Sheffield United have signed former Crystal Palace and Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew on a deal until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old, who has won 124 caps for Ghana, was a free agent after leaving the Foxes at the end of last season following their relegation to League One.
Ayew joined Aston Villa from Lorient in 2015 and has spent the past 11 years in the Premier League and Championship.
"We're talking about someone here with bags of experience from right at the top level of the game," boss Chris Wilder told the club website.
"Only a few months ago he was captaining Ghana in the World Cup, so he's someone with real pedigree.

Promoted Premier League side Hull City FC have signed French winger Robinio Vaz (19) from AS Roma on loan, both clubs have announced. The former Olympique de Marseille forward's loan move includes a €30m buy option clause. Vaz will play for a third different club in the span of seven months. The player initially left Marseille for Roma in a €22m deal back in January. But Vaz's Italian spell won't live long in memory. He only made 14 appearances in all competitions, logging one goal.
Foot Mercato reported that several clubs accross Europe were interested in Vaz, including Ligue 1 side FC Lorient as well as Bundesliga and Eredivisie side. Eventually, Vaz will join the Tigers, who have made a remarkable return to the Premier League with two wins in as many games, against Manchester United and Coventry City FC. Vaz could make his Premier League debut on Saturday with Hull City hosting Aston Villa.

Italian giants Napoli are in talks to sign FC Lorient midfielder Noah Cadiou (27), according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Cadiou shone for Les Merlus last season. The France-born midfielder impressed with his physicality as well as his technicality on the ball. He has started both of Les Merlus' Ligue 1 games this season under new manager Alexandre Dujeux, however, it was during Saturday night's defeat to ESTAC Troyes that links with a move across the Alpine border emerged.
Tavolieri understands that Napoli are looking to sign Cadiou before the closure of the transfer window on Tuesday night. The Italian side have already made contact with their counterparts at Lorient. Talks are currently ongoing. It is Max Allegri who is leading the recruitment of the Guadeoupe international.
Les Merlus, under no obligation to sell the player, value the player at €9m. It is an attainable figure for a club with the wealth of Napoli.

In an interview on OGC Nice's channels, Moise Bombito (26) has confirmed that he will undergo further surgery on the tibia injury that he suffered at the start of October.
Bombito suffered a broken tibia against AS Monaco at the start of October 2025 and did not return in time to feature again for Nice last season. However, he did make Canada's FIFA World Cup squad and even started in their Round of 16 defeat to Morocco in the competition. He returned to Nice but was not included in the matchday squad to face FC Lorient on the opening matchday of the Ligue 1 season.
That absence could be explained by recurrent pain in his injured tibia. Speaking to Nice's official channels, Bombito said that, at the World Cup, it was "his body fighting against his heart". It was his heart that won, as Bombito did play at his home World Cup, albeit not fully fit, he confirmed. But he is now set for an extended period on the sidelines, after it was confirmed, following tests on Tuesday, that he would undergo another round of surgery on the tibia injury. Nice-Matin understands that he will be out for several months.

OGC Nice have permitted Mohamed-Ali Cho to undergo a medical at Hull City, as per a report from Nice-Matin.
It was reported by Fabrizio Romano over the weekend that a club-to-club agreement had been reached for the transfer of the French forward. The Italian journalist understands that the deal is worth €15m, including add-ons. That deal was struck following weeks of negotiations. At one point, talks had reached a dead end, prior to a breakthrough last week.
Cho is one of several players that Nice, in desperate need of players this summer, had identified as bankable. The Frenchman was a regular for Le Gym last season and was also included in the club's Ligue 1 opener, against FC Lorient, on Sunday, albeit not as a starter.
The former SCO Angers forward has now been permitted to travel to England in order to undergo a medical. A departure is, therfore, nearing, and a welcome one as far as Nice are concerned.

