DrewDober credits TerenceCrawford with helping him adjust his approach against RafaelAlves.

Dober met Crawford at B&B Boxing in Omaha, Nebraska, andrecalls the boxer leaving him bloodied during their first sparringsession. Years later, Crawford offered advice from ringside thatDober says helped him finish Alves at UFC277 in Dallas.
Dober said Crawford switched to southpaw to mirror his stance andbloodied his nose with a jab. He recalled absorbing three punchesfor every one he attempted to throw.

"Terence Crawford bloodied my nose in the first 30 seconds of ourspar. I was a young fighter in a North Omaha gym," Dober wrote onX. "Never heard of the guy they called 'Bud.' He saw I was asouthpaw, switched to southpaw too, and stuck me with one jab. Iwas bleeding like a stuck pig."

Crawford attended Dober's fight against Alves at UFC 277 in 2022.Dober said he struggled to connect cleanly because of Alves' headmovement. As he returned to his corner after the opening round, henoticed Crawford calling from the front row and urging him toattack the body.

Dober followed that advice, finding success in the second roundbefore knocking out Alves with a body punch in the third.

"In the fight against RafaelAlves, I'm trying to hit him in the face, I'm throwing punchesand this man has amazing head movement…" Dober recalled. "After thefirst round, I'm going over to my corner and I see Terence Crawfordin that front row. And he's just yelling at me, 'Drew, Drew.' So, Ilook at him and he goes, 'Go to the body, go to the body.' I waslike, if Crawford says it. So, in the second round, I started goingto the body and started finding success. So, in the third round, Ithrew a liver shot and I dropped him with that liver shot."

Dober (29-15, 1 NC) has won his last two fights by stoppage andwill face ChrisDuncan (15-3) at UFC334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Quarterback Josh Hoover came to Indiana knowing that in coach Curt Cignetti's program, toughness isn't optional.
He looked the picture of Hoosier grit as Indiana's new starter Saturday.
He threw four touchdown passes, had only three incompletions, finished with no turnovers and delivered an indelible image during Saturday's 52-16 victory over North Texas that is a lock to make this season's highlights — his bloodied face and chin strap, after an opponent yanked hard on his facemask.
Hoover never flinched.
"It feels good, I just got a little cut there," he said, referring to his injured nose. "It looked way worse than it felt. I didn't even know it was bleeding like that, so, yeah, I feel good. I think it did me a favor, though. It looked worse than it was, so they were like 'Hey, this guy's tough,' but it didn't really do anything."

Silvestre Sanchez may have punched his way to a UFC deal.
At Dana White's Contender Series 90 on Tuesday, Mexico's Silvestre (10-1) proved the oddsmakers wrong as he finished England's Liam McCracken (8-2) with a big left hook to close their lightweight bout at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. The stoppage came at 2:44 of Round 3.
The fight was competitive with both men having their moments. Silvestre seemed a step ahead, and bloodied McCracken in Round 2. A looping punch floored McCracken midway through the final round, and a glancing hammerfist finished off the job.
The finish got a big reaction out of UFC CEO Dana White and CBO Hunter Campbell.
Sanchez, 24, carved out his reputation on the Mexican regional scene with standout performances for Lux Fight League. Tuesday's win was the fourth knockout of his pro career. He has five career submissions as well.

Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let's start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026.
Charles Oliveira shoots down UFC ****** le eliminators against Arman, Paddy Pimblett — 'I'm next in line … I can wait': Oliveira is extremely popular and accomplished, so a ****** le shot next is possible. But, Arman or Paddy could jump him with an impressive win, so this is a gamble.
Contender Series fighter who upset Bella Mir forced to cut celebration short — 'I have work in the morning': Given that this was only Alex Apodaca's fifth pro fight at 32 years of age, having another job makes a whole lot of sense!
UFC super prospect (and historic betting favorite) Bella Mir bloodied, beaten in biggest upset in Contender Series history: I do expect Bella Mir to bounce back from this in the long run (should she choose to focus on MMA moving forward).

