In a statement Wednesday, a ***** e Launch Delta 30 Public Affairs spokesperson said base protocols will be reviewed.

Our next Get German Football News Bundesliga 2026/27 Tactical preview takes us…to Sinsheim. Right. All 18 clubs means all 18 clubs. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim belongs to the Bundesliga field whether we Germans happen to like it or not. The author can only promise the most level-headed ***** ysis his gritted teeth will allow. One would think he got most of his grievances off his chest last year. Regrettably, the political situation at the Kraichgau club over the course of the 2025/26 campaign only produced more grievances.
This time, the Hoffenheim fans themselves demanded more of a voice in club affairs. That definitely merited extensive coverage. In point of fact, such protest actions constituted the very definition of what can and should be newsworthy on the Bundesliga beat. Some disagreed. The chronicler makes no apologies. Dietmar Hopp promised to turn this project over to the burgeoning fan-base that's been supporting it for the past two decades. Potentially reneging on that promise counts as a story. Period.
When it comes to the actual football produced by these Badeners, all coverage remains even-handed. TSG sporting director Andreas Schicker did a fabulous job reducing the roster last summer. The team supplied many memorable performances. Ahead of this season – were it not for the collapsed Fisnik Asllani transfer – Schicker would have produced nearly €100m in summer sales. The author concedes that such skillful administrating deserves praise as it would have theoretically negated the need for another Dietmar Hopp cash infusion.
Alas, we'll likely be reading about more direct benefactor financing next year.
From a straight footballing perspective, things are once again looking up for the 2026/27 Europa League participants. Schicker again put together a stellar offseason, cutting up transfer bait, and recruiting plenty of young promising talent. Dammit. The author literally can't get through the next section quickly enough. There's far too much to report. At least the sheer scale of the activity gives us an excuse to dispense with the rhetoric. Suffice to say that the squad planning and administrative enforcement was simply top-notch. Merely consider yourselves forewarned that this grouchy writer can only contain his disdain to a limited extent.

FIRST ON FOX: A Senate Republican leading the charge on investigating Dr. Anthony Fauci's old government phone told Fox News Digital that the revelation that the former COVID-czar was concerned that vaccines could cause miscarriages was "just the tip of the iceberg."
Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., in an interview with Fox News Digital, alleged that the first tranche of texts from Fauci's old government iPhone was a clear sign that the man who became the face of the nation's COVID-19 response said one thing privately while taking a different message to the public.
"We tell pregnant women don't even have a glass of wine and yet we coerce them, convince them, sometimes mandated them, to get an experimental gene therapy as early as the first trimester," Johnson said. "This is truly sick."

DUBAI, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei around the start of the president's third year in office in late July, state media said on Sunday, and a paramilitary leader promised footage of Khamenei in the future.
Pezeshkian has given differing accounts in recent weeks about his access to Khamenei, who has not been seen in public since he succeeded his father in the role in March.
On July 21, the president said interactions with the supreme leader were "increasing day by day", but in early August he said communicating with Khamenei was "very difficult".
The late July meeting covered military affairs and the economy, including securing resources, managing foreign exchange and energy use, as well as economic ties with foreign partners, according to state media.
In May, state media also reported that Pezeshkian had met Khamenei for several hours, in what was then the first publicly reported meeting between the two since Khamenei became supreme leader.

