John Barrowman's expensive flight from Los Angeles to London took a turbulent turn before he even reached his destination. The "Doctor Who" actor posted a video from American Airlines' business class cabin complaining about missing pajamas, an incorrect meal order and what he described as "shady" customer service. However, his attempt to hold the airline accountable quickly backfired as social media users accused the 59-year-old performer of acting like a "diva."
Eroteme / MEGA
Barrowman filmed himself from his seat while his father and husband were seated behind him. "Hi American [Airlines] we have paid for the flagship service," the Scottish-American actor began.
He explained that the three travelers expected to receive pajamas after purchasing costly business class tickets. "My father and my husband behind and the tickets were very expensive and we get on thinking we'd get pajamas with the flagship service," Barrowman said.
The actor claimed that complimentary sleepwear was instead distributed only to certain passengers at the front of the cabin. "Then you apparently only give them to the first two rows in business class. What's that all about?" he asked. "So far you're not batting very high."

NEW YORK (AP) — Nearly 200 activists in Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" movement are criticizing President Donald Trump's promotion of coal to fuel the rise of artificial intelligence data centers, according to a letter sent Friday.
The letter, signed by at least two former staffers from Kennedy's 2024 presidential campaign, marks the first major MAHA movement mobilization over fossil fuels and the latest in a series of rifts between the diverse group of activists and the Trump administration over environmental policy.
The letter to Trump, Kennedy and various other Cabinet officials, first obtained by The ******* ociated Press, laments a 2025 executive order that aimed to boost coal to power data centers over pollution concerns and asks the administration to consider renewable options, including solar and geothermal energy.
"We understand the importance of American leadership in artificial intelligence, national security, innovation, and economic growth," the letter reads. "But American AI leadership should not come at the cost of a more toxic burden for American children."
In response, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers noted that greenhouse gas emissions dropped to a 30-year low during Trump's first term and said Trump "was given a mandate to roll back the radical climate policies that are burning a hole through taxpayers' wallets."

Danny Trejo leads Aspercreme's "KO Boomer" campaign
For Danny Trejo, age is just a number.
"I ain't ready to cash in my chips yet," the 82-year-old Machete star declared over a recent Zoom call. "One of the most important things is staying active."
That youthful ****** for life became one of the driving factors behind Trejo's newly-announced role as brand ambassador for Opella's pain relief ointment Aspercreme (one of the leading lidocaine brands in the United States).
"When you live hard, you're gonna get sore—I don't care how old you are," he explained. "I'm still doing action movies at 82, so believe me, I feel it. But a tough guy can't be walking around smelling like a medicine cabinet. That's why I use Aspercreme—it really works to target my pain, and there's no weird smell. SACRAMENTO — Xavier Becerra is keeping people guessing.
The presumptive next leader of California traced a circuitous path through the state's most chaotic governor race in a generation. He was not the first or second or even third or fourth choice of most Democratic kingmakers, prevailing over a fractured field after better-positioned candidates either passed on running (Kamala Harris, Alex Padilla) or imploded (Eric Swalwell). Becerra effectively punched his ticket to lead America's largest state — a progressive bastion, a Democratic bellwether and a national launching pad — by winning 28 percent of primary voters.
Now, as Sacramento prepares for Becerra's all but inevitable ascension, the elected officials, lobbyists, and corporate and labor leaders who shape policy in one of the nation's most consequential capitals are grappling with a contradiction: Despite Becerra's decades in public service, no one seems to be quite sure what he'll do with the biggest job of his career. And the ambiguity seems to be by design.
"I can make some really big promises. But that doesn't get us anywhere — it may get us elected, but I would prefer not to run on inflated promises that I can't deliver on," Becerra told POLITICO this week, subsequently telling reporters his caution was a product of hard-learned experience, like his time helping to lead the White House's response to the Covid-19 pandemic: "When I was dealing with Covid, I could not say 'I'm going to get you all the ventilators you need,' because I didn't want people to say — 'you promised them, (and) because you didn't bring them, these people died."
He remains something of a cipher, even to some of California's most attentive political observers, despite having served at virtually every level of government. He rose from the state legislature to Congress to statewide office to a cabinet position in President Joe Biden's administration leading the Health and Human Services Agency.

