Enes Kanter has been asked how many points he thinks he would be scoring in the WNBA if he were allowed to compete.
Kanter declared for the 2027 WNBA draft over the summer and has now spoken to Piers Morgan about the league and the ongoing transgender athlete debate.
When doing so, he suggested he could destroy the current NBA single-game scoring record, which is held by Wilt Chamberlain.

Morgan asked: "I mean just in pure cold hard reality if you were to play in the WNBA in an average game, how many points do you think you'd score?"

Following the passing of its legendary founder, Dollywood has revealed its plans for a permanent memorial to honor Dolly Parton,
Eugene Naughton, Dollywood Parks & Resorts President, shared the details in a press release on September 2.
"Many of us had extensive conversations with Dolly through the years about how she would want us to carry her vision forward," explained Naughton. "Dollywood will always be a place where families find fun, kindness, and joy — a place where they can make memories that last a lifetime, just like she would have wanted. We will carry her dreams forward by continuing to grow, welcoming even more guests, and sharing the warmth and hospitality of which she was so proud."
Additionally, Dollywood will construct new "experiences and installations that honor [Parton's] remarkable contributions, enduring values, and love for the people and places of the Great Smoky Mountains." The vision is to give guests "meaningful opportunities to reflect on Dolly's life, her faith, and her influence while experiencing the joy, imagination, and togetherness that have always been at the heart of her vision for Dollywood."
The Sevierville Chamber of Commerce is launching "In Dolly's Footsteps," a walking tour in Tennessee featuring historic markers at places Dolly Parton and her family frequented during her childhood.

Days after Dolly Parton was laid to rest, reports began to emerge online that her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame had allegedly been vandalized.
Ana Martinez, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's senior vice president of media and talent relations, told TMZ that a fan reported that someone had attempted to scratch off her name on the star and stole flowers from the makeshift memorial on Aug. 31.
On Sept. 1, crew members with the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains the stars on the Walk of Fame, could be seen beginning restoration of Parton's star.
Martinez told ABC 7 that the trust had already planned to replace Parton's star due to existing cracks from its years on the walkway.
USA TODAY has reached out to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for comment.

On August 17, Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) launched a new manufacturing workforce commitment in Arkansas, a modest headline next to the numbers coming out of its other businesses. Just two weeks earlier, the company posted its first-ever $20 billion sales quarter, and a fast-growing power generation arm is quietly becoming its most important source of growth. Together, these threads point to a company reshaping itself well beyond its bulldozer roots, and a stock market that has already started pricing in the shift.
Caterpillar's power and energy division brought in more than $8.2 billion in the second quarter, a 17% jump from a year earlier that pushed it almost even with the $8.3 billion generated by the company's traditional construction segment. Its operating profit, at just over $2 billion, actually topped construction's, a sign that demand from data centers building out AI infrastructure carries real pricing power. Caterpillar's order backlog stood at $72 billion at the end of June, up 92% from a year earlier, suggesting this shift has room to keep running.
The broader business backed that up. Sales and revenues for the quarter reached $20.5 billion, up 24% from $16.6 billion a year earlier, the first time Caterpillar has crossed $20 billion in a single quarter. Profit per share rose to $7.77, while adjusted operating margin expanded to 21.9% from 17.6%. Alongside $4.4 billion in operating cash flow, the company kept investing in the workforce feeding that growth. The Arkansas commitment, worth up to $3 million, is the fifth allocation under Caterpillar's five-year, $100 million Building the Future Workforce Initiative, following earlier launches in Indiana, Texas and Illinois. It brings in training partners including the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College and the Little Rock Regional Chamber around a North Little Rock plant that already employs more than 530 people and works with 60 suppliers in the state.
None of that growth comes cheap. Caterpillar shares have climbed nearly 90% over the past year on AI-driven optimism, pushing the forward price-to-earnings ratio above 30. That makes the stock more expensive than Microsoft, Alphabet or Nvidia, three companies most investors would call the faces of the AI boom rather than a maker of generators and mining trucks. For decades, Caterpillar traded below the S&P 500's long-run average multiple because its construction business tends to grow in the single digits, a pattern that made the market wary of paying up for the name.

