BECKER, MN — Entering the fourth quarter with a slim lead on Sept. 3, Becker took a commanding nine-point advantage with 7:48 left on the clock. In an outing that had been far from perfect, the Bulldogs could taste victory up two scores in the waning minutes of the game.
Then Orono senior quarterback Finn Dyvik found senior receiver Owen Paulson along the sideline for a 68-yard pitch-and-catch to score the first of 23 fourth quarter points for the Spartans to suck the out of Dwight Lundeen Stadium and escape with a win.
While it may not have been the storybook beginning to Becker's head coach Dwight Lundeen farewell tour after 57 seasons, the two most recent 4A champions did not disappoint as Orono bested Becker 35-28 thanks to its big fourth quarter effort.
Becker got the scoring started in the first half with a 14-0 lead heading into the locker room behind two first-half interceptions and a 40-yard touchdown reception from senior RJ Houle.
The reigning champs stayed calm, though. Coming out in the second half and scoring two unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter, including a second interception by Becker's senior quarterback Tristan Kowalkowski.

The biggest question regarding the New York Giants heading into 2026 has been whether their defense can rise above its dismal performances in 2024 and 2025.
It was a bit of a surprise when the Giants hired former Tennessee ******* ans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson when names like Jim Leonard or Wink Martindale were being bandied about. However, Wilson is both familiar with the "Ravens" style of defense and has a history of producing excellent secondaries.
One of the prime concerns regarding the Giants' roster was their defensive secondary. In particular, those on the outside were concerned about the cornerback position opposite Paulson Adebo. It was widely expected that Greg Newsome II would be the starting corner opposite Adebo, with rookie Colton Hood rotating in and eventually supplanting him.
Instead, the Giants have rotated their starting corners with Adebo, Newsome, Deonte Banks, and Hood all getting reps with the starters.
"Right now, I see a bunch of young men trying to get better," Wilson said. "Every day they're going out there and they're competing against our offense. You've seen them in the games that we had in the preseason and in the preseason practice. They're coming out there and trying to detail their work. Right now, everybody's fighting to play, and I like where they're all at."

When it comes to what the central bank will do next with monetary policy in the current environment, Paulson said: "I am committed to keeping an open mind as I ***** s the evidence and determine the appropriate path for policy."

Philadelphia Federal Reserve president Anna Paulson said Tuesday that she supported the decision to hold interest rates steady last week and is keeping an open mind about next steps on setting rates, depending on where inflation moves.
"The recent improvement in some inflation data is welcome," Paulson said in a speech ***** led "Keeping an Open Mind."
"It is a step in the right direction, but it is only one step … I am keeping an open mind about where policy goes from here," she said.
Paulson said she's focused on gathering more information to better understand what's happening with inflation. ***** sing underlying inflation — what price growth would be without the temporary effects of tariffs and energy shocks — she estimates it's running somewhere between 2.4% and 2.8%. Paulson underscored that inflation has been elevated for a long time, and that persistence is what she's most focused on as she evaluates bringing it back to the Fed's 2% goal.
As the conflict in the Middle East has repeatedly subsided and then flared up again, old tariffs expired, new tariffs were put in place, and more artificial intelligence investments were announced, Paulson said the economy looks fairly the same and the job market is stable.

Paulson Adebo is embracing the New York Giants' defensive scheme under coordinator Dennard Wilson while holding himself to an elite standard.
Following practice on Tuesday, the veteran cornerback said Wilson's system features plenty of press man coverage on the outside within an attacking zone approach, closely matching what he ran in New Orleans. That style lets corners challenge receivers at the line and plays to the strengths of the entire group.
"Absolutely, yeah. I mean, it's definitely something that I love to do," Adebo said when asked if the scheme fits his skill set.
The comfort arrives as Adebo pushes to raise his level. Looking back on last season, he was direct in his self-evaluation.
"Overall, not good enough, regardless of whatever circumstance is going on," he said.

One of the key battles this training camp for the New York Giants is at cornerback, a position they haven't gotten right for a long while. They've recently been trying every avenue available to find solutions -- free agency, the draft -- but have yet to find the right combination.
This summer, they are going with Paulson Adebo, last year's big-ticket free agent, and Greg Newsome, whom they signed to a one-year, $8 million look-see contract this past March, as the exterior corners.

NOVAGOLD Resources has signed a series of definitive agreements to acquire the remaining 40% interest in Donlin Gold from Paulson Advisers and its affiliates in an all-share transaction.
The deal will give NOVAGOLD full ownership of Donlin Gold and lead to the creation of a new US-domiciled parent company, NovaGold Corporation, which will seek a listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
The resulting company is expected to have an equity value of around $4.2bn (C$5.91bn).
Following completion, current NOVAGOLD shareholders, including Paulson's existing equity interest, are expected to hold around 65% of NovaGold Corporation, while Paulson will receive an approximate 35% stake on a fully diluted basis for its Donlin Gold share.
Paulson's economic interest in the combined entity will be around 40%, with voting rights capped at 19.99%.