Several alarming aviation incidents are making headlines, including a United flight headed to Phoenix that blew out a tire during takeoff at Chicago's O'Hare airport. It comes on the heels of the NTSB releasing a preliminary report detailing what went wrong on board July's Ryanair flight from Greece where a passenger was nearly sucked out of a broken cabin window. NBC's Erin McLaughlin reports for TODAY.

A jet engine fan blade on a Boeing 737 broke free and slammed into the side of the passenger cabin, breaking a window and leading to a man being partially sucked outside the aircraft, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a preliminary report on Thursday.
The July 10 Ryanair flight to Memmingen, Germany, had taken off less than 10 minutes earlier and was forced to return to Thessaloniki in Greece for an emergency landing.
The head and shoulders of 61-year-old Ljubisa Karovic, sitting in seat 11F, were sucked out the window, causing significant injuries, his wife told Reuters. She and the flight attendant pulled him back into the plane, she said.
Seven and a half minutes after takeoff, the pilots got a warning for high engine vibrations, according to the report. Nearly two minutes later, the vibrations increased significantly and pilots "heard a loud bang" as the autopilot disengaged.
A photo annotated by the NTSB shows damage to the side of the plane, including the missing window. - NTSB

American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) and easyJet plc (LON:EZJ) are facing the same industry-wide challenge: sharply higher fuel costs. Yet their latest earnings suggest they are responding in very different ways. American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) delivered record quarterly revenue as stronger pricing and premium demand offset part of the fuel shock, while easyJet's (LON:EZJ) profits plunged 70% despite continued operational improvements.
The key question for investors is whether American Airlines Group's (NASDAQ:AAL) pricing power or easyJet's (LON:EZJ) fuel-hedging strategy leaves either airline better positioned if elevated fuel costs persist.
The strongest argument in favor of American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) is the quality of its revenue growth. Total revenue rose 16.3% to a company-record $16.7 billion, while capacity increased only 5.4%. Passenger unit revenue improved across premium and Main Cabin products as well as domestic and every major international region. Premium passenger unit revenue increased 13.4%, Main Cabin passenger unit revenue rose 8.8%, and domestic passenger unit revenue advanced 10.6%. The gap between revenue growth and capacity growth suggests American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) generated a significant portion of its improvement through stronger pricing and higher revenue per available seat rather than simply flying more aircraft.
The recovery was also broad-based, extending across premium, Main Cabin, domestic, and international markets rather than relying on a single customer segment. That diversification is encouraging because it makes revenue growth less dependent on one area of demand while reinforcing management's strategy of prioritizing higher-value passengers through additional premium seating and fleet upgrades.
easyJet's (LON:EZJ) investment case rests less on pricing power and more on risk management. Although profits came under considerable pressure, non-fuel costs remained broadly in line with expectations, and approximately 72% of the airline's second-half fuel requirements had already been hedged. While management acknowledged that the remaining unhedged fuel exposure leaves the airline vulnerable to additional price increases, the hedge book provides an important buffer against near-term volatility.

American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) delivered a record second quarter, with revenue climbing 16.3% year over year to an all-time high of $16.7 billion as demand strengthened across premium, corporate, domestic, and international travel. Adjusted earnings of $0.15 per diluted share also topped Wall Street expectations.
However, an 83% surge in fuel expense largely offset those gains, highlighting the key question facing investors: can stronger commercial execution eventually overcome one of the industry's biggest cost headwinds?
The strongest argument in favor of American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) is the quality of its revenue growth rather than the headline number itself.
The broad-based improvement is also encouraging because it extended across premium, Main Cabin, domestic, and international markets rather than being concentrated in a single route or customer segment. Recoveries supported by multiple revenue streams tend to be more resilient, particularly if economic conditions soften or travel demand becomes less predictable.
American Airlines Group's (NASDAQ:AAL) premium strategy is becoming an increasingly important part of its investment case, as it continues to see momentum in its premium revenue performance due to strength in both corporate and premium leisure demand. This is particularly important for the investment case because premium and corporate customers generally generate more revenue per passenger than economy travellers. American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL) is supporting this strategy by adding premium seats through new Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR deliveries and retrofits of several existing aircraft types. Continued premium growth could improve the airline's revenue mix even if overall passenger growth moderates.

Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) has experienced strong AI-driven demand through 2026, helping offset its historical exposure to cyclical market downturns. Earlier, on July 16, Micron completed Strategic Customer Agreements with a group of automotive Tier 1 suppliers, a smaller but telling sign that its customer relationships are stretching longer and becoming more predictable across more than one industry.
The automotive agreements, completed with Qualcomm, Visteon, HARMAN, JOYNEXT, DENSO, Astemo and Hyundai Mobis, give Micron greater visibility into future memory and storage orders as vehicles add more advanced driver ******* istance and in-cabin computing power. Automotive platforms carry long production lifecycles and strict qualification standards, so locking in supply and pricing years ahead reduces the kind of order volatility that has hurt Micron during past downturns.
The bigger driver remains AI. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has lifted its 2026 outlay target to $220 billion, and Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) plans a $200 billion budget of its own, money that keeps flowing toward the memory chips inside AI servers. That demand already shows up in the numbers. In the nine months ended May 28, the first three quarters of fiscal 2026, Micron's revenue reached $79 billion, a 203% jump from the same stretch a year earlier, while net income hit $47 billion, a 60% net margin, versus just $5 billion the year before. ******* ysts expect revenue to grow 247% this fiscal year and another 85% in fiscal 2027, and Micron has pushed customers toward five-year price agreements instead of the one-year contracts that once left it exposed to sudden price swings.
Micron's stock climbed nearly 690% over the twelve months before peaking in June, then fell about 30% since, a pullback that reflects investors growing less willing to pay up for growth rather than any clear deterioration in the business. Some of that hesitation is historical memory. Memory chip supply has caught up with, and usually exceeded, demand in every prior upcycle, and when it has, prices and profits have reversed just as sharply as they rose. Competition adds to the risk. Beyond longtime rivals Samsung and SK Hynix, the Chinese firm ChangXin Memory Technologies could start turning out high-bandwidth memory before this year is out, a development that may chip away at the pricing power Micron currently enjoys. Early investors locking in gains after such a steep run have added to the selling as well.

Bruno Guimaraes is officially a Gunner! ******* nal announced the signing of the Brazilian midfielder on Saturday morning with the usual fanfare. The move makes the 28-year old the most expensive transfer for a midfielder over 26 (which is, admittedly, a little bit of a silly stat).
Bruno will wear the same number 39 kit that he did at Newcastle, which he wears because it was the number of his father's taxi in Brazil. It's a lovely nod to the hard work and sacrifices all parents do for their family. Despair all you kit number purists — ******* nal's midfield next season will be Zubimendi (36), Bruno (39), Rice (41), and Lewis-Skelly (49).
According to The Athletic, Edu and Tim Lewis had the outline of a deal in place for ******* nal to buy Bruno from Lyon in January 2022, but Mikel Arteta decided against the move, which gave Newcastle the chance to sign him instead. Nearly five years later, the Gunners will pay the Magpies £75M for their captain.
It's a solid deal for both clubs, which as Newcastle Sporting Director Ross Wilson emphasized, is what happens when you have two "sophisticated" parties negotiating. Newcastle say they didn't want to sell but that the combination of Bruno's desire to leave with the number ******* nal offered made it make sense. According to Wilson, ******* nal paid more than they wanted to for the Brazilian.
And ******* nal get their man. The success of the move from an ******* nal standpoint will be judged on the number of additions to the trophy cabinet over the next few seasons. It's a win-now move. That's fine. There are few transfer-available players in the world right now who unquestionably improve the Premier League Champions, and Bruno is one of them.