Comedian Bill Maher ripped Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) for his ongoing scrutiny of Anthony Fauci's time as White House chief medical adviser, arguing the senator strayed from his libertarian roots by releasing the former health official's diary and pushing to hold him in contempt of Congress.
"Stop threatening to put everyone in jail who you just don't like," Maher said Friday on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher."
"Rand babe, your entire brand is 'Senator Right to Privacy,'" he continued. "You're the libertarian guy, the Fourth Amendment guy."
Maher's comments came days after the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Paul, voted 8-5 to refer Fauci for contempt of Congress after he repeatedly refused to answer questions during a hostile Senate hearing last week about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right 111 times during his testimony before the committee, where Republicans slammed his response to the pandemic and blamed him for the public's declining trust in the American healthcare system.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senators headed for the exits in the predawn hours Saturday, ending for now a crushing standoff over President Donald Trump's demands that they stay in session to pass a strict proof-of-citizenship voting bill before the summer recess.
While they wrapped up many key priorities in the overnight votes, advancing Trump's SAVE America Act was not among them.
Instead, Republican senators who had brought the chamber to a standstill spoke to Trump late in the evening about an alternative plan: They would try again to approve elements of the voting bill as part of a broader GOP budget package to fund the Iran war and replenish the Pentagon when they return to work in September.
"Obviously, with the president at his direction, this is what he wants to do," said Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, the GOP budget committee chairman, flanked by Sens. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Rick Scott, R-Fla., after their phone call with the president.
The sudden wind-down after weeks of Trump ramping up his demands shows just how deeply the president is able to reach into the halls of Congress to set the agenda or disrupt it, the executive directing the affairs of the legislative branch. While Trump is often seen as a de facto speaker of the House, he is invariably trying his hand at mastering the Senate.

The latest tranche of materials on unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) released by the U.S. government includes video of what appears to be an object traversing the skies last year over the Middle East.
"The United States Central Command submitted a report of an unidentified anomalous phenomenon to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) consisting of 1 minute and 39 seconds of video footage from an electro-optical and infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform in 2025," the War Department noted.
A description of the video says, "The sensor pans to track an area of contrast from left to right across the background, keeping it generally centered within the frame. The sensor adjusts collection mode and level of magnification several times."

Two members of Iran women's football team have become Australian citizens, having previously been granted humanitarian asylum following this year's Asian Cup.
Atefeh Ramezanisadeh, 34, and Fatemeh Pasandideh, 22, were naturalised in Brisbane, Queensland, on Wednesday — five months after refusing to return to Iran.
Seven members of Iran's travelling party for the tournament had initially sought asylum in Australia after their country's elimination from the tournament. Five subsequently changed their minds to return to Iran, but Pasandideh and Ramezanisadeh remained in Australia.
The two received their citizenship certificates at a ceremony attended by Australian Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke.
Ramezanisadeh said her citizenship "represents hope, safety, and the chance to build a new future", while Pasandideh said the moment "feels like a new beginning".

A Trump-appointed federal appeals judge spent months running a Washington public affairs firm after being appointed to the bench last year, an arrangement that contributed to an exodus among the firm's staff and clients and only ended when the firm went out of business at the end of June.
Jennifer Mascott, a former conservative law professor who sits on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, was deeply involved in daily operations at the firm, Adfero, for at least six months after she was confirmed as a judge in October 2025, according to 14 former employees and clients granted anonymity to discuss internal details of the firm's final months.
Nine of the former employees said Mascott, who inherited her ownership stake in the firm from her late husband in 2023, worked at least once a week out of Adfero's office in Washington and oversaw the firm's staffing, business development efforts and client relations in between her full-time judicial duties in Wilmington and Philadelphia.
The firm was historically a nonpartisan business that did public relations and marketing work for companies and trade ******* ociations such as PhRMA and the National Retail Federation. In the final months of the business, Mascott brought on consultants with strong MAGA credentials, according to eight of the former employees and clients. Her leadership of the firm involved operational and strategic decisions: She required her signoff on marketing materials and suggested staff pitch the firm's services to health insurers after the loss of crucial clients like PhRMA.
The details of Mascott's involvement with the firm, which have not been previously reported, come amid a yearslong push by members of Congress and others in the legal community for stricter ethical requirements for judges. While judges are barred from engaging in business activities that could call their impartiality into question, they may maintain ownership of family businesses as long as they are not using the prestige of their judgeship to further the business or taking significant time away from their judicial duties.

