Texas A&M's back-to-back losses to USC in the College Station Regional weren't shocking, given the pitching struggles that haunted the Aggies throughout the regular season, and even though the offense scored 17 runs against Texas State, second-year coach Michael Earley's top three batters struggled at the plate when it mattered most.
However, after firing second-year pitching coach Jason Kelley, Earley hired former MLB pitching coach/coordinator Barry Enright to the position, resulting in two key transfer commitments from Wichita State transfer pitcher Johnny Nuanez, who finished the 2026 season with 6-2 with a 2.56 ERA over 56 1/3 innings and, on Sunday night, UNLV transfer HP Jase Evangelista, who was 4-1 with 64 strikeouts as a junior.
Already expected to land Texas State transfer RHP Wade Cooper, who will reportedly arrive on campus this Wednesday, On3 insider Pete Nakos also confirmed that fact, and after landing Clemson transfer C/OF Nate Savoie on Monday night, Michael Earley deserves credit for making significant progress this month.
Sources tell On3 that Cooper is set to arrive on a visit to Texas A&M on Wednesday. It was previously set for Monday. The Aggies are expected to land a commitment from the right-hander, who finished the season with a 4.72 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched with 73 strikeouts and five saves.
Likely set to lose star hitters Caden Sorrell, Gavin Grahovac, and Chris Hacopian, Earley will need to add a handful of veteran infielders/outfielders to pair with incoming sophomores Nico Partida, Boston Kellner, and Jorian Wilson after Savoie, Jack Bell, and Western Kentucky transfer infielder Lane Arroyos.

Mauricio Pochettino has the United States purring on home soil at the World Cup, fresh off a winning start that has eased the pressure on the host nation.
The Argentine has turned a team that crashed out of the 2024 Copa América into one that suddenly looks the part, and the federation's decision to gamble on a marquee coach is starting to look shrewd.
Landing him, though, was never simple business. Pochettino arrived on a deal worth several million dollars a year, and US Soccer could not cover that figure alone. Instead, the money came from a small group of private donors.
When Gregg Berhalter was dismissed in 2024, US Soccer wanted a marquee name to lead the team into a home World Cup. Paying for one was the harder part.
Unlike most national federations, the governing body receives no direct government funding, leaning instead on its own revenue, sponsorship and donations.

After missing out on Champions League qualification, record-time Serie A champions Juventus are preparing for a massive summer overhaul. Despite Dusan Vlahovic’s imminent departure, head coach Luciano Spalletti is particularly keen on reinforcing the midfield department.
Juventus desperately lacked creativity this past season. Not even a decent-looking average of 1.6 goals per game was enough to mask the problem. To better illustrate the depth of the issue, newly crowned champions Inter outscored the Bianconeri by a staggering 28 goals in Serie A.
Needless to say, heads are about to roll.
Once considered among the most reliable deep-lying midfielders in Serie A, Teun Koopmeiners joined Juventus from Atalanta in a €60 million deal in 2024. Fast forward two years, and the Dutch star looks set to leave Turin as a flop, with the club ready to cash in on the 28-year-old.
Khephren Thuram is unlikely to face the same fate, even though Inter have earmarked him as one of their potential targets to strengthen their midfield options. However, it’s hard to discard this transfer just yet, especially if Cristian Chivu’s charges fail to sign Roma talisman Manu Kone.

Arman Tsarukyan just can't see himself getting skipped over again in the ****** le queue at lightweight.
Tsarukyan (23-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC), long labeled the No. 1 contender in the UFC lightweight rankings, thinks the time has finally come for the belt. The Armenian fighter sees himself as the obvious answer for champion Justin Gaethje, who took the lightweight belt from Ilia Topuria in the main event of Sunday's UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.
"It has to be me. Who else?" Tsarukyan said on The Ariel Helwani Show. "What are they going to do? They're going to put Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje or Conor McGregor, if he wins, and I don't think he wins versus Max Holloway? It's me. I want to beat Justin Gaethje. I want to beat everybody, and when Ilia is going to be ready, I want to be the champion, and I'll do same as Justin did and even worse."
Like many, Tsarukyan was surprised to see Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) pull off the upset. Few were giving Gaethje a chance against Topuria. But unlike many, Tsarukyan found out about the fight result under peculiar circumstances.
"I couldn't watch the fight," Tsarukyan said. "I was flying on British Airlines, and I thought they were going to have internet. I was flying business class. They don't have Wi-Fi on that plane, and I was sitting and saying, 'No way. How can I miss this fight?,' and eight hours, I was thinking of what happened. When we land, my internet is still didn't work, but my friend's internet worked, and he said, 'Justin won,' and I said, 'What?' I thought he was kidding."