NovaGold extended its winning streak to a third consecutive day on Wednesday, surging 10.30 percent to close at $6.21 apiece after expanding its gold portfolio with the full acquisition of the Donlin Gold project in Alaska.
In a statement on the same day, NovaGold Resources Inc. (NYSEAmerican:NG) said that it entered into a definitive agreement with Paulson Advisers LLC to acquire the latter's entire 40 percent stake in the project through an all-share transaction valued at $4.2 billion.
NovaGold Resources Inc. (NYSEAmerican:NG) will effectively own 100 percent of Donlin Gold—whose projected annual 1.3-million-ounce gold production in its first decade and 1.1-million-ounce gold production over the 27-year mine life is expected to render it the largest gold development project in the US.
It currently holds approximately 40 million ounces of measured and indicated mineral resources, which represents more than twice the industry's average grade.

We're still waiting for the New Orleans Saints to regroup for training camp, which means it's time to check in on the latest mock drafts and highlight some names to know in the 2027 NFL Draft class. Today's pick comes from Paul M. Banks over at Draft Wire, who has the Saints choosing Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore with the eighth overall pick. Most mock drafts have had the Saints choosing one of the best edge rushers available -- either Colin Simmons (Texas) or Dylan Stewart (South Carolina), but neither of them were still on the board when New Orleans went on the clock.
"Our first off-script pick, Saints' primary need is edge rusher, but there is no one rated high enough on the big board to go here," Banks wrote. "So we see them going best player available."
Just two other corners were taken in this way-too-early mock draft; Ellis Robinson IV (Georgia) went to the New York Giants at No. 11, while Zabien Brown (Alabama) joined the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 17. There wasn't a single edge rusher taken in the top-20 after Simmons and Stewart went top-5. Moore has been linked to the Saints before, but they'll need a top-10 pick to get him. Cornerback may not be their top priority in next year's draft but it will be a position to address. Kool-Aid McKinstry will be entering a contract year in 2027 and could walk just like Alontae Taylor and Paulson Adebo did.
Moore won a host of honors last year at Notre Dame; he was a unanimous All-American, a finalist for both the Jim Thorpe Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy, and a semifinalist for both the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy. He was chiefly responsible for holding USC Trojans wide receiver Makai Lemon, the Philadelphia Eagles' first-round pick in April, to just four catches and 76 yards when their teams met. He has all the qualities teams look for between his prototypical size (listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds), clean play (5 penalties on 1,368 career defensive snaps) and ball skills (7 career interceptions and 18 passes defensed). If the Saints are going to be as successful this season as we hope, Moore may not be there when they pick next year.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh believes the football should not hit the ground very often during unpadded, non-contact spring practices.
Harbaugh, then, could not have been thrilled with the offensive performance he saw on Monday.
There were a couple of highlight plays. A long, contested-catch touchdown by rookie Malachi Fields, drafted to make those kinds of plays, was encouraging. A red zone touchdown pass from Jaxson Dart to Isaiah Hodgins, who made a contested grab at the goal line, was pretty. There was a nice deep shot from Jameis Winston to Jalin Hyatt.
In general, though, the passing attack might be described as uninspiring.
Dart threw a bad interception. He broke the pocket to his right and launched a ball for Darnell Mooney down the middle. The ball was late, short, and easily picked off by Paulson Adebo.

Given her strong ties to Broadway, and her 2024 Tony Award win for Best Leading Actress in a Play for Appropriate, Sarah Paulson returned to the Tony Awards on Sunday evening as a guest presenter.
The actress wore an Erdem Fall 2026 dress for the occasion, continuing her affinity for looks with an offbeat, slightly unconventional silhouette that feels entirely aligned with her personal style.
What makes this dress interesting is the contrast between the top and bottom halves, not only in colour but also in texture. The embroidered ivory bodice feels refined and romantic, while the pink skirt introduces a sense of disruption through its crinkled finish, raw hemline and oversized scarlet ribbon detailing.
That push and pull between elegance and eccentricity is something I often ******* ociate with Sarah's fashion choices. Much like the characters she gravitates towards on screen, her red-carpet style rarely takes the most obvious route. There is usually an unexpected element that keeps the look from feeling too sweet, or too predictable.
I feel like this is a dress that many would struggle to pull off as it asks a lot of its wearer. Keira Knightley is perhaps one of the few others I can imagine making a convincing case for it.