A fresh Labour tax raid on the North Sea would cause "lasting damage" to Britain's oil and gas industry, bosses have warned.
John Healey, the Chancellor, is facing backlash over plans to extend a windfall tax on UK oil and gas profits, with energy chiefs claiming this would destroy investment and accelerate job losses.
Russell Borthwick, the chief executive of the chamber of commerce in Aberdeen, which represents the likes of BP and Shell, said another tax raid would cripple an industry "which Britain cannot afford to lose".
Labour already taxes oil and gas profits at 78pc under an existing windfall levy which Rachel Reeves, the former chancellor, previously extended from 2028 to 2030.
Under a more punitive regime, Mr Healey could increase the levy and extend it beyond 2030, as reported by The Telegraph.

Billie Eilish stood between her brother Finneas and Claudia Sulewski as they exchanged vows Saturday, taking on a considerably bigger wedding ****** ignment than simply showing up for the family photos.
Eilish officiated the Aug. 29 outdoor ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, where Finneas and Sulewski married after nearly eight years together. Photos published by Page Six show the 24-year-old singer standing between the bride and groom as Finneas read his vows.
The couple's rescue dogs, Peaches and Moose, had jobs of their own. They joined the celebration as "flower dogs," wearing custom bows made from the same silk faille used for Sulewski's wedding gown. Finneas and Eilish's parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, were also there to watch their son get married.
The guest list included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Emma Chamberlain, Rachel Sennott, Rebecca Black and Jason Sudeikis. Sulewski turned the weekend into a fashion project of its own with four custom Oscar de la Renta looks, while Finneas wore a black suit and Eilish chose an off-the-shoulder green dress for her role at the altar.
TMZ footage and photographs show her facing Finneas and Sulewski during the ceremony and confirm that Peaches and Moose were part of the celebration. The dogs' participation had been planned down to their outfits. During Sulewski's final fitting, Oscar de la Renta designer Grace McCoy revealed two silk faille bows cut from the same material as the ceremony gown. Sulewski explained that Moose would walk ahead of Peaches when the pair went down the aisle as flower dogs.

In less than one week, the Virginia Tech Hokies are back in action. It will be the first game for new head coach James Franklin when the VMI Keydets come to Lane Stadium to open the 2026 season.
Saturday's game will also feature the re-debut of defensive coordinator Brent Pry. Pry was Virginia Tech's head coach for the past four seasons, but was fired last season after an 0-3 start. Pry is excited to be back in Blacksburg, and in the offseason retained Virginia Tech's top defensive players from a year ago: defensive tackle Kemari Copeland, linebackers Noah Chambers and Kaleb Spencer and safety Quentin Reddish.
Speaking of Reddish, the Virginia Tech secondary has an interesting blend of returning players and newcomers.
We conclude our 2026 season preview today with a look at the secondary.

The Indianapolis Colts have completely revamped their defense, and nothing emphasizes that more than comparing last season's initial 53-man roster with this season's initial 53-man roster. While there are only six new players on the offense this season, there are 15 new players on the defense.
Offensively, there are no new additions at quarterback or tight end. Indianapolis has one new running back behind Jonathan Taylor in rookie seventh-rounder Seth McGowan.
On the offensive line, there are two new additions - Jalen Farmer, a 2026 draft pick, and Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, whom the Colts acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. Both players are considered depth pieces.
At wide receiver, they traded Michael Pittman away to the Pittsburgh Steelers. But there are three new additions - seasoned veteran Keenan Allen, seventh-round pick Deion Burks, and veteran Laquon Treadwell, who spent the beginning of the 2024 and 2025 seasons on the practice squad.
Defensively, the Colts have an entirely new linebacker room with the exception of Jaylon Carlies, who started last season on injured reserve (IR). Their other five linebackers - CJ Allen, Bryce Boettcher, Akeem Davis-Gaither, Austin Ajiake and Tahj Chambers - are all new to the initial 53-man roster.

Claudia Sulewski didn't settle for one spectacular wedding dress when she married Finneas O'Connell. She had an entire bridal wardrobe.
The 30-year-old actress, content creator and Cyklar beauty founder married Billie Eilish's older brother Finneas, 29, in a romantic outdoor ceremony in Montecito, California, on Saturday, August 29, following eight years together.
Claudia began her wedding weekend in an understated satin gown (@ Instagram)
And while the couple's nuptials attracted an impressively star-studded guest list, including Hailey and Justin Bieber, Nina Dobrev, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard and Emma Chamberlain, Claudia's four custom Oscar de la Renta creations provided plenty of fashion drama of their own.
The bride worked with the legendary American fashion house on a different outfit for each stage of her celebrations: the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, first dance and reception, and after-party.