Elye Wahi touched down in Nice late last night ahead of his loan move to Le Gym from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Ivory Coast international also spent last season on loan at OGC Nice.
Fans gathered at Nice Airport late on Sunday night to welcome Wahi. The former Olympique de Marseille, RC Lens, and Montpellier HSC forward spent the second half of last season on loan at the Allianz Riviera. It was his goals that ultimately kept the club in Ligue 1. After netting in the promotion/ relegation playoff against AS Saint-Étienne, keeping Nice in the top flight, Wahi gave an interview in which he was very emotional and grateful to the club.
However, due to Nice's finances, it was not possible to include a buy option. Another loan move would be beyond Nice, it was thought, however, they have succeeded in reaching an agreement with their German counterparts. Wahi has arrived on the Côte d'Azur ahead of his medical. This time, his loan will include a buy option valued at €15m, Nice-Matin understands.
Speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News on Saturday night, following a 0-0 draw against FC Lorient, Olivier Pantaloni said that he was "impatient to have a signing" in attack. He added that he would be having talks with his superiors to understand the status of any deal(s). And just hours later, Wahi is in Nice and expected to complete a return.

Bamba Dieng is no longer set to sign for Lazio, as the first medical results detected a knee problem, preventing him from joining Gennaro Gattuso's ranks.
The 26-year-old is a Senegalese striker who has had a relatively modest career, but did enjoy a solid final campaign at Lorient (15 goals from 25 appearances) before seeing out his contract with the Ligue 1 side. The forward landed in Rome on Wednesday after reaching a surprising agreement with the Biancocelesti directors.
But as we reported this morning, Dieng had already failed a medical at Amed SK earlier in the summer, allegedly due to an issue in his knee. While Lazio were presumably aware of this issue, they still proceeded with the negotiations with the player.
According to several reliable sources in the Italian media, including Gianluca Di Marzio, Dieng's move to Lazio has been called off due to the first medical's results. The Sky Sport Italia correspondent believes the decision is almost final.
With Dieng ruled out of the equation, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina believes Andrea Pinamonti is once again the big favourite to bolster the Aquile's attack. The 27-year-old Sassuolo striker is a profile admired by Gennaro Gattuso, who considers him the right candidate for the role.

Abdoulaye Faye will join Celta Vigo on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with his medical scheduled for either Sunday or Monday, according to Sky Sports. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Lorient.
The left-footed center-back was signed by Die Werkself from Lorient last summer. Before making his competitive debut for the Bundesliga club, he'll now leave for the second time, with the current deal also giving him experience in continental football.
Celta Vigo could face Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League next season as they finished sixth in the 2025/26 LaLiga season. Faye trained with Leverkusen's first team and also featured in their friendly games. The loan deal will not have a buy option for the Spanish club.

Interest in FC Lorient's Pablo Pagis (23) is continuing to grow, as RC Strasbourg Alsace join the race to sign the playmaker, as per a report fromOuest-France.
Pagis, who came through the academy at Lorient, is coming off the back of a breakthrough season in which he scored 10 goals in 28 appearances in Ligue 1. The Frenchman has announced a desire to leave Les Merlus, however, the Breton club won't simply be giving him away, even if he has just one year remaining on his deal.
A price tag of €10m was initially floated, but that was denied by president Loic Féry, who said that it would take €20m to lure Pagis away from the Moustoir. Given the level of interest, that may be an attainable fee for FCL.
Paris FC are in for Pagis, as are RC Lens, Olympique Lyonnais, and BlueCo-owned Strasbourg. An unnamed English side and an unnamed German side are also contenders for his signature.

Terem Moffi (27) has returned to OGC Nice following the expiry of his loan at FC Porto, however, it has been made clear to him that his future does not lie at the Allianz Riviera.
Moffi was one of two players to leave the club following an episode back in November. Upon the return of Le Gym's team bus, following a defeat against FC Lorient, fans attacked players and staff. Moffi was a particular target of the fans' ire and he, alongside Jérémie Boga, was put on sick leave.
He would not play again for Nice and would depart on loan in January. Boga also left, joining Juventus, initially on loan. That move has now been made permanent. Moffi, however, has returned. He was present for the return to pre-season training on Wednesday and is under contract until the end of the season.
Nice are desperate to offload him, however, as new sporting director Roger Ricort made blatantly clear. "He is one the list of players we want to leave. He will surely be transferred elsewhere," began Ricort, who has succeeded Florian Maurice in the role.
He continued, "We don't necessarily respect the man but we will respect the player. At the moment, he knows that he won't be able to play for Nice any more, either. I think that would show a lack of respect to our supporters, but so long as he is here, we will try and be proper with him and his agents. When he finds a club, we will shake hands and wish each other good luck."

