Orders increased 56% to $2.091 billion, marking the second consecutive quarter above $2 billion and extending visibility beyond revenue already recognized.
Communications Solutions Group revenue reached $1.345 billion, up 43% on a reported basis and 36% on a core basis. Keysight's core measure excludes currency effects and acquisitions or divestitures completed during the preceding 12 months. Commercial communications revenue surged 56% to $1.006 billion, while aerospace, defense and government revenue rose 14%. Electronic Industrial Solutions Group revenue increased 21%.
Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:KEYS) participates across the AI infrastructure development process, from pre-silicon design and chip validation to testing transceivers, high-speed networks, servers and complete data-center systems. Faster interconnects and more complex architectures create additional validation requirements at each stage.
That breadth means Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:KEYS) is not dependent on the commercial success of one chip or networking product. Customers must test compatibility, performance, power efficiency, and security as systems move from design into deployment. Those requirements can continue through successive hardware transitions even as leadership changes among individual suppliers.

Varex Imaging Corporation (NASDAQ:VREX) surged 48.5% to $18.42 on August 10 after Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) agreed to acquire the X-ray technology company for $18.90 per share in cash. The offer represents a 52% premium to Varex's unaffected closing price and values the transaction at approximately $1.1 billion, including equity awards and net debt.
Teledyne shares slipped just 0.15%, suggesting investors did not view the premium as an immediate threat to shareholder value. Varex closed about 2.5% below the offer, representing approximately 2.6% upside to the deal price. The narrow spread shifts the debate from whether Varex Imaging Corporation (NASDAQ:VREX) was undervalued to whether Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) can earn an adequate return.
The strategic fit is visible. Varex Imaging Corporation (NASDAQ:VREX) fills specific gaps in Teledyne's imaging portfolio. Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) has cited anticipated synergies but has not quantified them or disclosed expected EPS accretion or return targets.
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) is not paying primarily for Varex's current growth rate. It is acquiring technologies and customer relationships that could deepen its position across medical, security, and industrial imaging.
Varex produces X-ray tubes, flat-panel detectors, photon-counting detectors, high-voltage interconnects, and imaging software used by equipment manufacturers. These components support medical diagnostic systems, oncology equipment, cargo inspection, vehicle scanning, and industrial quality control.

Wall Street has been fretting over a potential AI bubble burst and whether huge AI spending by companies would ever pay off. But Cathie Wood is doubling down. Ark recently bought 80,000 shares of Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) across five funds. Ark also decreased its stake in Roblox (NYSE: RBLX).
Nvidia bears say AI infrastructure spending is running too hot and will eventually slow. That will directly impact Nvidia as its GPU sales will slow down.
Bulls say that fear misses the point. Nvidia's data center networking revenue jumped nearly 200% year over year last quarter. That shows Nvidia is capturing value beyond the GPU itself, through racks, interconnects, and software. Roughly half of data center revenue now comes from AI cloud, industrial, enterprise, and sovereign customers rather than the handful of hyperscalers everyone watches closely. Combined, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet plan to spend up to $725 billion this year, up 77% year over year, and Nvidia is positioned to capture 35% to 40% of that.
The bear case is about the balance sheet, not the growth rate. Nvidia's inventories more than doubled year over year, and prepaid expenses grew over 40%, as the company locks up more supply commitments to protect delivery timelines. Three customers make up 30%, 18%, and 16% of Nvidia's accounts receivable, so any shift by a major buyer toward custom chips would hit hard. Non-marketable securities, mostly stakes in AI startups and infrastructure partners, now make up 17% of Nvidia's total ****** ets.

Emerald Wealth Partners, an independent ******* et and wealth management firm based in Zurich, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "Focused Equity Strategy." A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Strategy reported a 0.8% gross return for the second quarter of 2026. Equity markets rallied after the first quarter's Iran shock faded and oil prices reversed their spike, but the advance remained narrow and concentrated in cyclical semiconductor and memory stocks benefiting from supply constraints. The letter warned that investors were treating peak-cycle earnings as durable, while FOMO, IPO demand, and a US cyclically adjusted P/E ratio near 40 pointed to late-cycle market behavior. Long-term fundamentals are currently undervalued by the market, leading to underperformance in the strategy, notably due to the portfolio's avoidance of low-quality momentum-driven semiconductor stocks, which boosted the benchmark this quarter. It remains focused on enterprise infrastructure, digital platforms, custom silicon, and networking businesses that hold customer relationships, workflow data, distribution, and efficiency advantages, which could allow them to monetize AI rather than be displaced by it. Please review the Strategy's top five holdings for its key selections.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Emerald Wealth Partners Focused Equity Strategy highlighted Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO). Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO), a leading American company that designs and develops various semiconductor devices and infrastructure software solutions, contributed 64 bps to the strategy's performance during the quarter. "Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO) added 64 bps, its 22.3% share price climb helped by the news OpenAI has selected the company to design its custom inference chip. Broadcom is the dominant designer of custom AI silicon: it has long co-designed Google's Tensor Processing Units, which power Gemini and some of Anthropic's inference capacity through Google Cloud. Few companies possess the engineering depth to develop bespoke accelerators at hyperscale. AI spending is shifting from training models to running them, where custom chips deliver materially better performance per watt and a lower cost per token than Nvidia's general purpose GPUs. Under Hock Tan, one of the industry's ablest capital allocators, the company has ******* embled two further pillars that sit at the center of the AI buildout: It dominates the Ethernet switching silicon that interconnects AI clusters — content that grows with cluster size, whether those clusters run on Nvidia
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Emerald Wealth Partners Focused Equity Strategy highlighted Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO). Broadcom Inc. Emerald Wealth Partners, an independent ***** et and wealth management firm based in Zurich, released its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "Focused Equity Strategy." A copy of the letter can be downloaded here.

