Former Superman actor Dean Cain has been forced to eat his words after a failed attempt to discredit rising Democratic star Abdul El-Sayed.
Cain, a 60-year-old vocal supporter of Donald Trump, tried to go after the Michigan Democratic nominee for Senate in a social media post after El-Sayed, 41, made a jab at Trump on CNN Sunday.
"Has anyone ever seen a photo of Michigan Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed (D) playing High School football?" the Cain wrote in an X post. "He says he was captain of the team, but I can't find a single photo. Internet, please do your thing."
Cain's replies were filled almost instantly with pictures of El-Sayed in football gear, with X users pointing out that the politician had shared one of the pictures himself on Instagram in March.
"This literally took 2 seconds," one X user wrote. Another commented: "Wow - that's your (failed) attempt at a 'gotcha'? I'd say stick with acting but ***** ody is interested in seeing that."

Tokuda is seeking a third term representing Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District, which includes the entire state outside the island of Oahu, as well as rural and suburban parts of Oahu itself.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the district D+12. That means it's highly likely that Democrats keep hold of it in this year's midterms.

Controversial Twitch streamer Hasan Piker is calling on Democrats to ensure that those who do not support Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed face consequences for not holding the party line.
"There are haters in our ranks. Notice how whenever someone comes out and says, 'Yeah that's actually a bad **** ociation,' immediately it's weaponized by the Republicans," he said Thursday while reacting to a clip of Fox News' Bill Hemmer interviewing former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel.

Michigan native Kid Rock went off on Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed over a resurfaced clip where the Democrat said he "hates" Mackinac Island.
Kid Rock, real name Robert James Ritchie, joined Fox & Friends Weekend on Saturday from Mackinac Island and blasted El-Sayed as an "idiot." He also dismissed El-Sayed's team saying the candidate was actually referring to a political conference in Mackinac Island rather than the town itself.
"He's an idiot!" Kid Rock said. "I know they're already trying to spin it that he was talking about the political conference up there, no, no, no. He said, I hate this place… Mackinac is one of the most beautiful places in America."
He described the town, which doesn't allow automobiles, as "God's country" and a "Norman Rockwell painting come to life."
El-Sayed made his comments about Mackinac in a 2020 documentary. During a visit to the island, he said, "I hate Mackinac so much. It's funny because, like, if we win, this is going to be the like… the summer home. I'm just gonna be like, every time I've ever come here I've hated it. Why am I here?"

The tensions between the far-left and more establishment wings of the Democratic Party are not going away, as evidenced by some sharp comments from former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton this week.
Clinton lamented during a Friday interview that the far-left doesn't fall in line and support establishment Democrats as figures like Hasan Piker are demanding fealty, while also warning Republican attacks on hard-left socialists could be "very effective."
"Pivot" podcast host Kara Swisher noted to Clinton that the Democratic Party is having a tense internal struggle between its more establishment and progressive wings to the point that Republican opposition has learned to capitalize on it.
"I think there's no doubt that, you know, the Republican Party is the Trump cult and the Democratic Party is a bigger tent. You know, we do have a broad cross-section of people, what they believe, what their experiences are. I think that's an advantage," Clinton said. "But we also have to win general elections."
Clinton noted that many Democrats now will have to learn to pivot and support the progressive Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed's campaign to defeat Republican Mike Rogers, while El-Sayed's supporters will have to learn how to re-integrate defeated Haley Stevens and her supporters who they were "vilifying" online and in person.

FIRST ON FOX: GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed's campaign has collected more than $115,000 from individuals who work for or have held leadership roles with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been designated a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates and formally designated or labeled as such in Florida and Texas.
A Fox News Digital review found that El-Sayed, who has made getting "money out of politics" a central campaign rallying cry, has accepted donations from at least 41 individuals who either work for CAIR, formerly worked for CAIR, or have served in leadership positions with the organization.
The donor list includes several of CAIR's highest-ranking officials, including national Board Chair Manal Fakhoury, national Board Treasurer Eyas Abdeen, national Vice Chair Emad Sabbah, and CAIR-Michigan board member Jukaku Tayeb, El-Sayed's father-in-law.
Tayeb has been one of the largest financial backers of the super PAC supporting El-Sayed's campaign and is also part of the founding committee of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group linked to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood funding, Washington Free Beacon first reported.

Several Jewish Michigan Democrats admitted Tuesday they or people they know will be backing Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers in the upcoming election if Abdul El-Sayed becomes the Democratic nominee.
Ahead of the Aug. 4 primary election, Jewish donors spoke with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) about the possibility of El-Sayed, who has been an outspoken critic of Israel, becoming the party's nominee for the Michigan Senate seat.
JTA reported that several prominent Jewish fundraisers have already begun to see Rogers as a "hedge" and are planning to raise funds for him against El-Sayed.
