Justin Greaves etched his name into Test cricket history with a sensational spell against Pakistan, becoming the first bowler in recorded Test history to deliver five consecutive wicket-maidens during the opening Test in Tarouba, Trinidad.

The West Indies all-rounder produced a devastating burst on Day 3 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, turning the match on its head after Pakistan appeared well placed in their first innings. Greaves finished with career-best figures of 5/27 from 11 overs, with all five wickets coming in five successive maiden overs without conceding a single run. It was also the 31-year-old's maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

Pakistan resumed the day trailing West Indies' first-innings total of 311 and looked to be building a strong reply through Shan Masood and Salman Agha. The pair safely negotiated the opening hour before Shamar Joseph broke the stand by bowling Agha.

What followed was one of the most remarkable spells in recent Test history.

Greaves dismissed centurion Shan Masood for 109 when the Pakistan batter chopped the ball back onto his stumps. He then removed Aamer Jamal with a delivery that jagged back sharply before trapping Ali Usman leg-before for a duck in the very next over.

Pakistan's hopes rested on Mohammad Rizwan, but Greaves forced the wicketkeeper-batter into flashing at a wide delivery, resulting in an edge behind. In the first over after lunch, he completed his five-wicket haul when Mohammad Abbas poked outside off stump and was caught behind.

The astonishing burst triggered a dramatic collapse, with Pakistan losing five wickets for just 15 runs before eventually being bowled out for 282, handing West Indies a first-innings lead of 29.

Greaves' feat surpassed the previous record of four consecutive wicket-maidens, achieved by former England fast bowler Stuart Broad against South Africa in Johannesburg in January 2016.

The spell not only marked Greaves' maiden Test five-for but also ensured his name entered the record books with an achievement never before seen in available Test records.

Sillinger, 23, has an arbitration hearing July 27 in Toronto, where Blue Jackets president/general manager Don Waddell and Greaves finally reached a $15 million pact less than an hour before a July 23 hearing. Fantilli, 21, is vacationing in Italy while his agent, Pat Brisson, continues talks with Waddell during the star center's first dabble in restricted free agency.
Waddell, who has roughly $17 million left in salary-cap ****** e, is confident both deals will get done without too many snags, starting with Sillinger.
"We've made progress from both sides, so I'm pretty confident we'll get that resolved before [July 27]," Waddell said. "They want to make a deal. We want to make a deal."

FOX Sports viewers mercilessly called out play-by-play commentator Darren Fletcher and ******* yst Owen Hargreaves after the pair repeatedly insisted that Lamine Yamal had yet to find the net at the World Cup.
On Friday, Yamal and Spain booked their place in the World Cup semifinals with a 2-1 victory over Belgium, a match in which Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois struggled to hold back tears as he was forced off through injury. Throughout the closely-fought contest, Fletcher and Hargreaves maintained that the 18-year-old sensation had still not scored during this year's tournament.
Turning to social media, viewers were quick to highlight that Yamal had netted in the 10th minute of Spain's 4-0 demolition of Saudi Arabia during the Group Stage. "Somebody needs to tell the commentators on FOX that Lamine Yamal has a goal in this World Cup," one X user wrote, with another adding: "Is the fox commentator dumb or something? He's said twice that Lamine Yamal is still looking for his first world cup goal."

Darren Fletcher spoke for millions of soccer fans around the globe with his commentary about VAR during Tuesday’s round-of-16 FIFA World Cup match between Switzerland and Colombia in Vancouver.
Colombia players were livid with referee Iván Arcides Barton Cisneros for not calling a penalty just over two minutes into extra time after Jáminton Campaz drew contact from Switzerland’s Miro Muheim. And on the Fox broadcast, Fletcher made it clear that he thought the play was at least “worth a look” from video **** istant referee (VAR) Guillermo Pacheco.
“I’ll tell you what,” Fletcher, the Fox play-by-play announcer, said. “I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what.”
“He’s late,” Fox color commentator Owen Hargreaves interjected, and Fletcher agreed.

Former Florida baseball pitcher Logan Shore has been selected to the 2026 UF Athletic Hall of Fame class.
Shore starred on the mound for the Florida Gators from 2014-16, helping pitch UF to back-to-back College World Series trips in 2015 and 2016. He still ranks second all-time among Florida pitchers in wins (30) and seventh in strikeouts (248), while holding opponents a .231 average during his UF carer.
A ******* Rapids, Minnesota native, Shore earned SEC freshman of the year honors in 2014, when he went 7-4 with a 2.16 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings.
In 2016, Shore won SEC pitcher of the year and was a Golden Spikes Award finalist, going 12-1 with a 2.31 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 105 1/3 innings.
Shore will be honored at a banquet at the F Club on October 9, the night before Florida football's homecoming game against South Carolina. He will join a class that includes gymnast Bridget Sloan, softball player Kelsey Stewart, men's basketball players Vernon Maxwell and Andrew Moten and football player Vernon Hargreaves III.

NORTH SOUND, Antingua (AP) — Justin Greaves and Shai Hope compiled centuries and guided West Indies to 406-5 in reply to Sri Lanka’s 549-9 declared on the fourth morning of the second test on Monday.
Greaves was 131 not out at lunch beside captain Roston Chase on 8. The West Indies trailed by 143 runs.
The Sri Lanka bowlers continued to toil on a placid pitch and prised out only Hope, who was stumped on 112 in bizarre fashion close to lunch.
Hope tried to pad away left-arm spinner Sonal Dinusha’s length ball down the leg side but missed and in the process came out of his crease. Wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis couldn’t collect the ball cleanly but it ricocheted onto the stumps after hitting his gloves.
Hope hit 10 boundaries and dominated not only the pacers but also Prabath Jayasuriya by using his feet well against the spinner.