The physical infrastructure enabling artificial intelligence requires considerably more than just high-performance accelerators and primary grid connections. It also relies on millions of high-density connectors, backplane interconnects, and power-filtering devices to connect rack-level structures, areas where TE Connectivity plc (NYSE:TEL) holds a significant bottleneck position. As hyperscalers and enterprise data center operators ramp up capital expenditure deployment around the world, demand for critical electrical connector systems has transformed from a passive secondary tailwind to a direct beneficiary of the AI growth cycle.
The company's fiscal third-quarter 2026 report showed this demand in real time, with record top-line performance, order velocity, and profitability. Despite exceeding Wall Street expectations in every fundamental indicator, shares fell roughly 7% following the release, indicating the market's focus on sequential forecast trends over historical trailing figures.
Operational execution in the third quarter set new highs across numerous business areas. Net revenue increased 14% year-over-year to $5.16 billion, above Wall Street expectations by more than 3%. Adjusted earnings per share rose 22% year-over-year to $2.94, exceeding the average estimate of $2.85. The report's defining metric was order flow, which increased 27% year-over-year to a record $5.7 billion, reflecting over $1 billion in incremental booking expansion vs. the prior year period. Meanwhile, profitability increased significantly, with adjusted operating margins improving 90 basis points to 22% and quarterly free cash flow totaling $883 million.
The underlying sector distribution highlights where AI momentum is growing the fastest. Industrial Solutions revenue increased 22% year-over-year to $2.58 billion, driven mainly by data center rack deployments and energy infrastructure growth. Chief Executive Officer Terrence Curtin stated that AI cloud momentum is far above initial multi-year predictions, with data center connection and power distribution orders rising more than 70% year-to-date.
Moreover, to back up its power-handling portfolio, TE Connectivity plc (NYSE:TEL) signed a $1.4 billion formal agreement to acquire Astrodyne TDI. The acquisition includes specialized power management and electromagnetic filtering solutions for critical industrial, semiconductor, and defense applications, providing approximately $250 million in annual revenue to the Industrial Solutions segment once completed.

ASMPT Limited (OTC:ASMVY) is one of the fastest-growing high-bandwidth memory stocks to buy. The company sharpened its HBM relevance on June 8, 2026, when it announced a repeat order for eight chip-to-wafer Thermo-Compression Bonding tools from a leading global integrated device manufacturer. ASMPT said the order followed the customer's use of its Firebird TCB tools in high-volume manufacturing since 2024, giving the update more weight than a routine product showcase.
TCB is important in HBM and advanced AI packaging because memory stacks, logic dies, and substrates require precise, high-yield interconnects as chip designs move deeper into 2.5D and 3D integration. The update also fits ASMPT's recent financial momentum. In Q1 2026, revenue rose 32.0% year over year to $507.9 million, while bookings increased 71.6% to $727.0 million. ASMPT remains an equipment supplier rather than a memory producer, but its bonding tools are closely tied to the manufacturing constraints of HBM, AI accelerators, and chiplet-based packaging.

Vertiv Holdings Co (NYSE:VRT) is one of the best AI networking stocks to buy according to **** ysts. The company gave investors a fresh AI infrastructure angle on June 1, when it announced progress on a production-grade digital twin capability for Vertiv SmartRun integrated into the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint.
The system is designed to make AI factory infrastructure more configurable, repeatable, and simulation-ready, with Vertiv saying it can help design, simulate, and validate power, cooling, controls, and deployment workflows as a single system before build-out. That matters for AI networking because high-speed interconnects and dense accelerator clusters only work if the surrounding power and thermal infrastructure can support them at scale. Vertiv also said the SmartRun digital twin is the first phase of a multi-phase AI factory digital twin roadmap, aimed at narrowing the gap between accelerated compute innovation and physical infrastructure readiness.

The company added another data-center infrastructure update on June 3, when it introduced Vertiv PurgeRite NearZero, a fluid management service for commissioning closed-loop hydronic systems in data centers and other mission-critical environments. Vertiv said selected deployments reduced total water consumption by up to 78%, water haul-off volumes by up to 91%, and discharge management costs by as much as 34%.