With Derry City having confirmed the departure of Tiernan Lynch as manager on Wednesday, speculation has inevitably turned to who may occupy the role on a permanent basis in future.
Former club captain Mark Connolly has been put in temporary charge of first team affairs on an interim basis and has a chance to impress the Candystripes board in the post over the coming games.
Several other candidates will likely be on the lips and minds of the supporters of the Brandywell club, who may opt to wait until the end of the present campaign before making a permanent appointment.
Any potential new boss will take up the mantle of trying to secure the club's first league success since way back in 1997, an achievement which has eluded several high-profile managers over the years.
BBC Sport NI ***** ses some of the candidates for the post.

Health officials are investigating jalapenos served at Chipotle restaurants as a possible source of a recent salmonella outbreak, the company confirmed to ABC News on Tuesday.
Chipotle told ABC News the ingredient was distributed to several food service retailers across multiple states. The company said it removed the jalapenos from select restaurants.
'Sharp rise' in cyclosporiasis cases in UK linked to Mexico travel
"We have a robust ingredient traceability system and, upon learning of a potential Salmonella outbreak in the supply chain impacting several food service retailers, we proactively identified jalapenos as a potential common ingredient from a common lot, removed them from the restaurants where they had been distributed, and replaced them with product from different growers," Laurie Schalow, Chipotle's chief corporate affairs and food safety officer, said in a statement.
Salmonella are bacteria that can cause a common foodborne illness called salmonellosis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Infections tend to occur more in the summer, when warmer weather presents ideal conditions for the bacteria to grow, the agency states.

Deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office have been dispatched to the Miami home of Perez Hilton after the blogger appeared to self-harm during a disturbing livestream on Tuesday.
The Sheriff's Office told Entertainment Weekly that the video prompted multiple calls to local police, who then visited Hilton's home, spoke with family members who were on the scene, and confirmed that Hilton was alone inside. They have since "tactically disengaged" with Hilton, and continue to monitor the situation.
"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication," the statement read.
"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public," wrote Argemis "AC" Colome, an officer with the Public Affairs Office.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a representative for Hilton for comment.

It really is a "full circle" year for Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
At a time when Rodgers was seemingly creating a kinder, gentler vibe as he embarks on his final year in the NFL, Rodgers brought the knives out during a Monday appearance on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers started by taking the Fifth Amendment in response to McAfee's first question. Rodgers then went off on Dr. Anthony Fauci, who last week repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment in testimony before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
"You got a pardon, and you're in front of — and you pleaded [the Fifth] over 100 times?" Rodgers said. "What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. I thought you [were], 'I am science.' And you get up there and you can't answer a question?"
The vitriol extended to ESPN, the owner of the channel on which he was appearing.

Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith said Thursday that former White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci should have answered lawmakers' questions during the hostile Senate hearing earlier this week instead of invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.
Smith argued that Fauci owed the public an explanation after serving as the face of the nation's COVID-19 response.
"As it strictly pertains to the coronavirus pandemic, my attitude is, with you being the face that you have been, you can't show up on Capitol Hill and plead the Fifth 111 times," he told NewsNation's Chris Cuomo. "You just can't do that. That's not right. You've got to answer some questions."
During a three-hour hearing before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday, Fauci pleaded the Fifth 111 times as Republicans blasted him over his handling of the pandemic and accused the doctor of covering up the U.S.'s involvement in gain-of-function research that could have caused the spread of the virus.
Smith acknowledged that Fauci, who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for nearly 40 years, may have had a legitimate legal reason to remain silent — pointing to a pardon he received from former President Biden on his final day in office for potential offenses between Jan. 1, 2014, and Jan. 19, 2025.

Entries from early 2020 in a now-exposed personal diary kept by Dr. Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic show that he privately estimated the death rate from the illness was significantly lower than what he told Congress under oath only weeks later.
Fauci, 85, has come under intense scrutiny for years regarding his approach leading the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic, and his alleged links to the Chinese lab where the virus originated. He will return to Capitol Hill on Wednesday before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to speak about his newly publicized personal records.
"The stated mortality over all of this when you look at all the data including China is about three percent. It first started off as two and three," Fauci said in testimony before the House Oversight Committee on March 11, 2020, according to a transcript of the hearing.
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci prepares to testify before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee about the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill on November 4, 2021, in Washington, D.C. Senators questioned Fauci and other witnesses about the approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children between 5 and 11 years old this week.

