SPX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:SPXC) announced on September 15 that it completed the acquisition of FIS Water, LLC for approximately $410 million in cash, including certain tax attributes. The acquired business is expected to generate approximately $105 million of revenue in 2026.
That is FIS Water's full-year revenue forecast; its contribution to consolidated 2026 results will reflect the ownership period. The stated cash consideration equals approximately 3.9 times expected annual revenue, making profitability and cash conversion central to the investment case.
FIS Water expands the products SPX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:SPXC) can supply to cooling customers. Its filtration and flow-control products remove solids, maintain water quality, and regulate water movement in commercial and industrial cooling systems, including data centers.
The business has joined the HVAC segment, covering heating, ventilation and air conditioning, within its Cooling operations. Its products complement existing cooling-tower offerings, while its valves and actuators also fit the recently acquired Neptronic controls business.
The strategic attraction is customer overlap. Management identified shared customers, engineering specifications and sales channels, and plans to use its global distribution and equipment-manufacturer relationships to support growth.

On September 8, ServiceTitan, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTAN) reported its fiscal second-quarter financial results, which showed impressive growth. The company's revenue increased 21% year-over-year to $292.8 million and non-GAAP free cash flow reached a record $50.5 million. The company's non-GAAP operating margin also improved to 15.2%.
A key highlight of the quarter was the growing adoption of ServiceTitan, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:TTAN) AI-powered Max package. The company exceeded its target as the number of Max locations more than doubled during the quarter. It now expects to reach more than 700 Max locations by the end of the fiscal year.
The company also said that it is currently focusing on Max and AI, as these represent the highest return on investment. However, this also means that the company is deferring expansion into new commercial trades.
GTV Growth Slows Despite Strong Results
While overall results were solid, ServiceTitan, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTAN) saw some moderation in gross transaction volume (GTV) growth. GTV increased 17% year-over-year in the fiscal second quarter, down from the 23% growth seen in the first quarter. The company attributed the slower growth mainly to lower lead volumes among customers, particularly in the HVAC market.

A laptop used to be something you bought once. Apple just made it something you can pay for every month.
Instead of buying a MacBook or an iPhone outright, customers can now lease one through Apple for a recurring monthly payment. It puts the device itself alongside services such as iCloud and Apple Music in the growing pile of bills that never quite go away.
That same logic has quietly spread almost everywhere else. Tesla charges $99 a month for its Full Self-Driving feature, with Elon Musk warning that the price will climb as the technology improves. HVAC contractors are pitching homeowners on "comfort plans" that bundle a furnace, a compressor, and a decade of maintenance into a single monthly bill, with no upfront cost required.
Car washes have turned an inherently one-off transaction into a membership business. Restaurants are experimenting with drink clubs and meal passes.

A 55-year-old former HVAC company owner spent 22 years building his business before selling it for $3.5 million after taxes and fees. Less than a month later, his brother asked where his "family share" was.
The brother had never worked for the company or put money into it. Still, he expected a six-figure payout. When the former business owner said no, his brother stopped speaking to him.
With the money now sitting in his account, he decided not to make any big moves right away. Instead, he spread it across stocks, bonds, cash and commercial real estate, figuring there was no reason to replace one concentrated bet with another.

Member growth is expected to return in 2026 after stopping since 2020, driven by improving real estate activity, continued direct-to-consumer gains and strong renewal rates.
Frontdoor's non-warranty HVAC replacement business is projected to reach nearly $170 million this year, up from about $13 million five years ago, while its 2-10 acquisition has generated nearly twice its targeted cost synergies.
The company raised its long-term adjusted EBITDA margin target to the mid-20% range, supported by its renewal base, dynamic pricing, contractor efficiencies and SG&A discipline.
Frontdoor (NASDAQ:FTDR) Chief Financial Officer Jason Bailey said the home warranty provider expects member growth to return this year for the first time since 2020, supported by improving real estate-channel conditions, continued direct-to-consumer growth and strong renewal rates.

Week 17 of Bowman Gray Stadium's 2026 racing season could be its most action-packed Saturday yet. FOX 8 WGHP is back as a presenting partner for Twin-50 lap races in the Brad's Golf Cars Modified Division. Sportsman, Stadium Stocks and Street Stocks all return too along with a Skid Race for the second-to-last round of Madhouse mayhem.
This week's lineup includes 20 laps for the QRC HVAC & Refrigeration Street Stocks and one or two 15-lap features for the Q104.1 Stadium Stock Division, depending on the car count.
The Modifieds will host the second and final Twin-50 night of the season. The Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman division are also holding Twin-20 lap events. Saturday will wrap up with a five-lap Skid Race as well.
Points battles remain in multiple series, with a few contenders still in striking distance. Burt Myers' Modified points lead is down to 10 over Tim Brown after Myers ran into late trouble last week, while Brown finished second. Brown and his No. 83 still eye a 150th career pole position this week as well.
Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman contenders Billy Gregg and Justin Taylor are now 15 points apart. They tangled on the last lap a week ago, opening the door for Nate Gregg.