Investors naturally want simplicity. But in a world of rising inflation, geopolitical turmoil, and a stock market fueled by pandemic-era liquidity, **** et allocation and time allocation are more closely linked than ever.
Unlike our parents, who relied on defined pensions and stable social security, today's investors face structural headwinds. Furthermore, economic pressures on our children have created financial interdependencies. Nearly 40% of workers have taken loans or withdrawals from retirement accounts. This means time horizons for many are actively shortening.

If you missed it, mighty powerful Spain just got stopped, goalless, against the small, once-Portuguese territory and island of Cape Verde, one of the very few nations that shares Portuguese with Brazilians as their native tongue. On its side, several players who, while not born in the territory, are allowed to represent those nations due to the complicated history of citizenship and origin.
Steven Moreira is one of many MLS players competing in this year's World Cup. He plays for the Columbus Crew and has anchored the team's defense over the past year, making him one of the better fullbacks in the league, as seen today against the likes of Lamine Yamal. A surreal defensive ******* ignment, I'm sure Moreira could have never seen it coming, years ago, when he arrived in Columbus, Ohio. And with former MLS journeyman Jamiro Monteiro coming in as a substitute, Cape Verde did the unlikely and held the former World Champs to a 0-0 draw in the opening game.
Major League Soccer will have a record 44 active players competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the most players from any league in the Western Hemisphere. MLS has the second-most outside of Europe's big five leagues — English Premier League, Germany's Bundesliga, France's Ligue 1, Spain's La Liga, and Italy's Serie A.
19 players at this summer's FIFA World Cup 2026 will have spent time in MLS NEXT Pro, the league's developmental tier.
With this milestone, the US league surpasses Liga MX and becomes the league with the most players in the Western Hemisphere. This includes the Brasileirão, the Argentinian league, and any other league in the Western hemisphere.

ATLANTA (AP) — It took Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha 40 years to make his World Cup debut.
The wait was worth it.
Vozinha recorded seven saves Monday, holding Spain’s star-studded lineup to a shocking 0-0 draw Monday. The 40-year-old was everywhere as the Spanish team and its fans became increasingly frustrated, despite dominating possession and unleashing 27 shots. Not even the second-half entrance of young superstar Yamine Lamal could crack the code to get past Vozinha and the Cape Verde defense.
As the final whistle blew, Vozinha hunched over near his net and cried, before being embraced by his teammates. Cape Verde, in its first-ever World Cup match, had gotten a point off of Spain, one of the tournament favorites.
Vozinha said he was overcome by emotions thinking about his loved ones who were unable to see his finest performance: his grandparents who had raised him, and his mother. His grandparents died a few years ago. And his mother had been unable to gather the money in time to get a visa to enter the U.S., Vozinha said.

SEATTLE — Egypt will have to wait a little longer for its first World Cup win. Despite going up early against Belgium to kick off Group G play, the Red Devils were able to ****** back an equalizer against the Pharaohs after forcing an own goal in the second half.
Monday afternoon’s game marked the first World Cup match in Seattle Stadium (normally Lumen Field), with the matchup setting up a packed, red-decked crowd — the color of both team’s primary jerseys.
Eye test-wise, more of those red dots were Belgian fans. But the Egyptians were louder — and that was before Emam Ashour gave Egypt a 1-0 lead with a blast from outside the box in the 20th minute.
That unlocked something in the Egyptian fans in the crowd, who were overjoyed about going up early against a European giant. Belgium’s attack kept going throughout the end of the first half and into the second, but kept falling just short of a goal.
As it turns out, that last push came in the form of Romelu Lukaku, who subbed into the game in the 66th minute and forced an own goal from Mohamed Hany 20 seconds later.