This weekend, Moses Itauma will fight Filip Hrgovic for the vacant IBF heavyweight ****** le, with a piece of history on the line.
If Itauma wins, the Briton will become the youngest world heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson, who broke the record 40 years ago.
And Itauma, 21, will enter Saturday's main event full of confidence, with a 14-0 (12 KOs) record to his name, having stopped Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin in his last two bouts.

Hrgovic is a seasoned heavyweight, however, an Olympic medalist who has lost just once as a pro. The Croatian, 34, was bloodied by Daniel Dubois to the point of a stoppage in 2024, but he has since beaten three Britons in a row.

Former TOPGUN pilot Matthew "Whiz" Buckley told Fox News Digital that the recent crash of a Marine Corps F-18 in Washington state — and the pilot's split-second decision to eject — highlights both the violence of the maneuver and how the ensuing shock can leave an aviator feeling eerily calm.
On June 13, 2026, Marine Corps Maj. Jackson Simon emerged from a wooded area with a bloodied face and walked down the road toward a Yakima County sheriff's deputy, whose bodycam captured the pilot appearing remarkably composed.
"I'm a little frazzled," was about as close as Simon came to expressing fear after his F-18 Hornet crashed into the forest and sparked a small wildfire near Rimrock Lake.
Buckley, who flew F-18 Hornets during his 15-year career in the U.S. Navy, said Simon was likely experiencing a combination of shock, an adrenaline letdown and the effects of training that teaches pilots to compartmentalize under pressure.

Cris Cyborg defended her PFL featherweight ******* le against Ketlen Vieira—who was ineligible to win the ******* le due to missing weight by seven pounds—in the main event of PFL Tampa, which went down Saturday night in Florida, and appears to be far from done in combat sports.
Early on, Cyborg attacked Vieira with jabs to the body, but had a hard time finding the distance to even secure a takedown against her heavier opponent. Cyborg hurt Vieira with a calf kick in Round 2, but the Nova União fighter fired back to rock her late in the round.
Cyborg entered Round 3 focused on takedowns, scoring points with heavy ground-and-pound while Vieira tried to close guard and threaten with armbars. Vieira's success on the feet made Cyborg once again clinch and go for takedowns, but Vieira countered a takedown with a judo throw to leave Cyborg bloodied with ground-and-pound of her own.
The final stanza began and Cyborg scored a takedown early, but Vieira quickly got back to her feet and then took the champion down. Cyborg only managed to get back up with 90 seconds left on the clock, and from that point on they traded blows until the final horn sounded.
Cyborg and Vieira combined for 308 strikes over five rounds of action at Benchmark International Arena, and all three judges scored it for Cyborg (49-46, 48-47, 49-46). The longtime veteran now enters free agency with a 30-2 record and a 10-fight win streak, and is now undefeated for nearly eight years.

A Russian court on Monday convicted a prominent opposition politician for speaking out against the war in Ukraine and sentenced him to 11 years and one month in prison in the latest crackdown leading up to next month's parliamentary election.
The verdict against Lev Shlosberg, a senior member of the Yabloko party, was another step by the Kremlin to stifle dissent since Russia invaded its neighbor in February 2022. Yabloko is the only official political party overtly opposing the war.
Shlosberg, 63, is Yabloko's deputy chairman and served in the regional legislature of Pskov from 2016-21. He stood trial in the city of Pskov, some 600 kilometers (370 miles) northwest of Moscow, on charges of "discrediting" and spreading "false information" about the Russian military.
The charges stemmed from a debate in which he called for ending the war and from posting on his Telegram channel a British tabloid front page featuring an image of a bloodied woman next to one of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the headline: "Her blood ... his hands." Shlosberg has rejected the charges as unfounded.
It was the second trial for Shlosberg in the last two years. He has also been designated a "foreign agent," a label that carries strong pejorative connotations in Russia and brings additional government scrutiny. He was convicted of violating the foreign agent regulations.

