Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has opened up about the impact of losing his mother, the late Princess Diana, at a young age.
The Prince has shared his journey with grief in a new Masterclass collaboration with neuroscientist Dr Mary-Frances O'Connor ****** led Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss.
In a video promoting the course, Harry discusses what it was like for him after his 36-year-old mother died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, revealing that he felt "emotionally numb" and spent years trying to cope.
"I couldn't remember my mum's laugh, couldn't remember what she looked like," he confided. "I felt like I had to be sad in order to prove to her that I missed her."
Prince Harry was 12 years old when his mother died. He later served for 10 years with the British Armed Forces, including two deployments to Afghanistan as an air controller and helicopter pilot.
"In my 20s, I went to war twice thinking I could outrun my feelings," he continued. "But that's not what happened. I'd spent so long emotionally numb to a large extent because ****** ody told me joy was still allowed, that it wasn't betrayal."

"Being in Canada, away from the stressful environment where presumably my body was just pumped full of adrenaline, within two or three days, I experienced this adrenaline crash, something that I'd never experienced before," Harry recounted. "It was as if I needed stress in order to get the adrenaline to make my brain function because I became useless around the house."

Prince Harry is opening up like never before about grief and what losing his mother, Princess Diana, at age 12 has meant for nearly every chapter of his life since.
In Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss, a new MasterClass available Oct. 8, the Duke of Sussex, 42, sits down with neuroscientist and grief expert Dr. Mary-Frances O'Connor for an intimate and at times deeply emotional conversation about loss, trauma and the ways grief can affect both the brain and body.
Rather than a traditional interview, the class — timed ahead of World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10 — unfolds as a candid exchange between Harry and O'Connor, a professor of clinical psychology and psychiatry at the University of Arizona whose research focuses on the psychological and physiological effects of bereavement. Together, they explore the science of grief and resilience while Harry draws extensively on his own life — from losing Diana and serving in Afghanistan to therapy, panic attacks, his marriage to Meghan Markle and life as a father.
"I didn't cry when I was told my mom died, only at her burial, and then not again for nearly two decades," he says near the start of the class. "I was convinced that was strength, but it wasn't. It was a 12-year-old boy with no permission to fall apart and no roadmap for how to heal."
"You would think I had the best help in the world. I'm a prince for God's sake, but I was still grieving and didn't have any place to put those feelings," he continues.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is widely considered one of the NBA's best players. After winning the scoring ******* le in the 2025-26 season, Doncic firmly established himself as one of the best scorers. But where does he rank as a playmaker in all-time conversations?
The NBA has seen its fair share of great point guards. As one of the most vital positions on the floor, the NBA's list of great point guards features an extensive collection of the league's most creative and intelligent players, with some even redefining the rules of the game.
During a recent appearance on "3's and Ones," former NBA player Lance Stephenson was asked to share his list of the top five point guards in NBA history. While some of Stephenson's answers seem justified, one in particular stood out, as he shared:
"Isiah Thomas. This is not in order. Magic Johnson. Jason Kidd. Stephen Curry. That's four? I got Luka."
For the most part, the first four names mentioned on his list were players that the panel agreed with, and given their accomplishments, the selections seem justified. Still, the mention of Luka Doncic in Stephenson's top five turned some heads, with former NBA player Michael Beasley even referring to it as a "hot take."

Purdue volleyball serves up a new challenge this season – no longer sneaking up on teams but proving it can meet top 10 expectations in a more competitive ***** e.
Coach Dave Shondell, who is 68 and signed a four-year contract extension in the offseason, said the Big Ten is much better this season and pointed to three of the ninth-ranked Boilermakers' first four matches are against top-20 teams. He also will be challenged with blending young talent to a returning core and redefining leadership, pointing to 10 of his 17 players having not played for Purdue in a regular-season match.
It also will be part of the first-of-its-kind college volleyball event in the Bahamas, where it will face either No. 11 SMU or No. 3 Kentucky, take part in the Big Ten/SEC challenge and a Big Ten Tournament hosted in Fishers. Purdue returns its core leadership with outside hitter Kenna Wollard, opposite Grace Heaney, setter Taylor Anderson and libero Ryan McAleer.
"I think that my approach has been a little bit different in that I'm expecting a little bit more from our team every day in practice than I did a year ago, which is kind of a dangerous move because last year whatever we did seemed to work," Shondell told IndyStar.
Ahead of first serve against No. 13 Creighton at 7 p.m. Friday on a neutral floor at the Sanford Pentagon, here are four things to watch with Purdue volleyball in 2026.

David Krumholtz shared that he's taking an "indefinite break" from acting, saying he hopes to pursue "a higher calling" moving forward.
The veteran actor, known for his performances in "Numb3rs," "The Santa Clause," "10 Things I Hate About You," "Oppenheimer" and "Supergirl," issued a career update on Threads Monday, writing (before later deleting), "I kinda sorta put my acting career on hold the other day. It's been something I've been petrified to do for years … Specifically, the fear was that I'd go broke and not be able to handle being out of the game."
He added: "But I sent the definitive email … And gotta say, a huge wave of relief washed over me. Not sure what I'm going to do for money instead, or how I'm going to do it, but I just removed a humongous burden, one that I truly didn't fathom the weight of until it was gone. Frustrated, fed up, fried."
After the post picked up steam on Threads, with many friends and fans speaking out in support of Krumholtz, the actor clarified that he wasn't officially retiring – just "redefining [his] terms."
"Ain't over, rather, redefining my terms," he wrote. "Hoping to find a new, more rewarding passion. Me, my product, and I mentality is not working anymore. I want to try to be of service. No crystal ball."

According to Sky Germany, the DFB is prepared to give former Liverpool and Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp extensive powers to reshape the national team and youth development, should the two parties come to an agreement over a contract.
Rather than focusing solely on the senior national team, the DFB reportedly wants Klopp to spearhead a wide-ranging restructuring of the country's footballing philosophy, addressing issues that have emerged in recent years.
A key part of the project would see Klopp ***** emble his own coaching team. Long-time ***** istant Peter Krawietz is expected to be part of the setup, while former Liverpool ***** istant Pepijn Lijnders and former RB Leipzig coach Zsolt Löw are also being considered as potential members of the backroom staff.
The future role of sporting director Rudi Völler remains unclear. However, the DFB reportedly believes a partnership between Völler and Klopp could work effectively through to UEFA EURO 2028, providing both stability and experience during the transition.
According to the report, Klopp's responsibilities would extend well beyond preparing the senior national team for international tournaments. He would be tasked with tackling structural issues throughout German football, including redefining the national team's playing style, modernising tactical principles and improving player development across the youth ranks.

South Korea proposed taxing unrealized gains on stocks and real estate at a National ***** embly forum on Tuesday. The push triggered what local traders are already calling Black Tuesday across the entire Korean stock market.
The proposal would tax investors on paper profits they have never realized by selling, redefining how wealth is treated in Asia's fourth-largest economy.
An unrealized gain is the on-paper profit an investor holds before actually selling the ***** et and converting the value into cash. The new South Korean push would treat that paper gain as taxable income, even if the underlying stock or property has never changed hands.
The forum brought together a powerful coalition. Lawmakers from the Democratic Party, the Progressive Party, the Rebuilding Korea Party, and the Social Democratic Party signed on.
Furthermore, civic groups, including the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, joined the effort.