The Indianapolis Colts' initial 53-man roster is set, and it came with a pair of surprise additions.
Making the Colts' roster were linebacker Tahj Chambers and defensive tackle Tim Smith -- two players we did not hear a lot about this summer.
Chambers signed with the Colts after the 2026 NFL draft as a UDFA. He played 38 defensive snaps in the preseason, holding up well in the run game, but his impact during the regular season will likely come on special teams.
Smith, meanwhile, was a sixth-round pick by the Colts in 2025. He spent last season on the practice squad, where he was elevated for one game in Week 10, but did not play any snaps.
He finished the preseason with three pressures and eight run stops, according to PFF.

Aug. 30—MADISON, S.D. — The Chamber of Commerce traveling trophy is staying in Madison.
Dakota State struck back in its non-conference rivalry with Dakota Wesleyan to kick off the college football season, reclaiming the upper hand in the series with a 35-27 victory on Saturday night at Brian Kern Family Stadium.
DSU now holds an 8-7 edge in the trophy series and hasn't lost to DWU in Madison since 2015, a streak of five straight home wins.
However, what started as a rout for the 25th-ranked Trojans nearly turned into an improbable Tiger comeback.
From down three scores at halftime and down two scores twice in the fourth quarter, DWU got the ball back with under a minute to play and an opportunity to tie the game, though backed up to its own 1-yard line. It took a third Trojan interception of the fourth quarter to put the Tigers away for good.

Josh Chambers: Joe Mazzulla says his goal as Celtics coach is to be forgotten "If the people around you didn't do what they do… I wouldn't do anything. The thing I reflect on the most is… I think you have to be willing to be forgotten. I think that's kind of my main goal." "I want to be forgotten about. Because that means after you… It was better. I think that's what it means to be a Celtic. However long you play, coach, work for the Celtics…" "Your job is to keep it exactly where it's at or bring it better. You cannot bring it down. If you leave and it gets worse, that's your fault. If you leave and they win, and they forgot about you, you did your job." "I talk about that every day with the staff. Our job is to one day be forgotten about because you did your job. It became about something bigger than you." "It's a burden and a love for being with the Celtics… But it's a responsibility. I think we could take that into our daily life. Can I leave it so much better that they don't remember me because the next person came and was better?"

And I think he really loved Portugal. I think the thing he liked the most was the food. It was a good time. He came alone, but he said next year he's coming with his wife and kids. We'll welcome them with open arms," Queta revealed. As for his expectations for the Celtics next season, Queta expects them to "be competitive again." President Donald Trump has never taken kindly to losing elections. He's often tried to explain it away by citing bogus claims of mass voter fraud.
But ahead of the 2026 midterm election, he appears to be lining up another culprit and scapegoat: his fellow Republicans.
Repeatedly in recent weeks, Trump has suggested that if congressional Republicans lose big in November, they will have themselves to blame — and certainly not him.
This is ridiculous, of course. Trump is historically unpopular and appears to have alienated many voters even in his own party in ways that clearly harm the GOP's midterm hopes. Congressional Republicans could certainly have insulated themselves better from Trump's problems and stood up more to his excesses, but he would clearly shoulder the lion's share of the blame.
Regardless, though, Trump blaming the GOP for its own losses — if they do indeed lose control of either chamber — would set up a very interesting intraparty clash at a particularly sensitive time. It would come as it's licking its wounds from a bad election and perhaps considering a new path forward from the Trump era.

Former Cardiff City forward Nathan Blake believes the Bluebirds are right not to rush into the market for a centre-back despite their defensive injury crisis.
Cardiff were without a senior option at centre-back for Saturday's 2-2 draw at Derby County, and could be in a similar boat when they host Norwich in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Dylan Lawlor, Calum Chambers, Will Fish and Gabriel Osho are all out injured, but Blake feels his old side should still exercise caution on the transfer front.
"I understand if they do [sign someone], but I would also understand if they were slightly reluctant, because once everyone is fit, you're back to having five or six centre-halves," he said on the BBC's Feast of Football podcast.

Brian Barry-Murphy says Cardiff City must look after their fit defenders when they host Norwich City in the EFL Cup second round on Tuesday (19:00 GMT).
The Bluebirds are in the midst of an early-season injury crisis at the back, with Dylan Lawlor, Calum Chambers, Will Fish and Gabriel Osho on the sidelines.
The absence of the four senior central defenders meant Barry-Murphy was forced to play right-back Perry Ng and left-back Joel Bagan in central defence at Derby County last Saturday, with Ronan Kpakio and Calum Scanlon the starting full-backs.
Cardiff's only defensive option on the bench at Pride Park was 15-year-old Noah Anyadike, who could come into contention for a debut against Norwich.
Barry-Murphy may then look to Cardiff's under-21 squad for further back-up players as he attempts to protect his frontline options before next weekend's Championship meeting with Sheffield United.

