Paddy Pimblett has opened up about rumors of him facing Ilia Topuria next.
It took just 52 seconds for Paddy 'The Baddy' to catch Benoit Saint Denis in a choke and render him unconscious. Arguably his greatest display inside the octagon against one of the division's elite, the Brit has been in limbo since July. No fight announcement, and reportedly no talks have taken place since the 28-year-old's showstopping performance in Las Vegas.
While comfortable enjoying life away from the octagon, Paddy Pimblett has **** le aspirations and is seeking the ultimate success under the UFC banner. Likely one fight away from another chance to achieve his dreams, Pimblett has been rumored to face long-term rival Ilia Topuria next.
A win in that fight would undoubtedly earn him a shot at the lightweight throne, but is the fight happening? According to Pimblett, no talks have taken place regarding any future opponents.
"I'd love to smash his head in, lad," Pimblett said about Topuria. "But we need to wait and see… Nothing [has been discussed] yet. No one's spoken to me about it, so we'll see what happens."

When the Cleveland Browns hired Todd Monken to be their head coach, they did so with the expectation that he would be able to help elevate an offense that could eventually match a dominant defense. While his work is more than cut out for him in year one, his track record is enough to where it points to him being able to achieve something during his tenure in Cleveland.
ESPN recently highlighted all the NFL playcallers; within the piece, they discuss several key stats and points about them. For Monken, they discussed his ability to craft the best offense in the NFL in recent years in Baltimore.
They write, "Monken was the architect of one of the league's most explosive offenses during his time in Baltimore. Lamar Jackson was named NFL MVP in his first season with Monken in 2023, and the Ravens finished as the league's No. 1 offense for the first time in their history in 2024. The offense in Cleveland will look different with a young and unproven core, along with the perennial quarterback question, but Monken has a reputation for melding his scheme to his players' talents."
His career as a playcaller is discussed heavily, and he has had success at various levels. He has won with the Baltimore Ravens and had success with talent like Lamar Jackson. What may be the most impressive display in his career is his time with the Georgia Bulldogs, where he elevated an offense led by Stetson Bennett and won two national ***** les.
He can win and produce an offense, but can he do it in Cleveland? Time will tell.

Ishan Kishan led from the front with a superb unbeaten century as East Zone finished Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy 2026 final on 385/4 against South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Kishan anchored a strong batting display from East Zone, scoring 111 not out off 135 ****** . His innings featured 14 fours and two sixes as he took control of the contest in the final session.

Kishan found an excellent partner in ****** ar Kushagra, who remained unbeaten on 63 off 75 ****** . The pair added an unbeaten 144-run partnership for the fifth wicket off 160 ****** , completely taking the game away from South Zone towards the end of the day.
East Zone made a solid start through Abhimanyu Easwaran (72) and teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (44). Easwaran and Sooryavanshi gave the side a strong platform before both departed. Sudip ****** ar Gharami was then dismissed for 6, bringing Shikhar Mohan to the crease. Mohan played a composed knock of 85 off 120 ****** , helping East Zone build another important partnership before Chama Milind ended his innings at 241/4.

That dismissal brought Kishan and Kushagra together, and the pair ensured there were no further setbacks.

Kishan accelerated as the innings progressed and brought up his century in style, remaining unbeaten at the close. His knock was particularly important given his role as captain, with East Zone now firmly in control after the opening day.
South Zone's bowling attack found little ****** istance from a placid batting surface, while the bowlers also struggled with consistency. Chama Milind was the most successful bowler, finishing the day with figures of 2/56 from 13 overs. Tripurana Vijay picked up one wicket but conceded 114 runs from his 22 overs.

Mohammed Siraj, meanwhile, went wicketless despite bowling 14 overs and conceded 96 runs. East Zone also benefited from a late surge, scoring 74 runs without losing a wicket in the final 10 overs. Kishan and Kushagra's partnership allowed them to finish the day strongly at 385/4.

With Kishan unbeaten on 111 and Kushagra on 63, East Zone will resume on Day 2 with an opportunity to push towards a total of 400 and beyond. South Zone, meanwhile, will desperately need early wickets with the second new ball to prevent East Zone from building an even bigger first-innings total.

Tens of thousands of people have flocked to the coast for a kite festival in Lancashire.
The opening day of the annual three-day St Annes International Kite Festival was disrupted by 40mph winds on Friday.
However, the wind dropped for the last two days of what organisers say is the UK's biggest kite festival.
The skies have been awash with displays from more than 200 kite fliers from all over the world, including Australia and the US, and a new art trail bringing shop windows to life with kite design created by local school children.
The free event is a partnership between Fylde Council and kite fliers SmileFactor10, with support from St Annes Town Council.

