Roma's transfer window may not be over yet.
Tony D'Amico hinted as much yesterday during the press conference at Trigoria, admitting that the squad built over the summer is still missing an attacking player: "Realistically, we're missing a player, someone who could play both roles. We're a little short, but we'll identify another player for January."
But Roma might not even wait until January. When asked about the possibility of intervening in the transfer window for players without a contract, the sporting director replied: "Yes, we're evaluating the free agent market and will decide later."
According to today's Corriere della Sera, the potential deal would also be independent of a possible sale of Salah-Eddine to one of the leagues where the transfer window is still open.
The newspaper, however, rules out a resurgence of interest for Jadon Sancho: the now former Gasperini protégé seems to have slipped off the radar of Roma and its manager.
