In college football, there are rivalries that date back generations.
Including one that has its roots in the Civil War.
That would be the 'Border War' between Kansas and Missouri, that is renewed on Friday when the 1-0 Jayhawks host the 1-0 Tigers, who are ranked No. 23 in the latest edition of the AP Top-25. The 122nd installment of this rivalry game was expected to be intense, but Kansas turned up that heat throughout this entire week.
It began earlier in the week, when the team shared this image:
This is from a mural painted by John Steuart Curry **** led "Tragic Prelude," which is located in the rotunda of the Kansas State Capitol Building. It depicts abolitionist John Brown in the center, holding a Bible in one hand, and a rifle in the other. He is surrounded by both Union and Confederate soldiers, with him at the middle trying in vain to hold them back.

AUSTIN, Texas — A season with high expectations gets under way for the No. 5 Texas Longhorns on Saturday against the Texas State Bobcats at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in a prelude to the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes coming to the Forty Acres next week.
After Texas State received the opening kickoff, a touchback deep into the end zone, Texas gave up a first down on three short completions, but inflicted a tackle for loss on a second-down running play and got pressure on Bobcats quarterback Brad Jackson to force a throwaway on third down under pressure from fifth-year defensive tackle Hero Kanu.
A bad snap to the Texas State punter impacted his rhythm, leading to a shank out of bounds only 17 yards past the line of scrimmage, affording Texas favorable field position at its own 44-yard line.
Lined up in 12 personnel, the first touch went to senior running back Hollywood Smothers, who bounced the run outside behind blocks from sophomore tight end Nick Townsend and junior wide receiver Ryan Wingo, made two defenders miss in the open field, and got down the sideline for a 45-yard gain.
Two plays later, on 3rd and 5, junior wide receiver Cam Coleman beat an attempt to jam him at the line of scrimmage and left the Texas State cornerback falling to the ground on an easy six-yard touchdown catch, his first touch for the Longhorns.

More on Rodri. The saga continues with more reports regarding Rodri's potential to come to Real Madrid. With the official announcement of Eliot Anderson by City, I think we'll hear real news on Rodri by end of today. Either a true break of chance where Real will not buy Rodri or what at this point most suspect which is a pretty clear statement of intent and almost near official confirmation that the agreement will be sorted. I really don't expect this to take long.
Vini. Only really stating this because of the lack of news but as a reminder allegedly the club and Vini's entourage are supposed to meet regarding his renewal this or next week. There's been really no movement from my understanding + sources + journalists. Let's see if there is a swift conclusion.

We are only three weeks away from the start of the Baltimore Ravens training camp. So football talking season (the prelude to football season) is now here. And it is always mock draft season. That's a year-round thing.
For this mock draft, we will only project the picks that are definitive at this time. We're only doing the six selections that we know Baltimore will definitely have. According to the league's website, they are likely to be awarded three more compensatory picks: two selections in round five and one in round six.
After the additional selections are made official, we will be back with a Ravens mock draft that includes them.
Round 1: Kade Pieper, C, Iowa
Perhaps the team's biggest question mark, heading into this season, is center. We just don't really know who is going to replace Tyler Linderbaum. The Ravens could go back to the same well (the University of Iowa) where they got Linderbaum, because, coincidentally, it is Pieper who is the highest-rated prospect at the position.

As NRG Stadium, currently named Houston Stadium for the World Cup and soon to be renamed Reliant Stadium, approaches its 25th football season, changes are underway.
The Houston Texans announced a new practice facility near Bridgeland, while the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo just announced a new agricultural complex near Highway 288.
So what does the future look like for the iconic stadium?
The latest comments from the Texans on NRG Stadium are that they're all in on keeping the stadium one of the best in the NFL. They plan to stay, but they are building the Toro District in Bridgeland, which includes new offices, practice facilities, and retail to draw in the fans.
The Rodeo's announcement to build a new one-million-square-foot complex for an arena, barns, and educational ******* e answers their need for more ******* e. But is it all a prelude to both the Rodeo and the Texans building new homes?

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — The green on the par-3 seventh hole might be the most famous of all the putting surfaces at iconic Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. It also might be the most infamous.
Among the storylines throughout the 2026 U.S. Open has been exactly where USGA officials might place the pin position on this severely sloped redan hole. Getting ****** to hold on the green during calm days is a challenge, let alone with the breezy forecasts that have been in play this week.
All this is a prelude to what we saw on Saturday when Sungjae Im played the hole while paired with Cameron Young during the third round. Set at 178 yards, the hole employed a left tee box to create a more favorable angle for players to combat the right-to-left wind, with the pin front right. Im’s tee shot however, sailed past the hole, staying on the green but stopped 78 feet from the cup.
It left the 28-year-old two-time PGA Tour winner with a tricky putt that would have a left-to-right break that could be measured in yards rather than feet. So tricky, in fact, that Im chose a different option.
This was just the third birdie made on the hole all day, to this point. Technically this counts as a putt. And what makes that even more interesting is that he gained 1.36 strokes on that “putt” alone, which is the most strokes any player has gained on a single “putt” on Saturday.
