WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Ethics Committee recommended Monday that Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., be censured after finding that he engaged in persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct toward two young female aides in his congressional office.
A censure registers the House's deep disapproval of a lawmaker's conduct that does not meet the threshold for expulsion.
Edwards, 65, has denied that any of his conduct was intended as a ******* ual or romantic advance, but the committee said his behavior would "lead a reasonable observer to interpret it as such." It also described his actions as "beyond inappropriate."
The panel highlighted numerous examples of actions it considered improper, including Edwards providing the young women with lavish and recurrent gifts, making comments regarding their appearance and dress, inviting them to intimate dinners and vacations, and sending notes regarding his affection.
The Ethics panel found no evidence Edwards explicitly propositioned any person under his employ or engaged in any ******* ual activity with them. But it also said he failed to adhere to "the spirit of rules prohibiting ******* ual harassment of and unwanted advances to House staffers."

I always saved and invested for the "long term," but now I am 75 and my long term is not so long anymore. I sold a lot of my mostly stock portfolio and invested in CDs and some bond funds, as well as cash and long-term-care insurance for myself and my husband, who is 83. We have no debt and try to live off our Social Security, pension and annuities, only withdrawing from our Roth or IRAs for major expenses like a roof or vacations. Our expenses run $100,000 a year.
My girlfriend is 62. Can she claim her late husband's full Social Security benefit — or does she have to wait?

His exit isn't easy to orchestrate, considering his age, demands, injury history, and €10/12M valuation. The side aims to avoid a loss on its balance sheet. This is usually around the time the league goes into hibernation, when coaches and executives take their well-deserved vacations and get away from business for most of August. An astonishing number of Gen Zers aged 18 to 29 are opting to save for a vacation rather than for retirement.
Nearly half of Gen Z folks are prioritizing vacations over their retirement savings, the highest of any age cohort, according to a new report from JPMorgan ****** et Management.
Paying off student loans and cobbling together emergency funds are also far more important to them than saving for their future golden years.
"This may be due to limited understanding of the benefits of starting early (especially compounding) and more immediate financial pressures — debt feels urgent, and retirement can seem distant, making it easier to defer saving," Alyson Frost, head of retirement insights at JPMorgan ****** et Management, told Yahoo Finance.

Now is a good point in the year to not lose focus on the long-term prize.
Quick insight: With Wall Street trading desks light, summer vacations in full swing, and fears of Fed rate hikes swirling, stocks have come under pressure — especially the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC).
But a well-timed note from the Goldman Sachs team offers a bit of helpful perspective.
Goldman noted that the S&P 500 (^GSPC) is up 95% since the end of 2022, placing the current bull market in the strongest 10% at this stage of the cycle, based on data going back to 1928.
By comparison, the top 25% of historical bull markets gained about 50% over the same period, and the median bull market delivered just 35% after three-and-a-half years. Since the April 2025 low, the S&P 500 has surged 51%.
Quick insight: With Wall Street trading desks light, summer vacations in full swing, and fears of Fed rate hikes swirling, stocks have come under pressure — especially the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC).

Body art has become increasingly part of international soccer, although its prevalence can vary across geographical regions. A study of athletes participating in the 2018 World Cup found that Latin American players were the most heavily tattooed, followed by those from Oceania and Europe. African and Asian players are the least tattooed.
I have been studying tattoos and their spiritual and religious roles since 2018. Tattoos are an investment of time and money; they tend to symbolize something important in the person's life. For professional athletes, however, they take on another level of meaning.
World Cup players' tattoos offer a glimpse into what they value in their lives. Sociologist Gustavo Morello counted 226 tattoos across Argentina's 2022 World Cup squad, including those of World Cup record-holder Lionel Messi.
These athletes operate in controlled environments in which what they do and say with their bodies is highly regulated. A player cannot freely ski, ride, work out or take vacations without considering contractual obligations to companies and other investors. Most of the professionals playing in the World Cup have also signed sponsorship agreements that regulate what they can display on their social media.

Imagine you’re drafting tomorrow in a 12-team PPR league. Who would be the top three bust candidates to fade in the fourth round? The following is based on current average draft positions (ADPs).
I don’t see the fascination with Colston Loveland, whose ADP is overall-42 / TE3. It’s as if everyone got the memo while I was on vacation. Except I don’t take fantasy vacations. So what’s happening?
As I’ve pointed out before, the fantasy market tends to overweight players who finished the previous season strongly. Sure enough, Loveland racked up insanely high numbers in his final four contests, posting a combined 28-378-2 receiving line. How did he do it? By getting 48 targets. Rome Odunze missed two of those games and played a relatively minor role in the other two. Meanwhile, Luther Burden took a firm backseat in three of those games.
Loveland dominated for reasons that cannot be easily replicated. A health Burden and Odunze will play larger roles than we saw late last season. Loveland is a fantastic young talent, and he also cannot be expected to get 12 targets per game or even 10. Presumably, he’ll finish among the top seven TEs, but a near-elite finish that warrants a fourth-round pick? I’m not seeing it.
Terry McLaurin is another risky selection. His overall-45 / WR22 ADP ****** umes the nearly 31-year-old can return to his 2024 form, when he needed 13 touchdowns to finish as the WR16 in points per game. Even with nine TDs that season -- if his receptions and yards had remained the same -- he would have been the WR23. Advancing age has lowered his ceiling to a new low.