The Chicago Cubs did not acquire Yosver Zulueta expecting a finished product, and if he were one, the Seattle Mariners probably would not have moved him in the first place.
What the Cubs appear to be doing is something they have grown increasingly comfortable with in recent years: betting on elite raw talent and trusting their pitching infrastructure to handle the rest. Zulueta is the latest example.
The hard-throwing right-hander arrived from Seattle for cash considerations and was immediately optioned to Triple-A Iowa. It looks like a minor transaction on the surface, and it may say something bigger about how the Cubs are building their pitching staff.
There is a reason teams keep giving Zulueta opportunities, because few pitchers can do what he does when everything is working. The 28-year-old has touched 100 mph during his professional career and features the kind of velocity that grabs the attention of scouts and front offices alike. His slider has long been viewed as a legitimate weapon too.
Put those ingredients together and it is easy to see why organizations keep believing there is more to unlock. Power arms are hard to find, and power arms with this much remaining upside are harder still.

Under normal circumstances, such a move would dominate market attention. This time, however, the rate decision may be only part of the story.
Investors are facing an unusual situation as Governor Kazuo Ueda is expected to miss the policy meeting and subsequent press conference due to hospitalization. While Deputy Governor Ryozo Himino will chair the meeting, Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida will deliver the post-decision briefing.

While many people seem to expect LeBron James to either remain with the Los Angeles Lakers or return to the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer, there is at least an outside chance he will join the Golden State Warriors. According to a recent report, Stephen Curry planned a meeting with LeBron James about possibly teaming up, and James has been good friends with both Curry and Draymond Green.
It is debatable whether there is any real chance of James signing with Golden State this summer. But writer and podcaster Bill Simmons seems absolutely sure it will happen.
"Before we get to Giannis [Antetokounmpo], LeBron, what happens with that is a good one," Simmons said. "This one is a really fun one because the Warriors is really in play now, like for real. I really feel like if I had to bet my life on a team, I'd think I would bet on them . . . I think that would be the move for me."
Simmons is a huge Boston Celtics fan and Lakers hater, so Lakers fans should likely take his statement with a grain of salt. Golden State can, in all likelihood, offer James only the non-taxpayer mid-level exception of roughly $15 million, unless they do a sign-and-trade with Los Angeles.
L.A., on the other hand, is poised to have tens of millions of dollars of salary cap ****** e, which means it could potentially offer the future Hall of Famer a max or near-max salary. He also, of course, has established roots in the Southland, and his son, Bronny, plays for the Lakers, while his other son, Bryce, is at the University of Arizona.

When George Pickens finally arrives to the offseason program, the Dallas Cowboys will rely heavily on franchise quarterback Dak Prescott to maintain the peace on the field and in the locker room. The Cowboys have two alpha males at wide receiver, Pickens, who's looking to improve their standing among league front offices, and Lamb, who looks to rebound from an injury and a drops-plagued 2025 season. Both will want the football more than ever, and it will be up to Prescott to keep both happy or risk derailing their 2026 hopes.
On defense, Dallas continues to be linked to Las Vegas Raiders edge Maxx Crosby. The Cowboys don't need to make the move for Crosby unless two things happen. Something injury-related happens, and they're desperate, or they've seen enough from the young edge rushers and decide they need another established edge opposite Rashan Gary. Both have yet to happen, and even if one did, the price the Raiders want could be more than Dallas is willing to pay.

The New York Knicks’ championship run had star power, resilience and, apparently, a little bit of luck from Jordyn Woods.
New York finally ended its long ******* le wait after beating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, with Jalen Brunson leading the way and Karl-Anthony Towns playing a huge role throughout the postseason.
But any championship run needs a few things to fall the right way. For Towns, one of those things came from his fiancée Woods, who turned one orange bag into an unlikely Knicks good-luck charm.
The story gathered steam during the Finals, with Woods’ orange bag named a Knicks lucky charm as fans leaned into the idea that New York could not lose when she brought it along.
Towns was asked about the bag during the Knicks’ appearance on Good Morning America, with Woods sitting in the audience and the now-famous accessory with her.

