Gemma Chan continues to impress on the Josephine press tour, with two Burberry looks that couldn't be more different.
Maarten De Boer/Getty Images
Gemma's Burberry Spring 2027 floral silk taffeta dress almost felt like a take on the label's signature trench coat.
Between the epaulettes, belted waist and ******* on-front design, the trench coat references were unmistakable, but the delicate floral embroidery and softly gathered neckline gave the familiar silhouette a dressier feel.
I particularly like how Gemma rolled up the sleeves and opted for ivory pointed-toe pumps, which worked beautifully with the soft grey tone of the dress. This was a charming daytime look.

Sydney Sweeney is getting into the holiday spirit with the latest drop from her lingerie and loungewear brand, SYRN. The actor fronted the campaign for the label's new "All I Want Is Plaid" collection from the Holiday Shop, bringing festive charm to every frame. The playful campaign featured cozy Christmas sets and stacks of wrapped presents.
For the campaign, Sydney Sweeney slipped into SYRN's Snow Problem Flannel Cami and Shorts Set, priced at $69. The matching plaid set featured a flannel cami with two front panels tied together at the bust, creating a flirty cutout effect.
The fitted silhouette hugged her frame while the coordinating plaid micro shorts sat comfortably on the waist with a pull-on design. An embroidered SYRN logo at the shorts' hem added a subtle finishing touch.
She layered the festive look with white thigh-high stockings and completed it with lavender-blue platform heels. A soft pale blue faux-fur-trimmed cape draped over her shoulders, making the outfit feel even more holiday-ready.
The campaign showed Sweeney balancing wrapped presents and posing among snow-covered Christmas trees. She playfully tangled herself in colorful string lights before the reel ended with the SYRN logo appearing on a vintage television.

NASA’s Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory met a fiery end on Wednesday morning, nearly 22 years after it launched to study the most powerful explosions in the universe.
Data from the US ******* e Force estimates the 3,200-pound ******* ecraft plunged into Earth’s atmosphere over Indonesia around 7:39 a.m. ET.
While most of the observatory was expected to burn up as it blazed through the thick inner band of Earth’s atmosphere, NASA predicted some pieces of the vehicle would survive.
It was not immediately clear whether any surviving debris hit land. Previously, NASA had predicted that the “risk of harm coming to anyone on Earth is unlikely, approximately 1 in 2,100.”
If Swift were launched today, it would likely have to adhere to far stricter safety guidelines regarding end-of-life planning, according to The Aerospace Corporation, which is a federally funded research and development center.

US stocks jumped on Wednesday after Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress in a seismic midterm election, paving the way for a divided government.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose 3%, or over 1,500 points, while the S&P 500 (^GSPC) climbed 1.7%. The Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) traded up by 1.6% amid a post-election relief rally.
Markets swiftly repriced a Democratic sweep of the House and Senate — and the potential for ballot measures and newly elected officials to restrict data center construction. Chip stocks, including Nvidia (NVDA) and Micron (MU), fell. Meanwhile, other parts of the tech sector offset some of those losses, with Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT) each hitting all-time highs.
Investors will also be watching for policy actions on housing and pharmaceuticals in the aftermath of the election. As Yahoo Finance's Jared Blikre pointed out on Tuesday, midterm elections have a history of shaping stock performance in the near term but don't tend to move markets much over the long term.
On the economic front, ISM and S&P data showed that US services activity expanded at a slower pace in October as businesses continued to grapple with elevated costs. Private-sector hiring, meanwhile, continued to show strength in October as an ADP report indicated "pretty solid job growth."

CVS Health Corporation (CVS) announced plans on Wednesday to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies, reshaping one of the largest healthcare companies in the US.
Shares of CVS dropped more than 10% on Wednesday. The company also reported quarterly results.
CVS Health intends to separate its insurance, pharmacy benefit management, and healthcare services operations from its retail pharmacy and community healthcare segments.
The planned split marks a major shift from CVS Health's long-term strategy to bring together insurance, pharmacy benefit management, and healthcare services under one single structure.
Under the proposed plan, one company will retain the CVS Health name and house Aetna, CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, Oak Street Health, and Signify Health.