As Arthur Fery has raced around the baseline at Wimbledon this week, coming up with the sort of backs-to-the-wall points that have defined his remarkable run to the semi-finals, he has often celebrated with a defiant shout of “allez!”
Wimbledon may have a homegrown hope in the 23-year-old British wildcard, but from growing up just five minutes down the road from the All England Club, Fery’s journey has also been developed elsewhere: the son of French parents, educated at an American college, now playing under a Dutch coach. But not everyone is surprised by his sudden emergence onto the big stage.
Born in Sevres, a Parisian suburb in the southwest of the city that lies a 20-minute drive away from Roland Garros, Fery speaks French as fluently as English. His mother, Olivia Fery (née Gravereaux), was a former professional tennis player who played in the 1991 French Open and represented France in the team tournament that is now known as the Billie Jean King Cup.
His father, Loic Fery, is one of the wealthiest men in France, making his fortune as a private investor and hedge fund manager. In 2009, Fery also moved into sport as he bought second-division French football team FC Lorient. He remains the Ligue 1’s team’s president after their takeover by the Bournemouth owner Bill Foley.
Drawing inspiration from his mother and the annual Championships, Fery was drawn to tennis after his parents moved to Wimbledon when he was young. He attended King’s College in Wimbledon, a public school that currently charges tuition fees of up to £11,940 per term, and briefly represented France in tennis at under-12 level, with his mother travelling with him to tournaments.

But not everyone is surprised by his sudden emergence onto the big stage.
Born in Sevres, a Parisian suburb in the south west of the city that lies a 20-minute drive away from Roland Garros, Fery speaks French as fluently as English. His mother, Olivia Fery (née Gravereaux), was a former professional tennis player who played in the 1991 French Open and represented France in the team tournament that is now known as the Billie Jean King Cup.

Serving to stay in the biggest match of his life, as the shadows began to lengthen across Wimbledon’s Court 18 and fans climbed onto fold-out seats on the balcony and clambered onto benches to look down below, Arthur Fery was suddenly ground to a halt. A third nosebleed of the match stopped Fery in the his tracks and forced him to think. He had been battling Belgium’s Zizou Bergs for over four hours for a place in the last-16, scrapping from the brink after being a double-break down in the fourth set and a single break down in the fifth. Fery trailed 4-1 in both sets, but the deeper a hole the British wildcard faced, the tougher he fought, and the higher he climbed.
Once again, Fery managed to block out the distractions, with his epic 2-6 7-5 2-6 7-6 (3) 7-6 (10/5) over Bergs ensuring there will be a British player in the fourth round of Wimbledon. With his victory, Fery will enter the world’s top 100 for the first time. His decision to remain on the bearpit of Court 18, with its capacity for around 750 fans, rather than one of Wimbledon’s bigger showcourts, was justified as he whipped up a raucous atmosphere. “No words for it, honestly,’ he said. “With that support, it is unbelievable. I requested to play on this court and the club made it happen which was awesome. I love this court and had a great time on it.”
But the path to becoming the last British player left in the singles at Wimbledon has been an unusual one for a player who was born in France. His mother, Olivia Fery, was a professional tennis player who played at the 1991 French Open. His father, Loic Fery, is the wealthy owner of Ligue 1 football club FC Lorient. Fery briefly played for France at under-12 level, but grew up 10 minutes down the road from Wimbledon. There was no choice to make when deciding between the two countries. He sounds like a south Londoner. His home tournament was to be played on grass, not clay.
The contentious subject of British wildcards has been a theme throughout the opening week of Wimbledon, particularly after the dismal Monday that brought 10 defeats and the snubbing of Dan Evans from singles ahead of his final tournament before retirement. But it is clear the decision to award Fery direct entry into the main draw, offering him a fourth appearance at the Championships, was a sound one. His run at Queen’s, when he reached the quarter-finals, also as a wildcard, brought his ranking to a career-high 118th in the world. Having also qualified for the main draw of the Australian Open in January, where he defeated an ill Flavio Cobolli, Fery could walk through the gates of the All England Club and feel like he could belong there.
It has, as Fery said following his round one win over Damir Dzumhur, made Wimbledon feel more “normal”, less daunting. And perhaps that is the trick, shutting out the prestige and primness of the oldest and most famous tennis tournament in the world and treating it like any other competition. Fery carries an eye mask and earplugs i