The F/A-18 Hornet aircraft slammed into a mountainside on June 13, in the area of Rimrock Lake, about 55 miles southeast of Seattle, sending a plume of black smoke into the air and igniting a wildfire.
The pilot ****** igned to Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, in Miramar, California, is seen with his face bloodied and appearing a little shaken up in the body camera footage released Friday by the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

Police have been called to Perez Hilton's Miami home after he shared what appeared to be a self-harm video to TikTok.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Tuesday night that they had received "multiple calls" of "an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media" and dispatched deputies to investigate.
Officers spoke with Hilton's family members who were on the scene and ultimately decided to "tactfully disengage" while continuing to "monitor the situation" after confirming the celebrity blogger was alone inside.
"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance and opportunities for communication," the Sheriff's Office shared in a statement to Page Six.
"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies and the public," the statement continued.
Hilton had reportedly appeared on the livestream naked, bloodied and distressed. The video was reportedly available on TikTok for around 30 minutes before it was taken down, and his account has since been suspended.

The rising sun bathes the rolling Herefordshire hillsides in a warm glow as birds gently chirp and sheep graze in the fields.
But this rural idyll is shattered by the sound of explosions, followed by plumes of smoke and ear-splitting screams.
Six camouflaged men rush to the scene to find a soldier howling for help as he clutches his bloodied leg, half of which appears to have been blown off.
Thankfully, the blood is fake and this is an actor - albeit a former soldier and amputee - and the first responders are a group of football coaches studying for their Uefa Pro Licence, the sport's highest coaching qualification.

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday's card in Las Vegas, including one to the co-main event winner.
After UFC 329, four fighters picked up an extra $100,000 for their performances at T-Mobile Arena. Additionally, eight fighters got $25,000 extra checks for finishes that weren’t bonus-winners.
Check out the list of winners below.
Brandon Royval (18-9 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and Lone'er Kavanagh (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) put on one of the best flyweight fights in company history on the main card. Royval, a former ******* le challenger, was plenty bloodied up by Kavanagh — and vice versa — by the time they entered the third round. But after back-and-forth scrambles both on the canvas and on the feet the first 10 minutes, Royval took over on the mat late and locked up a body triangle and rear-naked choke that forced Kavanagh to tap.
Paddy Pimblett (24-4 MMA, 8-1 UFC) could not have asked for a better performance than he gave in the co-main event when he put Benoit Saint Denis (17-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) to sleep with a D’Arce choke less than a minute into their lightweight contenders bout. He predicted before the fight that BSD would shoot and he’d put him to sleep – and he did just that.

The UFC Freedom 250 main event was memorable for many reasons.
Justin Gaethje became the undisputed UFC lightweight champion by leaving Ilia Topuria on his stool after the conclusion of Round 4. It was a spectacular comeback from an early scare, as Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) was badly hurt by a Topuria (17-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) body shot.
Resilient as ever, Gaethje managed to weather the storm, and turn the tide of the fight in Round 3, leaving Topuria battered and bloodied like never before. There was controversy with a ringside doctor attempting to call the fight off, but after some debating, the fight continued into Round 4. That's where Gaethje continued to add damage to the previously unbeaten Topuria. The fight would conclude before Round 5, after Topuria's corner called the fight off.
In a special behind-the-scenes documentary, "UFC Fight House: The Biggest Fight in History" by Fox Nation, the stoppage was captured, along with UFC CEO Dana White and US president Donald Trump's immediate reactions to the main event's final moments.
You can watch a clip of the documentary in the video above. The full video, which takes a special look at the event's early planning stages through to its completion, is available on Fox Nation.

Malik Tillman provided the U.S. men's national team — and its fans — the opportunity to exhale when his 82nd-minute free kick found the back of the net as 10-man U.S. beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0, securing its place in the round of 16.
When Tillman stepped up to his late free kick, his right foot was bloodied — cut from getting stepped on earlier in the game. That right foot had no problem curling his shot over the wall and past Bosnia goalie Nikola Vasilj.
ARMOUR: USA just won the kind of game America can't resist
"I was in pain, but my shoe was cut, so this is why I changed it," Tillman said postgame, sporting a blood-soaked sock. "Yeah, someone stepped on it. It's just pain, I guess. Feeling better now."
Tillman was a standout performer once again for the Americans during this World Cup. His all-around game and strong rapport with Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie have really given the U.S. an eye-pleasing dynamic.