Prince Harry has been warned that his public comments about the royal family could undermine his hopes of reconciling with King Charles and Prince William. Reputation expert Eric Schiffer believes the Duke of Sussex needs to stop discussing his family publicly, particularly after his recent GQ interview reignited debate about the royal rift. Harry has openly expressed his desire to repair his relationships with his father and brother following his return to Britain. However, Schiffer argues that the prince's continued willingness to discuss private family matters could make that process more difficult. The warning comes as Harry attempts to settle back into British life with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
MEGA
According to Daily Express US, reputation expert Eric Schiffer believes Harry's approach to repairing his family relationships could be doing more harm than good. Schiffer suggested that the Duke's public comments reveal what he described as a "discipline challenge" and a failure to consider the "second-order effects" of his actions. The expert's criticism followed Harry's recent GQ interview, in which the prince discussed returning to Britain, raising his children closer to his relatives, and his hopes of moving past years of family tensions. Schiffer argued that reconciliation remains possible but warned that Harry needs to demonstrate greater restraint.
"And the best action is no action in terms of talking," the reputation expert advised.
His comments suggest that Harry's efforts to explain his position publicly may be counterproductive, particularly when he is seeking to rebuild trust with relatives who have largely avoided discussing their disagreements in interviews.

President Donald Trump has been in the White House for nearly six years, spanning two nonconsecutive terms. Over that time, the iconic Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), benchmark S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and growth-dependent Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) have delivered well-above-average annual returns, compared to most other presidents since the late 1890s.
One of the key catalysts powering Wall Street's bull market, the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out, was well underway before Trump's second term began. But make no mistake about it: Wall Street and investors have also benefited immensely from the president's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (signed into law in December 2017), which lowered the peak marginal corporate income tax rate to 21% (the lowest rate since 1939), fueling record S&P 500 share buybacks.

Bear markets are a normal part of investing in the stock market. **** ody knows when the next one will arrive, but it will eventually arrive with 100% certainty. The time to prepare is before you face the fear that comes with big market downturns. That's why you should consider owning companies like Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), Medtronic (NYSE: MDT), Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO), and Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG).
But there are two pieces to the story here. First, they all operate in economically resilient industries. Second, they all have incredible dividend track records. Here's a quick look at each one.

To be fair, you may not be happy about paying for healthcare, since it can be expensive. But you will still pay for it because, in the most extreme cases, it can be the difference between life and death. In less extreme cases, the difference is between a better and worse quality of life, and you'll still probably pay up. The risk of not paying simply isn't worth it.
Johnson & Johnson is a good choice if you are worried about a bear market and are looking for a safe-haven investment. It is a major player in both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, providing diversification. It is a Dividend King, having rewarded shareholders with more than 50 consecutive annual dividend increases. And while its yield isn't exactly huge at 2%, it is roughly twice what you'd collect from an S&P 500 index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) fund. J&J isn't exactly an exciting company, but it is a reliable one.

The D.C. government and the commonwealth of Virginia sued Saturday to block construction of President Donald Trump’s planned triumphal arch, calling it a “flagrantly unlawful” project that will forever change the landscape of the nation’s capital.
The lawsuit is the latest attempt to stop the 250-foot-tall arch, which Trump hopes to build near Arlington National Cemetery and says will commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday. The administration would like to begin construction as soon as next week.
The two jurisdictions are asking a federal judge to halt the plan and argue that they have “indisputable standing” to bring their lawsuit because the towering arch would have tangible, negative effects on the region — an argument that distinguishes their lawsuit from others that have tried to stop Trump’s construction projects.
D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb (D) said the arch construction would cause “serious, immediate and irreparable harm to the District and its residents,” while Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones (D) said “Trump’s illegal vanity project” would be an affront to Arlington National Cemetery and the “extraordinary sacrifices it represents.”
“The Commonwealth has a solemn duty and a profound interest in preserving the dignity of this sacred place,” Jones said in a statement. “We will vigorously litigate to protect its sanctity and honor the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looks likely to open the innings yet again in the 4th T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland.
With India already taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series, they now have a wider berth to experiment with the batting order.
While the in-form Abhishek Sharma has made the opening slot his own, Sanju Samson and Sooryavanshi have alternated at the No. 3 spot in the last two matches.
With Ishan Kishan out with low-grade right adductor strain, India may continue with their top three in Auckland as well.
Kishan's injury opened the door for Sooryavanshi in the third T20I and the 15-year-old made a mark in the fourth match in Wellington, scoring a breathless 45 and setting the tone, along with Sharma, as India chased down a target of 199 in 13.2 overs