Management observed a persistent 'trade down' trend where consumers are opting for value products and paring back features in made-to-order categories.
New construction outperformance was driven by a flexible go-to-market model that combines direct builder relationships with distribution channels.

A business case for phase one of the Hereford bypass has claimed congestion in parts of the city could fall by up to 25%.
It also said journey times between the city centre and Rotherwas could reduce by an average of six-and-a-half-minutes.
Herefordshire Council decided to publish the full document ahead of work starting on the route, which will link the A49 and A465 south of the city.
Councillor Philip Price, cabinet member for transport and infrastructure, said: "One of the reasons we have produced a detailed business case is to demonstrate that the scheme represents good value for money."
About £45m has been put aside for the bypass, which will create an alternative route for vehicles to travel around the city.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have spent years trying to turn a modest island cabin into a showcase of Norwegian design — an ambitious renovation that stalled just as it was about to break ground. Now a storm named Amy has done what years of royal scandal couldn't: it forced their hands. The tempest tore apart one of the docks on Flatholmen, the tiny island the couple has owned since 2008. The damage has produced the first real building permit the property has seen in years — not for the glass-and-timber dream house long promised, but for a humble pier.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette- Marit at Nordstu- Solberg farm in 2024 (Getty Images)
According to Norwegian outlet TV2, the municipality of Risør has cleared the crown prince and princess to rebuild the storm-wrecked dock. It's a modest approval, capped at six square meters, but it matters; without a working dock, the island is barely reachable, and any future revival of the couple's long-shelved architectural project would need one regardless.
The permit came with a catch. A companion request — for a seaside platform of the kind common along Norway's coast — was withdrawn after the state administrator recommended against it. The dock itself only cleared because of an unusual technicality: one of Flatholmen's existing moorings is used by police, which let the municipality authorize a second access point without setting a precedent for other landowners. Haakon and Mette-Marit will cover both the construction and the roughly $575 in municipal fees themselves. Notably, the original dock — built sometime between 1982 and 2004 — never had a formal permit at all, so this approval is being processed as new construction from scratch.

The rebound was supported by easing geopolitical tensions, lower oil prices, resilient earnings, and renewed strength in technology and AI-related stocks, with strong stock selection also aiding performance. The fund enters the second half with a measured outlook, citing uneven global growth, geopolitical risks, persistent inflation, and elevated borrowing costs as potential sources of volatility. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.

Ariel Small Cap Value Fund stated the following regarding Masco Corporation (NYSE:MAS) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
We added Masco Corporation (NYSE:MAS), the world's largest manufacturer of plumbing fixtures and a leading provider of paint in the United States. The company benefits from a portfolio of differentiated brands, including well-recognized leaders such as Behr paint, Delta faucets and Hansgrohe shower systems, alongside complementary offerings like AXOR premium faucets and KILZ primer. Following the divestiture of its more cyclical windows and cabinets businesses, Masco has sharpened its focus on higher-quality segments where it enjoys meaningful scale, strong brand equity and operational advantages. We expect these attributes combined with deep technical expertise and a well-established supply chain to support continued margin expansion in its core paint and plumbing businesses. Last week, new Prime Minister Andy Burnham held a meeting with his cabinet, and we caught a glimpse of Louise Haigh, who has secured the role of the First Secretary of State.
The Sheffield-born politician has a keen interest in fashion, and this was displayed as she was pictured wearing an iconic, past-season high-street dress from L.K.Bennett.