Defending champion Jannik Sinner produced another gritty victory to reach the Wimbledon third round, while women's world number one Aryna Sabalenka battled through as Novak Djokovic prepared for action on Centre Court.
Sinner wasn't at his best again but the world number one did just enough to beat Portugual's Nuno Borges 7-6 (7/4), 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 in Wednesday's second-round clash at the All England Club.
The 24-year-old Italian had narrowly avoided an embarrassing first-round exit when he fought back from two sets to one down to beat Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday.
Sinner was left bloodied against Kecmanovic by an awkward fall that injured his right foot.
The four-time Grand Slam champion did not appear impeded by that blow on his return to action in the second round, but he struggled to impose himself against the spirited world number 48.

Jannik Sinner survived a major scare and a bloodied foot to open his Wimbledon ****** le defence with a five-set victory over Miomir Kecmanovic, while Novak Djokovic had to dig deep to beat China's Wu Yibing.
Sinner was pushed to the brink of becoming only the third male defending champion to lose in the Wimbledon first round before battling back to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (6/8), 6-2, 6-3 on Monday.
Trailing by two sets to one, the Italian world number one dug deep to win his first five-set match in his last six attempts.
Sinner's gutsy victory in three hours and 28 minutes was all the more commendable after he injured his right foot in an awkward fall that left his shoe covered in blood.
He let out a shriek of pain and was motionless for several moments before gingerly resuming play.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Freddie Freeman hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the sixth inning after the Tampa Bay Rays scored four runs off a banged-up Shohei Ohtani in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 5-4 win on Wednesday.
Freeman's 407-foot shot to center off reliever Kevin Kelly (4-3) rescued Ohtani, who trailed 4-2 after giving up five hits and four runs in the fifth.
The Dodgers swept the three-game series, just their second-ever sweep of the Rays and first since August 2013.
Ohtani (7-2) left the mound after six innings and was inserted in the bottom of the inning as a pinch hitter for designated hitter Miguel Rojas. Ohtani grounded out on one pitch to end the inning. It was the only at-bat Ohtani got and the Dodgers lost the DH for the rest of the game.
The blister on Ohtani's middle finger of his right hand that he had in Pittsburgh last week got bloodied. The two-way superstar was already dealing with left knee inflammation that manager Dave Roberts said before the game wasn't completely resolved.

Conor McGregor has first-hand experience of suffering a big upset loss in the UFC.
Like McGregor, Ilia Topuria started off his UFC run undefeated and emerged into one of the sport's most popular stars. Topuria took things a step further by becoming the first undefeated dual-champion in UFC history, and was a massive favorite going into Saturday's lightweight ******* le-unification bout against Justin Gaethje (28-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) at UFC Freedom 250 from the White House in Washington.
Topuria (17-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) wound up suffering a doctor's stoppage TKO at the end of Round 4 after being battered and bloodied throughout the fight. McGregor, whose first UFC loss came in a submission to underdog Nate Diaz at UFC 196, reacted to Topuria's loss.
"He quit himself. Sad to see. He earned a nice stripe however tainted, he will get stronger from this beating. What a sport!"
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) returns from a five-year long layoff in a rematch against Max Holloway (27-9 MMA, 23-9 UFC) at UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (Paramount+). With Holloway face planting Gaethje in a dominant knockout win at UFC 300, McGregor is excited for the opportunity to re-make his mark.