New Zealand vs India 4th T20I prediction, lineups and Eden Park pitch report — who will win? originally appeared on Cricket News. Add Cricket News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
India have already won the series, and New Zealand are running out of bowlers. The fourth T20I at Eden Park on Friday (12.30pm IST) will offer the hosts little comfort.
India chased 199 in 13.2 overs in Wellington, scoring 118 in the first six, the highest powerplay total in men's T20I history. Now they move to a ground where the boundaries are very short.
India have scored at 10.45 an over across 38 T20Is this year, the best of any Full Member. New Zealand have managed 9.37 across 23 innings. Finn Allen apart, their batters do not hit with the same power, and their bowling attack has been stripped back further. Lockie Ferguson is out for the rest of the series, joining Matt Henry and Zak Foulkes on the injury list. Blair Tickner may play.
India have won 22 of their 34 T20Is against New Zealand, losing 11 with one tie, and they have taken eight of the last nine meetings. Their only real choice is how much to rest, with the ODI and Test series still to come. Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Shivam Dube have yet to play on this tour, and Mayank Yadav could return. Even so, the top order of Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer would be hard for any attack to contain.

Emma Roberts gave her strapless Alex Perry sequin gown a Wild West twist with her choice of accessories. The "We're the Millers" actress attended the Clarins x F1 celebration on October 24. Her outfit brought a fresh perspective to eveningwear, blending high-octane red-carpet glamour with playful personality. Photos and videos of her look have since gone viral online.
Posing against a muted champagne backdrop at the Clarins x F1 party, Emma Roberts stood out in a sequin Alex Perry dress. Covered entirely in densely packed sequins, the garment caught the ambient light from every angle, reflecting deep chocolate-brown and warm copper tones with every movement.
The gown featured a clean, straight-across strapless neckline that highlighted her bare shoulders and arms. Further, the sculpted torso skimmed her figure before flowing into a long, floor-sweeping column skirt.
The rich bronze palette added unexpected depth and warmth that harmonized beautifully with her golden-blonde hair and glowing skin.
Roberts added a Western twist to the clean lines of her gown with a hard-shell from Judith Leiber. Known as the Cowboy Hat, Cheyenne featured the iconic shape of a Western cowboy hat and was fully encrusted with glittering champagne-gold crystals.

Bengaluru: For Tilak Varma, the number next to his name on the team sheet matters far less than the one on the scoreboard at the end of the match.
The India T20I vice-captain has seen his role evolve considerably in recent months, moving from the top order to the finisher's role as the team continues to fine-tune its combinations. While adapting to different batting positions is rarely straightforward, the 23-year-old has embraced the challenge and put the team's needs ahead of personal preference.
Having begun his T20I career near the top of the order, Tilak now often finds himself walking in at No. 5 or 6. With Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opening, Ishan Kishan firmly established at No. 3 and skipper Shreyas Iyer occupying the next slot, opportunities higher up the order have become limited.
Rather than viewing it as a setback, Tilak sees it as another responsibility to master.
"Ishan is batting brilliantly at No. 3. So, for me, there is no option but to bat at 5 and 6 and do the job for the team. I am mentally prepared for that role and in the last few games, I have won matches from there. So, I am pretty confident," Tilak said after the rain-hit series decider against the West Indies in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The left-hander admitted that the transition from a top-order batter to a finisher has not been without its challenges.
"It's not easy to change from No. 3 to No. 5 or 6. It is slightly challenging. But I have been working on how I can finish games, and I love finishing games for the country," he said.
The demands of batting in the lower middle order are vastly different from those of a top-order role. There is little time to settle in, and the emphasis is on making an immediate impact rather than constructing an innings. Tilak said he has consciously altered his preparation to meet those demands.
"I have been working on it in the nets. Otherwise, it becomes tough. When you go in as a finisher and a slower ball comes into your arc, you need to be ready to hit it for six. In T20 cricket, if you bat at No. 5 or 6, you generally get only five or six overs, so I have had to change my approach."
Fortunately for Tilak, batting down the order is not entirely new territory.
"I batted lower down the order in my childhood as well. I have shots all around the ground and I am confident in my ability to adapt. Whether it is No. 3 or No. 5, I believe I have the technique to fit into any role for the team if I prepare well," he said.