Although enforcement is delayed for companies investing in U.S. manufacturing, the policy has already prompted fast-tracked projects, price cuts and direct-to-consumer sales.

Bob Dylan has shared the pros and cons of aging in a written piece tied to Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
With the president turning 80 on Sunday, the New York Times asked several prominent octogenarians, including Liza Minnelli, Robert De Niro, Art Garfunkel and Dylan, who is 85, to weigh in on the best and worst things about the milestone birthday.
"The best thing about being 80 is that you outlive the clocks that have been chasing you. It's freedom from that lie that anything was ever under control," Dylan penned about turning 80. "You don't chase the parade anymore. You're an old king from some vanished country. You're harder to programme."
On the downside, however, "The old fire in your heart still tells you to do this and that, but your body says we already did it. Also, nothing surprises you. It sounds like a luxury but it's not, and also you've run out of illusions," Dylan wrote.
Unlike the other participants in the op-ed, Dylan did not provide any advice for Trump specifically. Noted Trump critic Robert De Niro did not hold back.
"The president doesn't listen to advice. He surrounds himself with **** less clowns who keep their positions by supporting his every whim. If I were able to pierce the shell of cruelty, greed, corruption and stupidity for one piece of advice... I would advise him to get some good advice from good people, and follow it."

Awesome history was not made.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane spoiled Alex Pereira’s bid to become the first three-division champion in promotional history, knocking out “Poatan” in the second round tonight (Sun., June 14, 2026) at UFC Freedom 250 live on Paramount+ on the South Lawn in Washington, D.C., as UFC celebrated America’s 250th anniversary.
The first round between Gane and Pereira was competitive, but it seemed like the French striker was getting the better of the Brazilian future Hall of Famer, truly welcoming him to the Heavyweight division.
Then, less than 30 seconds into the second round, Gane put a stamp on his performance.
Gane dropped Pereira with a power jab and immediately started unloading heavy shots. Pereira appeared to be badly hurt — and maybe even out on his feet — but the former Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion somehow survived the initial 30-second onslaught.

Aldon Smith, a former San Francisco 49ers star whose NFL career evaporated amid a bevy of off-field issues, died Saturday, the Niners announced. He was 36 years old.
The team's statement:
"We are devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of Aldon Smith. Aldon's undeniable talent and sheer dominance on the field were on display from the moment he joined our organization, having recorded one of the best rookie seasons the National Football League has seen. Beyond his excellence as a player, Aldon will be remembered for his infectious smile that lit up every room he walked into. Our entire organization sends its deepest condolences to the Smith family and all who knew and loved Aldon."
No cause of death was provided.
Smith displayed seemingly unlimited potential in his first two seasons with the Niners. The seventh overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft was immediately one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, posting 14 sacks in his rookie season to earn Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

The Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup championship in 20 years on Sunday night, using a suffocating defense in Game 6 to shut down the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0, winning three straight games in a thrilling final filled with momentum swings and spectacular offense.
Brandon Bussi, whose entrance late into Game 3 helped turn around the series for Carolina, recorded his first career playoff shutout — stopping 22 shots. Jackson Blake had a goal and **** ist, and Taylor Hall scored just 3:47 into the game to set the tone. Nikolaj Ehlers added an empty-net goal.
The Golden Knights, who made an unlikely run just to reach the final, struggled badly to muster any kind of offense in Game 6 and went 18:37 between shots on goal in the second and third periods. Playing in their third Cup final, this is the first time they have been shut out.
This clinching game was what many observers expected the series to be like between the defensive-minded teams, but each side watched leads of two-plus goals disappear in the first three games.
Now, the Cup belongs to the Hurricanes, led by coach Rod Brind'Amour, who also captained Carolina to its 2006 **** le.