Wars often end somewhere different from where they begin.
The current conflict with Iran has been plagued by ill-defined and shifting objectives, from aspirations of regime change to more focused aims of degrading Iran's nuclear and military capabilities.
Nearly six months in, it has evolved into something else entirely: a struggle over who controls the Strait of Hormuz and, with it, one of the world's most important arteries for global energy. Iran has demonstrated both the capability and willingness to target commercial shipping passing through the strait unless conducted under rules Tehran prescribes.
The US – and much of the world, including all the Gulf states adjacent to the strait – has rightly deemed that unacceptable.

A Secret Service agent on Vice President JD Vance's security detail is under internal review and has been put on administrative leave after being suspected of leaking information for a news story that included details about Vance's travel, a source familiar with the matter said.
A second source confirmed officials had identified a person believed to have been leaking information about Vance.
The review is being conducted by the agency's internal affairs component, the first source said, and it's unclear if any possible administrative punishment or criminal charges could be forthcoming.
The employee is suspected of having been a source for a recent story on MS NOW about agents on Vance's security detail dismayed by the purported burden the vice president's personal travel schedule has placed on his security team. As part of its coverage, MS NOW also described Vance's planned travel, including flying with his son on a Marine Corps helicopter to a golf lesson — plans that were later aborted.
The story caught the attention of Secret Service, FBI and White House officials, who fumed over operational details being described in the press, the first source said.

GOP Sen. Thom Tillis (N.C.) on Thursday lambasted Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought over, in his view, the shuttered Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) lack of accomplishments.
During a Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee hearing, Tillis asked Vought to name "one DOGE initiative" he could tout as an "exquisite realization of the value" the agency brought to the table.
When Vought began to talk about DOGE's cuts to the federal workforce, Tillis interrupted and asked for specifics, adding he did not "want a world salad answer."
DOGE, which President Trump launched and Elon Musk oversaw in the early months of the administration, officially ceased operations on July 4.
As of October, the fledgling agency estimated it saved $214 billion through ****** et sales; contract, lease and grant cancellations; fraud and improper payment deletion; savings on interest; programmatic changes; regulatory savings; and workforce reductions — amounting to $1,329 saved per taxpayer, according to a site tracking the national debt.

LAS VEGAS — Oh yes, the art of the buzzkill.
For a minute there, when the lights went down in Las Vegas, and the fascia ring lit up with the familiar Irish colors at the T-Mobile Arena, everyone stood on their feet to catch a glimpse of Conor McGregor making his way to the Octagon. You can say what you want about McGregor's many inconvenient truths, the hysteria of his fight nights is next to a religious experience in the game.
If there was a snake, it would've been passed around.
In a conversation with Marc Ratner, the UFC's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, he mentioned being there for Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns back in the 1980s when he headed up the Nevada Athletic Commission. He understood a big-fight feel, is what he was saying, looking around at the atmosphere Saturday at UFC 329.
One group of fans, while walking from New York, New York Hotel to the arena, were singing Bowie's "Five Years" because, well, that's how long it had been. Five years. A lot has happened. Lifetimes. Wars. Twitter's conversion into X. Everyone from Justin Jefferson to Tucker Carlson to Anthony Kiedis was there, along with the full galaxy of Vons, from Theo to Vince Vaughn to Erich von Stroheim — or at least that's who the UFC might've misidentified Justin Gaethje as when showing him on the celebrity cam.