Penélope Cruz continued her La Bola Negra press tour at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival, held at the Royal Festival Hall this evening.
Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/WireImage
The Chanel ambassador has been having plenty of fun experimenting with different styles and labels throughout this press tour. We saw it at TIFF and San Sebastián, and now London has given us another welcome change of direction.
This time, Penélope dipped into the archives for a Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2014 suit.
The tailoring is impeccable, but it's the pattern play that really sells this look to me. The contrasting checks of the shirt and tie, alongside the dominate cuffs, add plenty of charm and personality to the classic black suit without making the combination feel too busy.

Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) is offering a dividend yield of roughly 6% today. That is well above the roughly 1% yield on offer from the S&P 500 index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and the 1.4% average yield of pharmaceutical stocks. There are good reasons for the negative view of Pfizer, but investors may be ignoring the company's over 100-year history of success. Here's why you may want to consider buying this out-of-favor dividend stock while others are fearful.
Pfizer's stock rocketed higher during the coronavirus pandemic, as investors myopically focused on the company's COVID vaccine. When COVID turned out to be a less serious long-term threat than originally believed, Wall Street dumped Pfizer. At this point, the stock is down more than 50% from its 2021 high. That is a big part of the story behind the high yield.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
However, there's another piece that is more fundamental to the pharmaceutical industry. Like all drug makers, Pfizer's drugs receive time-limited patent protections. When patents expire, generic versions of the medications can be produced. That generally leads to a dramatic decline in revenue from Pfizer's drugs. Right now, Pfizer is facing down some notable patent expirations. This is a completely normal dynamic in the pharmaceutical sector.
Patent expirations are why drug companies are always on the lookout for new drugs. The problem is that patent expirations follow a set schedule, but drug development does not. Pfizer's drug pipeline isn't producing major new drugs right now, and it looks like it may have to work through a period in which new drugs won't fully offset revenue lost to patent expirations. This isn't uncommon, either, but investors are likely focusing on the short term rather than the long term when it comes to Pfizer.

Ex-Prince Andrew reportedly does not have that much of a miserable life while in exile. The former Duke of York lost all his royal ******* les after the news of his scandalous past in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The former Prince also had to leave his long-time residence, the Royal Lodge, within Windsor Great Park, and move to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The new report came amid news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor challenging the British police warrants used to search two of his properties.
Ex-Prince Andrew has reportedly been "having a very nice time" while in exile in the middle of his ongoing scandal. As reported by The Royal Observer, a source made this claim about the former Duke of York to The Times.
The former Prince has been staying at the Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk after he had to leave his long-time residence, the Royal Lodge. According to the report, while moving away from a mansion with thirty rooms to a house with five bedrooms might appear to be a big loss, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not completely lost his "charmed lifestyle."
Furthermore, per the news outlet, the insider told The Times that Ex-Prince Andrew "goes out, he goes off shooting with friends, he sees his old chums who are very loyal to him." According to the insider, the former Duke of York had not been "sitting around feeling sorry for himself any more." In the meantime, the former Prince's recent decision to take legal action against Thames Valley Police has caused quite the buzz among royal watchers.
Meanwhile, the publication further reported that the source also said to The Times that "There appears to have been a 'something must be done' moment where his lawyers, to appease him, will have said 'Don't worry, sir, we will handle it.'" This legal move came after the former Duke of York's arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The U.S. Senate candidates in Texas could hardly be more different: James Talarico, a former seminarian turned Democratic state lawmaker who speaks in calm cadences about love and empathy, and Ken Paxton, the pugnacious Republican state attorney general who speaks about a refusal to compromise.
They share an enemy, though. They dislike social media's effects on children's mental health. Talarico, who did not respond to a request for comment, has endorsed a social media ban for kids under 16, while denouncing "predatory algorithms that divide us on an hourly, daily basis." As a legislator, he co-authored a bill targeting explicit deepfakes — digital imitations of individuals that are often made or manipulated by artificial intelligence and used for harassment on social media.
Paxton has been suing Big Tech, alleging the companies hook youth on their apps or don't restrict sensitive videos from being viewed by kids. "When elected to the U.S. Senate, he will continue his proven record of advancing policies that protect children online, strengthen parental rights, and hold Big Tech accountable when it breaks the law," Paxton campaign spokesperson Madison Cercy said in a statement to KFF Health News.
Youth mental health is in decline. Even as researchers explore what's causing the problem, momentum is gathering among policymakers from both parties to crack down on social media companies. Several major companies are being sued, investigated, and, soon, potentially regulated. That they may be harming kids' mental health is a key reason.