One way players have historically risen their market prices is through good performances at a World Cup. Ismael Saibari certainly provided that for Morocco in their World Cup opener against Brazil, scoring with a sumptuous one-touch lob over goalkeeper Alisson Becker to give his nation the 1-0 lead in an eventual 1-1 draw. This goal came in the middle of negotiations from Bayern Munich to reach an agreement for PSV to sell the player and caused some fans t0 worry that the price for the Eredivisie Player of the Year would skyrocket.
But worry not, French digital outlet Foot Mercato claims (as captured by iMiaSanMia) Bayern and PSV have reached a verbal agreement for the 26-year-old:
Bayern have reached a verbal agreement with PSV to sign Ismael Saibari. Medical booked for next week in the US. Contract until June 2031.
But not so fast, says PSV journalist Rik Elfrink. The Dutchman claims (as also captured by iMiaSanMia) that no such agreement exists yet:
Still no definitive agreement between Bayern and PSV over Ismael Saibari. Talks to resume Monday. PSV are unlikely to raise their asking price over Saibari’s performance against Brazil – but still, they will only let him go for a ‘big fee and attractive payment terms’.

The Stanley Cup Final is nearing the end and just like last year, there has been some overtime.
With the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights evenly matched, we had the first overtime in this year's Final in Game 2. It was followed by double overtime in Game. 3.
The Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers went to overtime three times in the first four games. The Oilers won Games 1 and 4 while the Panthers won Game 2 in double overtime. Games 5 and 6 were settled in regulation as the Panthers beat the Oilers for the second year in a row.
Unlike the Olympics and world championships, where 3-on-3 overtime is played even in the gold medal game, the NHL switches things up in the postseason when the games matter more.
There won't be any more 3-on-3 play. It is 5-on-5 instead, just like in regulation play. There won't be any more shootouts. There is sudden death, and it could last a very long time.

Despite being pegged back after Felix Nmecha’s early opener, Julian Nagelsmann’s side quickly regained control and eventually overwhelmed their opponents. Goals from Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz (2), Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav completed a dominant display as Germany flexed their attacking quality.
As expected, Germany started on the front foot, monopolising possession and pinning Curaçao deep inside their own half. Their early pressure paid off after just six minutes when Nmecha exchanged a neat one-two with Florian Wirtz on the edge of the box before curling a superb effort beyond the unsighted Eloy Room to give Die Nationalelf a deserved lead.
After 15 minutes of one-way traffic, however, Curaçao began to grow into the contest. With Germany showing signs of complacency, **** Advocaat’s side started to threaten on the counter-attack and stunned their illustrious opponents with a historic equaliser in the 21st minute.
An attempted through ball was only partially cleared by Schlotterbeck, allowing Jurgen Locadia to keep the move alive before the ball broke kindly for Livano Comenencia. The midfielder unleashed a strike from the edge of the area that took a deflection off Joshua Kimmich and wrong-footed Manuel Neuer on its way into the net, handing Curaçao their first-ever World Cup goal and levelling the scores at 1-1.
The subsequent hydration break arrived at an unfortunate moment for the Blue Wave, disrupting their momentum and allowing Germany to regroup. Nagelsmann’s men soon reasserted their authority and eventually restored their lead in the 38th minute.

James Harden was arrested in Houston early Saturday on a misdemeanor weapon charge after police said they found a handgun in plain view inside a vehicle he owns.
The 36-year-old NBA star was taken into custody in Harris County at about 3:41 a.m. on June 13 and booked at 4:57 a.m., according to court records cited by NBC News. The charge is unlawfully carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle, and CNN reported that Harden was later released on a $100 bond.
Harden is scheduled to appear in court on June 22. The case remains at the charge stage, and no plea or final ruling had been reported in the first wave of coverage.
People reported that Harris County court records say a handgun was found in plain sight inside Harden’s vehicle and was not secured in a holster. The outlet also reported that the reason for the traffic stop was not immediately clear.
Houston Chronicle reported that police said Harden was driving a Mercedes in downtown Houston when officers saw a gun in the car’s cup holder. The outlet reported that Harden acknowledged the gun was his.

Unfortunately, Watson's time in Cleveland has been a complete disaster due to injuries and other issues. Watson has appeared in just 19 total games over the past four seasons with the Browns and he's also thrown just 19 total touchdowns.
As a result, Watson's contract with Cleveland was recently ranked as the worst in the entire NFL by Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon.
"Four years into that infamous deal, Watson has thrown a grand total of 19 touchdown passes in 19 starts. He hasn't been an effective NFL player since 2020, and that's extremely unlikely to suddenly change in his age-31 season," Gagnon wrote.