Conestoga Capital Advisors, an ****** et management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The letter reports a positive market shift towards Small Caps, with the Russell 2000 Index achieving its best first half since 1991 and the Russell 2000 Growth Index up 25.7% in Q2, fueled by AI enthusiasm and semiconductor stocks. However, market leadership was uneven, mirroring the Tech Bubble, as high-beta stocks outperformed while high-quality companies lagged, impacting Conestoga's quality-focused strategies. Management expressed confidence in long-term outcomes, noting that speculative leadership won't last as monetary policy tightens and market breadth improves. The firm remains committed to high-quality growth businesses, expecting these to regain favor as leadership broadens. The Conestoga Small Cap Composite returned 14.32% net-of-fees in the second quarter, with 25.71% for the Russell 2000 Growth Index. Narrow Index leadership hurt the relative results, but it also hid Composite improvements. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Conestoga Capital Advisors highlighted AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) as a material contributor. AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) designs and manufactures high-efficiency air conditioning and heating equipment. On August 4, 2026, AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) closed at $95.55 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $7.82 billion. AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) posted a one-month return of -11.51%, while its shares gained 17.26% over the past 52 weeks.
Conestoga Capital Advisors stated the following regarding AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"AAON, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAON) was among the portfolio's strongest contributors during the quarter following what we believe was an exceptional first-quarter earnings report. Results highlighted significant demand for the company's BASX division, which provides liquid-cooling solutions for data centers. Management raised its 2026 BASX revenue outlook to approximately $1.0 billion, up from its previous forecast of $715 million, reflecting accelerating demand from AI-driven data center investments. The company's rooftop HVAC business also demonstrated a healthy rebound despite ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty. While gross margins declined during the quarter, management intentionally prioritized growth and market share over near-term profitability. We believe this is the appropriate strategy given the robust demand environment and should strengthen AAON's competitive position over the long term."

Probably yes, and not because he would want to rub it in. Because the truth is that a home with an aging HVAC system is a home with a known, predictable financial risk sitting directly above your head, and planning for known risks is exactly what financial responsibility looks like. An emergency fund exists for genuine surprises. A 15-year-old air conditioner failing in August is not a surprise. It is a timeline.
Ramsey's Baby Step 3 calls for three to six months of expenses in a fully funded emergency fund. That fund exists for genuine emergencies: a job loss, a medical event, something truly unforeseeable. It is not designed to absorb every large household expense without consequence. When it gets wiped out by a home repair, you are left exposed to the next unexpected event with no buffer, and that is exactly the kind of financial vulnerability that sends people back into debt.

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) announced that it has shipped its first bulk order of THERMAL-XR graphene coating to Nu-Calgon Wholesaler, its exclusive distributor in North America, marking a step toward commercial sales in the US HVAC-R market.
The product will be marketed and sold under the brand name Nu-Calgon CoolWorx powered by GMG Graphene, according to the company.
The shipment follows regulatory authorization previously disclosed by GMG, which allows the company to export, distribute, sell, use and dispose of its graphene coating across multiple industries in the United States under a pre-manufacture notice issued by the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Nu-Calgon president DeWight Wallace said that the company was "very excited" to receive the first shipment and begin introducing the product to the North American HVAC-R market.
"GMG's graphene technology offers contractors a genuine, measurable energy-saving solution, and we look forward to deploying it across our distribution network. This is exactly the kind of innovative product our customers are looking for," Wallace said.

Most homeowners know they'll eventually need to replace at least some of the major components of their home. Roofs wear out over time, especially in areas with severe weather, and water heaters fail. HVAC systems don't last forever, either, nor do large appliances or flooring. But while many of those expenses can be anticipated at least a few years in advance, it's often difficult to know exactly when a central air conditioning system will need to be replaced — or how much that replacement will cost.
That cost question is becoming an increasingly important one as homeowners hold onto their properties longer and look for ways to manage their ongoing maintenance expenses. A central AC system is one of the most expensive household systems to repair or replace, after all, yet many homeowners don't begin researching costs until performance starts to decline or a contractor recommends a replacement. That's when many discover that the price of a new system can vary significantly.
Factors like the size of the home, the efficiency of the unit and the complexity of the installation can all influence the final bill, after all. So, before moving forward with a purchase, it's important to understand both the average costs and what specific factors drive the price of a central air conditioning unit.
Learn how ARS can help you keep your central AC costs down now.

President Trump attacked the federal judge who blocked his plan to close the Kennedy Center for a two-year renovation in a Truth Social post Saturday, one day after the judge ordered the president's name removed from the building.
In a 94-page opinion issued Friday on what would have been President John F. Kennedy's 109th birthday, U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper sided with Rep. Joyce Beatty, an Ohio Democrat and ex officio member of the Kennedy Center board. Cooper, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, found that the Trump-stacked board overstepped its authority when it voted in December 2025 to rebrand the institution as the "Trump Kennedy Center" and again in March when it approved a closure set to begin around the Fourth of July.
"The Kennedy Center's organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board's unilateral say-so," Cooper wrote. "Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it."
Cooper gave the administration 14 days to remove Trump's name from the building's facade, the website and official materials. He did not bar repair work from continuing and said the board could try again to close the venue if it followed the proper process.
In a Saturday morning post, Trump called Cooper "a Barack Hussein Obama Judge" and accused him of standing in the way of a "magnificent" rebuild that he said would have replaced rotting beams, decades-old HVAC equipment and damaged marble. The president also attacked Cooper's wife, attorney Amy Jeffress, claiming she is "totally wired into the Left System" and represents "a Conflict of Interest" that should have forced Cooper to step aside.