Michael Douglas, firmly in his smooth silver-fox era, has opened the door into secret compartments of his life. Douglas, 82, has just published an incredibly dishy, wildly entertaining, at times both hilarious and painful new memoir, One ****** uva Ride. It's a tale that spans generations of Hollywood royalty, from his father Kirk's rise to stardom to his own run of classic films as both producer and actor: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), The China Syndrome (1979), Romancing the Stone (1984), Wall Street (1987), Fatal Attraction (1987), Basic Instinct (1992), and Falling Down (1993), to name some of the biggest. Written with Shane Salerno, the book is one of those rare memoirs that both entertains and sheds light on a lost world of Hollywood of glamour and decadence, with lots of ****** and drugs and even some rock & roll.
To discuss all this, Douglas has invited me into his palatial apartment overlooking New York City's Central Park, one of several homes he owns and enjoys. He's a welcoming and gracious host, no servants or ****** istants bustling about. Just Douglas padding around in his socks, still as slim, handsome, and charming as ever. Douglas makes me a coffee, and we sit down in a living room with a view of his two Oscars, an Emmy, and other awards. Between Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, the trophy case is so large it fills up a corner of the massive living room.

Kevin Hart's 2017 ***** tape scandal could resurface in court as Montia Sabbag may be called to testify in the comedian's ongoing legal battle. Sabbag, who was involved in the controversial recording, could now face questions about the incident and the investigation that followed.
Kevin Hart's former ***** istant Miesha Shakes is seeking testimony from Montia Sabbag in her legal dispute with the comedian, potentially bringing Hart's controversial 2017 ***** tape scandal back into the spotlight. According to TMZ, Shakes wants Sabbag questioned about the video and the investigation that followed.
Sabbag was at the center of the scandal after a video involving her and Hart became the subject of an extortion investigation. She has acknowledged that she appears in the recording but has denied any involvement in making it or in the extortion attempt that followed. Shakes now reportedly wants her account of those events to become part of the current proceedings.
Sabbag's potential involvement comes amid a separate dispute between Hart and Shakes over a non-disclosure agreement. Hart has accused his former ***** istant of violating the agreement by discussing his personal life in an interview with a blogger. Shakes has disputed that claim and argued that Hart failed to fulfill obligations under the agreement, which she says makes the deal invalid.
The two sides also disagree over who is responsible for damage to Hart's reputation. Hart has accused Shakes of harming his public image, while Shakes has argued that Hart's own actions have contributed to it, citing the ***** tape controversy among other examples. Shakes plans to testify in the case and wants Hart to do the same. The legal proceedings are ongoing.

KYIV, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Russia pounded Ukraine with waves of missiles and drones on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and hitting residential buildings, industrial facilities and infrastructure, Ukrainian officials said.
One Russian missile slammed into an apartment block in the northern city of Pryluky, killing at least nine people including three children, regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus said.
Dozens of rescuers picked through the rubble at the site where several sections of the five-story building collapsed, Reuters video showed.
Emergency workers used ladders to get to the upper floors of what remained of the building. Around 40 people were wounded, the governor said.