Chelsea's interest in Lamine Camara has not gone away, and his latest display for Monaco has only intensified the feeling that this is a story with plenty left to run. According to TeamTalk, scouts from Chelsea and Liverpool were among a number of Premier League clubs in Paris on Friday night as Monaco claimed an eye-catching win over Paris Saint-Germain, with Camara playing a central part.
The backdrop made the performance even more significant. Camara had only just seen what was described as his "dream Deadline Day move to Chelsea collapse", after Monaco withdrew late despite an agreement having been reached. It left both player and buying club stunned, and it also left Chelsea needing to reassess after Enzo Fernandez's move to Manchester City earlier that same day created a major midfield vacancy.

Camara returned to action under considerable emotional pressure and still delivered what was described as "a performance of real quality against one of Europe's strongest sides".
Against a PSG midfield featuring Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves and Vitinha, "arguably one of the finest midfield trios in club football", Camara "was able to more than hold his own and play a significant role in Monaco's victory". The Tosh Lupoi Era for the Cal football team began in Berkeley on Saturday night with a full house at Memorial Stadium and plenty of thrills. What it ultimately lacked, however, was a victory for the Bears, who saw UCLA score three fourth-quarter touchdowns to claim a 45-24 victory with a majority of Cal fans clearing out of their seats before the final whistle.
It seemed nothing could stop Cal after sophomore Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele delivered three consecutive completions to take the Bears 87 yards into the end zone in just 38 seconds to cut the Bears' deficit to 21-17 toward the end of the first half.
With the Memorial Stadium home crowd roaring and the powers of their star quarterback on full display in the moon-balls he summoned, it felt like nothing could stop the Bears from satisfying the hype that the team spent the last eight months cultivating. A start to what the program hoped could be a Cinderella season.
And then the clock struck midnight.
The UCLA offensive line began to mash Cal in the trenches. Bruins running backs Wayne Knight and Jaivian Thomas started to steamroll through tackles and break containment. And the Sagapolutele magic turned into dust as a mishandled snap on a fourth-down and two fourth-quarter interceptions - one off the hands of his receiver and the other right to defense (both to the Bruins' Ta'Shawn James) - gave UCLA the momentum to take the game and run.

Ahead of a 52-16 win over North Texas on Saturday, the No, 6 Hoosiers (1-0) debuted a 2025 championship banner in the south end zone of Memorial Stadium. The sold out crowd broke into a sing-a-long to Queen's "We Are The Champions" when the signage was unveiled.
Indiana players were in the locker room as the scene unfolded, but none of them gave the banner much thought upon entering the field.
"I just didn't really notice it," Indiana linebacker Isaiah Jones said. "It's cool to have that up there, but that's last year. We're trying to put another team together that's going to go out there and compete."

A versatile and highley rated performer, on paper it seemed to some as if Calvin Palmer's big money move in February 1968 was exactly what Sunderland's struggling squad needed, and yet when he departed two years the later his release felt inevitable – and the man that had brought him was certainly happy to see him go.
Bought by the recently reinstalled Alan Brown, Palmer's issues rarely came down to ability. Although fans felt they never got to see the same all action displays he produced at previous club Stoke City they still recognised his versatility and commitment to winning, particularly during one early appearance when against Stoke he took over from the injured Jimmy Montgomery in goal. It was an example of the type of self-sacrifice Brown would usually appreciate and yet the pair were unable to ever strike up a working relationship, a clash of personalities meaning that the notoriously formidable manager and his unconventional recruit often ***** ed heads.
Palmer would invariably take his football seriously but as a character struggled to acquiesce to Brown's rigid structure and expectations. A squad trip to a cinema the month after signing, during which Palmer decided to leave early, led to Brown disciplining him for a breach of club rules for instance, and once the tone was set a number of other battles followed. By January 1970 Palmer was on the transfer list at his own request, and there was clearly no way back for him.
A court case and subsequent driving ban that month served to emphasise the differences between the player and manager; Palmer had found himself on the wrong side of the law whilst Brown had previously served as a police officer and maintained a strict zero tolerance attitude towards any sort of infringements thereafter. In more modern times it might be sensed that Palmer's nature simply warranted a different approach, but the 'Bomber's' management style never relied on subtlety and in the May he confirmed his decision to cut his losses on the £70,000 fee that had been paid and gave his player a free transfer.
It was presumed that this would be the end of the matter, but Palmer, often accused of being 'outspoken' in those more deferential times, did still intend of having the final word. In August he joined Cape Town City and the following month there was to be a rude awakening for Brown when on this day a national Sunday paper launched a 'warts and all' series detailing from South Africa the views and stories of the now ex Rokerman. Whereas Palmer's seemingly divergent traits would be better understood now it was easy then to tag him as a controversial figure, but even still the new column was quite the exposé, with the account being labelled as an 'explosive' chat with 'football's stormiest rebel'.

