The Florida State Seminoles had an impressive month of June with eight commitments gained in their 2027 recruiting class. However, just before that, on May 31, they lost four-star safety Mekhi Williams as he decommitted and then pledged to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Shortly after Williams left the program, he mentioned that he didn't want to completely close the door on FSU after he attended a 7-on-7 camp in Tallahassee in June. Per Zach Blostein of 247Sports, the Seminoles will do the same, as their pursuit of him hasn't stopped.
Florida State is still making an effort with Ruskin (Fla.) Lennard four-star safety Mekhi Williams, who flipped from the Seminoles to Wisconsin over the summer. Williams, however, says he is locked in with the Badgers and does not currently intend to take any other visits this fall.
Williams is the nation's No. 219 overall recruit and the No. 18 safety according to 247Sports composite rankings. He's ranked as the No. 24 prospect in the state of Florida as well.
FSU was able to add four-star Ta'Shawn Poole and shut down the recruitment of three-star Jemari Foreman at the safety spot. Plus, they added four-star athlete Za'Kari Johnson, who will play in the secondary as well. That clearly hasn't wavered them on Williams, and it'll be a situation to keep an eye on, especially if Florida State has a successful season.

The Treasury Department has finalized a rule that exempts U.S. firms and individuals from reporting beneficial ownership information to its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
"Treasury is eliminating a burdensome reporting requirement for millions of law-abiding business owners without compromising our national security," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in the announcement on Tuesday. Beneficial owners are identified as anyone who owns at least 25% of a business or exerts "substantial control" over the entity.
Additionally, foreign pooled investment vehicles registered in the U.S. are now exempt from reporting the beneficial ownership information of U.S. persons who control them. However, foreign reporting companies must still disclose beneficial ownership information for foreign individuals.

It took Carson Kvapil 64 races to earn his first NASCAR O'Reilly Series victory, but he has now won back-to-back after triumphing at Iowa Speedway.
JR Motorsports teammate Ross Chastain led most of the final run, but a caution with five laps to go completely changed the complexion of the race.
Chastain spun the tires in the first overtime restart, allowing Kvapil to move ahead. Right behind them, Brent Crews slid up into Ryan Sieg and Justin Allgaier, wrecking all three cars and collecting several others. That led to a post-race confrontation between Allgaier and Crews.
In double overtime, Kvapil once again got a better restart than Chastain, and Rajah Caruth actually moved up into second. They led a JR Motorsports 1-2 with William Sawalich third, Chastain sliding back to fourth, and Sheldon Creed fifth.
Nicholas Sanchez, Taylor Gray, Dean Thompson, Harrison Burton, and Brennan Poole filled out the remainder of the top ten.

Transportation ***** et manager ITE Management L.P. announced the acquisition of North American Chassis Pool Cooperative, expanding its premium chassis platform to national scale with broad market coverage for intermodal customers.
Privately-held NACPC of Nashville operates 20,000 chassis serving major intermodal markets across North America. The deal brings New York-based ITE's fleet to 60,000 units, which it said would strengthen its presence across key freight corridors and expand its range of leasing solutions.
No terms were disclosed.
"Milestone, Trend, and NACPC have each built strong businesses with their own identities, but they're united by a common approach: deep industry expertise, responsive service, and a commitment to quality," said Darren Hawkins, chief executive of NACPC, in a release. "Bringing these companies together creates a more powerful platform that expands our reach while continuing to deliver the reliable equipment and service our customers expect."
The strategic consolidation gives ITE a roughly 30% share of the 200,000 chassis operated as part of cooperative pools; chassis availability has been a recurring bottleneck in drayage and port operations. NACPC gains a larger capital base and broader operating footprint; it has long pursued a core model of pooled, interoperable chassis operations to reduce cost and improve availability. NACPC in 2021 acquired chassis maker Pratt.

Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro aren't the only ones throwing punches this weekend. Four-time NBA champion Draymond Green and Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem are also trading haymakers, only this altercation is taking place on social media.
On Sunday's episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green discussed the recent altercation between Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, sharing his own experience getting into it with a teammate and revealing what bothered him most about the incident.
"I remember when I got into it with Poole… I remember one person, when the Jordan Poole incident happened with me, who was really, really outspoken about it, and it really bothered me, was Udonis Haslem," Green said.
"I saw Haslem get into it with guys on teams that was younger than him before. Ala Jimmy Butler. Then he came out like, 'That's ridiculous! You get into it with your young guy I would never. I can't believe you did that…'"
"So when I first saw this, I was like, **** . This is two young guys Udonis Haslem raised. If you raised this young guy in the light of what you was saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy, that y'all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?"

