It seems as though King Charles III's letter about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's involvement in the monarchy has already done some damage — whether it was meant to or not.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba declared on X that Uganda, which is part of the Commonwealth of Nations, did not want its participation in the annual Invictus Games to be "construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere."
"We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty's approval," Kainerugaba, who is the son of the Ugandan president and head of the country's armed forces, added.
After it was revealed that Uganda had dropped out of the international sporting competition, which the Duke of Sussex, 41, founded in 2014, a source told People that the king's letter issued by Lord Chamberlain was to blame.
"They made it very clear that the reason they pulled out was a direct result of perceived guidance from the Lord Chamberlain," a source close to the Spare author said in the Thursday, September 10, report.