On a historic night at the footsteps of the White House, Justin Gaethje pulled off the ultimate American upset.
Despite being cast as a more than 6-to-1 underdog, and despite being roundly dismissed as a lamb led to slaughter on the biggest stage in UFC history, Gaethje did the unthinkable, brutally stopping Ilia Topuria to capture the lightweight ****** le Sunday on the South Lawn in the main event of UFC Freedom 250 in Washington.
Gaethje's feat, considering the circumstances, is among the biggest upsets in UFC history. After a career littered with wars of attrition, the 37-year-old American was widely believed to be past his peak in January heading into an interim ****** le bout against Paddy Pimblett. But Gaethje shined in that moment, and then did so in an even louder way Sunday, upsetting one of the top-ranked pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.
After a brutal back-and-forth battle that left Topuria's face bloodied and badly swollen, the now-former champ's corner called an end to the contest between Rounds 4 and 5.
"Hey, I'm from America. Two hundred and fifty years ago we were way bigger than 6-to-1 dogs, and look at us thriving now," an elated Gaethje shouted in victory.

UFC Freedom 250, staged on Sunday night on the South Lawn of the White House, was mostly an impressive show. The main event, which pitted the second-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Ilia Topuria—the German-born lightweight champion who represents Georgia—against American underdog Justin Gaethje, lived up to its billing. Military personnel on hand chanted “USA! USA! USA!” Gaethje, 37, bloodied Topuria’s face and delivered a wicked knee to his ribs. Meanwhile Topuria, 29, continued to connect on his punches. But after the fourth of five rounds, Topuria’s corner stopped the fight, producing a storybook ending to an event that has roused widespread discussion about the appropriateness of using White House grounds for bloodsport.
The American, in the last stage of his career, prevailed against a younger fighter, in his prime, at the White House, in a celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary. “Hey, I’m from America,” said Gaethje afterwards, a ****** le belt draped over his shoulder. “250 years ago, we were way bigger than 6-to-1 [under]dogs.” UFC commentator Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster who has been calling bouts since 2002, called Gaethje’s victory “one of the great upsets” and “one of the greatest fights” in the history of the sport.
The main event wasn’t the only highlight. President Donald Trump, a longtime fight fan and friend of UFC president and CEO Dana White, sat cageside the day the U.S. and Iran reached an agreement, to be signed on Friday, to end the war that started Feb. 28. Trump saw exciting action in each fight that night. All seven, in fact, ended in a knockout or technical knockout, the first time all fights on a main card ended in knockouts in the nearly 33-year history of the UFC.
On a day that the Weather Channel forecast “rain, 30 mph winds and mosquitos on the White House lawn,” the weather broke the UFC’s way. After a 30-minute delay, the card went forward uninterrupted. The United States Marine Band played catchy live tunes, putting its spin on ditties like “The Boys Are Back In Town” and “YMCA.” Military heroes and first responders from all over the country accompanied fighters to the Octagon.
The White House backdrop, fighters walking out of the Oval Office and down the West Wing for their introductions, the shots of the Washington monument, the massive crowd watching the fight together on the Ellipse, the fireworks: it all made for a compelling sports production.

An NYPD police officer was beaten and 26 people were arrested outside Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan Friday night as thousands of fans celebrated the Knicks’ Game 2 squeaker victory over the San Antonio Spurs, officials said.
The woman officer was repeatedly punched as she tried to stop a female fan who refused to leave following the Knicks’ 105-104 win, jumped a barricade, and ran into a frozen area, officials said.
“The situation was pretty chaotic,” said one NYPD source with knowledge of the incident, adding that the attacked officer was “punched badly” in the face.
The fan, 29-year-old Karely Reyes, was charged with ***** ault, resisting arrest, and obstruction of government administration.

An even dozen! With a 10-point win in Game 1, the New York Knicks extended their win streak to 12 games. The Spurs blew a 14-point lead to let this happen.
San Antonio jumped out to an early held and held a 7-point advantage at halftime. But after a second-half explosion and 30-point game from a bloodied Jalen Brunson, the Knicks ran away with the victory.
Karl-Anthony Towns had an 18-point double-double in this contest, with Josh Hart tacking on 15 rebounds, 6 ***** ists and 4 steals. For the Spurs, Wembanyama went just 6-for-21 from the floor but still managed a 26-point double-double. Julian Champagnie also had a double-double of his own.
Looking ahead to Game 2, the key for the Knicks is to continue shutting down the Spurs' biggest threats. Wembanyama held a field goal percentage of 51.2 during the regular season. In Game 1, that number was below 30.