Draymond Green and Udonis Haslem are going at it again, this time over the apparent Las Vegas fight between Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.
Haslem fired back at Green on social media on Sunday, ripping the Golden State Warriors star for comments that he made recently on his podcast.
"I see some things just don't change," Haslem wrote, in part. "You was on sucka s**t four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole, and you on sucka s**t now."
While this feud goes back years, the latest edition came after Herro and Adebayo got into it in a Las Vegas gym on Friday morning.
The former Miami Heat teammates were inside a gym at the Resorts World Casino when Adebayo apparently struck Herro in the "face area" in an altercation in front of Herro's AAU team. Adebayo walked into the courts and approached Herro and punched him.

Portsmouth defender Regan Poole is not thinking about going into the new Championship season in the final year of his contract.
The 28-year-old has made 82 league appearances for Pompey, scoring four goals after joining in July 2023.
"I'm in the last year of my contract, but I play every game like it's my last anyway, and I don't think I'll be changing," Poole told BBC Radio Solent.
"I was delighted to sign my new contract when I did the season before last, and I'll be hoping to do that again, and I need to show I'm capable of performing at this level.
"I hope I've shown that, but every season is different, and hopefully I can be at this football club for a little bit longer."

Four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole will announce his commitment between Tennessee, Georgia and Florida State on July 17, according to Brendan Sonnone of 247Sports.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect is from Howard High School in Macon, Georgia. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 4 safety in the class and No. 6 player in Georgia.
Tennessee offered Poole a scholarship on Feb. 21, 2025. He has visited the Vols three times, including an official visit on June 5.
UNLV was the first school to offer Poole a scholarship on Aug. 1, 2024. Other Power Four schools to offer him scholarships include Louisville, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Auburn, Missouri, Miami, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Penn State, Ole Miss, Indiana, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Alabama, Virginia Tech and Clemson.
Tennessee has 16 commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, defensive back Carter Jamison and defensive back Brandon Leavell, tight end Malik Howard, defensive lineman Christian Mays, cornerback Dylan Haley, linebacker Kenneth Simon II, kicker Ford Fehling, long snapper Sam McKeown, offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson, athlete Dayon Cooper, and safety Marcus Jones.

Four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole has announced his top three schools. The star safety is down to the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles and Tennessee Volunteers. Poole will look to make a major impact at any program he lands with.
Poole is one of the top recruits from the class of 2027. The talented safety would be a massive addition to Georgia’s recruiting class should he ultimately land at UGA. Poole is expected to announce his final decision in the near future. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Poole is currently projected to land at FSU despite a very strong push from coach Kirby Smart and his staff, but the Dawgs remain in the mix for now.
The four-star would instantly cement himself as one of Georgia’s top recruits should he decide to stay home. Poole is ranked as the No. 4 safety and the No. 64 overall recruit from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the fifth-best player Georgia. Poole has been nothing short of a superstar during his time at Howard High School in Macon, Georgia.
A commitment from Poole would ultimately be a major victory for the Dawgs. Georgia recently missed out on three-star safety Turmarian Moreland after he committed to Virginia Tech, and the Bulldogs will likely turn elsewhere if Poole lands with a different program.

Newport County have signed forward Shaquille Gwengwe from Southern League Premier Division South side Poole Town.
The 24-year-old arrives in south Wales after a remarkable campaign in which he scored 46 goals in 46 appearances for the Dorset club, form that County say had "attracted widespread interest from across the football pyramid".
In a statement, Newport added that they had "beaten off strong competition" to secure the striker's signature, with Gwengwe regarded as "one of non-league football's most sought-after forwards".
The forward spent one season at Poole Town having previously played for Dorchester and AFC Totton, where his goalscoring pedigree followed him.
His arrival provides head coach Christian Fuchs with an additional attacking option for the upcoming League Two season, particularly following the departures of Bobby Kamwa and Michael Spellman last week.

Raccoon goes on drunken rampage in liquor store and passes out on bathroom floor

ASHLAND, Va. (AP) — The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf, where the scotch and whisky were stored. The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed, a ceiling tile collapsed and alcohol pooled on the floor.
The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.
On Saturday morning, an employee at the Ashland, Virginia-area liquor store found the trash panda passed out on the bathroom floor at the end of his dr
