The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2026 offseason with a difficult challenge. After another NFC East ******* le and a playoff appearance, the organization faced coaching turnover, free-agent losses, and questions about how to keep a championship-caliber roster among the NFL's elite. General manager Howie Roseman responded aggressively, reshaping parts of the roster while attempting to maintain Philadelphia's place among the NFC contenders.
Here is a ranking of the Eagles' most important offseason moves from best to worst.
1. Hiring Sean Mannion as offensive coordinator
No move carries more importance than this one. The Eagles are entering their fifth consecutive season with a new offensive coordinator, but Philadelphia believes Mannion can provide the creativity and adaptability the offense lacked at times in 2025. After rising quickly through Green Bay's coaching staff, Mannion arrives with a reputation as a detailed teacher and innovative offensive mind. His success will largely determine whether Jalen Hurts and the offense return to championship form.
2. Signing Riq Woolen

Perhaps FC Nantes needed to be relegated to Ligue 2 to kick off the new era that all the fans have been waiting for. But for Les Canaris, change is not necessarily an idea that everyone is in favour of.
Proof of this can be seen in their attraction to Michel Der Zakarian, 63, who, according to L’Équipe, is being lined up to succeed Vahid Halilhodžić, 74, for whom the end of the season marked the well-deserved end of his career.
Having managed Nantes from February 2007 to August 2008, and then from May 2012 to June 2016, ‘Der Zak’ is seen as the man capable of leading the Stade de la Beaujoire side back to the top flight by the 2027–28 season. A task that seems well within the Armenian coach’s capabilities, having already secured two promotions with FCN, in 2008 and 2013.
A resident of the Nantes area, he was apparently even spotted at the final of the Challenge Espoirs, won by the Nantes youth team a few weeks ago. This is enough to fuel speculation about a… third comeback.

The NBA Finals broadcasts on ABC for ESPN often try to capture the history of the sport.
That's true in part when they go to commercial and show a past legend, like San Antonio Spurs great Tony Parker.
Well, or they show something that's supposed to be Parker.
ESPN appeared to use AI to generate an image of Parker that they showed during the Game 1 broadcast:

Myles Garrett was added to the Commanders schedule earlier this week. The Cleveland Browns weren’t suddenly part of Washington’s slate. Garrett became one after being traded to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster deal made official on Monday.
The Rams got Garrett. The Browns got young edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2029 third-round pick.
That means Garrett will face the Commanders in a Week 9 matchup at Northwest Stadium. He almost exclusively lines up over the left tackle, creating an epic matchup with Washington’s Laremy Tunsil one of the best at his position.
There’s a mutual respect between these two **** ans, which Tunsil made clear in a recent podcast appearance on “Strong Talk” posted by Men’s Health Magazine.
“Myles Garrett is the best defensive player in the NFL,” Tunsil said. “I’ve been playing against Myles since he was a freshman in college and that had to be, like, (2014). We’ve been battling ever since. Every time we see each other, it’s respect. It’s a different type of lock in, because he doesn’t want to lose and I don’t want to lose. We play the Rams in (Week 9), so it’ll be another fun one.”

In a season one of the ever-present Bundesliga clubs got relegated to the second division, Augsburg cracked a top ten finish for the first time in over a decade. Their ninth-placed finish is the best return by the Bavarians since Markus Weinzierl led them to Europa League participation during his first spell.
Manuel Baum was Weinzierl’s replacement back then, and he returned to the club this term after a turbulent start to the campaign under Sandro Wagner. Thanks to their strong end to the season, the 46-year-old interim coach has now signed a permanent deal until the end of the 2027/28 season.
Alexis Claude-Maurice is one of the reasons behind Augsburg’s resurgence. The attacking midfielder came second to Finn Dahmen in our voting process last season. He has now comfortably beaten the shot-stopper, despite scoring four goals fewer than his debut campaign. Augsburg might want to cash in on the 27-year-old this summer before he runs down his contract at the end of next season.
After missing the first two games with an ankle injury, Claude-Maurice ended Hinrunde with zero direct goal involvement. Things changed after the winter break as he netted in back-to-back draws against Union Berlin and Freiburg. Including the Hoffenheim game where he missed a penalty-kick that would have been a winning goal, the Frenchman scored the opener on four different occasions.
Just like the number of votes he had from Bulinews writers (5/10), he found the net five times. All of his goals came in front of home support at WWK Arena, where they have only lost to Stuttgart since matchday nine. Although there was no equivalent to his sensational treble at Borussia-Park last season, Claude-Maurice added four ***** ists to his tally in wins over eventually relegated St. Pauli and Wolfsburg.