Anderlecht have added to their backline with the signing of Elche defender Léo Pétrot. The 29-year-old central defender has signed a deal with Anderlecht that will run until 2028. Pétrot only spent one season in La Liga with Elche before leaving to join Anderlecht and will add some much needed experience to a back line that struggled at times last season.
Prior to playing for Elche, Pétrot spent almost all of his career in France. He started out in the Saint Etienne set up before leaving in 2019 without making a first team appearance for the side. Pétrot joined Andrezieux Boutheon, playing 24 games for the side before joining Lorient. After featuring for the first team during the 2021/2022 season, Pétrot returned to Saint Etienne, going on to play 99 games for the French side before joining Elche on a free last summer. Pétrot played 36 games for Elche last season, scoring one goal.

With Alejandro Grimaldo reportedly on the verge of joining Atlético Madrid for a fee in the region of €25 million, Bayer Leverkusen are already moving to identify a replacement.
According to Bild, Raphael Guerreiro is among the options being considered. The versatile 32-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Bayern Munich and, like Grimaldo, offers a strong left foot and extensive top-level experience.
However, new Leverkusen head coach Carles Martínez is said to prefer a more pace-driven profile for the left-back position.
Arsène Kouassi of FC Lorient, who is also being monitored by VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt, is seen as a good fit.
Playing with Edmond Tapsoba in the Burkina Faso national team, Kouassi would likely cost around €20 million.

OGC Nice have confirmed that Claude Puel has left the club. Maurice Cohen, meanwhile, will continue as club president.
Puel replaced Franck Haise back in December with the club in crisis. He presided over a decline that saw Nice end the regular season in the relegation play-off spot. Their survival in the league was confirmed thanks to a win over AS Saint-Étienne (4-1), one of Puel’s former clubs.
However, he will not remain in his post. His contract expired at the end of the season and the club have confirmed that it will not be renewed. Olivier Pantaloni, who led FC Lorient to a midtable finish last season, is expected to replace him. His arrival could be confirmed later today.
Whilst INEOS still remain at the club, there is continued uncertainty surrounding the ownership situation. American investors pulled out of a deal last week. In the meantime, it has been confirmed that Cohen, who arrived alongside Jean-Pierre Rivere in December as co-president, will remain in his post. Rivere, meanwhile, will become president of the OGC Nice endowment fund.

Olivier Pantaloni is set to be named the new manager of OGC Nice on a two-year deal, as per a report from Ouest-France.
Nice survived in Ligue 1 by the skin of their teeth by beating AS Saint-Étienne in a two-legged promotion/ relegation play-off. It was Claude Puel who presided over the club’s decline towards the relegation zone, having been appointed on an interim basis back in December.
However, he will not remain in his post. Whilst there is still uncertainty surrounding the club, the club have been in the market for a replacement. INEOS had been in talks to sell the club, although Nice-Matin understands that the deal, negotiated with American investors, has fallen through.
That will not prevent them from appointing a new manager. The chosen candidate is Olivier Pantaloni, who left FC Lorient at the end of the season, having led them to a comfortable mid-table finish in Ligue 1. The Corsican is set to sign a two-year deal.

Pierre Sage’s move to Crystal Palace looks set to be confirmed. As per reports from L’Équipe, RMC Sport and Fabrizio Romano, an agreement for the Frenchman to make the move to Selhurst Park is imminent. RMC Sport understands that RC Lens will pocket up to €5m in the deal.
It is a departure, a surprise departure, given that Sage and Lens were set to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, that leaves the Ligue 1 club in search of a new manager. As per L’Équipe, Olivier Pantaloni has emerged as the frontrunner to take over at the Stade Bollaert.
The Corsican manager is a free agent following his exit from FC Lorient at the end of the season. On Tuesday, it was announced that Alexandre Dujeux would replace him at the Moustoir.
Currently in pole position to take the job at Lens, Pantaloni would link up with Yan Cahuzac, his ******* istant at Lorient, who also left at the end of the campaign. Le Mans FC’s Patrick Videira is also an option, but unlike Pantaloni, he is under contract.
