Weitz Investment Management, an investment management firm, released its second-quarter Q2 2026 investor letter for the "Multi Cap Equity Fund". The letter can be downloaded here. The Multi Cap Equity Fund's Institutional Class returned 7.90% in Q2, underperforming the Bloomberg U.S. 3000 Index's 15.71% gain. Markets rose in the quarter on hopes of de-escalating Middle East tensions and easing oil flow. Investor focus shifted back to artificial intelligence, despite component shortages like processing chips affecting profits and valuations. Valuation-sensitive investors are selective within the AI sector, in contrast to valuation-agnostic indexes that adopt a more relaxed strategy. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Weitz Multi Cap Equity Fund highlighted Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) as a newly added postion. Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is a leading subscription-based streaming entertainment platform. On September 15, 2026, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) closed at $77.90 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $324.37 billion. Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) posted a one‑month return of -2.89%, while its shares lost 36.59% over the past 52 weeks.
Weitz Multi Cap Equity Fund stated the following regarding Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We initiated two new positions during the second quarter. Most will be familiar with global streaming giant, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX). The company made headlines as it tried to acquire Warner Bros. from Warner Bros. Discovery before ultimately walking away from a bidding war for the company. Some investors feared its bid signaled stagnation in its streaming business. At the time of this writing, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is also captivating audiences and draining attention and engagement from Netflix's service. Despite these near-term perception headwinds, we are optimistic that Netflix's introduction of an ad-supported tier is a savvy strategy to extend its growth runway: Netflix will not only participate in the large, multi-billion-dollar global advertising market, but a lower-price ad-tier broadens its potential customer base while simultaneously enhancing the pricing power of its premium, ad free tier."
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) ranks 13 on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 121 hedge fund portfolios held Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) at the end of the second quarter, down from 144 in the previous quarter. While we acknowledge the potential of Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

The choice between established ****** ans and digital-first challengers defines many modern portfolios. In the financial realm, investors must decide if JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) or SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:SOFI) is the better buy for long-term growth.
JPMorgan Chase operates as a global financial heavyweight, offering everything from wealth management to retail branches. Conversely, SoFi Technologies focuses on an integrated mobile app to help members borrow, save, and invest. While one relies on massive scale, the other bets on fintech innovation to capture a younger, tech-savvy demographic.
JPMorgan Chase functions as a cornerstone of the global economy, managing a vast array of services including ****** et management and investment banking. In its latest annual report, filed for 2025, the firm highlighted its reach through more than 5,000 branches across the 48 contiguous states. It serves a diverse client base ranging from individual consumers and small businesses to large corporations and governments. This consistent profitability underscores the scale of its operations across diverse global markets.

This ratio measures total debt against shareholder equity, with a higher number indicating more reliance on borrowed funds to finance growth. The current ratio, which compares short-term ****** ets to short-term liabilities, was approximately 0.5x, while free cash flow reached a negative $147.8 billion. Florida State is in search of a new athletic director after the university fired Michael Alford on Monday, Sep. 14, four years after he was hired.
The move was made by FSU president Richard McCullough, who said the Seminoles' athletic program needs to better position itself for the future of collegiate athletics. When he spoke with the media Monday morning, McCullough gave insight into what FSU is looking for in its next athletic director.
He placed a value on business acumen and cited the need for success in revenue generation, while also being savvy enough to navigate the complexities of modern collegiate sports, particularly football.
While no move is imminent, here are a few names that make our initial FSU AD hot board.
Dickey has led the Broncos since 2021, and during his time as the program's athletic director, ***** ey has had a huge impact on revenue generation for the program. That's an area that McCullough highlighted as being important to the Seminoles next AD when speaking to the media after Alford's firing. ***** ey, named the 2025 National ***** ociation of Collegiate Directors of Athletics AD of the year, has overseen Boise State's transition from the Mountain West into the reimagined Pac-12, which would suit FSU and the university's potential interest in departing the ACC.