The White Sox have lost back-to-back games to the Twins, falling 6-4 tonight. Davis Martin fought with his command all night, unable to make it through five innings. While the offense didn’t provide, the poor pitching performance certainly was a catalyst for a tough loss. The bullpen took control in the late innings, but loading the bases and leaving them stranded moments later also hurt the momentum this team carried into Minnesota.
There was not much action in the game until the third inning, just a pair of Twins singles that went nowhere. Connor Prielipp gave up a leadoff walk to Luisangel Acuña in the third, who stole second and third before reaching home on a throwing error, putting the first run of the game on the board. With one out, Chase Meidroth singled, and Randal Grichuk followed up with a double. Miguel Vargas would be the decision-maker, plating two runs with a single. Edgar Quero also singled, but two outs would quickly follow, including an unfortunate two-out bunt decision from Derek Hill.
Martin would also face a little trouble on the base paths in the bottom of the third. Tristan Gray singled and advanced on a questionable balk call. Alex Jackson singled, and Brooks Lee’s sac fly would send a run in. Martin was able to work through the rest of the inning, only giving up the one run despite some sloppy defense from his teammates.
Martin struggled again in the bottom of the fourth. Trevor Larnach doubled, and he gave up a walk to Austin Martin. Luke Keaschall doubled, giving the Twins another run with two on base and only one out. Gray gave the Twins the lead with an RBI single, sending in two runs before then getting to second base. Gray stole third and got home after a single from Jackson. Another base hit, this time from Byron Buxton, would get the bullpen stirring after Martin surrendered five hits in the inning. A double play would thankfully end any additional threat.
The Twins kept the White Sox in check for two straight innings, and Martin continued to wrestle with his command. Despite starting the fifth with a strikeout, he gave up back-to-back walks right after. Those free passes would haunt him when Keaschall singled, and Sam Antonacci couldn’t get the ball home in time. After the run, Martin stepped out for Sean Newcomb to take over and end the fifth. Alas, the Twins were up 6-3.

The Virginia Tech Hokies continue to turn over their 2026-27 basketball roster. While much of Tech’s offseason has been focused on adding veteran players via the NCAA transfer portal, head coach Mike Young deviated from that roster-building process on Monday, adding a commitment from 6-foot-8 wing Eltayeb Eltayeb announced his commitment to Virginia Tech.
Eltayeb is a native of Sudan, but played last season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas. He played well, averaging 21.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Eltayeb also shot over 43% from 3-point range, giving Young another perimeter threat.
At 6-foot-8 and only 170 pounds, Eltayeb still has some growing to do. He’s built similarly to Virginia Tech newcomer, Kuol Atak, who transferred to the Hokies in March after spending two seasons at Oklahoma. Atak is 6-foot-9, 192 pounds, and is also an excellent outside shooter.
Eltayeb has guard-like skills. He’s grown over seven inches since entering high school. He is the first freshman addition to Virginia Tech’s 2026 recruiting class. The Hokies do have six players from the transfer portal.

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo will miss out on roughly half his prize money after making a ******* ist comment about an umpire during his loss against Moïse Kouamé. Following that match, Vallejo said a male umpire would have had the “strength to go against the crowd,” which was supporting Kouamé, who is French.
The French Open quickly took action, putting out a strong-worded statement decrying his comments. The French Open added that Vallejo would receive a “significant” fine for his comments.
That fine came Monday, and it was — as promised — pretty significant. Vallejo was fined $76,000, Roland Garros director Amelie Mauresmo told reporters. That’s roughly half his prize money from the event.
While confirming the fine, Maursemo made it clear Vallejo’s comments were “clearly unacceptable,” per ESPN.
"This is clearly unacceptable," Mauresmo said. "Once again, such remarks have no place here."

Francesco Totti and Roma are impossible to separate.
The Captain’s future, in fact, appears to still be with the Giallorossi, though it’s yet to be determined in what role.
The former number 10 is waiting to hear the Friedkins’ intentions, but it’s only a matter of days, as the new sporting director, Tony D’Amico, will soon be announced.
Gian Piero Gasperini is in favor of Totti’s return to the club: he would like a managerial role, given his footballing prowess and the internal dynamics between the team and the club.
Totti is set to return to Roma. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a key meeting could take place this week at Trigoria to formalize the agreement with the Giallorossi.

Many people grab a cup of coffee or some other drink with caffeine to start their day. But there are a few people who never drink coffee or any other caffeinated beverage for various reasons.
LeBron James has been lauded for having a high level of dedication to keeping his mind and body right, and it is a huge reason why he's still a superstar-level player at age 41. But he doesn't drink coffee, and during a recent appearance on "Bob Does Sports," he explained that one incident caused him to abstain from coffee.
“No, when I was in Miami playing for the Heat we had one early game start.” James said. “I think it was like 12 noon start and I got a [expletive] horrible night of sleep. So I woke up the next morning, I was like super tired. I told my chef, I was like, ‘Hey, I need something like coffee. Just give me the most basic coffee that you could give me, I need a little bolt of energy.’
“So I drank it, got to the arena and my heart and my anxiety was racing. Like racing, all the way up until it got to the point where I told my trainer I was like, ‘I may have to sit this game out cause I’m not calming down.’ All the way up until like 15 minutes before the game started. The heart was racing, everything was just speeding up and I was like, ‘Oh no, coffee’s not for me.’ That’s the end of it. I haven’t had coffee since. I think that was 2012 maybe.”
Caffeine may not be tolerable for a few people. Perhaps James is one of those people who doesn't necessarily need caffeine, and his body of work since the incident he revealed is proof.