Vanderbilt football defeated Austin Peay 28-9 in a weather-shortened game after it was called with 2:16 remaining in the fourth quarter of the season opener Sept. 5 at FirstBank Stadium.
As promised, the Commodores (1-0) played two quarterbacks, with both five-star freshman Jared Curtis and senior Blaze Berlowitz seeing action.

BATON ROUGE, LA – The Lane Kiffin era started with fireworks. Literally.
As LSU came out of the tunnel shortly before kickoff of its game against Clemson, LSU shot off purple and gold fireworks inside the stadium to hard launch to Kiffin's debut with the Tigers.
Hey, better than saving up the fireworks for display after a loss, like Rutgers did.
Earlier in the day, Kiffin, ever the showman, entered the stadium during the Tiger Walk wearing a double breasted suit. He was accompanied by comedian Theo Von and swimsuit model Olivia Dunne, a former LSU gymnast.
The start of the Clemson-LSU game was delayed two hours because of lightning and heavy rain. The Kiffin era officially kicked off at 8:40 p.m. local time, with smoke from the pregame pyrotechnics display hovering in the air at Tiger Stadium.

Iowa started its 2026 campaign in style on Saturday afternoon.
In front of a sold-out Kinnick Stadium, the Hawkeyes completely dominated Northern Illinois on their way to a 40-0 victory. Kirk Ferentz's team took care of business in all three phases of the game to help Iowa open the season with a win. Despite the caliber of the opponent, there was still a lot to like and learn from this game.
The Hawkeyes may have found a winner in the highly contested starting quarterback battle. Phil Parker's defense showed out. And Iowa's return game seems to be in a really good spot. Here's the complete list of takeaways from Iowa's stomping of the Huskies on Saturday.
All eyes were on the Iowa quarterbacks on Saturday. And both guys showed off some good stuff. Hank Brown went 12-of-20 for 129 yards and a touchdown. He didn't play a snap in the second half. The 6-foot-4 signal caller had zip on his passes and made great reads. He has a great arm, which led to a few overthrows and missed opportunities. Outside of those, this was an excellent season debut for Brown.
Jeremy Hecklinski finished the game going 7-of-16 for 76 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. He displayed a good rapport with the tight ends and Reece Vander Zee. Like Brown, he missed a few golden opportunities. He also threw a pick in the end zone on a fourth-and-goal. It was far from perfect, but Hecklinski still showed some promise.

LeBron James teased a coming partnership with Polymarket on Saturday, becoming the latest name on a growing list of celebrities getting into business with the controversial prediction market industry.
"Welcome to Polymarket HQ. Coming soon," wrote James, captioning a 14-second video social media video that depicts him in an office elevator with floors labeled with names like "politics," "crypto," "culture" and "weather." The video ends with James smiling as he exits on the "sports" floor.
No other information about James' partnership with Polymarket has been disclosed, though the Athletic reports that it received a release from the platform saying more announcements will come Tuesday.
The partnership makes James the latest celebrity to tie themselves to the prediction market industry. The four-time NBA champion and founder of the SpringHill Company production banner, who is entering a record 24th season in the league, would be the first NBA athlete to sign a partnership with Polymarket. However, former champion and newly minted Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo announced a direct investment in rival platform Kalshi back in February. Additionally, tennis star Maria Sharapova and soccer legend Lionel Messi have both signed deals with Polymarket and Kalshi, respectively.
Prediction markets have looked to expand their profile outside of sports as well. In June, Timothée Chalamet was featured in a one-minute ad for Kalshi. Back in January, the Golden Globes broadcast featured an on-air partnership with Polymarket, displaying win probabilities for nominees that users could buy and sell predictions for and against on the platform.