The 38-year-old donned the 'Lasa' blue poppy-print dress. The slightly body-conscious design has a silhouette-skimming cut and is instantly recognisable due to the smattering of blue poppies etched over the torso. Generosity is one of the few money decisions most people make without running the math first. You write the check because something moved you, and the arithmetic shows up later, if it shows up at all.
The ritual is familiar enough to be invisible. A donation goes out in December. A receipt comes back in January. The number lands on a tax return in April and then disappears into a filing cabinet until the next holiday season.
Nobody checks the second half of the trip. Where the money actually went after it left the account, who controlled it once it got there, and whether the group that cashed the check was the same group doing the work.
That is a lot of trust to extend to a form letter. Americans extended $617.20 billion in giving in 2025, the first year the total giving cleared $600 billion, according to Giving USA.
Washington has decided to start checking. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threw his weight behind a package of nonprofit disclosure bills last week, and the timing lands on the charitable deduction at the exact moment millions more filers are about to claim one.

The NCAA Division I Board of Directors doubled down Thursday on the new age-based eligibility rule that has prompted some athletes to go to court in hopes of extending their college careers.
The Division I Cabinet, which approved the new rule last month, issued a similar statement last month after a group of basketball players filed a lawsuit in an Ohio state court contending the age-based model unfairly shuts them out of further competition. More lawsuits have been filed across the country since, some of them reportedly with their coaches' encouragement.
The board statement indicates it won't budge from its stance like it did when, in response to former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia's 2024 court win, it granted an additional year to athletes who had competed at non-NCAA schools for at least one season and were set to complete their eligibility.
"We are encouraged by the Division I membership's broad support of the age-based eligibility rules," the board said Thursday. "The design of the new rules, including its implementation strategy, was thoughtful and well informed, and was unanimously supported by the Cabinet, including its student-athlete members.
"The Board has no plans to modify their application, notwithstanding a series of lawsuits recently filed on behalf of student-athletes with no remaining eligibility. We look forward to ensuring that the age-based eligibility rules are enforced consistently so that all institutions play by the same rules, like all participants in sports."

Juventus have picked up the telephone once again. According to reports coming out of Sport Mediaset, relayed by Transfer Feed, the Italian giants made fresh contact with Aston Villa regarding Emiliano Martinez shortly after the World Cup wrapped up. Turin has admired the 33-year-old Argentine stopper for a ***** long time now. This latest whisper suggests they haven't entirely given up the ghost just yet. Don't hold your breath though.
The very same report makes it abundantly clear that a move to Serie A is looking dead in the water. Why? Money, mostly. The financial demands floating out of Martinez's camp are described as astronomical. Combine that with Villa having zero reason to move him on, and you have a total non-starter. Unai Emery views the World Cup winner as an absolute cornerstone of his project at B6.
Looking back at the 2025/26 campaign, it is easy to see why. Martinez clocked up 32 Premier League appearances, bagging eight clean sheets and recording a 71.1% save percentage. He let in 37 goals across the domestic run while pulling off 96 saves, earning a solid 7.07 average match rating. Add a shiny Europa League winner's medal to the mantlepiece from that season too. He is pivotal. Plain and simple.
Villa Park bosses are sitting pretty. Martinez inked a fresh deal that keeps him tied to the West Midlands until June 2029. That puts every single card squarely in Villa's hands. They don't need the cash. They certainly don't want to lose their main man between the sticks. Crucially, the player himself hasn't thrown his toys out of the pram or demanded an exit. The real stumbling block here is his entourage.
Agent demands are currently knocking on doors that Juventus simply cannot open. The Old Lady has her own financial belt to tighten these days. Throwing silly money at inflated wage demands for a goalkeeper in his mid-thirties, no matter how decorated his trophy cabinet happens to be, is a gamble the Italian club just cannot afford right now.

A lot of things weren't on my bingo card coming into this week.
I didn't expect a billionaire tech founder to show me a lot of vintage supercars they just purchased. That was fun, I love cars.
Speaking of cars, I also didn't expect a $900 bill for a one-hour service on my new car. But hey, at least the dealership took a video of my car being worked on, sent it to me, and said they thought the car was beautiful. That makes shelling out $900 for some oil, wiper blades, a cabin filter, and expertly inflated tires a little more palatable.
From a market standpoint, I didn't anticipate further beatings in red-hot memory chip names like Micron (MU), Sandisk (SNDK), and IBM (IBM). All three could now be considered crashed-out tech stocks. But only one is dead money, given my many chats with experts.
That is IBM.