Several months after recounting the harrowing details of her abduction in a Netflix documentary, Elizabeth Smart has launched a podcast to give survivors of violent crimes a chance to tell their own stories.
In "The Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart," which launched on Aug. 17, Smart provides a platform for survivors to open up about what they endured, the aftermath and the continual healing process, as The New York Times reported.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to help share these stories and introduce you to the people behind them," Smart said in a Facebook post announcing the podcast.
The first episode features an interview with Kara Robinson Chamberlain, who escaped from a serial killer when she was 15 years old.
In a brief clip from the podcast shared on social media, Robinson recounts the moment she was being kidnapped and how she asked the kidnapper what he was doing.

Rewind a few weeks and Liverpool were facing a centre-back crisis.
Virgil van Dijk didn't travel for the preseason tour to the United States leaving head coach Andoni Iraola with a dearth of viable options.
Jeremy Jacquet was still struggling with injury - along with Giovanni Leoni - while Joe Gomez's injury on tour added to the problems.
With Ibrahima Konate departed for Real Madrid we saw Mor Talla Ndiaye, Ifeanyi Ndukwe and even Luke Chambers all entrusted with starting duties.
Given Ndukwe wouldn't be eligible for the season ahead owing to visa issues this was a far from ideal scenario. But the picture has eased somewhat since then.

Coinbase (COIN) stock languished below resistance at a key level Tuesday after the cryptocurrency exchange's recent quarterly loss prompted sellers to exit the stock.
For the second quarter, Coinbase swung to a loss of $1.36 per share year over year. ***** ysts targeted a loss of 41 cents per share on sales of $1.3 billion. Regulatory developments could stoke a much-needed lift to Coinbase shares. However, this month, the Senate failed to vote on a salient cryptocurrency market-structure bill called the Digital ***** et Market Clarity Act. The bill seeks to remove regulatory oversight from securities regulators for most crypto trading.
In June, Coinbase stock hit a new low, then reversed higher in July amid hopes the Clarity Act would pass Congress' upper chamber. But the Senate's recess in August punctured those hopes, and a vote remains pending.

Head coach Brian Barry-Murphy says his Cardiff City squad is "vulnerable" after centre-back Gabriel Osho joined their list of fitness concerns.
Osho was seen on crutches after the 1-1 draw with Wrexham on Monday due to a knee issue.
The Championship side are already without fellow defenders Will Fish, Dylan Lawlor and Calum Chambers and have had to move established full-backs into central defence this season.
Left-back Joel Bagan started the Wrexham game in a central role and Perry Ng, who normally operates at right-back, did the same in the EFL Cup win over Swindon.
"We're in a situation at the moment where we're a little bit stretched, so we're a little bit vulnerable, but we feel as if we can be really competitive at the start of the season," Barry-Murphy said.

Fifty-four percent of U.S. households saved no money last month, EY-Parthenon found in a survey, highlighting how the rising price for gasoline and other goods is undermining consumers' buying power.
One out of five households spent more than it earned and tapped debt or savings to cover expenses, EY-Parthenon said. Seventy-two percent of consumers identified dining out, apparel, beauty and personal care, and other discretionary categories as candidates for spending cuts.
"Many households are maintaining stability through spending trade-offs, delayed purchases and the use of savings or debt," Mark Chambers, the retail sector leader for EY Americas, said in a statement, while noting consumers' "resilience."
Consumers are altering their outlays to cope with persistent price pressures. Inflation rose 3.4% on an annual basis last month after increasing 3.5% in June, even as energy prices during July fell 1.5%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Wednesday.

Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Trump administration may look to the Supreme Court for help in a fight over state voter rolls.
"Absolutely it's a possibility. Election integrity is something that President Trump ran on. And the American people elected him," Blanche told NBC News's Kristen Welker on "Meet the Press" in a Sunday interview when asked about taking the fight to the Supreme Court.
"It's something that every American should care about. And so the idea that the Department of Justice is trying to investigate issues around elections to make sure they're fair and make sure they're conducted the right way is not something that we should be running away from. That's something we should be running right towards," he added.
The Department of Justice has sued multiple states for not handing over sensitive, private voter data as requested. However, it has recently lost multiple cases in attempting to get that data.
Those moves come ahead of the 2026 midterms, which could be consequential for President Trump if Democrats win control of either or both chambers of Congress, which they appear poised to do.
