Cher is dealing with a huge amount of personal and legal stress, and a source exclusively tells the National Enquirer that the music icon's friends are worried she might be at her breaking point.
The "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer, 80, recently learned she will have to pay more than $1 million in her own attorney fees after a judge denied her request to have Sonny Bono's widow, Mary Bono, reimburse the legal costs she incurred during their lengthy royalties dispute, per People.
Even though Cher won the underlying lawsuit over unpaid royalties, the court ruled that each side is responsible for paying their own legal fees.
"Cher is furious that she's having to shell out all this money, she doesn't understand how she can be on the hook for a million bucks when she won the case. It feels incredibly unjust," the source says. "She has the money, and she can pay, but it's the principal of it that's really upsetting her."
However, according to the source, the legal setback is only one piece of a particularly stressful time in the Burlesque star's life, and her main worries are due to her son Elijah Blue Allman.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — A former campus police officer testified Monday that he found an apparent "sniper pad" on a rooftop near where Charlie Kirk was ***** assinated, as prosecutors sought to convince a state judge they have enough evidence to put a Utah man on trial for murder.
Former Utah Valley University Officer Christopher Bagley said he witnessed Kirk's shooting while the conservative activist was speaking on Sept. 10 to a crowd of thousands. Soon after, Bagley searched a nearby gravel rooftop, where it appeared someone had been lying ***** e with a clear sightline to Kirk's location, he said.
"It looks like a sniper pad," Bagley said, adding, "you've got markings of elbows, knees and feet."
The testimony came as Kirk's parents, Kathryn and Robert, and his widow, Erika, were in the courtroom for the first time since the case began, along with the president's son Donald Trump Jr.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for defendant Tyler Robinson, 23, who is charged with aggravated murder. Robinson's parents also were present, sitting a few rows behind the Kirks.

Since Charlie's death, Owens has repeatedly questioned the official account of the killing and criticized his widow, Erika Kirk, and she continued to do so in Ryan's podcast.

A statement released on Monday on behalf of her family said: "We are deeply saddened to announce that Dame Penelope Keith died peacefully whilst living with cancer at her home in Surrey where she had lived for more than 50 years.