When the Dallas Cowboys shipped Micah Parsons off to the land of piney woods and squeaky cheese last summer, they didn’t quite know what they had left in the edge rush department. For years Parsons represented the position group to the highest degree, establishing himself as one of the best in the game. He was the alpha and the omega of the edge room and a player who made things easier for everyone around him. To make things even more unpredictable, Parsons' departure coincided with DeMarcus Lawrence's, pushing the Cowboys headfirst into the unknown.
Yet, the cabinet wasn’t empty. Sam Williams was an aspiring talent, Donovan Ezeiruaku looked like a draft steal and Dante Fowler was a double-digit sack mercenary, so there was hope things would work out. As luck would have it, things did not work out. All three aforementioned players underachieved one way or another and the Cowboys were left scrambling for answers, midseason.
Looking back, it was clear the timing was off on everything; from the time of the Parsons trade, to the testing of internal options, to the hunt for emergency solutions, everything seemed to be too little and too late.
In 2026, Dallas had a chance to fix things at edge rusher. They had a full offseason to strategize, they had money to spend in free agency, and they had picks in the draft. But instead of going all-in at edge rusher, they handled things modestly, adding Rashan Gary in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, drafting Malachi Lawrence in the first round, but largely banking on a scheme change to unlock roster carryovers.
Based on pure personnel, things look mildly better today than they looked at the beginning of last season, but it's not the level of attention many wanted from the home team. There’s a good chance the Cowboys are still one good pass rusher away from being complete and the clock is ticking.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stepped down on Sunday, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reshapes his Cabinet amid Russia's ongoing invasion of the eastern European country.
In a lengthy statement on social media, Zelensky said he and Svyrydenko determined they need to implement "personnel changes" to "ensure the implementation of the updated political strategy."
Zelensky added, "We determined that these changes require a renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers. I am grateful to [Svyrydenko] for her clear, steady, and effective work as Prime Minister, for her years of productive service on Ukraine's team, and I have offered her the opportunity to lead a new and important area of relations with a key partner."
The Ukrainian president, who has remained in office past the expiration of his term due to his declaration of martial law upon Russia's invasion in 2022, did not name the position he offered to Svyrydenko. He also noted there will "be changes among the heads of law enforcement agencies" in Ukraine.
Svyrydenko said Sunday she was "grateful" to Zelensky "for his trust and for his high ****** sment of our team's work" during her time in office.

In the current NIL era, with complete freedom of player movement and consistent waiver applications for extra eligibility based on injuries or playing time, the college sports world has been in crisis for several years. Fans have grown accustomed to seeing eighth-year seniors on their fourth college team competing against 18-year-olds. It has been clear for quite some time that change was needed.
That change came when the NCAA Division I Cabinet passed a monumental rule change in late June, sending shockwaves throughout the college sports world. The age-based eligibility system, known as the "5-for-5 rule," contains multiple stipulations aimed at stabilizing college athletics.
First, the rule grants all Division I athletes five years to complete five seasons. While the previous model was essentially five years to complete four seasons, the additional year eliminates redshirt loopholes and extended eligibility due to injury. It is now a straightforward five seasons for every athlete.
Second, the five-year clock begins upon high school graduation or an athlete's 19th birthday. Age-based eligibility is especially relevant in college basketball, where European players beginning their college careers in their early 20s have become increasingly common. Programs like Illinois have leaned into this strategy, bringing in older, more physically developed players to compete against what ***** Vitale might call "Diaper Dandies." Under the new model, players will be on more comparable timelines, which should help balance age disparities.
This shift could also impact reclassification among high school players, a common trend among top basketball recruits. With fewer advantages to starting the eligibility clock early, reclassifying may become less appealing.