Investors love to check automakers' quarterly (or otherwise) delivery figures, especially when it comes to young electric vehicle (EV) makers that are surviving amid low volume and scale. Rivian's (NASDAQ: RIVN) R2 has been long-hyped, and on June 9, 2026, customers finally began receiving their prized ride. However, while Wall Street ****** ysts obsess over delivery charts and the smallest gains or losses, savvy investors know the R2 is about much more than increasing deliveries and revenue for the young EV maker. Here is one big development that's often forgotten.
One of Rivian's underappreciated strengths is its ability to bring in investment from larger companies that see value in Rivian's software technology or vehicles as a service. In this case, Rivian's mass-market R2 was a solid choice for Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) to add to its numerous investments for robotaxi joint ventures. Uber will invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian through 2031, after it meets certain conditions and milestones, and the statement from Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi emphasizes Rivian's growing value with its vertical integration.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
"We're big believers in Rivian's approach -- designing the vehicle, compute platform, and software stack together, while maintaining end-to-end control of scaled manufacturing and supply in the U.S.," Khosrowshahi said in a press release.
Uber and Rivian expect to deploy 10,000 fully autonomous R2 robotaxis during their joint venture's first phase. San Francisco and Miami are circled in red to host the initial R2 robotaxi deployments in 2028, with the target of entering 25 additional cities by 2031. If all goes well for the joint venture, there's an option for the companies to negotiate the purchase of up to 40,000 additional R2 vehicles beginning in 2030.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) stock soared nearly 50% in May, as Wall Street began seeing the legacy automotive company as a hidden-gem infrastructure play as the demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and data center energy explodes. The stock has since given back about half of its May surge, and that gives investors who see long-term growth an opportunity to jump back in at a better price.
Here's why investors should be intrigued.
Continue »
In May, the Detroit automaker announced its wholly owned subsidiary, called Ford Energy, which will develop and offer a battery energy storage system (BESS) for utility customers, AI data centers, and other large industrial and commercial customers. Savvy investors may have seen this coming, but for the most part, Ford built the new business behind the scenes, securing supply chains and preparing manufacturing. Ford Energy will manufacture battery cells, **** emble modules and containers, and offer sales and service support, which could be the lucrative part. That's because the automaker's Ford Energy DC block was designed to have a stable and predictable lifetime performance for about two decades.
To help connect the dots for investors wondering, AI data centers run intense workloads that put immense strain on the electrical grid. Ford's BESS give AI data centers security in the event of electrical grid fluctuations or blackouts, as the centers need an uninterrupted power supply. The systems will also provide power during AI workload spikes, charge when electricity is cheap, and discharge when prices peak, ultimately lowering costs and providing downtime protection.

One surprise that often hits retirees in their first few years is that even without the costs of working and contributing to retirement accounts, they end up spending more than when they held down a job.
Some financial planners cite three retirement phases: Go-Go, Slow-Go and No-Go. In the Go-Go years, typically 65 to 75, many healthy, young retirees spend big to check lifelong dreams off their bucket list — and make big purchases they may end up later regretting.

Sep. 5—SEATTLE — Heading into Sunday's Apple Cup, Washington State and coach Kirby Moore have said all the right things, have talked about all the right game plans.
The Cougars want to keep Husky quarterback Demond Williams contained in the pocket. Their defense wants to generate pressure on him and disrupt his rhythm. While Washington State's offense wants QB Caden Pinnick to make the correct reads before the snap, and to diagnose the Huskies' defensive schemes.
The Cougars have all the right things in mind. But as Moore said about containing Williams: "It's way easier said than done."
For that reason, we're picking Washington to win the 118th Apple Cup No. 118 in relatively comfortable fashion, dispatching an upstart WSU club with a first-year head coach in Moore. The Huskies are just too talented, too deep, and too savvy to lose an Apple Cup at Husky Stadium for the first time since 2021.
For WSU, one of the bigger challenges will involve running the ball against UW's defense, which is one way the Cougars could ease Pinnick into the game. The only problem for WSU is that many of the offensive linemen at the center of the operation, like center Noah Dunham and guards Kyle Martin and Nick Bakken, will be playing some of their first snaps of college football.

He was a redshirt junior when he entered the draft after only one year of true production at Alabama. The NFL Stock Exchange podcast had him rated as the fourth and sixth defensive end in the 2024 class. They noted "how raw of a player" he was and that he is built exceptionally well, but lacked a "pass rush plan" and could only rush with power. A 'toolsy" prospect with an Alabama pedigree, NFL stars have been made of much worse material.
Peering back into my own draft ****** ysis from 2o24, I noted that his pass rush ability was "simple" rather than nuanced. It didn't shine off the tape like his counterpart Turner did. I thought he set the edge well, was asked to contain, but wasn't the money-maker on defense. He would go on to be selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round.
The limitations mentioned came true. His lack of a plan and limited bag of tricks made him easy to predict in the pass rush. At 6'3", 250 pounds, he's a thick and powerful edge but never earned a start in two seasons with Tampa Bay. A lack of production immediately soured his relationship with the coaching staff. It's not as though the Bucs were great at rushing the passer either, Yaya Diaby led the team with seven sacks. His ineffectiveness lead to the team selecting Ruben Bain in the first round of this year's draft.

The secondhand apparel market is booming, and financial experts say there's real money to be made both as a savvy shopper and a seller. According to a new report from ThredUp, the U.S. secondhand market has exploded from roughly $28 billion in 2020 to approximately $56 billion today, with 62% of Gen Z participating in secondhand shopping last year.
But while the opportunity is real, so is the potential to turn a financial win into a spending trap. We asked finance experts for their best approaches to capitalize on this trend without letting low prices trick you into mindless spending.
Before committing to a regular thrift habit, you need to find a place where you actually enjoy shopping. Not every platform or store will feel right, and that's fine.
As Melanie Musson, a finance expert with Quote.com, explained, "If you walk into a massive Goodwill store, you may feel overwhelmed and have a strong desire to leave. That's okay. If you walk into a local hospital boost club thrift store, and it's so tiny with low ceilings and you feel closed in, it's okay to leave. However, if you love the experience, embrace it."
Musson recommended checking out at least five different stores or platforms to find what works for you.

According to a survey by the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies [1], nearly six-in-10 retirees (58%) retired sooner than planned. Among this group, 43% cited employment reasons such as job loss (16%), organizational changes (16%), job unhappiness (14%) and retirement buyout (9%).