The South Carolina Republican Party has filed a lawsuit in a bid to force the state's open primary elections to close as part of a long-running push to restrict GOP contests to only registered Republican voters.
The Palmetto State currently does not require registration by party and allows voters to participate in either of the state's primary contests regardless of their partisan affiliation. Voters can choose to participate in one but not both.
In the new lawsuit, filed July 6, the South Carolina GOP argues the open-primary model violates its First Amendment rights to free ******* ociation and the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment by compelling the party to open its primaries to those who are not affiliated with it and "do not subscribe to the party's principles."
"An open primary system permits voters who have not joined the Republican Party to influence the Party's most important ******* ociational act: choosing its nominee, thus depriving the Party of the fundamental right of ******* ociation and the fundamental right to govern its own affairs," lawyers wrote on behalf of the party.
The challenge asks a federal judge to force the South Carolina Election Commission to comply with a new state party rule that limits Republican primary participation to only GOP voters.

Far-left journalist Joy Reid unloaded on the Democratic Party after Graham Platner suspended his Maine Senate campaign on Wednesday, telling voters they have her "permission to not vote" if leadership opts to replace the progressive candidate with a more moderate option.
On "The Joy Reid Show," the former MSNBC host warned key figures in the party that if they do not replace Platner with an "ideologically similar candidate," voters may stay home on Election Day.
"You need to replace him with somebody who is ideologically the same because that is what was decided. The people of Maine, the Democratic voters of Maine said, 'We want a progressive.' They did not say they want an AIPAC [American Israel Public Affairs Committee] moderate," Reid said. "So, the Democratic Party in Maine ought to pick someone who is ideologically the same or ideologically similar as Platner."
Reid went on to give Maine voters her blessing not to cast their ballot if the Democrats do not select a candidate whose policies are in line with Platner's campaign promises.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is under fire from an Italian American heritage group after Little Italy was left off a city immigrant-neighborhood map tied to a World Cup tourism campaign — an omission critics called an insult to one of the communities that helped build New York.
"Zohran Mamdani wants to ERASE Italian Americans. First, he denied our permit for Unity Day 2026. Now, he is excluding Little Italy as a recognized location all together on the map," wrote the Italian American Civil Rights League (IACRL) on X along with a press release.
"Italian Americans BUILT NEW YORK CITY. Not third world Ugandans, We stand AGAINST COMMUNISTS," the group added.
David Marcus: Commie Dems Would Destroy Everything World Cup Fans Love About America
The map, **** led "New York City Immigrant Enclaves," was created by New York City Tourism + Conventions as part of its NYC Neighborhood Passport campaign tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs has promoted the neighborhood map at pop-up booths across the city.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — The Hamas militant group said Monday it had dissolved its government in Gaza and is preparing to transfer power to a technical committee backed by the United Nations as part of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal.
Hamas did not say whether it planned to take the crucial step of disarming or handing over security to an international force, but described its decision as evidence of its commitment to Gaza's reconstruction after years of war.
It was unclear if the move, announced by a lower-level official, would lead to any meaningful change on the ground.
The Board of Peace, the new entity led by President Donald Trump with the mandate of governing and rebuilding Gaza, said it was aware of the Hamas announcement but would ******* s the impact based on "actions, not promises." The board stressed in a statement on X that the technocratic committee must control all weapons in Gaza, as laid out in the ceasefire agreement.
At a news conference Monday, Ismail al-Thawabta, general director of the Hamas-run Government Media Office, said "only technical and professional staff" would remain in their positions to run the Palestinian enclave's day-to-day affairs.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has provisionally lifted its suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee, the organization’s executive board announced Tuesday.
The suspension, which had been in place since October 2023, prevented the ROC from operating as a recognized national Olympic committee and receiving funding from the IOC. Just 32 athletes from Russia and Belarus competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics as individual neutral athletes.
The ROC’s suspension was due to its recognition of regional Olympic councils in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, including Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. The IOC said “following a thorough ***** ysis by the IOC’s Legal Affairs Commission,” it determined the ROC no longer includes sports organizations from those territories and has pledged not to conduct activities there. The governing body said it will continue monitoring the ROC and could impose additional measures if necessary.
The decision was made in part because the qualification periods opened for both the LA28 Olympic Games and the Dolomiti Valtellina 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games. The IOC in the announcement said it considered “the need to offer equal access to these competitions to all athletes.”
LA28 did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