The UCLA Bruins first football game of the 2026 season comes against the California Golden Bears at the California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif. on Sept. 4.
Head coach Bob Chesney will reveal the new-look Bruins to the world as they battle against head coach Tosh Lupoi's Golden Bears. The Bruins still have some core pieces from last season like star quarterback Nico Iamalaeava, but Chesney brought plenty of star power with him from James Madison, which should be on full display.

Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage admitted he was unhappy with his side's defensive display despite their 3-2 victory over Fulham.
Palace secured all three points in a closely fought contest thanks to a double from Tyrick Mitchell and winner from substitute Ben Chilwell.
But Sage acknowledged Fulham had enough chances to win the game and believes his side have plenty to improve on.
"The result is positive but I am aware of the game, but sometimes it is like this, you have to take the points," Sage said.
"We didn't play as we expected, I'm happy but disappointed for the other team and the coach because they had opportunities [to win] too.

Man City moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League after squeezing past Coventry 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium, although Enzo Maresca's side were made to work considerably harder than they might have expected.
Erling Haaland scored the decisive goal, his third of the season, while Elliot Anderson produced another commanding midfield display. Coventry remained within touching distance throughout and came close to stealing a point late on.
City had already received a warning before taking the lead, with Gianluigi Donnarumma required to intervene as Coventry threatened.
A late change had brought Enzo Fernandez into the starting XI after Nico O'Reilly suffered an injury during the warm up, and Fernandez quickly settled into proceedings.
His pass released Antoine ****** yo, whose delivery was met by Haaland. The Norwegian produced a powerful header to put Man City ahead and seemingly establish the platform for a more comfortable afternoon.

I love to sail. And, yes, I've been known to "rock." I've even meet a few rockstars over the years. (Just please don't tell my 14-year-old son I said so. He already thinks I'm pretty cringe.) I've met a few royals and attended some very cool art exhibitions over the years too.
But I've never been to a modern art exhibition that combines rockstars, yachts and all sorts of royalty quite like the event was held to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing at the oh-so-authentic Thomas Macy Warehouse on the island. And lots of well-connected people who love the ocean, yachts, and art were there to see Kos Evans's expanded Rock and Royals modern art collection. It features one-of-a-kind images of legendary rockstars and all sorts of royalty who sail, on rare, one-of-a-kind sailcloth from yachts owned by the likes of Pete Townshend, the Prince of Monaco, and American royalty such as JFK too.

On August 18, Himax Technologies (NASDAQ:HIMX) said its WiseEye palm vein biometric technology now powers the WAFERLOCK L322, a smart lock built by Taiwan-based WAFERLOCK Corporation that just went on sale. Instead of scanning a fingerprint or a face, the lock reads the vein pattern under a user's palm, a method Himax says still works when hands are wet, dirty, or full of groceries. The announcement lands less than two weeks after Himax posted a second quarter that beat its own guidance on revenue, margin, and profit, giving the palm vein rollout a stronger financial backdrop than it might otherwise have had.
The WAFERLOCK deal shows what Himax has been building toward with WiseEye, an ultralow-power AI platform that pairs an image sensor and processor to capture, match, and verify a palm vein image directly on the device, without sending anything to the cloud. That matters for a smart lock, where sending biometric data offsite would be a hard sell to homeowners. The L322 pairs palm vein recognition with RFID cards, PIN codes, mechanical keys, and compatibility with EasyCard, iPASS, and MIFARE, so the biometric layer sits on top of access methods people already use.
Himax said the underlying palm vein modules earned TÜV Rheinland verification during the quarter, validating their recognition accuracy, response speed, and liveness detection, and that the technology also complies with GDPR, one of the world's strictest privacy standards. Design-in activity is already spreading beyond locks into workforce management, computer monitors, and smart office equipment.
Automotive remains the larger story sitting underneath it. Automotive display drivers, timing controllers, and touch controllers made up well over half of Himax's revenue in the quarter ended June 30, and the company expects full-year 2026 automotive IC sales to grow by double digits from a year earlier as automakers pack more, larger, and higher-resolution screens into vehicle interiors.
Alongside that base, Himax pointed to two newer bets: a leading global brand launched smart glasses powered by WiseEye during the quarter, and the company's co-packaged optics products entered engineering production ramps in the third quarter, with 2027 shipments expected to significantly exceed 2026. Neither business moves the revenue needle yet, but together they give Himax more than one lever to pull.

It wasn't always sunshine for Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams since entering the NFL. Coming off an electric final collegiate season where Williams would tear his ACL in the National Championship game, his professional career in Detroit got off to a slower start than most anticipated. And if you are reading this, you are likely aware of the ****** ps in the road over the course of Williams' first few years in the league.
However, that all feels like a distant memory now. After consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2024 and 2025, Williams had himself one heck of a training camp. Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News wrote a great story on Williams, his ability to spread joy, and how Lions coach Dan Campbell never stopped believing.
"He loves ball, and you can't hide that," said Campbell of his electric wide receiver. "I mean, that's not fake. You don't fake that. I mean, it's just unbridled enthusiasm."
When you watch Williams around the game, whether it's under the bright lights of Ford Field, or in front of a few thousand fans at the Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park, his joy for the game always is on display.

Dublin blessed Taylor and opponent Flora Pili with some early autumn sun as they weighed in at Trinity College before Saturday's undisputed light-welterweight battle at a sold-out Croke Park.
Taylor has not missed weight once in her 26-fight career and she was not going to buck the trend as she was greeted by adoring fans - many whom have followed her career since she won Olympic gold in 2012.

"WWE SmackDown" is in Cleveland on this Friday, Sept. 4, headlined by a surprise CM Punk vs. Johnny Gargano world ****** le match. For Gargano, the match is his first since April. Follow tonight's "WWE SmackDown" live results and play-by-play of the action here.
Gargano has been sporadically planking ever since his longtime best frenemy, Tommaso Ciampa, left WWE for AEW in January. Tag-team action will also be on display in both the men's and women's divisions, starting with the WWE debut of Kyoki (formerly NJPW's Hiromu Takahashi). The ****** anese superstar debuts alongside Shinsuke Nakamura to form the Bakusai team and take on The Miz & Kit Wilson. After that, Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley take on the Women's Tag Team Champions, Fatal Influence, in a non-title match.
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton will also rekindle their old rivalry in a singles match, while Giulia and Blake Monroe are scheduled once again for a match.

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Manchester City are locked in a three-way battle for Atletico Madrid winger Alex Baena. It is believed that the Mancunian giants would have to rival Newcastle United and Aston Villa in the race to land the Spanish wide player.
Baena has made an excellent start to this campaign as he put in a few productive displays for Atletico Madrid in the final third. The 25-year-old has scored three goals and grabbed one ***** ist in three appearances for Diego Simeone's side in the league.
The Spanish talent is currently among the most talented wingers in La Liga. Hence, Man City would do well to lure him to the Etihad Stadium next year.
His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Mancunian giants to snap him up on the cheap this January or at the end of the campaign.

Divine Mukasa's goal was one which fully displayed his undoubted talent and poise.

Bellingham's performances, and the freedom he has been given in his new role, has attracted a lot of attention.

Communities across North Yorkshire are preparing to welcome the Tour of Britain men's cycling race on Saturday.
The fourth stage of the men's tour will start in Helmsley, with the cyclists travelling through Ripon on their way to the Yorkshire Dales before finishing in Leyburn.
Stretching approximately 103 miles (166km) with 8,800ft (2,699m) of elevation, it is expected to be the race's most challenging day and "could play a key role in deciding the overall winner" of the competition, according to British Cycling.
Almost £10,000 has been awarded to towns and villages along the route to enable them to create community displays and decorations celebrating the race's visit to the area.
After setting off from Helmsley in the North York Moors at 11:00 BST, the route passes through the towns of Easingwold at 11:35 and Boroughbridge at about 11:55, before reaching Ripon at about 12:20 and then heading into the Yorkshire Dales.

Kris Boyd has delivered a brutal verdict on the £2.5m Rangers centre-back after a shaky display against Falkirk, arguing that his uncertainty spread through the Rangers defence during Wednesday's 2-1 Premiership win.
The Glasgow Times reported Boyd's comments, made during Sky Sports coverage, after Emmanuel Fernandez endured a difficult night despite his side taking all three points. Boyd focused on the opening half incident that led to Falkirk's equaliser. Fernandez followed an opponent too far, went down looking for a foul and left ******* e behind him. Ethan Ross then delivered the cross, with Kosta Nedeljkovic turning it into his own net.
Boyd saw little excuse for Fernandez's decision-making. He pointed to a loose square pass after the interval, when Jacob Murrell intercepted inside the penalty area before Ivor Pandur rescued Rangers with a save.
He said: "There's a tug, but I'd be more disappointed that my centre-back goes in and attempts to tackle like that.
"It summed up Emmanuel Fernandez's first half. He was really, really sloppy with the ball. You speak about good players making the people around them better — he's the opposite.
